- More snow havoc from the Polar Vortex of 2021. This video is more about the dangers of working on the interstate and how we try to minimize those dangers. We had one Police cruiser, Dad in our traffic control unit #16 with arrow-board, Mike and his rollback #14 with arrow-board, and me in our Peterbilt rollback unit #16 with arrow-board. I perform the recovery and the tow of a pickup in a snow filled median while the rest of the crew provide cover and traffic control and the Police cruiser almost gets hit!!! Please SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

I'm glad to hear that officer was able to avoid getting hit. God bless
That was the fastest I've seen him move and clear a scene, lol.
The wife: Honey, I'm home, the kids are gone for a while and I feel lonely.
Ron: SUPER RECOVERY MODE ENGAGED!
I'm so glad that nobody got hurt in an obviously dangerous situation.
Ron, that was great on many levels... shows your professionalism, and how dangerous your job is, which too many people do not realize. Right now I pray for continuing safety and blessings for you, your crew and your family...Father please keep Your hand on these people that are shining for You and keep them safe, in Jesus name, Amen.
Amen ,Amen in Jesus name, hallelujah.
I didn't fully appreciate the danger until I heard the stress in his voice. Thank you for sharing this video
Ron that was the longest 6 nail biting - on the edge of my seat - minuets, I've ever seen on your channel... And I wasn't ever there...! I can't even imagine what was racing through your mind except "I got to get this truck loaded and I got to get out a here...!" WOW...! Good thing and thank God you and everyone got out of there safe including the police officer...! Man...!
Just over a week ago we had a local tow truck operator struck by the vehicle he was recovering as it was struck by a vehicle from the interstate . He lost his life yesterday as a result. Ron please be carefual and everyone please slow down and move over > These are tragedies that can be avoided !
I'm sorry about the loss of life. Prayers to his family.
Dang it’s sad that some people just can’t pay attention 😔 these workers need more praise because it’s a lot more dangerous than some people apparently think
Sorry to hear about the loss.
Very happy to hear the officer was not hurt, some drivers can't see past their nose it seems. Be safe out there on them roads.
I for one know this because I can not tell you how many people down here in the Springfield MO Area I pass daily that are texting or one I saw the other night, facetiming and driving and staring more at the phone than the road, on glances at the road every few minutes, people need to put the phone down, slow down and move over, these people are kind enough to risk their lives to save yours and people can't get their nose out of their phone enough to even pay attention
yeap recognised that bridge from the black ice bash double bill.. you were on the right hand side of the road not this left side... and you saw a spinner which was caught on the cam we were watching... thanks for sharing and glad everyone got back safe
6 minutes. This is what you call a professional. Great work Ron. Stay safe
That has to be a record, the fastest pickup you have had in a while thanks for the entertainment
Easier to get loaded with an intact vehicle but then the difficulty switches to the process. Good time for sure.
These shouldn't be taken as entertainment, rather education. Pay attention, slow down, move over ---always!!
Professional to the core....Prearranging & Securing a safe working area, and getting the recovery done n' dusted within a short time scale, with all being kept safe and well....These videos are what keep me coming back every upload... Stay safe all...
Although I will never be driving a big rig, watching your videos have reminded me to be a more aware driver. Riding along , especially on CODE3 runs I'm understaning more of what you would like to have us do when in traffic so you can get through. Your "Ride-along" should be a part of Driver Traning courses. Thank you and God Bless
Looks like you did a really good briefing that included law enforcement before leaving the shop. Outstanding. Glad the officer was able to move to avoid being hit. Some people drive like they are totally unconscious. I enjoy your videos, they are my Friday highlights. Stay safe.
