Ok. Yes this does work and I was so shocked at the shine afterward. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much man. I followed your instructions and it worked like magic! I had a scuff on my white car and now it's like nothing ever happened.
Miss the videos. Thank you for doing all the work to give us the great content.
Mother's lens cleaner also works great, as doe rubbing compound for deeper scratches and brush marks, but apply LIGHTLY !
This has just worked wonders for my car which had minor but visible scratches. Thanks for sharing.
hello from Australia, thank you brother, cleaned up my wife's car last night, the silver bumper had some black bumps that are gone now! brilliant
Thank you for sharing. I haven't tried this yet but this a great fathers day gift. Happy Father's Day!
I actually used mouthwash and a grinder on my new Tundra because we all know that mouth wash burns so it works much faster. I tell ya my truck really shines now! Thanks for the great tip!
oh yeah it's the alcohol in the mouthwash, it reacts with and burns off the scratches. Just some good old chemistry to the rescue!
Ratchets And Wrenches Yes simple chemistry there...
South Main Auto Repair does that work on the blade of a pocket knife?
hey ,if anyone else trying to find out car paint spraying courses try Jaffacter Paint Sprayer Coach ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my buddy got great results with it.
Guys! Help! toothpaste ruined my car paint :( I have a black car and I used toothpaste on a little area with scratches on my car. I've only left it for less than 3 minutes and when I washed it off, the area looked lighter and didn't look as glossy as the rest! Can waxing fix it?
This actually works lol, i wrote something on the hood of my car with chalk and it scratched the surface, i couldnt wash it off.
Ty so much
This technique works so good
I cleaned my car with scratches in no time.

We were on vacation in a rental. A tumbleweed outside a Santa Fe hit the car hard and scratched the paint. It was very noticeable. I was afraid I’d be charged for the damage.
After watching your video, I ran to the store and bought a tube of toothpaste. It worked!!!!! Thank you!!!
2018 here, great trick, this saved me 100 dollars in a paint scratch set , thank you
Matilda's dad would be so proud bet he has a bag of sawdust to quieten engine noises as well 😄
You are an argument saver! This worked 100%. I got my bright red paint on my neighbors white BMW and you know how people go crazy for their BMW. I was coming home really earlier in the morning and there weren't any available street parking (NYC problems) So I had to fit into a tight spot in the driveway. While doing so I accidentally pumped into my neighbor's car, wiping my paint on top his. I didn't even know until later this morning when I went to move my car. I quickly searched UA-cam for some solutions and all I got was a bunch of guys telling me which products I should buy and the steps to use them in, blah blah blah - there was no time for that! So, God blessed me to find this video.
I must say this method worked 110%. Some of the paint started to come off when I wiped it with the soapy water. Also, I was nervous because I didn't want to get caught (my neighbors are supppppeerrrr noisy). I quickly put the toothpaste on the car and started wiping it off immediately, I couldn't wait 5-10mins and the paint came off - of course I had to use a little more muscle to get the grind off but it came off!
Thank God for this video! It is an effective method!
now i know what u did?....neighbour

Glad that you didn’t have to pay the outrageous price 😃
I like to personally thank for getting my car past inspection, thanx man keep grinding!!!👍👍👍
lol
I found an unsightly six inch scuff right in the middle of the rear passenger door. This worked like a charm and fixed it right up. Thanks.
Toothpaste does work to remove mild scratches and marks. Certainly don't use a scouring pad but toothpaste is a mild abrasive just like cutting compounds.
Worked in some parts of my scratches but you have too leave the tooth paste for at least 15 min and buff it really hard but so far the huge scratch I had is gone 👍🏻
Someone scraped my car yesterday so I will give this a try. Thank you!
This worked like magic. Thank you so much!!
SO, ...Sodium fluoride dissolves PAINT?! I'm using that shit on my teeth!?

I’m watching this after I was reversing and just hit my dad’s truck it’s not major but this video is helpful
I worked it on my black car and cannot believe how good it came out so thank you so much
Ahahah hes the most honest used cars sales man ever gotta level things out somehow saving people money for what he marks up love it
Scratched my brand new gloss black m/c helmet... 40 cm long scratch about 3-4mm wide... searched the web/amazon etc to find the best solution... scratch removers typcially have people raving or complaining about the product - where they complain they usually say the product made things worse... then I found thisvid and thought I would give it a go... so using a cotton bud and a small amount of toothpaste I worked it in along the length of the scratch - left it for about 10-15mins (I could still see the white scratch through the toothpaste on the black background) but I then used a soft cloth and a normal car polish and polished out the toothpaste... AMAZINGLY the scratch was gone... ok I could still see a dullish line where the gloss was taken off in the scratching process - but an untrained eye would never notice it... i'm chuffed to bits and it cost me nothing... THANKS FOR POSTING!!!
hahahaha you got me, I was like WTF!!?? Then the end of the video explains it all :-)
You put together some great videos. I love the tip.
Tbh I thought this wouldnt work as everyone is sceptical about these things but I tried it and actually worked!!! Thanks so much my white car is perfect now 👌

