There was a solo hun against a stonefist hermitaur where it dug underground and I just didn't have time to seathe, so I literally jumped on all the stabs. Risky and unnecessary, but awesome.
Ranz I'm impressed!
Ranz haha it works
"woah, aerial is so op..."
puts aerial on
gets rekt 10 times in a row
gets back to adept
Now switch back to guild and see if you can avoid getting rekt. If you can, good on you. If you can't, then adept is a crutch you need to ditch.
Aerial is op, you just need to go aggressive
David Ji I can agree it's powerful for certain weapons, but most of the time you sacrifice some DPS for style points (even with the Airborne skill). SA and DB have good Aerial style attacks as well as IG getting a better Vault for closing distance, but even with aggressive play there's plenty of better options.
Since the SA has Demon Riot and Energy Charge, Guild/Striker will always be the best choice. DB has some amazing HAs as well, and Dash Juicing for Demon Mode will make it much stronger (Demon Mode in certain styles doesn't lose the "spin2win" attack on the X+A command, it just moved to the special button. Aerial's Demon Mode still has it on the X+A, but is irrelevant). And IG just needs the infinite combo to win, all else is a preference choice although Adept sucks at gathering extracts.
The only time Aerial actually gets an advantage are monsters with hard to reach weakzones like Redhelm Arzuros. Other than that, Aerial really isn't over or under powered. It just is. :)
Aerial is more challenging than adept tbh. And I'm not talking about not being used to the i-frames, I am. And I could switch back to adept/guild quite easily. What makes it so hard is the aim and being able to deal good damage with it.
I've practiced a lot with my aerial bow on MHGen (I know, sounds dumb) and I could kill as fast as I could with adept now. Same thing with my aerial HBG.
Yeah Arial is literally an aggressive play style and has been a life saver for me.
No one ever understood me when I said " I use aerial like adept "
thank the lord this video exist you sir have a new subscriber
ill never get how tremor gets you if youre in the air sometimes
another small and invaluable aerial tip: if you can't get to the monster or anything else to jump off of to dodge a roar, the recovery from the aerial stagger is much, much faster than on the ground for roars. Because being in the middle of your roll-flip, even if you're not near a ledge and don't have anything to vault off of, counts as being in the air, you can use it to cut the stagger time down to 1/4
aerial may not be good for speedruns but its definetly a wise choice for general solo runs
oh no u didnt see that cb master using aerial cb to speedrun a high rank kirin!!! thoes KOs and perfect timed jump attacks!!!
whos that cb master? i want to see his video pls
Muhammad Muadz apex_gaming
ty bruh
Cloud Strife I tried to use it against Amatsu
But I could barely attack it
Fantastic video, as an aerial style main in generations you definitely covered all the bases and clarified the point that needs to be made the most. Aerial Style is a counter attack style much like adept. The only real difference is that you're trading a bit of the insane MV some adept followups have for a bit more control and mounting, I personally prefer it over adept for most monsters barring a few very mobile monsters like Silverwind. All and all I think Aerial is a lovely style that I hope more players end up using and I'll definitely direct them to this video if they need help getting past the initial stiffness of the roll.
AisuMT I'm an Aerial main too but use Adept for monsters I tend to collide with midair. There is NOTHING like vaulting and yanking Rathalos out of the air!
Damn straight. I was trying to figure out where to dodge frames were since I specialize in the Aerial.
I've been playing around with Aerial CB in MHGU now that buffed it so you can use Supers instead of Ultras in midair with red shield buff. It's a really interesting style for sure. I'm probably gonna stick with Adept when I play solo but the mounting counter attacks might be more useful in a group.
Awesome guide! Watching it made me herny;)
Even though it's way too late to comment but, I really wana say thank you for this info. I kept on spamming dodge in aerial style with knowing the true benefit of this style. Thank you for explaining.
This is an incredible video! Thank you! I mainly have been using aerial switch axe for majority of my hunts and I do at times mess up my dodges and never knew the right time to dodge certain attacks and roars. This helps a great ton! :D
Your tutorial vids are awesome and informative. I had completely dismissed aerial style, thinking it gimmicky, but when you use the hop as a way into coutering monsters, it changes how I think about the style completely! Gonna try it out ^^ Thanks again and keep them coming!!
Thanks for the tips, been trying out Aerial Hammer in MHGU and I wasn't sure what I should be doing to avoid getting hit. Your video makes it pretty clear that I'm dodging too early so thanks!
I really like these more general tutorial videos! I use Aerial Vaults well enough, but I appreciate this because it may get more people to actually try Aerial and use it aggressively, but safely.
Good video! Playing since MHF2 and it's still refreshing to find those smaller but awesome channels for MH!
HR 270 with max zenny.
I really hope you have all the charms you'll ever need until the end of time.
