I should have watched your video before applying my vit C+HA product with the glycolic toner ^^" but thankfully, I just did it once Thank you for being so thorough, I'm a beginner in skincare routine :)
this is an amazing video! I just purchased the ordinary's glycolic acid and the inkey list's salycilic acid cleanser and I am sure I would have used them in the same routine hadn't I watched this video... thank you!
Thanks for the awesome video it's very helpful! I have a question I hope you can help me with. Is it ok to use the Glycolic Acid 7% after using the PanOxyl cleanser for acne which contains 10% Benzoyl peroxide?
Glad it was helpful! :) No, I do not recommend using them in the same routine, as this can lead to irritation over time. Do you currently use a non-exfoliating acid or benzoyl peroxide cleanser as well? What other skincare products do you use, and what are your specific skin concerns?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thanks for the answer! I currently use the Benzoyl peroxide soap as my cleanser. Than I use the glycolic acid 7% but after watching your video I'm not sure it's good for the skin. I did noticed some peeling of the skin. Than I usually put hyaluronic acid and moisturizer. I thought using them in the same routine will be good for the acne but I'm concerned it may be damaging the skin. Do you have recommendation what kind of products should I avoid while using the benzoyl peroxide cleanser?
@@astarmor668 Ok. It's best to use them in separate routines as both products exfoliate the skin. So, when using The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner, use a gentle cleanser (suitable for your skin type) instead. Also, you need to adjust the frequency of both products as your skin may not tolerate the daily usage of it. your videos are amazing thank you so much, i have dry skin and have been worried about using glycolic acid, i just got it the other day. so far at night after i cleanse, i use the glycolic acid (am i supposed to wait for a bit before continuing?), spray mario badescu's rose water on my face then apply inkey list's hyaluronic acid, then the rest of my moisturizers and sometimes rosehip oil. does that seem like an okay and effective routine? in the morning i just use hyaluronic and moisturize basically before makeup. i think i'm going to wait a few days before i use it again
Hey! Thank you! :) Your AM and PM routines sound great! :) You do not necessarily need to wait in between. If you feel that the product has absorbed into the skin, move on to the next one. This can be nearly immediately, or just give it 30 seconds to a minute in between and then move on to the following product.
Love you video and will watch more Could I use the following in this order; Day 1 AM; gentle cleanser - 20% vit C + E ferulic Serum - moisturizer - sunscreen PM gentle cleanser - prescription 3 in 1 cream with tretinoin 0.025%, niacinamide 4% & azelic acid 4% Little moisturiser Day 2; AM gentle cleanser, glycolic acid toner, vitamin C as above, moisturizer & suncream PM same as above sometimes ordinary AHA peeling solution once a week instead of the Tretinoin Is there anything I’m missing that would be good to include or is that enough? Anti ageing desperately needed I’m slowly increasing the Tretinoin %
Hey :) Your AM and PM Routines look great! Make sure that you read on the back of the packaging or the box or maybe on your leaflet how you should use your 3 in 1 cream because Tretinoin has to be applied on dry skin so, after cleansing, wait for your skin to dry before applying it :) Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C can be used together. However, if you should experience stinging, do not use them together :)
Thanks so much for all the information! Really appreciate 🙏 I have a quick question- I use oils in my skincare- like, Turmeric Vitamin C oil by sunday riley in the AM and CBD oil in the PM. Can they be used with the Glycolic acid? Also should I be using them before or after my moisturizer?
Yes, that's fine. Use them after Glycolic Acid but before applying your moisturizer or mix 2-3 drops of oil with a pea-to-bean sized amount of moisturizer.
Great video! I will subscribe if you have more videos like this. This was so so good. You have included so much information. I think I will unsubscribe to other channels and just use this one.
Hi Melissa, thanks for the videos! I have a question, how can I use Salicylic 2% Anhydrous solution in my skincare routine? Should I use it before or after Niacinamide 10% + zinc? Thank you,
hey melissa! do you have any recommendations for a toner that i could add to my skincare routine. my skin is more on the oily/combination side and it is acne prone. also i’m wondering how often i should use toner. i love your videos and how informative they are this is my skincare routine and i’m not sure where should i fit toner in Am cerave foaming cleanser (normal to oily skin) the ordinary salicylic acid cerave facial moisturising lotion (with spf 25) pm inkey list oat cleansing balm cerave foaming cleanser the ordinary hyaluronic acid the ordinary niacinamide (if my skin is feeling dry i’ll use either the ordinary rose hip seed oil or borage seed oil) nivea creme moisturiser if you think anything’s wrong with this routine i’d really appreciate your advice
