Hi 👋 I have to say this to you, you’re just awesome! early this morning 08/03/20 I just stumbled upon you video about AC on Jeeps, I been driving my XJ 1998 Jeep Sport Cherokee for about 3 years with out AC, thinking it was an expensive fix! so I went and did what you show us to do in your vid. and I’m happy happy to tell you that my AC is WORKING!!! Jeepyyyy ,thank you!!🙏you’re a good soul! god bless you and let’s keep jeeping.🍊county Ca,😃
I know its not the fuses or a leak. The compressor moves manually but not when AC turns on. I thought maybe the AC clutch, the auto supply thinks its the blower motor resistor or the blend door actuator. Your video has vome across my stream, so this test is my next move. Crossing my fingers for the easy fix. Thank you for sharing.
You may have solved a problem I have been chasing for months on the wifes 2007 Buick Rendezvous. For some reason AC Delco decided to not put a low pressure switch inline on this model, but mounted on the tailend of the compressor itself. I can make the a/c work by jumpering the relay, as long as I also jumper the high speed fan relay at the same time I get cold air inside the vehicle. have replaced the high pressure switch, made sure the freon pressures were good, etc. But no where could I find if the powertrain control module played a part in the a/c working...and without that info I hated to replace it due to cost if I was just guessing it might. So will check the low pressure switch again and if jumpering it doesn't solve the problem, go ahead and replace the PTM. Your confirmation that it does play a part, at least on Jeeps, is close enough for me to spend the dollars to give it a try...Thanks!
Thank you! Been struggling with this for years on my 08 Tundra. Was using clip on air fresheners. This took me about 3 minutes to figure out how to remove the clip. My wife's 2018 Sequoia Limited also had the issue on the passenger left vent. Done and thank you!
Thank you so much! This video helped me get my AC working on my Chevy express 3500. You helped my family of 8 have a working AC right as we go into a hot summer! God bless you!
I recently changed an alternator and serpentine belt on a 96 Riviera. You have to jack the engine up and remove the motor mount to get it done - I am restoring a 78 F-150 because I despise the new crap. Rock on and keep those videos coming~!
A nod of thanks to ya Lad! With the info here I believe I've solved my heat soak/vapor lock issue. Something to ponder, if the pressure is down in the AC then the switch won't work. Perhaps the pressure pushes up on the Schraeder valve plunger which in turn pushes up into the switch for continuity.....dunno but I had tested my switch and she read open. I added freon to the AC system with the paper clip installed and the engine running, compressor spinning. Got cold air in the cab. For laughs I ohmed the switch again and I had continuity. To summarize....low pressure results in the compressor not kicking on, electric fan not kicking on, heat building up in the engine compartment and then getting vapor lock. Here I thought I'd just get away without that fancy AC stuff and rely on 4X55 cooling.......
This totally worked for me put the tube back in and bingo ac was cranking again. Just tightened the tube up (it was cracked) with duct tape and fits nice & snug now thank you
My dude… My 04’ silverado A/C was acting up. Knowing me I wanted to trouble shoot every step to be sure it wasn’t something stupid. Sure enough it was exactly what you had said. The paper clip came in handy today 😂 Thank you very much for the help !

@@rogermorales4819 Unfortunately not, I don't know what it could be. It has a new compressor, new fan, new blower, new ecu, fuses and switches are good. Three mechanics, including one from ford dealership said the ecu wont turn on the compressor, and they don't know why.
I knew there was a way to outsmart the wiring system, and I wasn't sure until I watched your video. I checked the relay and it opens and closes at the right time's, the wiring seems legit without issue, and the clutch just won't engage. I know my refrigerant level is just at the high side of the normal range so I'm not leaking refrigerant thankfully. And there's no visual issies/problems I could find. Will try to short out the low side fuse first in the morning. It's 410AM at my location in new York and I've been out here since around 1030 or so. Thank you for this. I have a 2010 Honda Accord, it's very well maintained, low mileage, parents gave it to me when my SUV died and the AC has always been phenomenal. All of a sudden it just stopped working out of nowhere. It was fine the previous day, blowing ice cold air. Of course this happens in the middle of a heatwave while I'm about to start a new position at work that requires me to drive farther. I'm just a girl who likes to drive and admire cars, I have limited knowledge about fixing them. Thank goodness for UA-cam!
