    Your videos are incredibly helpful and I love how you explain everything. The only thing I found disappointing in this video is that La Roche Posay product was recommended; La Roche Posay is not cruelty-free. This is one of many reasons why I love The Ordinary products.

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  2 роки тому +3

      Hello Melissa :)
      Yes, all the cruelty-free brands are still cruelty-free because someone else has already tested it before so that they can claim it.
      For example, a company can never be "fully" cruelty-free if it has once been tested on animals. However, a new company can just look at the research and create a new company and become easily cruelty-free and use it as a marketing term, and often they are the same investors/people in that new company. Or they just test it overseas, in different countries, which isn't transparent at all.
      So it is a bit sneaky, and sadly it will not change anything 🤨

    Just wanna share.. I've experienced irritation with Vitamin C serum. I have resilient skin, but it's my first time in 30years to get 2 consecutive pimples on almost the same spot (left cheek). Because of this, I decided to choose Azelaic Acid and gave the vit c serum away. And I'm very much happy with my decision. 💕

      It's still there but it is very confusing now, depending on what device you are using.
      The Ordinary Layering:
      ua-cam.com/video/gMrV5WD8KkA/v-deo.html
      Facetheory's Azelaic Acid feels great as it is a serum and not a cream, however, I haven't tried that one long enough to comment on the performance. So far, I prefer Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid Booster as it the nicest texture of all of the Azelaic Acid products that I have tried so far! :)

    AM

    Ordinary's Azelaic acid
    Cotz SPF 50 sunscreen
    PM
    APC cysteamine 5%
    La Roche posay hydrating cleanser
    Ordinary's Lactic acid/AHA peel 1x weekly

      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  2 роки тому

      Hey! :)
      Overall the order of application looks good - you may not need a moisturizer after the faded cream because it is already a cream. However, I'm unsure if those products will do much for your dark circles because they are inherited. I mean, you can try it - but I am not sure they will do anything for you.
      Also, do not use the Peeling Solution on the eye contour or Azelaic Acid.

    Woops I made the mistake in using the Azelaic acid in the morning left on then used 30% AHA/BHA in the evening for 10 mins and have more redness than usual - hopefully it will go down quick tho and my guess is it’s just gone deeper causing it to peel more.

      Tretinoin? No, that is another form of Retinoid.
      Adapalene = Retinoid
      Tretinoin = Retinoid
      These are just different generations of retinoids with very similar effects. So it would help if you did not use them together. Stick to one :) And tretinoin is more potent!

      Hello. The silicon is not the case, but it can be. Usually, silicon causes issues because you haven't washed the face properly. Otherwise, it won't. But it can be the BHA from Paula's Choice as well. Solution = use them separately and wash your face correctly and see when the problem occurs. 🙂

      Haha yes. 😀 I like Azelaic Acid from Paula's Choice a bit more because it blends nicer into the skin, I want to use The Ordinary Azelaic Acid on my body. But again that's just personal preference.
      I haven't tried them, yet. I have The Inkey list at home, but many products are bottled in Canada, so I think some are the same as The Ordinary and made by Deciem. Kind of a private label. So they must be good. 😉
      Not sure about Cosrx since it's mostly marketing, not sure if they are trustworthy. I like to mention them because many people think they cause issues when combining them with other products (Because of the acids since they label it as AHA+BHA, but they do not include a high % of active ingredients, and won't likely have any effect except on feeling good on the skin). So I do not want to recommend them to others 😞 , but I may do some maintenance routines for people who do not have any skin concerns and just want some hydration or glow 🙂 not sure yet.

      Use the Caffeine Solution after your Toner, then move on to Niacinamide and use your moisturiser before apply the Azelaic Acid Suspension; this feels nicer on the skin and can give you a bit more slip when applying Azelaic Acid and then follow with your sunscreen.
      Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid has a nicer texture, which you may prefer because the Ordinary Suspension can be a bit drying and difficult to apply. Or have a look at Facetheroy's Azelaic Acid or from Geek & Gorgeous, those are serums.

      Yes, that's fine.
      You can use Niacinamide and Azelaic Acid daily. Benzoyl Peroxide can also be used daily if your skin can tolerate it and whenever you experience active acne.
      Please do not use Azelaic Acid after the Peeling Solution. You can use Azelaic Acid on other days when not using the Peeling Solution.

      No, the order is not correct. And some of your products conflict. So you should not use Niacinamide and Vitamin C.

      Hey! :)
      It's best to keep them separate! :)
      Use, for example Buffet in the AM and Azelaic Acid in the PM :)

    Hi, I exfoliate my skin every once a week with TO peeling solution and i bought the azelaic acid. Is it ok if I use the azelaic acid everyday? How many times should i use it?

      Hey! :)
      Yes, you can use Azelaic Acid daily in the AM and/or PM. However, you may not want to use it right after the Peeling Solution. When using the Peeling Solution, use Azelaic Acid the next day.

    Hi Melissa... can give me advice on skincare routine. I've just purchased the Niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% and Azelaid acid suspension. Is there any other product that i can use or u recommend me to use since my main concern is dark spot/hyperpigmentation issue. Can u list out a skincare routine for me so that i can follow? Thanks in advance

      Generally yes, but sometimes that stings on the skin because both have a lower pH. So you need to test it if it doesn't work well; just alternate.