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Firstly, thanks for your response. I am using the 15% Vitamin C and EGF of the INKEY List and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid - 7% toning solution. Now that you replied, I'd love to know how can I use The Ordinary's Niacinamide, Glycolic, Alpha Arbutin and INKEY List's Vitamin C divided in 2 routines? (morning and night). Thank you - A huge fan of your videos (started skin care recently)
@@ridhiverma401 Yes, you can use them all in the same routine. Still, you may want to just use 2 serums in the AM and 2 in the PM. This way it layers much better but feel free to try both ways. Also, just use Glycolic Acid in the evening. For acne, I recommend using a 2% Salicylic Acid or 4-5% Benzoyl Peroxide product. Ideally a cleanser. Glycolic Acid doesn't do much for active acne. You can use it later on to lighten dark spots. Still, those are just treatments...so, you need to figure out what's causing your acne in the first place to reduce it or even stop it.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thanks a lot. Yes, I am in the process to figure that out and I will keep this in mind. On a side note, do you mind suggesting any cleaner with 2% Salicylic Acid or 4-5% Benzoyl Peroxide?
CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser (2% Salicylic Acid) or The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser (also 2%). As for Benzoyl Peroxide; CeraVe, Panoxyl or Differin. Go with 4%-5%. 10% is way too strong.
Hello, i have The Ordinary glycolic acid toning soliution and The Ordinary 2% salicylic acid serum in the white/clear bottle. I’ve used them both separately and both have not irritated my skin and worked nicely, i was wondering if i can use them together on the same night as my skin isnt prone to irritation. Which product should i use first , how long do i wait in between? Thank youu
Hey! 😊 Since using them on alternate days is working well for you, why do you want to combine them in the same routine? Also, for how long have you been using them?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet i have not tried alternating them , ive used glycolic acid for around half a year and now i stopped glycolic acid and i am currently using salicylic acid for about a month. i want to combine them together to get both benefits so i dont use too many actives too often and have rest days in between them, because i also use retinoid
@@fuzzysoc2585 So, which exfoliant worked better for you? Also, how long have you been using your Retinoid product? Honestly, I would suggest using the exfoliant that works best for your skin and alternating between that one and your retinoid in the evening. Using too many potent treatments in the same routine or too frequently can really mess up the skin or even cause irritations. However, if you really want to use both, you can do so. Use Glycolic Acid first, wait for it to absorb, and then use Salicylic Acid. Just be sure not to use them in the same routine when using your Retinoid.
hello pretty ! i already saw a vidoe where you used glycolic acid with retinol in a pm dry acne pron skin , so what should i do now that you advising not to mix them together ! and please if you can give me an AM routine for dry acne pron skin , thank youu ❤️❤️
That's why I said you should avoid it. The routine that I recreated was from The Ordinary, and they had it on their website. But I guess that some people experienced irritation and therefore they took it off. That's also why I wanted to be a bit more careful so that you can get the most out of the products without experiencing some irritation. The routine with Glycolic Acid and Retinoid is an excellent routine for acne scars that may give you beautiful results; however, you can easily overdo it, but you can use them in combination. That's why I have "avoid" and "do not" use :) So if this combination works well for you, just go for it. :)
Hi Melissa, this is another informative video for today. Thank you for the knowledge you pour to us gladly to remember this as always. Happy holidays Melissa. Lots of 💚❤💚❤ From : Geza
Hey melissa! I have been watching your videos for sometime now. I really like how you elaborately describe and explain the usage, benefits of everyproducts. Thanks alot. Being a beginner in this skincare thing, it helped me alot. One thing i want to clear about. If you would tell me what toner can i use on my skin? Is glycolic acid suitable for me? I have combination acne prone skin. Plus my skin is a bit sensitive. So i would really like your recs. TIA.
Hey! :) No, I wouldn't recommend using The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner, as it can sting on sensitive skin - also, it's an exfoliant, not a hydrating toner. Instead, I recommend choosing between The Ordinary 2% Salicylic Acid Solution or Mandelic Acid 10%. As for a hydrating toner, Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner, I'm From Rice Toner, or one from Paula's Choice, like their Enriched Calming Toner are great hydrating toners! :)