Yes it is it's an old trick for a 2-wire pressure switch but things are much different when you have a 3-wire pressure switch you can check the voltage on a three wire pressure switch but I do not recommend using a paperclip on bypassing a three wire pressure switch especially on OBD2 computer systems I always replace the pressure switches and Schrader valves anytime I do an AC job also if the pressure switch is bad you can slightly tap it to see if it is starting off you can also check the power disconnect the clutch on the compressor to see if you're getting current if you're getting current or voltage to the compressor clutch where you disconnected I normally check to see if I have power to the AC clutch first it also check the relays and the uses for the air conditioning system also in most used boxes on vehicles they may have four or five different relays that are the same exact relay for example I took the relay out of the windshield wipers and put it into the AC relay I knew the windshield wipers worked because I tested it it was the same relay with the same numbers on it with the same amount of prongs I had a vehicle one time where they three prong pressure switch the O-ring was bad and there was a leak there I used a sniffer to find the leak so my suggestion is to always change the pressure switch they do go bad hope this information helps you I don't buy Hearts online never know why you are getting
Thank you for your explanation and I’m sharing this to my sister in the Philippines. I bought a Japan Surplus Vehicle and the AC went off and the mechanic said that need to replace the fan belt.
Hell for 8 bucks I would try that first. My air was working when I stoped the vehicle. After about an hour, started it up and it had quit. It was raining that day hard. I'm thinking it may have shorted out that switch. Thanks for the info.
I think that pressure switch is it for me. I checked for leaks, inspected fuses, & swapped out relays. Lastly readjusted the compressor clutch clearance because it was too far out.
This trick saved me a headache when I replaced my ac condenser. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the compressor to work after I put in a new condenser. I got on UA-cam and saw this video. It worked like a charm with my Toyota corolla. Thank you.
Thank you so much Crazy to think what they were going to charge me I cant see how they can rip people off so badly My fix was just as simple as you showed me
My boyyyy, I see you with the Stros cap! I’m born and raised here north inside the loop of 610, anyways, I did this, compressor turns on bypassing it, but doesn’t blow cold air, the AC lines get cold but never blows cold air. I checked the refrigerant, and it’s around 38, I have a 2003 Tahoe, I think 38psi on Freon, (it’s on the green). I know when I’ve had a leak, the psi was on read, so I’m sure I have freon, I’m stuck.. it’s been so hot here lately.
Bypassing your AC pressure switch will not blow the system up. That is the low side. Nope your head pressure kicks up. You have a head pressure switch. They will kick the system out. All y’all do is is Barna compressor up basically and it’ll cost you more that’s all.
@@CharlesLease-ei1ee If the pressure is low because the refrigerant had leaked. The pressure switch would off to stop the compressor from running because rubricant oil in the compressor is not enough. So if you make the compressor run by shorting the pressure switch the compressor will get a problem.

OMG this is so awesome of you! My daughter and then me have suffered in the high desert heat! Thanks!
Thank you so much! This video helped me get my AC working on my Chevy express 3500. You helped my family of 8 have a working AC right as we go into a hot summer! God bless you!
Tricks like this can save hundreds of bucks~! Thank you for the info~!
I recently changed an alternator and serpentine belt on a 96 Riviera. You have to jack the engine up and remove the motor mount to get it done - I am restoring a 78 F-150 because I despise the new crap. Rock on and keep those videos coming~!
“You have to know what you’re doing to know what I’m talking about” that was amazing❤️
😄😄
Thanks for sharing !
So I put the paperclip in and the clutch started spinning but the ac is still hot
Hkhh
@zacharywilliams28 what issue did it end up being?