Jhamahl Taylor lmao that's literally where all the money is from, I finally have everything I need except for like two :p
@@Hernyy I'm glad i just want gear from my fav monsties
holy crap this has given me a different outlook on Aerial style
Thank you so much for this. I always wondered why I did so much better at Aerial than Adept. I love your videos and the Solo's always make me want to try new styles and weapons. Thanks again.
Monster guides sound like a great idea and this vid was super helpful. You should tell people some of the differences between guild and striker style too in a future vid.
some tip for struggling players.
Amatsu has a really low mounting threshold. abuse it.
Thanks for making this video. A lot of hunters around the community dismiss aerial for the more direct evades of adept, and miss out on the flashy & ridiculous stuff you can pull off with the vault. This video could change some minds :)
Thanks Henry. I was trying to find those I frames. Now I won't have to worry as much since I specialize in Aerial.
Dude saib's music is like a mental flashbang for me, used to listen to his music nonstop a few years back. First few seconds i heard smooth i visibly pogged. Nice vid, im getting into aerial switchaxe and trying to learn how to not get hit with it :P
I hope u get more than 1000 subscribers as fast as possible !
My eyes have been opened, thank you for sharing the wisdom
thank you very much for this, i hated aireal style for all weapons, now with some practice im sure i can learn to love it
great video, I'm very interested in seeing more guides
I always assumed the i-frame was when the hunter reaches the apex of his jump and found it hard to time it right. The hint with the feet is awesome, though, and much easier to look out for. Also, i definitely need to learn how to use Aerial CB, so I'll give that a try as well. Thank you!
Ahh i always remember when i was practicing aerial swaxe againt glavenus and vaulted from his tail when he was doing 360 tailspin and got a mount from that. That shit was so hype i fell in love with aerial.
Dude you gained so many subs from the first guide. Congrats!
This video was extremely useful! Thank you!
its awesome vídeo. i was hating the aerial style but with your vid I've changed my mind.
I figured this playstyle out on my own while playing switch axe and it was the most rewarding thing. You learn the timing and just plow through enemies
Ohh! I really like this, but, you know what else most people are unaware of? Or at least don't know how to actually pull off? Special Draw Attacks while moving. These help A LOT and are actually quite simple to do. It might be nice to teach the command, show when to use it and when not to and then showcase all of them for each weapon. I really think it might get views, appreciation AND it would be really good for the MH community, since no one has ever done a video on this. Frankly, I play MH since Tri, I knew these existed, but only learned how to pull them off this week! Lol
Love these chill videos :)
1:47 Top ten rappers eminem is afraid to diss.
btw great video, i'm beginning my journey on mhgu next week and i'm gathering as much informations as i can :)
God man as an arial sword and shield main this hits with me on a spiritual level.
You probably planned to make this video before I even commented on the last dodging video, but I'd like to think I made this video happen... like about 0.00000001% involvement. Love your videos Herny!
while the CB set is definitely nice, and it has been made now, i was more interested in the set you're wearing during the rajang clips. it's a great video, i've subscribed!
liked and subbed. I love aerial style so this was very helpful =D
The video was quite informative. There is a bit of a delay to the roll as you covered but the roll is also a bit longer than other styles. If your not careful you can over or under shoot your roll and get punished for it. I've used aerial bow on more than a few successful solo hunts and it is just as strong as other weapons and styles. As long as you exploit the monsters weak spots while its down you should have no problem damage wise.
Aerial gunlance here. Thanks for the video. Helps alot in mhgu. Trying to take down a brachydios .
I love the Aerial style! I primarily use it for the Insect Glaive, S&S, and Switch Axe. It's a shame Great Sword isn't optimal in this style, but the jumping attack paired with Punishing Draw and Knockout King is interesting to say the least.
Thank you for this. Before I had seemed this I'd Spam Ariel hits as a mounting master then dish out the damage with Charge Blade axe form. Now Ik how to do this without getting hit so often
I feel like you're a good teacher. Direct and to the point, never boring, with great examples and good timing to strengthen understanding and retention. That's a great skill set there. I'm honestly pretty jealous. :P
Aerial was the first style that I tried on MHgen on DB and it was a LOT of fun paired up with the free MDJs oh man.
awesome work dude keep it up!
Beautiful! as simple as that.
Great video, you remind me of the smash guide youtuber Jtails
the best feeling is jumping on a glavenus tail when he does his charge attack and then just hitting him in the face.
Ive already been doing this with aerial bowguns and insect glaive. But its nice that more people are learning about this
god choice in music
Found this very helpful since I like using the Swaxe in MHW:I and MH Rise... but transitioning to MHGU was tough as nails lol. I have a tendency to dodge slightly too early or slightly late so learning this without relying on Adept while doing flashy chops is fun as hell.
im pretty sure theres s at the tiny roll in the beginning too that are affected by evasion+
There are,i have used an aerial DB set on arena quest with evasion +2 and have evaded through attack with that
What armor do you have on, the one with the hood? It looks really cool what's the name of it?
