*For those who wanted the rest of the reactions don't forget to hit the sub button*
This album currently sits at a 92/100 on Metacritic. Also, they're charting higher on Spotify's Viral 50 that Taylor Swift and Drake. I see THAT as a win!
Even Fantano gave it a 9.
Absolutely incredible album that just constantly hits.
It's top 5 album of the year on many platforms encompassing all genres
Man I need to listen to some Lorna Shore to unwind after this.
lorna shore to unwind is crazy
I remember thinking Lorna would be one of the "heaviest" viral hits from this scene, then KL breaks loose. It's an interesting time in this music universe
So real, no kidding
Seriously hahahahaha
Take Me Home genuinely made me scared, great song
Moss + Take Me Home is eerie
I found it funny how this album didn't phase me in the slightest on an emotional level cause of not just how much extreme metal I've listened to but also from listening to so much Humanity's Last Breath last year😅
The album title being “you won’t go before you’re supposed to” and the final words on the entire album being “if I finally choose to sleep … this life can be way too much; why’d you leave? I feel like I’ve failed”
Whooo man what a record.
Bro the quiet birds chirping leading into that last breakdown!!
bro sit and mourn made me feel things.. that riff is fucking tremendous.. what an album closer
The distorted ambient thing with the birds chirping is a cool little theme in this album. I heard it on Suffocate, The Calm That Keeps You Awake, Blinding Faith, and Sit & Mourn. It's so cool. Makes you feel like you're the girl in the album cover
Every time I hear birds in real life I now think of this album
@@LivingInTragedyholy fuck birds are a knocked loose reference?!?!
@@wiggymatters😭
@@LivingInTragedyon the friday it came out, i went in a shop and i could've sworn to go that the humming the fridges made was the same as on the album
I think it's also at the start of Thirst
Such a good album, you can tell Brian losing his grandma made this albums lyrics and theme darker than the past albums.
Didn't his grandma pass away just last month though? This album had to have been written long before that.
@cloneboy42 I'm sure she was ill for some time so the concepts of loss and grief were definitely there for a while
Is that what the album is about
Sit and Mourn is so god damn good
It's an incredible song. So fucking dark.
Sit and Mourn is probably my SONG of the year.
Aoty is still up in the air but This and Sysc new album are my top 2 .
New Darko album in June 🤭
@@killianwithrow6813 What I'm waiting for 💖
Sit and mourn was on repeat today for sure.
real for mentioning SYSC
Just saw them live last night for the third time and I feel like Bryan has never sounded so god damn hellish, it's fucking great.
Seattle's set was nuts. My body still hurts
dude right?! pit was crazy
I saw them in March and they absolutely killed it.
I don't think any show can top opening with Deep in the Willow and ending with Everything is Quiet Now.
I think Nik found a band he likes more than Spiritbox
This album is almost iowa level of unnerving and I needed this in my life
Iowa is the fking GOAT I miss those slipknot days
I literally searched for this video the exact MOMENT it came out.
same
If knocked loose did an ep like tear in the fabric of life, but modern/analog horror based, I’d be down for that
It’s funny seeing harder to please reviewers like Fantano and Bradley heavily praising this album while the Metal and Hardcore communities are simultaneously hating on it.
let them enjoy their mediocore
I think that's because a lot of hardcore and metal fans see a great album as an album that accomplishes everything at once, while more explored listeners see a great album in a more realistic sense where an album should be critiqued against it's own creators intentions. this album was everything it tried to be.
@@dustinfotoIt’s not medio-core, it’s radio-core.
And honestly, people should stop generalizing the “metal” community. There are like 40 different sub-genres and everyone wants to guard their little corner of it.
I prefer Knocked loose and Falling in Reverse to your typical radio-core, octane-core sounds. A lot of people get their metal from Spotify and Octane and it shows as well.
I like what I like. People won’t change my opinion; in particular, clowns like Fantano who clearly gives his opinion based on what he thinks will generate the most clicks or views.
….who is hating on it?
Idk at this point I'm a borderline metal dinosaur (31) and grew up on the early 2000s deathcore and I thought this album was awesome. So was Dealers that dropped the same day.
Is this album more "radio" friendly compared too their older stuff, sure. Im okay with that, it'll start to break down the wall for other metal bands too gain the popularity we all think they deserve. 15-20 years ago this kind of stuff wouldnt have been within a mile of a radio station/hit chart and I think that's pretty cool.
This album shows that Knocked Loose has become masters of the genre. The record is pushing the metalcore genre to new extremes. A true masterpiece.
isn`t it hardcore?
@@andreydiachenko2696both
@@andreydiachenko2696it is
Knocked loose are hardcore tho
Knocked loose describes themselves as a verge between hardcore and metalcore
That part at the end of Take Me Home when at the peak of the dissidence "FUUCKIT" then it cuts to old time country feels like waking up from a nightmare and I can't get it out of my mind.