Thanks for this brother! My issue was that I needed to get the compressor to kick in to be able to charge my AC. Now it works!
Definitely one of the best clear and concise tutorials. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
@@Donnythelatemodeltech $10 repair to my 89 waggy was cheaper than $1600 quote to fix. 👍
This totally worked for me put the tube back in and bingo ac was cranking again. Just tightened the tube up (it was cracked) with duct tape and fits nice & snug now thank you
Glad it helped
Thanks dude, you saved my tractor 🚜. God bless you and your family.
Great video! Been searching for a video that goes over exactly how a low pressure switch works and yours is definitely the best one out there
Thanks for clear logical test and great communication skills.
Excellent video.
My dude… My 04’ silverado A/C was acting up. Knowing me I wanted to trouble shoot every step to be sure it wasn’t something stupid. Sure enough it was exactly what you had said. The paper clip came in handy today 😂 Thank you very much for the help !
Boom! First try. Thanks for saving me a a lot of time and money!
Thanks man been having problems with my ac turning on and off on me on the road checked this out and now it works i really appreciate it bro!
I dont even have a Jeep, but I watched this whole vid cause you are nice to look at!!
😂💀
Smh. Madam stick to your dating site.
🙄
Good job explaining and showing using the multimeter.
Just what I needed
Tnx
Glad it helped
Excellent service for a couple minutes that was great ,good job bro.
WOW,now I saved ALOT of money on my car insurance with your help
Very helpful, that paperclip trick is also pretty genius
Thank you so much I've already spent 2k on parts and diagnostics, and they told me they couldn't find the problem. I cant wait to try this in the morning on my car.
Did it works?
@@rogermorales4819 Unfortunately not, I don't know what it could be. It has a new compressor, new fan, new blower, new ecu, fuses and switches are good. Three mechanics, including one from ford dealership said the ecu wont turn on the compressor, and they don't know why.
Thank you for this video.
Been chasing this problem off and on for awhile.
Keep on rockin!
Completely forgot why I was watching this video, can't get past the eye candy!!
I used your video to fix my big rig. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Bro, you saved me a lot of money. I tried it, and sure enough. My sensor was the problem! I appreciate your help.
geat info helped me out a ton thought it was compresser did paper clip trick turns out the problem was switch thanks
I just watched this and went to my 94zj. You saved me a lot of money. Thank you
Awesome
Thank you for your support, video and description . GREAT VIDEO !!!
In Arizona it’s so hot out here. I’m gonna try this morning and hope this was my issue. Thank you so much for your help 😊
Brother people like you make life so much easier thank you!
Can this be for any vehicle?
I knew there was a way to outsmart the wiring system, and I wasn't sure until I watched your video.
I checked the relay and it opens and closes at the right time's, the wiring seems legit without issue, and the clutch just won't engage. I know my refrigerant level is just at the high side of the normal range so I'm not leaking refrigerant thankfully. And there's no visual issies/problems I could find.
Will try to short out the low side fuse first in the morning. It's 410AM at my location in new York and I've been out here since around 1030 or so.
Get a few hours of shut-eye and back at it afterwards.
Thank you so much! mine was just not plugged correctly. Did the trick!
Thank you, pretty good for a raw video. Very informative to me.
Thanks for sharing! Forgot some of the Jeeps have parts that swap with the Dodge Ram 1500's back in the 2001 to 1994 era. Logic looks the same also for AC.
😊😊😊... 1993 Ford f150 5.0 truck and 142,000 miles on the clock...Alota old wires , connections and hoses...Just changed out the Blower motor...AC worked before I did that...Now, AC clutch won't engage...Gonna try this trick..See if it works...Wish me luck... 🙏 😊😊😊
Thank you so much for the info it was encouraged to troubleshooting my JEEP a/c. I will try to fixed. Once again THANK YOU for this VIDEO.
thanks for the video, Brother. God Bless I will try it on my F-150 tomorrow,
Good luck!
Super helpful, thank you so much for taking the time to make this content Sir! I surely appreciate it.🎉
Thank you for this.
