Taking Care of Business!! New Western Star Working Hard!!

- Опубліковано 18 кві 2024
- Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, I another opportunity to test out our new 2024 Western Star 49X with a Miller Industries, Century 9055XL. The 9055XL is a 50 ton integrated (non-rotating) 3-stage boom. The XL is for Extra Long reach and has the same capacity as the standard 50T 3-stage. A customer calls us after one of their trucks went into "derate" mode. This is so common now with all the emissions regulations that the government has forced upon us. I would guess that 75% of our towing is emissions related issues. Anyway, simple tow, but a beautiful day to take the new truck out for a little "test drive", and get out of the office for a bit...LOL. So far, I am loving this truck and what it can do!!! Thank you, God, for blessing our family and our business. Watch as we continue to receive God's blessings. There is much more to come!!! I hope you enjoy this video!!!
We have a difficult and dangerous job and we take it very seriously, that doesn't mean we can't have fun and enjoy our work. We strive to be polite, professional, efficient, and safe...and still can have fun. I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

We're thinking of you Ethan... Get better and please take care of yourself... pneumonia is very serious and nothing to play around with...! We need you!!!
Absolutely yes lets pray for him, and KEEP prating for him. And Ron & Crew safety.
Shalom
yes its not good , Ethan take it easy I had it five times when I was 5 years old just at the time when they started using penicillin , remember getting out of bed and not being able to walk . a couple of years ago Linda got out of bed and collapsed in a heap called out the "Care Bears " ( ambulance ) and she spent 5 days in hospital just about able to walk with a zimmer frame ,took her about a month to feel somewhat OK , but it took us both 3 months to get over covid , Its a good day when you wake up and get out of bed feeling OK at 77 years old 😀
plus the fact that we both have had a brush with the big C but we are both in remission Linda has been that way for 20 years
keep up the videos always a good view
Prayers and best wishes to Ethan for a quick recovery.
Ron, your to-do list: 🙂
-longer chains
-a more ideal fixing for the black strap
-an alarm for the PTO being engaged while driving
The Pete rollback does have an alarm as the lil Pete just has a big red light next to the panel that turns on when the pto is on
Talking to yourself is fine. Losing an argument with yourself might be time to seek help
I always say that if you get into a violent argument with yourself you need to seek help. Nowadays I suspect many people seeing someone "talk to themselves" might just assume that person is talking on a phone using a bluetooth device they might not be able to see.
I often talk to myself, sometimes you just need an experts opinion 😂
LMAO!!
😂😂😂😂😂@@Thomas-lq1jw
Talking to God is called praying. If you get an answer, you need a psychiatrist! 🙂
Get better soon Ethan!. My 2nd oldest grandson graduated from Marine Corps bootcamp on the 12th of this month. He is going into the cybersecurity field of training. His name is Tyler Mason, and we are very proud of him.
Nice of the customer to leave the truck so that you could hook right up. That saved some time. Get well, Ethan. Stay safe and sunny side up.
Ron, if anyone at the gas station knows you, they know you're just talking to us... love all your videos.
Hope Ethan's ok now. God bless.
Nothing better than sitting back and watching Ron and the team
I hope Ethan is feeling better. My husband had pneumonia once and ended up in the hospital. Again hope all is well. God bless.
Please, Ethan, get well soon!!!
Prayers for Ethan’s quick recovery. In my early 20’s I had a touch of pneumonia, that turned into an upper lung infection (this all under medical care). It took me almost a full year to get my lung capacity back. I was big into cycling in those days frequently doing 50+ mile rides. During that period, 15 miles had me exhausted, slowed recovery as well. Now granted that was 40 years ago and medical care has improved.
A testament of a professional tow driver can find a solution to an unplanned challenge
Great investment for Midwest Truck.
Since Ron says "had", hope that means Ethan's better now and no lasting effects.
Unit #18 is an absolute beast!!! I love what she can do!
Actually thought 18 may have been another rotator
@@mikewm54jl I thought it was gonna be another rotator as well, but they’ve been needing another Western Star because the other WS is a little outdated
@@mikewm54jlnot really a whole point in having 2 rotators
Good Morning There My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir Yes I Am Still Praying For You & You're Whole Family & All Of You're Whole Staff & Everyone Else
It's nice seeing you working without the stress of traffic, your Arc nemesis, weather, or other adverse conditions.
Clean, shiny, new rigging with behind every door.
Everything has a flaw and you found it with no way of telling when your PTO is engaged Ron. That could have been bad but you caught it tho. Very awesome truck there with all of its features on it. God Bless you guys and hope Ethan is feeling better soon.