Good Morning My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt & God Bless You & All Of You're Whole Family & I Am Still Praying For All To Be Safe Today
Thank You All For Liking My Comments To Mr Ron Pratt & To His Family & God Bless You All Today
I'm new to UA-cam since the pandemic start and found your channel. I watched every video and I have to say that you and your crew are part of the angels on earth. Your professional and ethical approach is amazing. You deal with the aftermath of people's worst days and in some cases, last days. You operate complicated equipment with traffic passing you within inches and in other very dangerous conditions. My Dad was an EMT and firefighter for 27 years, but I never even gave the clean up crew a thought until now. You are truly among the very best. Stay safe. God bless.
The worst part is when you have to be at the back of the truck and can't look towards the traffic, like when putting on the rear tie down, always raises the hackles.
Thank you, Ron for a glimpse into your day, even when on a day you were really busy doing your valorous job!
As always, stay safe, team!
As always a great and informative video, Ron. I particularly did like the date and time stamp, it gives a good idea of what goes into some of these bigger jobs.
Glad nobody was hurt and you was safe it was a smooth and professional recovery as always people in the area you cover are very lucky to have a reliable polite and professional crew to do the jobs. Well done to you all. Stay safe.
You sometimes wonder if prayers get answered....You asked for safety for everyone on the scene BEFORE you arrived and the policeman had a close call, but no accident!!! While this was far from a complicated recovery, this is probably one of the best towing recovery videos I have ever seen. You knew how dangerous it could be, planned accordingly, worked efficiently, did the tough part yourself, and everyone made it out safely. Wish more companies had owner / operators like you!!!
Yes, i remember that bridge very well. You filmed someone skidding off on a patch of black ice landing in the same spot where this pick-up was. Very dangerous spot. Thankfully everyone is alright.
I'm glad everyone was safe in this incident. It was a quick recovery & thankfully no one was injured in either the crash or the recovery. May the good lord look after you & EVERYONE at Midwest Truck.
Everyday I see young people looking at their phone more than at the road. It's a wonder there aren't more accidents.. And, I think, it's because of this behaviour, that car companies are developing all these safety features and self-driving cars, that take the fun and responsibility out of driving. If you don't want to drive, get a taxi or an Uber or whatever. But leave the cars as they are: fun to drive, where the driver is in control.. Stay safe out there..
Great video, Ron. Quick but professional. Really appreciate the date and time stamp on the video. No guessing when things occur.
And even given the need to stay on the scene as for as short a time as possible, you don't rush anything. Get in and get out - but do it right, too, no shortcuts. Fortunately, this one was one where everything went right.
⬆️ with only a questionable vehicle tie-down i.e. changed to the wrong side, tire could have slipped off. Thus worse could have happened
Slow down, take your time. SAFETY is Paramount
Yep there’s no point in rushing it and causing another injury you can definitely tell he’s done this for a long time
Always very professional and it is very evident that you know what you are doing! I enjoy these videos very much and thank you for sharing them with all of us. God bless y’all and keep y’all safe!!
Watching Ron's videos has challenged a lot of my driving behaviors. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but where I live there is a high percentage of drivers who get behind the wheel and become the Most Important Person on the Road. And do whatever it takes to live out that fantasy, including breaking laws and putting other people in danger. People resist and even resent being told to put aside that self-importance for even just a little while. I, for one, have become a safer driver since subscribing to Rotator Ron. Not because he's lecturing a classroom on roadside safety, or preaching against selfishness while driving to another traffic scene. But because I see the risks involved for him and his crew every time they get called to respond.
So glad your crew worked safely thru the mess that hit Southeastern, MO! Hoping to see some better weather down there. Stay safe!
Glad to see you guys have everything you need to protect yourself on the line Be safe out there brotha
Convenient towing eyes, they left the keys and the car started. Some people have all the luck ;-)
That is what I was thinking about the Tow Hooks on the Pickup.
13:07 Well it looks like the right rear tire is flat. But in this circumstance it's not actually a big deal. Cold have been much worse.
