I just can't get the right compression with my voice. People think because they have yelled at someone before that it must be the same thing. It is not. It wasn't until a couple of years ago when I realised that there is am art to screaming properly, and the voice doesn't wear out at all when it is done right, that I finally realised how talented metal singers are.
Thank you for giving this the recognition it deserves. Coz yeah, to do all that scraping, exorcist the distended variety of screams, and to do it all the time, without damaging your voice, that takes real technique and skill. And they aren't the and techniques you need for regular singing. Trying to scream a ton without knowing what you're doing, you can actually harm your voice. So it bugs the hem of of me when people say "anyone can do that." Coz of that's true, then you go do it. Oh what's that? You can't clap back anymore cuz you tried and blew out your voice? Thought so. Eh, at least we'd finally get a moment of peace of everyone who thought screaming was easy DID actually go and try it
Hearing about the hug and real heartfelt moment backstage puts it into perspective that these are people! People in a band, normal people just like those sitting on the sofa at home watching. Good for Knocked Loose and Poppy freaking people out that didn't have the common sense of turning the channel! I agree with Rock Feed that Kimmel needs more metal bands. ❤
“Anyone can scream into a mic” People don’t understand the level of talent it takes to preform like that. You’re exerting yourself for hours on stage and it’s not just screaming 🤦🏻♂️there’s a science to it
Poppy is the one I am a fan of but I do appreciate the people she works with and this year has been absolutely a banner year for Moriah and the bands she worked with. I hope Poppy and Knocked Loose win the Grammy they are nominated for!
I can't stand when people cry about not being able to understand the lyrics. Most of the time the people who say it listen to music with the most ignorant lyrics imaginable. Half the pop singers aren't even saying anything when they're just belting out high notes and nobody says sh*t about it. Classical composers didn't even have lyrics, is that not music? People are dumb.
As a vocalist it pisses me off when people say it takes no talent. You try it and not tear your throat apart, because they don’t know how to use their diaphragm.

If STP ends up on Jimmy Kimmel to perform a song, they gotta wear the masks. Alex and Tom show up without the masks, the when it's time to play on 'stage' the masks come out.
They shouldn’t apologize. It’s a variety show. They have all kinds of guests on and this needs to be included. Some guests aren’t for everyone. They have authors, actors, musicians, viral stars, influencers, presidents, family members, and whoever else. What they should apologize for not doing research or asking the guests about stuff they obviously can’t talk about. Ik they’re there for a plug but still.
I’m so glad that those people were disturbed. They are not are kind and never will be. I hope they put more metal bands on the show. Love to disturb the enemy. Horns up!!!
1. Metal is one of the most popular genres around the world (more than country) 2. It’s Jimmy Kimmel’s show, not yours.
So it bugs the hem of of me when people say "anyone can do that."
Coz of that's true, then you go do it.
Be proud of their achievement, where it started. Don't bash it just because you don't like it. I am happy for them!
No autotune in sight
Maybe that’s what scared the kid? 😂
Autotune doesn't have to be a problem in metal
Just a backing track 😂
Yea, rock doesn’t really use auto tune, so? Making fun of rap music makes you like every pearl clutching grandma who got mad at knocked loose on Kimmel
@@freshpersimmon9515 Hang on... knocked loose is metal not rock
Jimmy should show an Ice Nine Kills music video next
Its essentially another instrument in a metal band. The vocals. Normies just wouldn't get it.
What a graceful response.
I’ve never heard of this band before. I’m more of a classic metal guy (Maiden,Priest,Ozzy,Megadeth) and not really a fan of Cookie Monster vocals, but it’s always great to see metal brought to the masses.
Good for Knocked Loose and Poppy freaking people out that didn't have the common sense of turning the channel! I agree with Rock Feed that Kimmel needs more metal bands. ❤
“Anyone can scream into a mic” People don’t understand the level of talent it takes to preform like that. You’re exerting yourself for hours on stage and it’s not just screaming 🤦🏻♂️there’s a science to it
some people haven't seen At the Drive In on Conan and it shows.
My 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter love metal, I think their kid will be alright.
Next time I hear a classical song, I’m gonna tell someone “I just can’t understand the lyrics” haha! That’s brilliant 😎🫡
Saw Knocked Loose at Knotfest this year and they put on an amazing show! So happy they got this opportunity!
Oh, please. Check out what Fear did on SNL back in the day.
As a vocalist it pisses me off when people say it takes no talent. You try it and not tear your throat apart, because they don’t know how to use their diaphragm.
FOR REAL, and the guitarists, drummers and bassists in metal are the most technical musicians of all time
Hell yeah. Glad to see Bryan doesn't give a shit what Karen's think
Hearing about this makes me proud that my 5 year old boy loves metal just like me ❤️
2:06. Head to Nik Nocturnal's merch store for this one. He has an amazing shirt about this that would be a perfect gift for the Christmas season. 😅
My curiosity got the best of me and I googled it. Hilarious shirt, I love it.
Junt!