Hey! :) Well, this may cause dryness when doing this over and over again. Since you are using a Tea Tree Toner which helps to make the skin 'drier' which is great for oily skin however, when combining it with a Retinol/Retinoid it may be too drying. It may be best to only use your toner in the AM and use your Granactive Retinoid in the PM.
Hi is this a good routine: Inkey List Salicylic acid cleanser Klairs Supple Preparation Toner The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner The Ordinary Azaleic Acid Thank you so much! 💓
Hey! What's your skin type and what are your skin concerns? I recommend using a gentle Cleanser when using the Ordinary Glycolic Acid. Also, Glycolic acid and Azelaic Acid can be used together, however, if irritation occurs, I recommend keeping them separate. Is that your AM or PM routine? Also, what else do you use? Also, how often you can use Glycolic Acid during the week depends on your skin's needs! Start with 2-3 times per week and build up the frequency if you can and need!

Hello, I have a couple of videos that show exactly how to set up a routine. The Ordinary For Beginners: ua-cam.com/video/diaLVk_EsI4/v-deo.html The Ordinary Layering: ua-cam.com/video/gMrV5WD8KkA/v-deo.html For the cleanser and sunscreen, you are using, no, if it suits your needs, you can still continue using it 😃 And if you like to I can check the routine and help you further.
Hi Melisa I am developing my skincare routine I suffer from acne marks, uneven skin and sometimes a few acne bumbs my skin is combination skin normally oily on the T zones and dry on the exterior. My morning skincare Cerave hydrate cream foam cleanser- The ordinary Alpha arbutin 2% + HA+ The ordinary hylaronic acid + cerave moisturizing lotion + La Roche Posay Anthelios Uvmune 400 Fluide Invisible Spf50+ and for The evening cleanser + glycolic acid + The Ordinary Niacinamide 10 Percent Plus Zinc 1 Percent + Hylaronic acid + cerave moisturizer and on alternate nights cleanser+ The Ordinary Retinol 1 Percent In Squalane +The Ordinary Niacinamide 10 Percent Plus Zinc 1 Percent + hylaronic acid + moisturizer and one night per week cleanser + The Ordinary Aha 30 Percent Plus Bha 2 Percent Peeling Solution + cleanser+ hyaluronic acid and moisturizer. Is how I am layering my skincare going to be effective would you recommend different products?
Hello 😃 Have you been using this routine for a long time? However, I must point out that the order is incorrect, as you need to consider the formulation of the individual products. For the morning, the current routine should be alright. But for the evening, it should be: Cleanser Hyaluronic acid (water-based) Niacinamide (water-based) Retinol (oil-based) (Moisturizer) I also think that using hyaluronic acid and niacinamide in the same routine as the retinol 1% can be very potent. Therefore, I would create two evening routines: one with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, and one with the retinol alone. The moisturizer may not be needed at all; I would probably just use it after the peel. If you think that this is working well, continue to use it. But please change the order based on what I've recommended above; otherwise, the products may not properly penetrate the skin.
@@nkululekomazibuko4069 Well, you can create three night routines if you like, but using all these products may be too much. So, I would either go with the retinol or the glycolic acid in the beginning, especially since you are using the 1% retinol.
Hello Melissa! I'm planning to add the Glycolic acid to my skincare regimen. Do you think it's okay to use it in this order? : cleanser, glycolic acid toner, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, moisturizer
Hi Melissa, Can I use glycolic acid toner with niacinamide serum and then the next day salicylic acid serum and niacinamide serum? So alternative days.
Hey! :) Do not use them in the same routine. Either use one of them (go with the one that works best for your skin concerns) or use the SA cleanser in the AM and regular cleanser + Glycolic Acid in the PM. Just keep the frequency of Glycolic Acid in mind.
Hi Melissa I have ordinary glycolic toner, niacinamide 10% +zinc1%,alpha arbutin 2%+HA, AHA 30%+BHA 2%peeling solution, ordinary natural moisturizing f factor, lactic acid, azelaic acid suspension and caffeine solution5%+EGCG. How do I use them, especially with the lactic acide and peeling solution. I’m kinda new to the ordinary products and just subscribed to your channel yesterday.
Hey :) I recommend checking out the video below so that you can set up your AM and PM routine. Once you come up with your routines, let me know, and I'll check them :) The Ordinary For Beginners: ua-cam.com/video/diaLVk_EsI4/v-deo.html Also, Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid are kind of the same, so I recommend only using one of them when setting up your skincare routine! Also, when using the peeling solution, do not use Glycolic Acid and/or Lactic Acid on that day! :)
Hi Melissa Can I use Cerave Renewing SA cleanser with the ordinaey Glycolic Acid Toner in the same routine? AM SA cleanser Ordinary Glycolic Acid Ordinary Hyalurinic Acid Ordunary Niacinamide 10% Ordinary Alpha Arbutin Moisturizer/sunscreen ? And would vitamin c fit in there? Thank you
Generally, using too many skincare products can be overwhelming for the skin. It is better to split the routine into two - morning and evening. AM Routine: Use a salicylic acid cleanser Apply The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin OR use Vitamin C and The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin Apply moisturizer and sunscreen PM Routine: Use a gentle foaming or hydrating cleanser that suits your needs. Alternate it with the salicylic acid cleanser to avoid over-drying the skin Apply The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Wait 1-2 minutes Apply The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid or a moisturizer This routine should layer much better. Also, adjust the frequency of using glycolic acid to your needs. Do not use it too often, as it can lead to skin sensitivities over time.
Hey :) I know😉 Azelaic Acid is a bit different then AHA or BHA :) You can use Glycolic Acid and Azelaic Acid in the same routine if your skin can tolerate this combination, otherwise, keep them separate :)
Hi love Cerave renewing salicylic wash Can I use the ordinary glycolic acid 7% With cerave resurfacing retinol Cerave pm moisturizer At night Please and is it daily or twice a week Thank you
Hi Melissa my products came today 1st time I am going to use these products. I have Retinol 0.2%,Niacinamide and Arbutin.how many times a week must I use the Retinol.thank you
Hey :) You can use Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin daily, and it may be best to use them once per day (AM) to see how your skin responds to it before using it twice per day :) I recommend using your Retinol 2-3 times per week in the evening for a while so that your skin can adjust to it before using it more often :) Btw, Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin and Retinol can be used in the same routine if you want to use them together soon. Hope this helps :)
The ordinary does not recommend that combination since it may cause issues in sensitive skin types. However, it can work great. My recommendation would be - test it and see how you go; if not, use Azelaic Acid and Glycolic Acid at different times.
That's the video that I haven't done yet. 😉 I was thinking about this a couple of days ago to record another one in the coming days.🙂 So it would be best if you do not use Buffet after the Salicylic Acid solution it's best to use them at alternate times. :)
Hello, I’m new to The Ordinary products. I purchased the Glycolic Acid toner, the AHA-BHA peeling solution and vitamin c suspension. I have really sensitive skin, oily T-zone. What’s the best routine for these products.
If you have sensitive skin, you cannot use any of these products 😕 since they are not suitable for your skin type and needs. Glycolic Acid = AHA and is in the peeling solution. It leads to stinging and burning (especially if you have sensitive skin). The vitamin c you picked also has a very high % and is too acidic for the skin to tolerate after application. So if you can return them, then that would be my suggestion. Here is a routine for your skin conditions and needs: The Ordinary Skincare Routine for Oily Acne Prone Skin: ua-cam.com/video/BoLMjpkcDSw/v-deo.html And it also works for normal to oily skin without acne ;)