the more comments i read, the more confusing it gets.
abhishek bhandari. Its fake trust me
I now right I'm like should I try it or not cause I scratched my husbands car real bad
Thanks dude you save my ass😂 my dad was already kill me
I'm glad I watched the whole video. I was a paragraph into writing a lecture on celite, other abrasives and other ingredients in toothpaste (especially whitening toothpaste) and why this wouldn't work. Anyway, good myth busting. Back to searching for a way to buff out a scratch on my hardwood floors.
I saw a hack for hardwood floor surface scratches. Use cashew nuts to rub over the scratches and it magically disappears. I tried it myself and was truly amazed. It surprisingly works well. Although I guess it's the oil or grease from the cashew nut that covers it up to make it disappear. Good luck. #HumanRace 🙏🏿🙏🏾🙏🏽🙏🙏🏼🙏🏻
I don't really understand. At the end he says toothpaste doesn't work, but it blatantly just helped me get my scratches out..?
That confused me too. So does toothpaste help remove scratches or not?
Zeldarulah Does it work for black cars?!?
It works but it's only temporary. By all means do it yourself, however he's saying don't let a salesperson tell you they'll take the scratches out for a price. They probably use toothpaste or something to cover them only to have show again very shortly.
I think it might be a joke to throw off the competition at the end.
I think what he meant was that it won't do anything to hurt or further scratch the surface up like the scrubbing pad technique would. The phrasing threw me, too. Funny guy though! Liked this vid!
Other brand of toothpaste like colgate ? It works or not
I think it just has to have the tartar protection for the grittiness
Dealers have tricks as simple as crayons, chalk and colored pencils/ markers to hide scratches. Nail polish is also popular.
Love you bro you saved my life I'm so thankful to you 😘😘😘😘
130 years....gold
Am sitting infront of my mum’s car watching this video i scratched it so badly 😫 I tried using toothpaste but it’s not working I told my mum about the accident but she said it’s fine but I feel so guilty 😭

Love your videos I will try this!👍😉
The tooth paste also removed his stache!
Be sure to watch past the 3:27 mark, where another fellow shows up and explains it was a spoof video and that toothpaste actually does nothing. He points to a couple of different videos of his where he explains how to actually get scratches out of your finish on those.
thanks for your guidance sir
GONNA GO BUY SOME AND TRY IT TODAY!

OMG Does nobody watch the video all the way through? He said it doesn't work people! 😂
after reading your comment, i watched to the end and you're right he says it doesnt work! It took me a moment to realise it's the same guy without his mustache!
Tony, I like your videos. Clear and specific and showing what does and doesn't work. Thanks!
Helped me alot! thanks so much!
Ohh shit u look awesome!
Like i believe your family has sold for 130 years lol
Does this work with scratches on hard plastic??
Yes or baking soda and also glass; like scratches in TV's, CRT monitors, Phones, and LCDs. The grittiness will slowly grind out the scratch(es) working away at it like a fine grained sandpaper. It will remove the clearcoat and other top coats, so be sure to use a sealant to protect the paint afterword. For deeper scratches you can combine the toothpaste with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser or other melamine foam sponge. Be warned that the melamine foam is also abrasive, and will cause swirl marks if you press too hard or rub over areas that are not scratched.
@@fyrye my headphone also have a litle tiny scratch... The surface its plastic.. Can i use baking soda also to remove scratches
@@zulhilmiyahya613 You can, but being as plastics like that are typically molded, you will lose the shininess and will more than likely see swirls in the plastic. For molded plastics I would recommend using compounds or putty of a similar color to fill in the gaps. Similar to using bondo on fiberglass. You can search for plastic filler, and find an application suitable for your issue.
@@fyrye thank you for tips... I will try to use baking soda.. And before i forget.. Can i use baking soda to remove scratch in my glass watch also
@@zulhilmiyahya613 yes, a 50/50 mix of baking soda and water or a plain toothpaste that contains baking soda will work to remove scratches from glass. Keep in mind it is removing layers to make it smooth again, like sanding a piece of wood.
An alternative to using baking soda to polish out the plastic, would be to use it as a catalyst with superglue. Combining superglue and baking soda will cause the superglue to harden almost immediately, making it viable as a filler for gaps and scratches in plastics, depending on the depth to be filled. Be sure to test it on something unimportant, as it can get a bit messy.
I know this video is old, but thank you for this. Somebody keyed my 2018 Audi Q5 a couple days ago. The scratches weren’t deep but they were noticeable. I literally just came in from trying this and the scratches are completely gone! I wish I would’ve found your video a few months ago, the first time it was keyed. I would’ve saved myself $700😩
Actually worked. Thank you.
You can also put stool softener in your gas tank to fix a clogged cat. Works great.
Does this mean you don't think this works?
