Animals was inspired by George Orwell's socio-political book Animal Farm/published 1945 (estonish!!!), which we read in English class at PM time. Pigs are the rulers, the oppressed by Orwell, unlike Water, it's more the moralizers. On the 1975 tour, PM played the two albums Dark Side + Wish YWH, as well as two opening songs that became later Dogs and Sheep, released 1977, an absolutely brilliant concert program. A sad detail: If you look at the end credits of the Animals songs, you realize that something was unfortunately wrong within the group and wasn't discussed new again. The Alpha animal problem was inevitable!?! Really a shame, human???
Pigs consume. they dont listen. Pigs are consuming as they always have. You both have more insight than the pigs like. I hope and pray you can stay safe.
The pigs noises are made with a « talk box », its a guitar effect, plug into the effects chains of the guitar with a long rubber / plastic tube you put in your mouth and talk into while playing. Fun fact:- the front album cover shows a giant inflatable pig flying above Battersea power station in London. After Roger Waters left the band Floyd wanted to have an inflatable pig fly over the audience on the tour, but Roger Waters said that the pig was his idea and he wouldn't give them permission to use it. After some thought they realised that Rogers pig must be female so they had a pig made with huge male genitalia which they proudly used at the gigs. Now thats how you get around a copyright problem.😂 ✌️♥️🇬🇧
I don't know if you've listened to Sheep again since your reaction, if you do listen out for the single isolated pig snort mixed in with the sheep on the outro, probably a warning that a pigs will always be there even if we win the war.
Saw this tour concert in Miami. The gigantic pig floating in the air was surreal. This band is special and such a great concept album. Yes, their messages are timeless! There are politicians now....I can think of one in particular in the US under trial, who should use this 'Pigs' as his theme song. But the irony would be too good to bear! Just replace 'Mary' with 'Donnie'. Perfect. (I am going to plug Genesis once again. I do not know why you have avoided them so adamantly.....maybe you only know their later music. Try anything from the '70s or from the Duke album)

@@rk41gator french and italian indeed
@@girs666 As a native speaker may I say your English is fine.....as is our host's English. Dominica actually has an American accent, no?
My little experience in France has taught me English is widespread, though many need coaxing to speak it. Perfection is a lofty goal. I wish I could speak French or Italian. So I am envious.
@@rk41gator thats kind :). Honeslty i think french began for few years now to speak pretty good english. Mostly because of jobs and lot of people all over the world come here and also with the internet , it became easier to learn it and totally needed for expressing or understanding
Juste one point, funny point to me as an european: you see the american accent for Dominica and i personnaly immediatly see the romanian/ east european accent 😁. See what it shows from our différents locations ? Really funny and interesting :)
Yeah perfection is not from this world and its ok , even better lol . Should be boring to be perfect 😉
Thanks again !! Merci beaucoup et je te souhaite une très bonne fin d’après-midi ( ici 5h26 PM/ 17h26)
@@girs666 Yes, the overall accent is Eastern European, but her inflections are American, rather than British. Odd with their having lived in England. But that may just be my 'ear'. Merci beaucoup et bon jour.
❤❤❤ 😎
Fun fact:- the front album cover shows a giant inflatable pig flying above Battersea power station in London.
After Roger Waters left the band Floyd wanted to have an inflatable pig fly over the audience on the tour, but Roger Waters said that the pig was his idea and he wouldn't give them permission to use it.
After some thought they realised that Rogers pig must be female so they had a pig made with huge male genitalia which they proudly used at the gigs.
Now thats how you get around a copyright problem.😂
✌️♥️🇬🇧
You should watch the Roger Waters live version in Mexico City infront of 500000 people with the Trump imagery. Insane!
i just found that video and you are correct, most insane live performance i have ever seen.
Politicians are the same the world over and over time.
If you think Trump is the problem, then, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
Watch animal farm George Orwell animated
Waters’ writing on Animals is easily his most cynical, and that’s saying something.
I hoping one day we will get some Led Zeppelin
Sheep will explain alot of why change isn't happening
“No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.”
― Winston Churchill
The name Pigs alludes to George Orwells "Animal farm" . They were the "Hitlers" of the novel where he saw what was coming, everyone was just a number, an android " working for the state". There's films/biographies/dissertatations a plenty about him. How right he was. Eric Blair was his real name, if ya want to look him up.