Hey! :) Please do not overdo it with your exfoliating acid products. Use the Peeling Solution or Salicylic Acid Mask only once per week and for the rest alternate between Glycolic Acid and Retinol/Granactive Retinoid. See here: ua-cam.com/video/BfPjHAj7nWo/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/uDkmG9mInAs/v-deo.html Or are you using a Retinoid like Tretinoin? Your AM routine looks good! No, there is no need to add Niacinamide to your PM routine.
Hey :) If you are new to Retinol and Glycolic Acid, I do not recommend using them in the same routine. This combination can be quite strong if your skin still needs time to adjust to both products (especially Retinol!). Otherwise, it can cause irritation! Use them on alternate days in your PM routine. AM Routine: - Cleanse - Hyaluronic Acid - (Optional) Moisturiser - SPF PM 1: - Cleanse - Glycolic Acid - Hyaluronic Acid - (Optional) Moisturiser PM 2: - Cleanse - Hyaluronic Acid - Retinol - (Optional) Moisturiser (before or after your Retinol) Hope this helps! :)
Great videos !!! After putting the acids on your skin do you need to wait for 20 minutes at least before adding your moisture or it is not necessary? Thankyou
Hey :) Thank you! No, there is no need to wait such a long time in between! After you have applied your leave-on exfoliant and it has absorbed into the skin, move on to your next product, for example, your moisturiser! :)
Hi could u plz tell me can we use hylamide c25 with CeraVe smoothing cleanser and by wishtrend quad boosting essence in same routine?? And what about the willow bark does it has some effects like bha or we can use it with other products??
Yes, you can use vitamin C along with Glycolic Acid toner, but if you experience any discomfort or sensitivity with the vitamin C, you may need to adjust your usage or use them separately.