Prayers sent for Ethan!!!
The new 18 sould be named in Loving Memory of your Dad
I love your videos and love to see all your trucks in person and I am a cancer survivor since 2007
I know of two instances, there are probably a lot more, where the light bars fell off for one reason or another. One operator in Oregon added an extra cable just for that reason. Get well soon, Ethan!
That was Casey
Good morning, be safe to and God Bless
Greetings from the UK on a Friday lunchtime. Prayers and good wishes for Ethan's speedy recovery.
I love your the same friendliness when just show up and my wife found you and you were awesome the way you treated her and even cane to the van to meet me and even said hi to the dog all day you being so nice is all we talked about
Get well soon Ethan
Good afternoon Mr Ron Pratt.
As I'm sitting here in my home in sunny Darwen Lancashire England 🏴 or good old blighty as I like to say I was wondering what to watch and your UA-cam channel popped up 👆 so now I have my entertainment so nice one for that. Your a legend Mr Ron and International star 🌟 via UA-cam.....🎉❤😊
Nothing wrong with showing us the more mundane jobs. The unusual ones involving hills, long distances over muddy terrain, high weight, hazardous materials, nasty weather or your Arc Nemesis are fun to watch you plan and execute but most of what all of us do is repetitive work that reinforces basic skills.
Glad you caught the PTO being on. Breaking Ethan’s truck while he’s sick would be hard to explain. Just goes to show that learning the quirks of any new vehicle is part of the break in process for the operator.
Get well soon Ethan.
God Bless.
Good morning Ron & everyone!!! Awesome work with Ethans New truck...❤ At the "servo"...
Yes Ron we call it the ‘servo’
Hope Ethan is feeling much better, sorry he didn’t get to show off his new truck 🛻.
The New & Improved mobile office!
The CB convo was hilarious (it's a secret) 😂
We pray for Ethan, that God would touch and heal him in Jesus Christ name❤❤❤
Wishing Ethan a speedy recovery. Greetings from the UK. God bless.
its always nice to see the calm side of your work.
Seems like a larger chain locker would be a real luxury on these trucks. Although you'd probably just fill it right up anyway.
Watching from Australia and loved the use of the word "servo" to describe the service station. New truck is awesome, keep up the great work.
Hello, Ron. Sorry to hear your son, Ethan is ill. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Great video, as always. Please keep them coming.
Hope Ethan feels better. As for people wondering who the crazy tow guy is talking to, do what Everything Auto from east Tennessee did and put a decal on the trucks with the UA-cam logo and your UA-cam Channel. Keep up the great work and it is nice to see videos like this. This is how we learn so we can follow better on the recovery and wreck vids when you are crunched for time. Stay safe and God Bless.
Who else loves Ron Pratt?
His wife
WE ALL DO !!! 🎉
I always watch when he posts a video one of my favorite UA-cam channels
Been a while since we've seen a Capital Sand truck. Feels kinda nostalgic. Keep up the videos and the good work. Get well Ethan.
Little do they know - you are speaking to and sharing a part of your busy life with thousands of your loyal followers. Thanks for the memories.
Weird seeing the truck lockers/boxes being devoid of extra straps, D-rings and 'bug juice', oh and the fact that it is still (at least for now) clean
I really like the tool/parts drawers. That kind of organization is a real productivity booster... I would think the PTO engaged with brakes released alarm is something that should be (have already been) done in the wrecker body's software
One good thing about talking to yourself is there isn't nobody to argue with you!
Ron I just enjoy watching your UA-cam Channel may God continue to bless you and your Family and your Employees & Congratulations on your New Western Star nice looking Rig
Sending prayers to you Ethan get better soon.
Thank Ron for showing us the hook up. Lots to do, but I like how you double check to make sure all secure and safe.
Get well soon Ethan. That new Western Star looks a nice truck to drive
I enjoy watching you work quickly and efficiently, Ron. That and your "thinking out loud" commentary is super good. Thank you for another great video! I've been watching for a long time.
What a gorgeous day to be outside. I guess towing sometimes has its perks.
I betcha no matter what kinda task at hand, Ron will always find something to hook on to :)
Your Australian slang is on point, Ron! We have three models in the Western Star X-Series - the 47X and the 49X are the same as what you get in the States but we also have an Australia specific model in the 48X. All of the Australian X-Series trucks have Detroit power except the 47X which has a Cummins L9 alongside the DD13 Gen 5
God bless you and your family
Praying for Y'all ❤🙏🌞💪💯🇺🇸
thanks for your videos I appreciate them it helps me to get tough may day . because I am in a power wheelchair
As always an interesting video, I do hope Ethan recovers quickly
I hope Ethan recovers quickly. Nice Truck
God bless
Wishing Ethan a fast recovery
Speedy recovery for Ethan
Great to see the truck earning it’s keep.
