  • In this video I am going to go over whether you can remove scratches from your car, using toothpaste and a microfiber towel or a scotch brite pad. There are alot of hacks out there regarding scratch repair, WD40, baking soda and this latest one toothpaste. Some of them might sound too good to be true so what I'll be doing is putting them for you guys to the test in my videos.

    You are an argument saver! This worked 100%. I got my bright red paint on my neighbors white BMW and you know how people go crazy for their BMW. I was coming home really earlier in the morning and there weren't any available street parking (NYC problems) So I had to fit into a tight spot in the driveway. While doing so I accidentally pumped into my neighbor's car, wiping my paint on top his. I didn't even know until later this morning when I went to move my car. I quickly searched UA-cam for some solutions and all I got was a bunch of guys telling me which products I should buy and the steps to use them in, blah blah blah - there was no time for that! So, God blessed me to find this video.
    I must say this method worked 110%. Some of the paint started to come off when I wiped it with the soapy water. Also, I was nervous because I didn't want to get caught (my neighbors are supppppeerrrr noisy). I quickly put the toothpaste on the car and started wiping it off immediately, I couldn't wait 5-10mins and the paint came off - of course I had to use a little more muscle to get the grind off but it came off!
    Thank God for this video! It is an effective method!

    Scratched my brand new gloss black m/c helmet... 40 cm long scratch about 3-4mm wide... searched the web/amazon etc to find the best solution... scratch removers typcially have people raving or complaining about the product - where they complain they usually say the product made things worse... then I found thisvid and thought I would give it a go... so using a cotton bud and a small amount of toothpaste I worked it in along the length of the scratch - left it for about 10-15mins (I could still see the white scratch through the toothpaste on the black background) but I then used a soft cloth and a normal car polish and polished out the toothpaste... AMAZINGLY the scratch was gone... ok I could still see a dullish line where the gloss was taken off in the scratching process - but an untrained eye would never notice it... i'm chuffed to bits and it cost me nothing... THANKS FOR POSTING!!!

      I saw a hack for hardwood floor surface scratches. Use cashew nuts to rub over the scratches and it magically disappears. I tried it myself and was truly amazed. It surprisingly works well. Although I guess it's the oil or grease from the cashew nut that covers it up to make it disappear. Good luck. #HumanRace 🙏🏿🙏🏾🙏🏽🙏🙏🏼🙏🏻

      It works but it's only temporary. By all means do it yourself, however he's saying don't let a salesperson tell you they'll take the scratches out for a price. They probably use toothpaste or something to cover them only to have show again very shortly.

    Be sure to watch past the 3:27 mark, where another fellow shows up and explains it was a spoof video and that toothpaste actually does nothing. He points to a couple of different videos of his where he explains how to actually get scratches out of your finish on those.

    Does this work with scratches on hard plastic??

    • @fyrye
      @fyrye 7 років тому

      Yes or baking soda and also glass; like scratches in TV's, CRT monitors, Phones, and LCDs. The grittiness will slowly grind out the scratch(es) working away at it like a fine grained sandpaper. It will remove the clearcoat and other top coats, so be sure to use a sealant to protect the paint afterword. For deeper scratches you can combine the toothpaste with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser or other melamine foam sponge. Be warned that the melamine foam is also abrasive, and will cause swirl marks if you press too hard or rub over areas that are not scratched.

      @@fyrye my headphone also have a litle tiny scratch... The surface its plastic.. Can i use baking soda also to remove scratches

    • @fyrye
      @fyrye 5 років тому

      @@zulhilmiyahya613 You can, but being as plastics like that are typically molded, you will lose the shininess and will more than likely see swirls in the plastic. For molded plastics I would recommend using compounds or putty of a similar color to fill in the gaps. Similar to using bondo on fiberglass. You can search for plastic filler, and find an application suitable for your issue.

      @@fyrye thank you for tips... I will try to use baking soda.. And before i forget.. Can i use baking soda to remove scratch in my glass watch also

    • @fyrye
      @fyrye 5 років тому

      @@zulhilmiyahya613 yes, a 50/50 mix of baking soda and water or a plain toothpaste that contains baking soda will work to remove scratches from glass. Keep in mind it is removing layers to make it smooth again, like sanding a piece of wood.
      An alternative to using baking soda to polish out the plastic, would be to use it as a catalyst with superglue. Combining superglue and baking soda will cause the superglue to harden almost immediately, making it viable as a filler for gaps and scratches in plastics, depending on the depth to be filled. Be sure to test it on something unimportant, as it can get a bit messy.

    I know this video is old, but thank you for this. Somebody keyed my 2018 Audi Q5 a couple days ago. The scratches weren’t deep but they were noticeable. I literally just came in from trying this and the scratches are completely gone! I wish I would’ve found your video a few months ago, the first time it was keyed. I would’ve saved myself $700😩

    You can also put stool softener in your gas tank to fix a clogged cat. Works great.