@@Sun-rk2qg Salicylic Acid can work well on active acne for some people. So, if you think that your Salicylic Acid Cleanser is helping you with your active acne, keep on using it. As for acne marks, have a look at Niacinamide, Vitamin C and/or Differin Gel or Retinol. I prefer to use a 4% or 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and Differin Gel, this has helped me a lot with my active acne and post-acne marks.
Hello, its me again !! Can i use the "Skinoren azelaic acid gel (150mg/g)" after the glycolic toner ? just got it prescribed for me and didnt want to stop the ordinary one >
Hey! :) Is it the 20% Azelaic Acid Gel? If so, I recommend keeping them separate to reduce irritation. So, either use them at different times or different days.
It's possible that your skin may still be sensitive. I recommend testing it and observing how your skin reacts. If you experience stinging or burning sensations, it would be best to use the products on different evenings to minimize any potential irritation.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet hey thanks for the inf I checked your recent shorts they are not getting enough hype even though they are informative Just bring a good table and put the product on the table and sit calmly and explain slowly to create a thumbnail of the product that catches the eye along with an attention grabbing caption on the thumbnail itself...... @@letstalk1264 Thanks for the suggestion. However, do you truly believe that thumbnails are the primary factor making a significant difference? I wouldn't overdo it with these acids. Try mixing a few drops of Glycolic Acid (about 5) and Salicylic Acid (2-3) in the palm of your hand. Then apply it all over, but if you use them one after the other, you need a lot of product; therefore, you will likely experience irritation after some time. So no.
Yes, just make sure that you do not overdo it ❤️ How Often and When to Use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution With Examples: ua-cam.com/video/0s_XPFywMzQ/v-deo.html
I do not recommend it; this will lead to over-exfoliation sooner or later; if you do this for a short period/ a few weeks, it may work, yes. It mainly depends on your goals. So if you want to target dark spots, it may help. But generally, it's not advisable. Just be careful :)

Well, that's something you need to try out. And it depends on how much exfoliation your skin needs. You should not use it during the day because it makes the skin sensitive to the sun. But generally, when using good sunscreen during the day, it shouldn't be an issue when used in the morning. However, you probably will have the best experience when alternating...