Feel better Ethan. Ron it is good to see you still can hook up a tow. Lol
I'm glad you like the new truck, Ron. Are you going to take it over from Ethan, lol? I know you wouldn't do that, though. You have had the rotator too long & and you're comfortable with it. Hope Ethan gets better soon. I know he misses with the trucks. You all needed this truck. It fills a hole that was missing but didn't know was missing. It's good to have another heavy recovery unit rather than just a 35-ton tow truck. You got a 50-ton towing AND recovery unit
Thank you for another great video. Cheers
Get well soon Ethan. Your dad is having too much fun with your truck!
Praying for Ethan .. I agree with previous comment..🙏🙏🙏
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO RON 😊
Get well soon Ethan. Prayers and good thoughts coming your way.
Prayers for Ethan get better soon about time we see you in the new truck your Old Man doesn't know how to work it😂😂😂😂
Ron, your vids are the highlight of my UA-cam week!! I always feel that you are talking directly to me, although obviously you aren’t!! Don’t worry about folks thinking you’re talking to yourself. Just tell them you are communicating with your world wide bunch of friends. A nice safe job today. No powerlines, no rain and no passing traffic! Good wishes to Ethan for a speedy recovery. Roy W UK.
Ron, love all the videos from standard tow to runing code. I hope your days are filled with the everyday jobs/unique job and not ones due to loss of life.
I'm interested in your day to day opportunities. Stay safe I enjoy all of your videos.
Needs an audible PTO alarm…..not good on a new truck, I spotted you hadn’t cancelled the PTO…easy done…👍👌🇮🇲😉
I see you you got those ratchet straps , seen those makes things so much easier .
But really enjoy watching you guys stay safe hope Ethan feeling better and as always STAY SAFE
I hope Ethan gets better soon.... Yes I do love to see all the different jobs you go on, from the basic semi going down roads not made for semi's and getting stuck/jumping the curb. To trucks braking down/losing a tire. Also the odd jobs of moving tanks, storm shelters, storm drains and odd things like that.... Gives us a better view of what it is like to work the tow trucks.
I hope Ethan gets better soon. So you can put his own little scratches on the paint job. And I'm waiting for the compartments to get filled up on that thing they look off when empty for some reason.
Get well soon Ethan! I know exactly how you feel. Ron you talk to yourself, well I do to but I don't have a UA-cam channel but maybe I should.
RON LOVE THE VIDEOS WISHING EATHAN A FAST RECOVERY TO BE BACK IN THE RIG
Nice truck-so you would rather use small chains on the hooks than straps// Ow--and on the safety c hains--I'd just be calling Miller for a new set-as much as you paid for that truck. Sure would...
I have been taught well I got 2 out of 3 thanks for sharing your knowledge ❤
I have to tell you that of all the big wrecker recovery videos I watch your trucks are the only ones that are totally organized and the operators don’t have to dig for the equipment. You run a good business. Hope Ethan feels better soon. Got Bless you and your family and team.
Morning Ron,interesting video as usual. I would imagine #18 will allow you to extend the working life of the rotator, and give a better maintenance schedule as well! Stay safe,God Bless! BTW glad Ethan is ok! Tell him for me,a broken down trucker, who grew up on a dairy farm,Don't abuse or take for granted your body or health! I'm paying the price now! Be smart pay attention to you body, don't abuse it! Take care God Bless! Your future is bright young Sir!
Prayers for ethan
At least you didn't get into an argument with yourself. That would be something.
Been driving a roll off truck for 25 years and now drive 2023 Western Star 47x, it's the best turning truck I've ever driven
The truck knew you needed to back up some more, it honked three times on its own when you opened the door @6:10
Ethan is OK now...!!!! Thank God...!!! We love you Ethan...!!!
Get better soon ethan
Every now and then an easy one is nice
Ethan is doing better and doing fine now...!!! Thank God...! We miss you brother...!
Good morning from New Hampshire.
That is a nice looking truck.
Good morning sir all the way from Chicago.
I liked this everyday operations kind of video! 👍
Ron seems to happy playing with the new Western star toy.
if i heard a tow operator talking to himself/herself i would think they making a training video to help others and love your videos Mr. Pratt, and Ethan get well soon and prayers
I will pray for your son's life ok. 🙏
Have a good weekend
Good video.
Agree with your comment on the audible alert for the PTO.
That telltale light is not to visible.
Great content Ron thanks 👍👍
