@Drosophila Melanogaster amongst the common people it actually means orchestral and\or symphonic music and that's what so many of them shy away from and that's what so many are thinking about when you ask them if they listen to or like 'classical music'. And they say 'no'. And if that's what the majority think a word means at a period in history then that's what it did mean, then, i.e. now. And they are mightily confused. Because many of them love the music from their favourite movies and computer games and much of that is orchestral, of course, and even much of it is symphonic... developing throughout a whole movie or a whole game play. So that we might all be on the same page we need another word for it but I doubt we'll find one. :)
GREAT ! I played this Partita as a young pianist and love(d) it deeply, 40 years ago. Since this time I heard many interpretations, liked the version of Mr. Gould very much. But I have to agree with Mr. Ark: your interpretation is the most wonderful, I've heard! Yes, please play more BACH ! You bring this great music to wonderful life !

Life is hard. I gave up classical music to go to pop. Then to jazz. Then to rap. But after seeing this, big chance I go and watch all Tiffany's videos. She's not irritatingly showing that she's great. It's just a normal shy person with an incredible gift and a weird memory.... I can relate a little bit. I play only music I hear in my head. Can't even read music... But no way I can play like her. It's not only the memory, but she puts an interesting emotion in the music. I know others that play the notes like machines without soul. Tiffany makes human music. Great. Thanks!
Excellent !!!! This is perhaps the best Bach Partita No. 2 I'd heard out of the dozen other pianists on UA-cam. She played the left and right hand so clearly that I can follow. Her dynamics for each hand was superb. Coherent. Tempo right. Very exciting.
I don't remember how many times I listen to this piece but it always brings me happyness watching you address the piece. I have to smile watching you fingers dance over that keyboard with confidence.
Tiffany please play more Bach! This is just too good! Bach's music seems too intuitive to you, as if it caters to your style. That was really wonderful.
Thank you Tiffany for today's gift. In the near future you will be recognized as one of the greatest pianists in the world. Your "Carnaval" by Schumann is by far the best I've heard to this day, performed by current pianists. Always remember that what you make available through UA-cam makes many people happy.
I am working on this piece and have listened to many interpretations. My favorite was Martha Argerich and then I heard Stephanie and this is now my favorite. Here playing is at the highest level and something I can aspire to but never reach. Thank you, thank you...what a gift you have given me.
After I heard this, I pulled out my keyboard and started practice the piece. It's great because now I know what it is suppose to sound like. Thank you. None of my teachers would ever just play a piece in its entirety. They would just play the parts I screwed up on. That wasn't very motivating. I think they didn't want to bias my interpretation. But I think it would have helped more than hurt.
That's so lovely. Also listen to Glenn Gould, Andras Schiff, Martha Argerich and anyone else you can find. Then you'll know how you want yours to sound. I'm also practising this
I went back to incomparable Glenn Gould to listen to this piece again, and for the first time in 40 years I cannot say that I like his interpretation better.

Thank you for answering the question. Your interpretations are felt deeply and are priceless as a result.
I have been catching up on your previous video and found this one which is a pearl. You play incredibly well Bach. I used to song so many of his Cantate so I have special heart for him. Thank you very much.