Most 4x4 trucks have those towing eyes mounted to the front, they are attached to the frame of the vehicle. Most of the time the back bumper also has a place where a hook can be attached; usually it is located at the receiver mount. I'm very happy they are mounted there since it makes it so much easier to hook a chain or recovery strap on the vehicle and pull it out.
@@Harry-zz2oh that used to be the case, but the last decade or so most half tons don't have a front recovery point. They are still common on 3/4 ton and up.
I enjoy watching you and tater work
Ron I see that you still have your RV set up at the shop are you still staying there during these storms. It a great idea for safety so you don't have to drive to shop then have to drive home. It helps you get a "little bit " more rest between calls. Hope that you and yours stay safe.
I have a huge respect for recovery specialists/tow truck drivers after watching your videos. Such a tricky, dangerous job.
Gotta' be honest. Even with you blocker down the road, I was fully expecting to see some idiot driver use your trucks bed as a launch ramp. That was one scary position to be in and, no, it did not seem simple to me. Thank goodness all turned out well for you and that trooper.
I had the same thought; I'm very happy it did not happen.
Yeah, like in Dukes Of Hazzard!
I know tow truck operators and drivers here in Meridian, Mississippi enjoy your videos.
“You and me going fishin’ in the snow...”
always got some idiot that wont slow down and move over. take care out there.
I can only imagine how much more difficult this would've been without the front tow hooks on the truck. By far, this was the most smooth and quickest recovery I have seen in a very long time. Kudos to you for going overkill on safety, even if only for 5-10 minutes.
Simple recovery, but in a dangerous location. The only other thing I'll say is -- everyone was on the same page; "stringing out" the trucks was to me a touch of genius; and it worked.
Not only is it the law to slow down and move over, it is common sense, which seems to be in short supply of late. Another good video. Thanks.
i try to slow down, and move over even if there arent any lights on the vehicle. i always want to make sure im not the reason for someone to not go home at the end of the day wish you and your team all the best
A real quick and slick recovery there Ron, and very few of all those people blasting past you at high speed appreciate the danger they are putting you in. Keep safe.
DJ in the UK.
That tow may have looked simple, but was in a very dangerous spot!! Everything that you do shows that you are a TRUE PROFESSIONAL !! God Bless and Be Safe!!!
I like your rear facing dashcam. It's good to see you when you talk. Congratulations on the quick recovery.
Hallelujah; you Dragged ( whoops ) it out. Nice work Ron & Crew !!!🚧 * *God Bless !!! * *..
So glad that everyone stayed safe on this job, Ron. I really appreciate your videos.
Yaws safety is priceless. God bless and be safe guys. Keep up the good work ron. Been watching you for about two years and have had a few of my friends join your channel also. They love the vlogs too.
I want to express a BIG Thanks for including the time stamp on the video, I wish all the channels I'm subscribed to would do that. Again thanks!!!
Sometimes it's not available, some cameras allow you to turn the timestamp off.
Thanks for putting the date in the lower corner of the video, I appreciate it. I've watched a number of "wreck / recovery" videos, yours are the best, by far (in my opinion).
Nice work!!! Nothing better than a short pick up and done safely. God bless!!
Morning. May you and family be blessed. Know community counts on you all.
Glad nobody was seriously injured and the officer was able to get out of the way, Ron hope you your family and the Midwest crew have a wonderful and safe weekend
I like Ron and his crew and all emergancy crews and it is a great job on the video's. Thank yòu and God bless everyone and be safe.
aint this the same exact spot where you caught a white chevy truck spinout on cam?
Yes it is. We work many incidents at that same location. That's why I know how dangerous that spot is. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Good memory you have.
Sometimes people just never listen! Glad you got it done quickly and professionally!
was a simple scene but made complicated by environment and other vehicles. Still... you make any recovery look like child's play. Keep doing you Ron "Tow Mater" Pratt.
That was an impressive and quick winch out and load in such a dangerous place, great job. I think I remember this area from previous videos, mainly one where you had to recover two or three cars from the bottom of the hill on the right and one from the median.
