This album currently sits at a 92/100 on Metacritic. Also, they're charting higher on Spotify's Viral 50 that Taylor Swift and Drake. I see THAT as a win!
I remember thinking Lorna would be one of the "heaviest" viral hits from this scene, then KL breaks loose. It's an interesting time in this music universe
The album title being “you won’t go before you’re supposed to” and the final words on the entire album being “if I finally choose to sleep … this life can be way too much; why’d you leave? I feel like I’ve failed” Whooo man what a record.
The distorted ambient thing with the birds chirping is a cool little theme in this album. I heard it on Suffocate, The Calm That Keeps You Awake, Blinding Faith, and Sit & Mourn. It's so cool. Makes you feel like you're the girl in the album cover
@@LivingInTragedyon the friday it came out, i went in a shop and i could've sworn to go that the humming the fridges made was the same as on the album
I found it funny how this album didn't phase me in the slightest on an emotional level cause of not just how much extreme metal I've listened to but also from listening to so much Humanity's Last Breath last year😅
I saw them in March and they absolutely killed it. I don't think any show can top opening with Deep in the Willow and ending with Everything is Quiet Now.
The final track sit & mourn just makes me think this is written for about and Bry's grandmother that just recently passed away. It might not be, but when bry spoke about the loss when they played at midnight hour, he spoke about how important she was to him.
It’s funny seeing harder to please reviewers like Fantano and Bradley heavily praising this album while the Metal and Hardcore communities are simultaneously hating on it.
I think that's because a lot of hardcore and metal fans see a great album as an album that accomplishes everything at once, while more explored listeners see a great album in a more realistic sense where an album should be critiqued against it's own creators intentions. this album was everything it tried to be.
@@dustinfotoIt’s not medio-core, it’s radio-core. And honestly, people should stop generalizing the “metal” community. There are like 40 different sub-genres and everyone wants to guard their little corner of it. I prefer Knocked loose and Falling in Reverse to your typical radio-core, octane-core sounds. A lot of people get their metal from Spotify and Octane and it shows as well. I like what I like. People won’t change my opinion; in particular, clowns like Fantano who clearly gives his opinion based on what he thinks will generate the most clicks or views.
Idk at this point I'm a borderline metal dinosaur (31) and grew up on the early 2000s deathcore and I thought this album was awesome. So was Dealers that dropped the same day. Is this album more "radio" friendly compared too their older stuff, sure. Im okay with that, it'll start to break down the wall for other metal bands too gain the popularity we all think they deserve. 15-20 years ago this kind of stuff wouldnt have been within a mile of a radio station/hit chart and I think that's pretty cool.
I saw Poppy live in 2020 during her I Disagree era and the screams were great. She’s legit. Hate to say it but maybe you just have to be there live to hear it. 🧐
I love when ridiculously heavy bands can make really intentional and artistic albums. Black Tongue's last two albums are similar. Fucking stupid heavy but really really well crafted and artsy. Such a great thing. AOTY
That part at the end of Take Me Home when at the peak of the dissidence "FUUCKIT" then it cuts to old time country feels like waking up from a nightmare and I can't get it out of my mind.
I honestly can't stop listening to it, it's so fucking good. I hate that it's only 27 minutes long, but I also think that contributes to why I love it.
Haven’t been a huge knocked loose fan, but this new album is sick. The recording and mix is so heavy and awesome. Sit and mourn is definitely my favorite track and my favorite song I’ve heard from them.
That melodic riff in the last track reminds me of a system of a down style riff like Mr. Jack for example. Incredible album!! So happy i will get to see them in their prime next month!
I went from being a long time listener of electronic (along with some rock and hip-hop here and there), finding out about Spiritbox through a collab they did with Illenium and I was like "is that her fucking screaming???" and suddenly Im getting immersed in their music. Then I found out about Sleep Token and while it took a bit to get on board with them..I am nevertheless fully in.......Then I hear this band, and I'm quickly realizing Spiritbox and Sleep Token's heavier/dissonant grooves were the palate cleanser before watching this video 🤣🤣🤣 heard of this band but literally never listened to them until today..and I'm sold!🤘🤘🤘

Saw them at the Boeing Center few days ago and I gotta say, easily on of the best live band out right now. Moss Covers to Take me Home was godly execution
I'm seeing a lot of people talk about how this is more radio-friendly and I'm very confused. I love their whole discography and this is some of their most brutal stuff, the grooves on a lot of these songs are unmatched.
I’ve had the album on repeat since it dropped. I know they’re a different deal, but KL is the only band that keeps filling the void that The Dillinger Escape Plan left when they stopped playing a few years ago and Architects became meh.
I find it so interesting all the small references that I found listening to the album. So many of the songs remind me of Norma Jean, particularly the “All Hail” and “Meridional” albums. I also found things that remind me of The Chariot specifically in “Take me home”. Also when listening to “The calm that keeps you awake” I got a strong Living Sacrifice vibe. And I also get a bit of Mychildren Mybride here and there. But the funniest little reference is at the very end of “Sit and mourn” the voice in the end immediately reminded me of Porter Robinson/Virtual Self. It’s weird to listen to something that feels to familiar, yet so new and heavy. I’d love to hear what other references y’all have found in the album 😊

Didn't his grandma pass away just last month though? This album had to have been written long before that.