your videos are amazing thank you so much, i have dry skin and have been worried about using glycolic acid, i just got it the other day. so far at night after i cleanse, i use the glycolic acid (am i supposed to wait for a bit before continuing?), spray mario badescu's rose water on my face then apply inkey list's hyaluronic acid, then the rest of my moisturizers and sometimes rosehip oil. does that seem like an okay and effective routine? in the morning i just use hyaluronic and moisturize basically before makeup. i think i'm going to wait a few days before i use it again
Hey!
Thank you! :)
Your AM and PM routines sound great! :)
You do not necessarily need to wait in between. If you feel that the product has absorbed into the skin, move on to the next one. This can be nearly immediately, or just give it 30 seconds to a minute in between and then move on to the following product.
I needed this so much. Thank you
Thank you this was very helpful 😃

Love you video and will watch more
Could I use the following in this order;
Day 1
AM; gentle cleanser - 20% vit C + E ferulic Serum - moisturizer - sunscreen
PM gentle cleanser - prescription 3 in 1 cream with tretinoin 0.025%, niacinamide 4% & azelic acid 4%
Little moisturiser
Day 2;
AM gentle cleanser, glycolic acid toner, vitamin C as above, moisturizer & suncream
PM same as above sometimes ordinary AHA peeling solution once a week instead of the Tretinoin
Is there anything I’m missing that would be good to include or is that enough?
Anti ageing desperately needed
I’m slowly increasing the Tretinoin %
Hey :)
Your AM and PM Routines look great!
Make sure that you read on the back of the packaging or the box or maybe on your leaflet how you should use your 3 in 1 cream because Tretinoin has to be applied on dry skin so, after cleansing, wait for your skin to dry before applying it :)
Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C can be used together. However, if you should experience stinging, do not use them together :)
Thanks so much for all the information! Really appreciate 🙏
I have a quick question- I use oils in my skincare- like, Turmeric Vitamin C oil by sunday riley in the AM and CBD oil in the PM. Can they be used with the Glycolic acid? Also should I be using them before or after my moisturizer?
Yes, that's fine. Use them after Glycolic Acid but before applying your moisturizer or mix 2-3 drops of oil with a pea-to-bean sized amount of moisturizer.

this is my skincare routine and i’m not sure where should i fit toner in
Am
cerave foaming cleanser (normal to oily skin)
the ordinary salicylic acid
cerave facial moisturising lotion (with spf 25)
pm
inkey list oat cleansing balm
cerave foaming cleanser
the ordinary hyaluronic acid
the ordinary niacinamide
(if my skin is feeling dry i’ll use either the ordinary rose hip seed oil or borage seed oil)

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet the routine seems to work pretty well with my skin and thank you!!
Hi, thanks for incredible videos! Can I use the inkeylist Vitamin C with the ordinary's Glycolic acid?
Which one do you have? 🤔
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Firstly, thanks for your response. I am using the 15% Vitamin C and EGF of the INKEY List and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid - 7% toning solution. I stopped using the Glycolic, thinking it is increasing acne on my face but I am planning to use it again.
Thank youu
Hey! 😊
Since using them on alternate days is working well for you, why do you want to combine them in the same routine?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you very much!!!
hello pretty ! i already saw a vidoe where you used glycolic acid with retinol in a pm dry acne pron skin , so what should i do now that you advising not to mix them together ! and please if you can give me an AM routine for dry acne pron skin , thank youu ❤️❤️
That's why I have "avoid" and "do not" use :)
So if this combination works well for you, just go for it. :)

TIA.
Hey! :)
No, I wouldn't recommend using The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner, as it can sting on sensitive skin - also, it's an exfoliant, not a hydrating toner. :)

Hey! :)
Well, this may cause dryness when doing this over and over again. Since you are using a Tea Tree Toner which helps to make the skin 'drier' which is great for oily skin however, when combining it with a Retinol/Retinoid it may be too drying. It may be best to only use your toner in the AM and use your Granactive Retinoid in the PM.
Hi is this a good routine:
Inkey List Salicylic acid cleanser
Klairs Supple Preparation Toner
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner
The Ordinary Azaleic Acid
Thank you so much! 💓

Hello 😃
Have you been using this routine for a long time?
However, I must point out that the order is incorrect, as you need to consider the formulation of the individual products.
For the morning, the current routine should be alright. But for the evening, it should be:
Cleanser
Hyaluronic acid (water-based)
Niacinamide (water-based)
Retinol (oil-based)
(Moisturizer)
I also think that using hyaluronic acid and niacinamide in the same routine as the retinol 1% can be very potent.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much for responding I will do this
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet so does this mean I should not the glycolic acid in my night routine?
@@nkululekomazibuko4069 Well, you can create three night routines if you like, but using all these products may be too much. So, I would either go with the retinol or the glycolic acid in the beginning, especially since you are using the 1% retinol.