Aaaaahhhhh Ms Poon, How the keys continue to express your artistry in such a natural, clean and unfettered message from composers of the past. I so love to see and listen to your music, and this expression of Bach on a piece I wasn't really very familiar with, is such an interesting and mathematically precise melody like the first movement, but changes so fundamentally in the tempo and complexity as intermeshed chordal assonances and dissonances develop, yet still is underlayed by the precise and distinctive Bachesque timing. There are parts that shocked me in this performance, since I didn't equate Mr. B. with the nature of the sounds emanating from about 3:05 point in this recording........definitely Bach-like, but so lively and effervescent that one would almost think perhaps that Johann had indulged in too much expresso prior to sitting at his composing desk. Then at around 7:15 more subtleties are unleashed, never truly departing from the precision of the tempo, but insertions of very brisk and almost defiant melodies usher forth as if attempting a new musical dialogue......then, just one minute later, the lumbering of contrapuntal sounds drip from the keys like the constant sound of a runners footsteps on a boardwalk near the sea........and at 10:15 the children begin their incessant running around the playground, jumping and hopping, sprite-like until recess ends.....and finally the celebration of the joy of life, the "joie de vivre" emanates from the sharp and decisive flicking of the ivories as if to say, Hey it's springtime, flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, come take a walk with me and let's be merry together!!! Hey, what can you say, music affects us subjectively and probably somewhat differently from person to person. I just wanted to share some of what your playing this special Bach oeuvre tells me as I partake of the flavor of the notes. Nicely Done girl!!
Dear Tiffany! What an accuracy, amazing technique and, wich is soooo important and only IT actually makes the playing sound really interesting - an amazing talent!!! And, of course, a lot of hard work. Thank you for being such a great pianist! Keep going and never stop! Good luck!
damn! the way you play the opening sinfonia! the right feelling like the oberture of an opera.it creates the felling of introduction to the whole piece. well done!
Tiffany, you make me feel proud as an old man originally from Hong Kong. Your Bach play reminds me of Glenn Gould's - precise yet with strong feel of the music. Glenn uses less pedal via lots of overlapping fingering. Your achievement at such a young age has been just astounding. I had been ur follower since ur video on the Chopin concerto #1 - specially the 1st movement. Would you include toronto in ur next tour?
She is gifted with an excellent set of ears. The way she plays is directly related to this. It shows in her practice videos. She is hearing the piano in whatever space it's in, including the resonance, reverberation and decay. It informs her of just the power she needs for every phrase. She's very talented.
GREAT JOB! As you were playing this, I remembered listening to a recording of Glenn Gould playing this. While his baroque interpretations would not be considered definitive, his sensitivity to the written note was at a level very few modern players achieve. I believe he achieved this by singing what he played. Here is a discussion for your vlogs: Do you feel that it is important to sing what you play in the practice room?
Legend -- whether true or not is uncertain -- has it that, as the young Glenn Gould was just starting out learning to play, she encouraged him to 'sing' the extact note he was aiming for, which eventually led to his humming along, as though he was constantly accompanying himself ... And while I, sadly, happen to agree that his recordings can't be considered definitive by any means (but then, given my large collection of CDs of just Bach alone, I long reached the point where if anyone says that a particular recording is the definitive one of a Bach piece, especially the K2 which is his Cello Suites, is ... misinformed ... as Bach is so open to interpretation ...), nevertheless, as you adroitly said "his sensitivity to the written note" not only was, but remains, a level which few modern pianists has/does achieve, both Andreas Schiff (naturally), and, I would personally argue, Joanna MacGregor, comes very close ...
Oh, my favorite Bach sinfonia played by another great pianist. This one is a gift that keeps on giving and the third part was excellent. At some points of the Allemande I wished to hear a little more finger pedaling, but it's just personal taste. You were very on point on your interpretation.
Glen Gould is smiling down upon you. And JS Bach has repeatedly been overcome with joy to see the generations realise his dream. Bravo! Please, please, please more Bach.
Goosebumps. I like her left bass hand (and J.S.B. too, Lol). Karl Richter is whispering: Tiffany, pls. play it again on one of my harpsicords. Thank you also for uploading.
Poon playing and poon talking are quite completely different organisms. This partita is about as well played as it could be. The balance between the hands and the left hand support And counterpoint are so delightfully clear and crisp. I could listen to this for hours. For the talking I can only take very small doses.

You play right out of Bachs heart, I am sure he got happy tears in his eyes by listening to your performance! You are grown so much in understanding how to achieve the right feeling for this kind of music. Certainly have to get your CD right away! Best regards from Sweden, your friend Rainer
dear Nita, i like these type of comments..if i would let you listen to some Gould recordings and told you that it is for example some unknown russian pianist i doubt that you recognize Gould
Wow! Came for the Second Partita, stayed for the Bach. Tiffany rocks this!!! Last time I felt this amazement was the first time I heard Glenn Gould play this as a young man. But you bring something else to this that is uniquely your own. Please play more of this polyphonic structure music. What do you think of Paul Hindemith piano sonatas? Wow!! Very lovely! Very lovely. Thank you for sharing... God bless you, Tiffany.
So graceful and confident. :-) It's nice to listen to this knowing that you're happy having nailed it at the end.
Goosebumps. I like her left bass hand (and J.S.B. too, Lol). Karl Richter is whispering: Tiffany, pls. play it again on one of my harpsicords. Thank you also for uploading.
Soooo beautiful. Please play more Bach for us.
Your playing is AWESOME!
This is perfect ! I love this interpretation !
The fugue is very clear!
Such clean attack! Amazing performance.
Poon playing and poon talking are quite completely different organisms.
This partita is about as well played as it could be.
The balance between the hands and the left hand support
And counterpoint are so delightfully clear and crisp.
I could listen to this for hours.
For the talking I can only take very small doses.
Thank you for sharing Tiffany. Waking up to another beautiful piece. :) big hug from New Zealand.
Road to 300k subs! This channel really should have 3M subs! Outstanding performance as always!!! ♥♥♥ You are so underrated. I love watching your videos...You're actually a part of my routine while I work from home. Thanks for sharing your passion and talent!
Fenomenal!!!
Dear Tiffany, wow it was some time ago when I saw your last video :( Today I got a message of your newest work! So amazing beautiful. You play right out of Bachs heart, I am sure he got happy tears in his eyes by listening to your performance! You are grown so much in understanding how to achieve the right feeling for this kind of music. Certainly have to get your CD right away! Best regards from Sweden, your friend Rainer
Belle analyse .Bravo
dear Nita, i like these type of comments..if i would let you listen to some Gould recordings and told you that it is for example some unknown russian pianist i doubt that you recognize Gould
Excellent performance , ty Tiffany for this video, best regards from TURKEY
Been watching you for a while Tiffany you are so wonderful thank u for your thoughts always enjoy them
I WATCHED MOST OF YOUR VIDEOS AND THE ESTABLISHED STARS ARE GONE A SHADE DARKER I HONESTLY FEEL.
I would love to hear your interpretation. I really loved your performance of the Schumann Carnival suite BTW. The world is a better place for your contributions.
I love how expressive you are. Great job. I enjoyed every minute of it. 😊
