    Great video Dave. Very valid points you made about scratches. If the scratch is through the clear coat, no matter what compound, polish or machine is used the scratch will remain. A cheap temporary fix to help disguise a scratch that has gone through to the primer, is to use a crayon pencil. Of course that fix will be very temporary.

    Hi Dave. Another great video.
    I have seen used car sales guys using products like this to remove scratches. Even if it lightly disguises the scratch, thats good enough to get it off the forecourt. The general public however, may have unrealistic expectations to what they can achieve with this system, and as you have pointed out, thats when the problems start.
    I look forward to your next video.

    great & fun video Dave, we all know real men prefer to hand polish (in full summer sun of course)! 😉 I use the Chem Guys hex pads (3 pack), and Meg's Ult Compound & Polish, hard work but worth it in the end. Would be cool for you to consider the opposite, and have a video look at a starter DA machine polisher, to save the post hand-polish aches & pains the following day.

    Quick question why do compounds and other products have use by dates

    • @epicautomotivedetailing
      @epicautomotivedetailing  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you Daniel. I Think they put dates down to the molecular structure changing over time for example some products can separate in the cold so they wont work as well and some products have raw materials in so over time they could potentially diminish slightly.

      @@epicautomotivedetailing I once found a discarded litre bottle of Scholl S30 (pre-Plus) where the expiry date was June 2012. After a good shake, it worked perfectly. I used it on a 2009 Ford Transit Connect which as you know is one of the best vans. Used by DA on speed 4 with a red LC Hydrotech pad the pale green paste finished into a clear polishing liquid and never dusted. It's a real shame they are so expensive.

And I must say I use some of auto Glym's products but been a new starter it's hard to see big results from there products.