AM
SA cleanser
Ordinary Glycolic Acid
Ordinary Hyalurinic Acid
Ordunary Niacinamide 10%
Ordinary Alpha Arbutin
Moisturizer/sunscreen
?
And would vitamin c fit in there?
Thank you
Generally, using too many skincare products can be overwhelming for the skin. It is better to split the routine into two - morning and evening.
AM Routine:
Use a salicylic acid cleanser
Apply The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin OR use Vitamin C and The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin
Apply moisturizer and sunscreen
PM Routine:
Use a gentle foaming or hydrating cleanser that suits your needs. Alternate it with the salicylic acid cleanser to avoid over-drying the skin
Apply The Ordinary Glycolic Acid
Wait 1-2 minutes
Apply The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid or a moisturizer
This routine should layer much better. Also, adjust the frequency of using glycolic acid to your needs. Do not use it too often, as it can lead to skin sensitivities over time.

Hi Melissa, can I add in AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling treatment (max 2 times per week) if I use this 7% solution daily ( at night only) ? Thanks
I do not recommend it; this will lead to over-exfoliation sooner or later; if you do this for a short period/ a few weeks, it may work, yes. It mainly depends on your goals. So if you want to target dark spots, it may help. But generally, it's not advisable. Just be careful :)
Can you layer the glycolic acid with the amino acids b5 serum, and also can i use my face cream over these products? It’s the ceraV cream. ( This cream has salycilicacid, hyaluronic acid, niacinemide , LHA ánd 3 ceramides ) ? Thanks!
what cream are you using? And does it says anything about the amount? If not, it's generally pretty low, so it shouldn't be an issue 😉
OMG .. I've been using this toning with buffet in AM for a year!! 😭
It may influence the pH, and you may not see all the benefits. However, if it worked well for you, then there is no need to change it 😉
Can i use pixi vitamin c toner with vitamin c serum ????
Yes, you can.
Can I use SkinCeuticle Simple clean Gel (Aqua / Water / Eau , Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate , Coco-Betaine , Glycerin , Acrylates Copolymer , Pentylene Glycol , Sodium Chloride , Propylene Glycol , Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid , Phenoxyethanol , Sodium Hydroxide , Disodium Edta , Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Oil / Orange Peel Oil , Limonene , Aloe Barbadensis Extract / Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract , Chamomilla Recutita Extract / Matricaria Flower Extract , Citric Acid)
WITH Glycolic toner

Hi Melissa, your videos are very informative for me as a beginner ❤.
I have a question, can I use glycolic avid 7% toning solution and vitamin C suspension 23% plus HA spheres 2% together in my pm routine in these steps.
1-Cleanser,
2-Glycolic acid 7% tonimg solution
3-Vitamin C suspension 23% plus HA spheres 2%
4-Mosterizr
Hello Sadaf,
It can be a harsh combination; therefore, I recommend alternate days for best results.
Can you use the inky list salicylic acid serum with the ordinary glcolic acid toner at the same time??
I do not recommend it if you want to do it more often since it only increases the chances of irritation. It's best to alternate days.
Hellooo! I would like to create a PM Routine, I would like to use Glycolic Acid + Niacinamida + Natural Moisturizing Factors HA, Can I? 🙈
Yes, that's fine! :)
Can you use the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution with the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres?
Technically yes, however it's a very potent combination and my recommendation would be to use them on different days.

Can I mix salicylic acid cleanser from cosrx and glycolic acid?
If that works for your skin, yes you can use them in the same routine, otherwise keep them separate.
Hello! i’m very new to skincare and i was wondering if it would it be okay to use the glycolic acid toning solution one night and differin adapelene 0,1% gel the next night and kinda rotate the two? since the toning solution can’t be used in the an AM routine. thank you in advance!!