Who else was at the LA show where they brought Poppy out? Shit was wild. Saw them bring her out at sick new world as well and she killed it both times
I was at the LA show, that was so hype when she came out!
All about people bringing other artists on songs out live but how anyone can say that poppys parts live are anything but a dumpster fire is beyond me.
@ashburncitystandup9707 yeah her voice on the suffocate recording is really good but her voice live is horrible imo
I saw Poppy live in 2020 during her I Disagree era and the screams were great. She’s legit. Hate to say it but maybe you just have to be there live to hear it. 🧐
Poppy is horrendous live lol
They have officially knocked me loose
0:34 someone in the chat timed "JUMPSCARE INCOMING" perfecty
The final track sit & mourn just makes me think this is written for about and Bry's grandmother that just recently passed away.
It might not be, but when bry spoke about the loss when they played at midnight hour, he spoke about how important she was to him.
I love that even though this is a highlight clip, it’s still more than half the length of the full album.
You know when ANTHONY FANTANO gives this a HIGH 9, BOARDERING ON 10- with his ear for music, sound quality, production and music quality in general- that this album is the real deal.
Also, Brad Taste in Music compared this to Converge’s Jane Doe. I agree with him.
I defo got jane doe vibes but more hardcore than metalcore on this album than jane doe
Anthony fantano has some of the worst fucking opinions on music I have seen
@@cyclicwarrior2570oh man do you
Taste is opinion, it's not based on anything really then what you like, I don't like guacamole, but I'm not right, I just don't like it.
@@cyclicwarrior2570I’d say best. The man KNOWS what he’s talking about. The only review I disagree with him on is Sempiternal.
Sit & Mourn is spiritual
Kevin Kaine is now my favorite drummer. Y’all better be turning up the sustain on your snare to the max!🥁🤘
I never got into knocked loose until their singles this year came out. Now it’s grown on me.
Waiting for this, thanks for uploading
I love when ridiculously heavy bands can make really intentional and artistic albums. Black Tongue's last two albums are similar. Fucking stupid heavy but really really well crafted and artsy. Such a great thing. AOTY
Sit and Mourn is one of my top songs of the year and this is my aoty (Darko might take that spot, though).
Im so hype for the new darko album 😂
If this album was literally any longer it would probably be way too much. Perfectly designed for what it is.
Nothing but love on this one. Love how short it is too. Front to back clean
It's must be album of the year
ofc only if Vildhjarta will hold until 2025
Vildhjarta clears
Thank you so much for the "unedited" reactions to the rest of the album! Album reactions live are always lost to the ether.
the outro for the calm that keeps you awake is so brutal
Haven’t been a huge knocked loose fan, but this new album is sick. The recording and mix is so heavy and awesome. Sit and mourn is definitely my favorite track and my favorite song I’ve heard from them.
Oh my fucking God!
Nic: I love dynamic shifts...
*BAM! Dynamic Shift*
I honestly can't stop listening to it, it's so fucking good. I hate that it's only 27 minutes long, but I also think that contributes to why I love it.
This has topped Tear EP and Upon Loss singles for me, so fucking good from start to finish
The music at the end of Take Me Home reminds me of Brand New's Noro album with their endings
Those groovy tribal beats with a twist at the beginning of track 8 really stands out here.
This was painfully amazing!!! Felt like watching the hills have eyes.
I saw someone in chat say Sit and Mourn reminded them of TDWP, I totally agree, it kind of sounds and feels like Hallucinate in the best way
The transitions on this album are absolutely insane. I was wondering why the song was kinda long but i just had listened to 4 songs in a row...
That melodic riff in the last track reminds me of a system of a down style riff like Mr. Jack for example. Incredible album!! So happy i will get to see them in their prime next month!
I saw them in Seattle last night. Literally got two teeth knocked loose in the pit. That place was MOVING
I feel like everything described in the song a little peice of heaven just happened to me, and I like it
Tony and brad both gave the album a 9.
I'm pretty sure that's all the ad they need
Loved the album
Just.. Wow. That gave some feels.
Someone called this Radio-core. 💀
If this was on the radio, I'd actually listen to it again, but we cant even get butt rock there... reason I have Sirius
@@AdmiralJT low-key my alt/indie rock station has been bumping Animal I've Become and Lost.
That someone must be a wee bit special
I find it so interesting all the small references that I found listening to the album. So many of the songs remind me of Norma Jean, particularly the “All Hail” and “Meridional” albums. I also found things that remind me of The Chariot specifically in “Take me home”.
Also when listening to “The calm that keeps you awake” I got a strong Living Sacrifice vibe. And I also get a bit of Mychildren Mybride here and there.