The new dash cam view for the drive is neat but I prefer the rear window view where I can see the drive and what you're doing as well. I like seeing you drive (especially the rotator but the rollbacks and other trucks as well), shifting gears, pressing buttons, etc.
Hope that you have a great week end. thanks for the upload.
Six minutes tops. Thank goodness it was a quicky one and too much traffic either. So dangerous on a main highway. Glad everyone stayed safe on this one.
This is simply a pure demonstration of power. If I lived in the US/Midwest I know who I'd call for sure.
When they invent a towing and recovery vehicle where you don't even get out of the cab to recover the vehicle, this will get faster, until then I think Ron has set a record for weather conditions this bad! :D
I've seen the videos that you talked about. People scare me with their non-driving skills. Please, please stay safe and prayers ALWAYS said for you, your crew, all first-responders, and OTHER towing crews out there.
You always do a great job Ron. Be safe out there.
Really like your videos and the flag on your channel . I am a veteran usaf let that flag fly.
Thank you for your service
It always is simple when you sit on your chair, couch or sofa and just watch what's going on. Would be really nice if PD and Law Enforcement in general would push for you recovery unit's to have the same radio's so you guys can communicate with them on scene better. And experience is something you gain over time which let's it all look so easy. Great job Family Pratt.
I agree with Ron, we had freezing temps for a longtime this winter. I was so happy when the snow started to melt!
Safety is priceless!
another truck saved by ron and crew great job keep safe and healthy
I love that MO is so big on traffic control. Police here in CO rarely will block for me, but I always try to block for them
Glad you are safe and so is your crew, including the Police Officer.
You have an extremely dangerous job. I read 2 days ago about a Fulton, MO tow truck driver. You’re correct about getting your plan ready and having people to help protect your work area.
Nice hook and book Ron. You wasted no time and no extra movements. Good job.
Thank you for sharing with us God bless you all from Kentucky
Another great job done by Ron
One of our motto's at our station. Safety first, last and always. I'm looking out for #1 always. Because if something happens to me, I'm no good to whomever I'm trying to help. Great video as always Brother. Stay safe out there
Your Remote payed for itself today
Well done Midwest team , Glad everyone was safe, some people are not thinking why there are so many vehicles with warning lights on, they just want to get to where ever they are going fast, 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🪝.
Cool video ron, safety is a number 1 priority out on these dangerous roads and jobs, stay safe ron and the rest of the crew
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Ron, you are very smooth.
Ron you are absolutely amazing 👏
Awesome job as always sir .
Here in Ontario, the highway department has a fleet of crash barrier trucks. These are usually old dump trucks/snow plows that have had the dump bed removed and a folding crash barrier attached to the rear. In the event of an accident, these trucks are parked in the land that needs to be blocked off. They are equipped with flashing lights and arrow boards, but if somebody fails to see it, they hit the crash barrier which absorbs the impact and saves the life of that driver. And of course, it protects the emergency personnel.
As always stay safe Ron & crew
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 That’s real Professional work, That was quick work Sir and on the left hand shoulder. Great work as always.
Teim work to keep you all safe. Have a bless day I enjoy washing your utube vedos on Fridays

Stay safe out there Ron and team!
Well, that was a real fast recovery Ron. Stay safe!! Roy W .Nantwich UK
Awesome , Thanks Ron
Dashcam looks great. Provides such a much clearer view of the drive,
That was a quick but dangerous job! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
I does not matter it is the law, it is a simple matter of courtesy, of human beings living together.
And common sense.
Well done Team a well organised recovery
Good afternoon Mr Pratt. Hope your day is well , I miss catching your Friday video as I am working now in a CNC machine shop making lots of different things, y'all be safe out there and God bless
Ur the best ron keep up the great wrk u do be safe out there
That was lightning fast!
It makes for a short video though. But yes, safety first. Load and Haul it.
Always stay safe. Thank you