Congrats on 1K subs o///
im also an aerial main and would like to say there is nothing like knocking a velocidrome straight out of the air as it leaps for me. :)
I feel like the only Aeriel set who is forgiven from the rule of of spamming its mount attack is the crit draw great swords. Jumping on the head and criting it almost always nukes in a ton damage wise. You can go for flashy combos after but beating the poor beast on its head over and over is pure satisfaction.
i never once used aerial style. gona try it now :D
The first time I used aerial style I was like: OHHHH MYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOD
One of the most satisfying things is dodging the Glavenus' terrible tail spin with aerial style.
Noticing that Duals REALLY shine here, a slew of attacks when you demon and then monsties tuck their tails and ruuuun.
I love how ironically overpowered the aerial glaive is.
This video is giving me a Hernya D:
what armor-set is at the beginning?
"Abusing" is a strong word considering how awful the dodge itself is compared to the real dodge
the part about the s is wrong. the aerial dodge has 3 spots for s: 1 starts immediately after pressing the button, luke a normal roll, and has the same frames. the second is at the apex of the jump, about where Herny said, and those s are integral to landing vaults on attacks. the third is immediately when you land, and it behaves like a normal dodge. if you land a vault, that also has its own s, and a lot of them. almost 100% of the time, if a monster is attacking you and you want to vault off the attack, you'll need the apex frames to keep you safe as you go through the attack to land on the monster for the vault, so good timing is necessary for the vault. the vault can also happen at any point while you are in the air, but only the apex gets those extra non-vault s.
This entire time I just thought that aerial had no I-frames. :I
Dope video I agree with this video tbh but as for your lack of a way to explain when to roll its because it's something you learn through experience and feeling
Best aerial weapons... IMO.
Dual blades, Great sword, Hammer, Axe and the guns, both of em
have you tried aerial switch axe?
it's a lot of fun
Damn, mind blown.
Still watching 2021 happy new year! Using aerial on double cross now coming fron mhgen on my n3dsxl. Bec. No switch 🤣🤣
armor and weps at the i-frame demonstration? they look cool
veryy nice vid, never knew this about aerial. I wonder if this still stays true for the lance with it's slightly different aerial hop. I mostly use the lance so I don't use aerial much .
Vanni De Pieri For Lance and Gunlance, NO I-Frames, though you'll get the Aerial Guard during the Boost Jump.
ok, thank you
holyshit didnt know this thanx subbed
I miss aerial style, just jumping on a glavenus when it did that beyblade attack is the shit
As a matter of fact, i don't know how many times i've miraculously dodged an attack because of that roll after a failed attempt at jumping. I think it's a bit lower that a normal roll and lets you roll under most of the attacks that a normal roll would not be able to.
I love the game and I played it for years now. But I never really got a grasp over armor skills. How do you know what skills you need and want?
In other words, when Rajang is gonna spinball you, say 1, 2, then roll
question did you do a low rank quest for this video?? (also I'm a main Ariel and striker stile user and this gave me some really good idea's for some stilish counters and dudge's Thanks man)
Kazuma DoubleIce np glad u enjoyed the vid :) and yes I do an online low rank Glavenus because I didn't want the video to be too long and I just wanted a quick hunt for demonstration purposes
Herny okay, again thanks for the idea's on Ariel evation and happy hunting.
great vid, thx for the info. Now, why do i keep failing at vaulting off of a bomb? lol (sry i'm sure this has been asked already)
thesh00ter Are you jumping through the Barrel Bomb L+?
Seems like this is the true "adept" style when used correctly to counterattack (rather than spam aerial attacks)
What armor do you have on, the one with the hood? It looks really cool what's the name of it?!!!!
I came here to like the vid. Worth the 5 secs. Bye!
please share the first set you were wearing with the one hand duel blade !
Aerial IG spam is too much fun tho
Aerial HH. I Doot in the air as well as on the ground.
Wow I had no idea aerial style could dodge attacks with the vault...
so helpful
I'm new to the Charge Blade - how in heavens do you turn so quick, in mid-air, to strike Glavenus on top of head? How you KO him with CB? Please teach. I'm curious.
One time I vaulted over a rathalos fire ball.... It was epic
If you purposely train yourself to jump over attacks, it'll become normal to do so.
you'll never need a ration again XD
i started using airial style for GS early on
What dual blade is that one with the 1 orange sword?
herny, can i please talk with you about aerial charge blade over discord or youtube private messages? everyone on the mh discord is hating on it. but i enjoy it and want to grow with it
With me I sort of get a feel for it
What is that armor + weapon? looks pretty cool, especially the single sword.
The weapon is the "dual blade" Light Cypher, it can be made from items you get from the dlc quest "Strider: Frozen Mission"
Hey Herny! What is that helmet equip that you are wearing along with the lodestar equipment? It looks really cool and I plan on making for an endgame goal
EDIT: After lurking in the comments I found the equipment
Airial bowgun is the best
the name of the flip is webster flip... :)
Thank u u r a god 🙏