Is the mellow approach after a hectic day that I appreciate.👌. Good Stuff.
love this video man saved my day and money, was gonna buy a new compressor then saw this gave it a shot and saved me $400.
Thanks, I will def check to see if I can quick fix my AC in Tennessee sweating bullets. NEW SUB HERE
Yes it is it's an old trick for a 2-wire pressure switch but things are much different when you have a 3-wire pressure switch you can check the voltage on a three wire pressure switch but I do not recommend using a paperclip on bypassing a three wire pressure switch especially on OBD2 computer systems I always replace the pressure switches and Schrader valves anytime I do an AC job also if the pressure switch is bad you can slightly tap it to see if it is starting off you can also check the power disconnect the clutch on the compressor to see if you're getting current if you're getting current or voltage to the compressor clutch where you disconnected I normally check to see if I have power to the AC clutch first it also check the relays and the uses for the air conditioning system also in most used boxes on vehicles they may have four or five different relays that are the same exact relay for example I took the relay out of the windshield wipers and put it into the AC relay I knew the windshield wipers worked because I tested it it was the same relay with the same numbers on it with the same amount of prongs I had a vehicle one time where they three prong pressure switch the O-ring was bad and there was a leak there I used a sniffer to find the leak so my suggestion is to always change the pressure switch they do go bad hope this information helps you I don't buy Hearts online never know why you are getting
Waking up tomorrow to try this. Thanks very much for the info. Will let you know if it worked for me.
That's what you want - a "shorted switch" (which opens with low pressure.)
Absolutely will be the first thing I do if my ac stops working
I think that pressure switch is it for me.
I checked for leaks, inspected fuses, & swapped out relays.
Lastly readjusted the compressor clutch clearance because it was too far out.
This solved my problem! Such an easy fix. Thanks for making the video.
Very good video, ssd's simple and l'ltry it tomorrow. THANKS
This trick saved me a headache when I replaced my ac condenser. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the compressor to work after I put in a new condenser. I got on UA-cam and saw this video. It worked like a charm with my Toyota corolla. Thank you.
Thanks for making this video. Please do more. You explained how to check that perfectly. And in a way anyone could understand. Great video
Thank you so much Crazy to think what they were going to charge me I cant see how they can rip people off so badly My fix was just as simple as you showed me
Probably not getting ripped off. Labor and diag cost money. People need to get paided accordingly. Yes , it's expensive, but not usally a ripoff.
Impressive production...! Thank you...! You done ‘good’...for us out here..!
4:30 Be careful not to bypass the switch for to long, because you could blow up your AC compressor, if it is low on freon.
yeah no doubt.......dude teaches people how to make a 30 second repair a 300 dollar repair. why ya have to be certified is beyond me!
Exactly 💯!!!
😂😂😂
I love UA-cam "certified techs"
They keep the certified techs busy AF!!!
Bypassing your AC pressure switch will not blow the system up. That is the low side. Nope your head pressure kicks up. You have a head pressure switch. They will kick the system out. All y’all do is is Barna compressor up basically and it’ll cost you more that’s all.
@@CharlesLease-ei1ee
If the pressure is low because the refrigerant had leaked.
The pressure switch would off to stop the compressor from running because rubricant oil in the compressor is not enough.
So if you make the compressor run by shorting the pressure switch the compressor will get a problem.
Come on man all here is a confusion, a lot guys said nothing happen other guy said don't do it that way, wtf man so I'll do it or not, this stress me out any help
Thanks Donney, helped me a lot. Saved me money too. Much respect to you buddy
Thanks man, that was pretty informative. A lot of videos don't "what if" , and sometimes that's important. My AC on my pickup works good when I first start it up and then sometimes it will run good for 50 miles or it may run cold for 10 miles. Then it may kick back on and work fine. Any ideas?
Possible compressor clutch, next video will be on a intermittent worn clutch. Very very good example , some times it works 5 minutes, sometimes no problems at all. I'll link it to you when it uploaded if want, let me know . Thanks For Sharing!