But the funniest little reference is at the very end of “Sit and mourn” the voice in the end immediately reminded me of Porter Robinson/Virtual Self.
It’s weird to listen to something that feels to familiar, yet so new and heavy.
I’d love to hear what other references y’all have found in the album 😊
Sit and mourn reminds me of shattered by currents but in the best way
Seeing then live next month. I'm scared
I’ve had the album on repeat since it dropped.
I know they’re a different deal, but KL is the only band that keeps filling the void that The Dillinger Escape Plan left when they stopped playing a few years ago and Architects became meh.
I’m in love with Knocked loose drummer He’s hands down the best one
This album goes up there with Axe To Fall and No Absolutes In Human Suffering. We've hit another milestone in hardcore.
Great taste. Two masterpieces
@@krich7581 No Absolutes is one of my favorite albums ever, regardless of genre. It's just such a powerful experience.
Moss and take me home are by far my fav tracks
The calm did keep me awake to wait for this album 😂
I had mixed feelings after the first time I listened to this album as a whole. I expected it to be less melodic. But now after a few listens I love it more and more. My favorite album of the year so far. 💪
"Knocked Loose were cool before they went mainstream and super woke."
-A comment I've seen a few times the last few days, sadly. Sigh.
The literal first song on the first knocked loose album was about Bryan’s best friend that (happened to be gay) being the victim of a hate crime.
The man helped write Slaughterhouse and wrote Slaughterhouse 2, both songs with blatantly anti-fascist, socialist talking points.
Knocked Loose is based as all hell and they’ve been leftist their whole career. Most hardcore and Metalcore bands are that way.
Conservatives shouldn’t ask Kublai khan what True Fear or No Kin is about.
@ryanbollinger1759 or B.C. or dropping plates ,
Or Ya knows Swan song.
Knocked loose are my favourite mainstream pop band
But aren’t politics inherently part of hardcore as an offshoot of punk?
@@_Xypes_Yes. Strictly a leftist genre. Conservatives get pushed out of the genre extremely quickly and even are subject to violence at shows. Bigotry is not tolerated at hardcore shows.
I don't think you know what "based," means.
My culture is not a costume.

Album of the year
My only complaint: why is the album so short? >:( now i have to go back and listen to their other stuff!
Everything from Different shade of blue onwards is incredible imo!
1:32 dude that’s some Joey Jordison shit right here
Glad someone else noticed that lol
My only criticism is that the catchiest songs were already released as singles, and it’s under 30 minutes lol
So angry!! Best album by far🤘
FINALLY
That last song is! 👌👌👌
These guys are built so different man
0:34 it’s like a Slipknot intro
even disliking this kind of vocals super high all the time i bounced hard for this album, damn, heavy asf
same here, when i first heard bryan's vocals i wasn't big of a fan but this album goes so hard and i loved every track of it
it grows on you and now im hooked
It reminds me heavily of Remembering Never’s first album “women and children die first” especially the chuggy breakdowns.
More Cow bell 8:05
I went from being a long time listener of electronic (along with some rock and hip-hop here and there), finding out about Spiritbox through a collab they did with Illenium and I was like "is that her fucking screaming???" and suddenly Im getting immersed in their music. Then I found out about Sleep Token and while it took a bit to get on board with them..I am nevertheless fully in.......Then I hear this band, and I'm quickly realizing Spiritbox and Sleep Token's heavier/dissonant grooves were the palate cleanser before watching this video 🤣🤣🤣
heard of this band but literally never listened to them until today..and I'm sold!🤘🤘🤘
I would love an instrumental version of this album...
How do these people survive these fucking shows jesus christ
Album of the year for sure 🤘🏼
Bryan’s voice is sooooooo fugging awesome it fits this kind of music so damn well …. 100000000% pure old school hardcore voice ❤️❤️ this album is creepy af and violent I love it
Wow this is pretty good
seeing them with show me the body in like 2 weeks im so hype
loved em since laugh tracks and a different shade of blue and seeing them blow up like this feels like a fever dream
This album takes it for explosions of the year.
Yo Nik did you listen the new Dealer album? I think the guy needs a second chance..
Best Hardcore Album this year
Fantastic album
I really want to see his reaction to Sit and Mourn.
Edit: Yeah, that's what I was hoping for!
Would love to see Paula on this first listen too
Album of the year hands down!
We're only 5 month in, let's see what the future has for us 😂
So far anyway!

Album of the YEAR. I felt the same only when untouchables from KORN came out years ago.
yes
the creepy song from this album is like the tattered&torn of the Slipknot eponym album, it's so good !
🔥🔥
This album really is a ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️ to other music lol like holy fuck this is hard
I'm watching this on my couch with my fat dog "that I've trained to say arf arf" eating cheesets
Progressive hardcore grind