Seeing Slayer and Arch Enemy in concert as a kid was so dope
Video starts 3:10
Gracias
If people complain about your music and say you are scary, you made it in metal. Good job Knocked Loose, you made it. I hope Lorna Shore will be next
This along with Gojira at the Olympics could really make metal popular again
Hell yea! Knocked Loose fan for almost a decade and glad this band got big! Haters gon hate as they say
The "controversy" feels so forced, just the same small handful of comments shown by every channel.
My toddler, who is not even 2, loves when guitars go “junt”😂
1:39 Or you could just turn it off, since that’s how videos work. Not surprising that Jimmy Kimmel fans are crying like 3 year olds over something they don’t understand.
I don't get why people are so mad, knocked loose is ADORABLE 🥰
🤘JUNT🤘
I actually showed my the performance of suffocate to my 10 month old daughter. There was no screaming or crying just a smile and her happy dance. Hopefully it one day she watches it again and it inspires her to dream big and reach for the stars!
Can’t stand Kimmel!
He is fake as hell
Saw knocked loose a couple years ago and they were insane!!!!
I love metal music, and I also hate screaming babies. So, their logic is flawed 😂.
Beat me to it.
I haven't stopped laughing since I first heard about the "controversy" last week 😂
Knocked Loose is teenie bopper metal, fight me..
That's it! We're fighting!
@ thems’ faightin’ werds..
HADOKEN!
Viewer complaints are hilarious. How the hell do these people exist if THIS offends them.
20 bucks the teenager that cried is being raised by a single mother
It was beautiful ❤😍we need more bands to come up out on stages like that it show people the culture of metal deathcore screamo punk etc…. It was a awesome show they put on love the band rock on 🤘🏻
This is a PR stunt. Nobody was "outraged."
Have you ever met a Kimmel viewer? Outrage is their knee-jerk response to anything they don’t understand. Lots of crying and whining about why they were “forced” to hear this.
@Scientist_Salarian No I haven't because there's no such thing as a Kimmel viewer. None of these bozos have an audience. They suck and their ratings are trash.
It made me happy and full of joy after work. Heck I would’ve moshed in the bus hearing this after headbanging too it. Loved it
The only thing scary about it is how many people enjoy such an awful cookie cutter metal band.
Amen brother
I demand an apology from the people demanding an apology.
Knocked loose sucks, I love heavy music, but they suck. No groove, no melodies, dimebag wouldn't approve
Straight facts!! Finally, someone else said it
That performance was amazing!! I played it like ten times in a row 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love metal but can't stand the singers voice from Knocked loose. It sounds like a whiny little kid screaming .
You’re one to talk lol
Straight facts bro. He needs to sing like a man not Mickey Mouse
Ok they need to not be so angry about their kid crying. Its a late night show, not a family watch a long 💀💀💀
Took my children to see knocked loose when they were 8 & 17 months old and they absolutely loved it
Those were tears of joy from that adolescent kid. He heard something really beautiful.
I want someone to make a shirt that says
"Chug? Nah, I junt."
I'll buy that shit in a heartbeat.
I had only lisened to Slaughterhouse 2 before this (because of MiW) but they are both bangers so I will be looking more into knocked lose now.
Y'know he's gonna double down & have a band like Cannibal Corpse or Dying Fetus on his show next
If your kid was scared of the performance then stop letting them watch it??? Take some effin responsiblity, jeez
I can’t be the only one that remembers when I See Stars played on Jimmy Kimmel right?
If my kid started crying I would disown them
Your kid cries and fears something is a good thing, what scares you will eventually makes you stronger! Parents tend to forget this.
It's pretty rad to see a band like this on a talk show, but it's not the first time it's happened. Never heard of this band, and I wasn't vibing with the song, but it caught my attention to check them out. Always trying to discover new music from awesome bands and that's the fun in it all!
ain’t no way they had to apologize man people rlly need to expand their music tastes
Why is a kid watching or wanting watch Jimmy Kimmel just out of curiosity
Dude! Thank you for being such an amazing source for rock and metal news. Can you look into something that's gone back about 4 years now? Deadsy is already at year 4 of the Phantasmagore vinyl pre-order, and nobody has gotten a vinyl or refund STILL. Wanna poke the bear, Rock Feed? I'm kinda curious what happened.
"Anyone can yell lyrics and get paid" Yeah okay, sure, I'd like to see you attempt that without any vocal training LMAOO 😆
If someone uses the word JUNT then they are definitely a fan, and that's a fake comment
"THE CEILING GETS HIGHER FOR EVERYONE, EVERY SINGLE DAY" ❤🔥💪🌎
If STP ends up on Jimmy Kimmel to perform a song, they gotta wear the masks.
My granddaughters and I loved it!
"If it scared you, good!" is the BEST response EVER!
Saw them open for slipknot few months back, never heard of them, they put on a show! happy for them!!
I can’t stop watching this.
I’m so glad that those people were disturbed. They are not are kind and never will be. I hope they put more metal bands on the show. Love to disturb the enemy. Horns up!!!
1. Metal is one of the most popular genres around the world (more than country)
2. It’s Jimmy Kimmel’s show, not yours. Just because you aren’t a fan of the genre, doesn’t mean the band doesn’t deserve recognition.
3. If you don’t like it, fine, the next show will have a different artist. But expecting a formal apology because you didn’t like the sound of the band is such a weenie reaction.
