    I knew the basics you go over in this video, but I want to celebrate how simply and explicitly you explain the foundational concepts of Monster Hunter. Well done! I hope you continue making more instructional videos - you're really good at them!
    P.S. I love the Diddy Kong Racing music you use in this video and in others :D

      Matias Piva thanks man, I really appreciate the comment :) I still consider myself pretty new to the talking/guide type vids so it's definitely reassuring to see that people are enjoying them and finding them useful. I'll definitely keep doing vids like these and try to improve them, along with my hunt vids :)

    I love what you're doing for the MH community. Using UA-cam to teach in detail all kinds of stuff that can't really be found elsewhere and that will make people hunt so much more efficiently! I like the idea of monster-specific tutorials, so maybe you should try that with really popular ones for MHGen or MH4U. Maybe Jho or Jang to begin with? Boy, I know how much I needed one of these to kill my first Nerscylla... Hahahahha! It's embarrassing, but it's true. I've become so much better thanks to people like you or GH or Canta and Akantorex.

    • @tirtafirdaus1991
      @tirtafirdaus1991 8 років тому +1

      yeah, i know what you mean and i fully agree with the idea of monster-specific tutorial :) my first time playing this game series, i needed straight 6 hours (with countless carts) just to beat khezu. Low rank. Village quests. Really.........
      So, for beginners, that kind of video or this kind of video, which Herny has uploaded, really helps.

    • @luizaraujo6468
      @luizaraujo6468 8 років тому

      Tirta Firdaus lol, Ikr? Khezu is always a pain but even more so when you're a beginner! Haha! I mean... I had played 3U up to mid G-rank and I still had trouble with Nerscylla on 4U. Iunno. Maybe I didn't fully understand the game mechanics or something... All I know is that I would've killed for a specific tutorial for that at the time and there was none to be found, so...

    Just randomly came across this video in my suggestions, and you just randomly got yourself one more subscriber haha Love how you explain so clearly and simply the things you try to teach about MH. Ain't really a newcomer to the Monster Hunter games but I got a lot of shit to learn and I learned a bit today, thanks to you!

    Please keep up the good work!

    Or use speed eating +2 hohoho! Different topic: I was wondering, do you like the way Monster Hunter is going? I always liked the game because of how its really skilled based meaning even if you have the best gear, if you dont know how to fight the monster you are going to get destroyed. With the introduction of MHGen with all those arts and styles I think they took away alot of the difficulty of the game and this might be the reason why I stopped playing after unlocking everything and not even reaching HR 200. Its way too easy to the point where I dont feel satisfied after killing the monster. Whats your opinion on this? If they make a MH5 would you like it to be like Gen or like older installments?

    • @Hernyy
      @Hernyy  8 років тому +4

      Rita Rubary Great question! I'm gonna make a video talking about this in detail actually, as I've been asked similar questions before. But for a quick answer, I do agree that Gen felt easier in comparison to older games, however I still loved the introduction of hunting styles and arts, and overall I feel that this was still a positive change to the series and for future games. I'll talk more about it in the video :)

    • @antott21
      @antott21 7 років тому

      Rita Rubary Wow same here, I don't know if it's the styles and hunting arts or just monsters being weaker but I felt the game was too easy. It could also be the lack of G-rank, since I recall MH4U being also too easy until I reached G. I don't know, maybe the games are getting progressively easier or maybe we're getting better, maybe a little bit of both.

    • @Itri_Vega
      @Itri_Vega 7 років тому +2

      Personally, I think that Hunters got buffed a lot in this game while the monsters didn't speed up. From 3U to 4U, the monsters became faster. Not that much, but still noticeably (take Brachydios, for instance, he's more aggressive in 4U. Or maybe his AI was just mean to me in 4U^^). In Gen, we, the Hunters, got several arts that either speed you up (Haste Rain III) or give you a huge evasion window (the two dodging arts) or even counters (Longsword and GS arts). Plus, most of us have at least played 4U, a game with G-rank and Apex monsters, so HR monsters were naturally weaker and slower and we still had "hit, but don't get hit" programmed into our experience. Deviants are a slightly different story, but if you're used to G-rank and get a decent bunch of randoms online, they're definitely not harder than G-rank monsters. I was a bit worried when they added SP mode in MHXX because that's another hunter buff, but it seems the new deviants and especially Valfalk are so fast the SP mode doesn't throw the balance off.

    • @luizaraujo6468
      @luizaraujo6468 8 років тому

      Yeah... I'd say it's pretty much your call, but here are some facts: cats help dish out more damage (if set properly); they can set traps; they can use all sorts of helpful tools and have decent AI in MHGen. However... Having 2 or 3 targets diverts monsters's attention and can make hunts considerably longer/more unpredictable/more difficult; cats can hit you in critical situations and make you cart.
      So there are pros and cons. I hunt mostly without them as I main the Hammer. But, for weapons like the Bow, there's really not much of a reason why you shouldn't bring them with you. Bombing is pawrticularly effurctive with Gunner weapons.

    • @bulbies3010
      @bulbies3010 7 років тому +2

      There is a practice mode! If you check in the village quests, there should be a tab before 1 star quests that says practice. It is basically a hunt against a great jaggi with the weapon of your choice. It also tells you how to use that weapon. They also have this same feature in generations. I hope this helped!

    • @Hernyy
      @Hernyy  8 років тому

      Christian Morrow yes! Some monsters turn right around into an attack, or vice versa, they use an attack that turns them around, you can use these to your advantage as well :) I'll try to cover some in more detail later on

      Yea i forgot what game it Was That Tigrex Got A turnaround Attack But It Really messed With How i used To Fight it, its Cool To See monsters Get changes Between Games Its Not just A buff either I think it Fits Certain Monsters More To Have These Animations like Leviathians Are Really Flexible In Movement So There Turnarounds Are Like A wip tigrex and Jho Are Aggressive So They Have A turnaround Attack and Like You Said In The Video Its The Most Commital Turnaround Vs The Basic Wvryn double Step Where They Apply Alot Of Aim for Their Next Move
