So today we have a brand new problem which to my understanding and from the explanation that I got here in the shop from the other guys that work here this is an extremely common problem with these vehicles.
This vehicle that we’re working on in the video is actually a GMC Acadia but because underneath the hood The Chevy Traverse Saturn Outlook and Buick enclave with the 3.6 V6 VVT are virtually identical when they’re equipped with rear air conditioning this video will be extremely helpful to . (even you folks that don’t really have a lot of mechanical know how) this procedure is quite simply something that you can go out to your driveway pop your hood and look underneath the plastic cover and move over the line that covers the affected area..... And Wala you will either see it Rubbed through or you will not. If you do see it with a whole rubbed in the side of line. This video will show you how I fixed mine and give you a couple of ideas how you can fix yours!!! I hope you enjoy it.
You should watch the whole video .(sometimes I’m fun) So you can inform yourself with all the great information that I put in my videos and God bless. I hope the videos helpful for you!

Why would you not just use a compression fitting union to rejoin the line after cutting the section with the small hole in it?
Thanks for the video. Do you she. The part number for the fitting?
Thx for sharing
Question I have a 2013 chevy traverse my rear a/c isn’t blowing at all
So if this is the rear ac would that be a reason my front ac is not working sorry if this is a stupid question I have no idea when it comes to working on cars. My front ac is not blowing cold or the rear ac but I checked the hose that your showing it it looks like the one your showing if not worst.
If you block off the rear ac hose do the back seats of the car still get cooled air through the vents ‘powered’ by the front ac evaporator?
No…. It will run air through it like there was no air-conditioning the heater will still work
Thanks
2:31 *For my reference* Behind where, and after intake removal, leak found in hose due to rubbing.
great stuff. I have a question. is it possible to put a compression fitting (similar to ones used for broken brake lines) where the hole is in order to restore use of the rear ac without taking out the whole line? if so, have you tried it?
Yes It will work and yes I have done it . If it’s a normal problem for them meaning that make and model has that problem most of the time you’ll find that you can’t do it because of where it happens at but if you had a straight part you most certainly can do it….
By the way do not ever use compression fittings and brake lines…. I made a video about that couple of years ago when I was fixing a fuel line fixed and I said “hey you can do this to for your broken brake line” and then another UA-camrs reached out to me and he made a very valid point brakes are constantly changing pressure and because of that constant change in the pressure it will eventually break the line and you could hurt somebody really badly ijs
Do you do out of town (SW Illinois) engine rebuilts 2014 GMC Acadia or 2017 Chevy Traverse stretch timing chains carbon built up on pistons..Damn Direct Gas Injections…BS!
Yeah I certainly do I just did one of them a couple of weeks ago.
Basically all I could do is come down and pick it up and bring it back to my shop though.
You can email me at thenewClayway@hmail.com
Or you can look me up on Facebook under Clay‘s AC and auto repair and send me a direct message.
The flaps r stuck closed on my 2009 traverse air-conditioned. How hard is that yo fix?
Well have you removed the actuators?
@@sharpcarco no and I have no idea what that is. I will have to ask the husband.
He's going to check that. He knew what It was
That’s more than likely the problem there are three actuators
They control the door mechanisms. They open and close the vents switch it from the top to the bottom and control the temperature. In some models there may be more than three just depends on if you have dual climate control.
Anyways more than likely that’s the problem and it’s good to know that he knows they’re not often fun to get to you but they are replaceable in the driveway in about 30 minutes to an hour depending on location
@@sharpcarco thank you so much. Just me talking to another mechanic will get my husband jump started. It's been 90° plus here in St. Louis and it's not going to really cool off till October hahaha thank you so much for all your help.
I will for sure like and subscribe..
What can be done if when your ac is off hot air comes from the bottom floorboard drivers side
I double this question. Obviously there’s no replies here, but have you gotten a solid answer on this and/or actually corrected the problem with your vehicle? This is one of the MANY problems I have with our ‘17 Traverse. Thanks 👍🏼
This is the reason that I tell people to message me on clays ac and Auto Repair on face book because I never seen this message. I try to answer every message that I see.
That’s a simple one the blend door actuator motor is bad so it’s staying stuck on heat . Also, the way he phrased the first question doesn’t really make sense but I think I know what he’s saying. So it’s difficult to decipher what some people are talking about.
@@sharpcarco Oh, woah. Thanks for the super quick reply, man. Hope my previous comment wasn’t taken personally as if you weren’t active/helping us out or anything. I was referring more to community-wise, not creator. Lol
I don’t use Facebook even in the slightest, unfortunately given your contact method :/
I don’t blame you for not using Facebook but it’s an easy way for me to reach people. Lotta people don’t use it.. I’m not a super huge fan of it but it does function well for what I’m personally trying to accomplish. We’re just helping people.
Yeah, and I didn’t take it that way anyways I was talking more about the first comment that I never seen for some reason UA-cam does not show me everyone that comments I don’t know why I get some and I don’t get others. I try to answer everyone but I gotta assume since I answer 50 to 100 questions a day it seems like they must be a lot more that I don’t see.
What if it's the front not working and I want it to work
Well, I have other videos on that subject on how to check it.
I have repaired and replaced everything on the ac for my Traverse and it still don't work
What all did you replace man. I'm working on one rite now
any update on what really was the problem?
We have a 2018 Chevy Traverse and the air conditioner not working. Unbelievable!
I forgot to mention we bought it brand new in 2018 it was my RETIREMENT CAR 😭 BRAND NEW!!!
How did it come out. I have a 2019 brand new with 8 miles. The ac stopped working like two months later. Took it to the dealer and they said oh it came from the factory with low refrigerant. Fast word to 2022 in august. Ac didn’t blow cold. Right out side the factory warranty. Well evap went bad. Changed it. All is working after 1800 dollars later. Guess what few months later same thing again. Dealer said evap went bad. At least this time it was under warranty. Well today ac isn’t blowing cold. Dealer is closed now but oh they will get a call.
@@moralesn80 what end up being the problem? I have a 2018 and no AC and they can not find the leak.
Paid 180 for my vehicle to be diagnosed hope to help someone save this is what I’m paying $850 to be fixed : AC DISCHARGE LINE BUSTED. SPECIFICALLY THE LINE FROM COMPRESSOR TO CONDENSOR
Replace it and take it to a place and have them refill it. It’s probably an easy line to change.
You weren't my ac went out I got quoted for $1500 to repair my ac
Yep that’s capitalism….. And they’re probably replacing the complete line from the front to the back unlike in this scenario I’m deleting the rear air conditioning
Why the mask
Well it’s not because of Covid….. I suppose technically it was because of Covid the dog ate my false teeth and during Covid I couldn’t get any new ones so I was embarrassed….
