Saw Tiffany play this live at her London debut yesterday. It was hands down THE best performance I've ever heard. Standing ovation before the intermission.
I am glad to hear someone understands Maurice Ravel. I don't, but I love every piece of music he has written or arranged. I love Bolero, but what is it? To the matter at hand: This performance is flat out stunning!
I keep coming back to rewatch.. my eyes get teary everytime I watch you play this piece, I cant even put into words what I am feeling. U are an inspiration, a reminder for me to do something special.. I hope one day I will be able to awake emotions in others, the way u do.
My eyes have been teary listening to Tiffany in almost every piece, for over 15 years now. There are no words to adequately describe her playing. e.g. Chopin 1st concerto when she was 15, and dozens of others.
I love how colorful and unique your playing is! This truly emulates Ravel's La Valse, such an evocative portrayal of Vienna's once colorful and jovial streets, contrasted with the bitter memories of haze created by the famine
yes I definitely adore this version, her speed allows her to have colors and dynamics similars to those of an orchestra (also this tempo is the usual tempo of Ravel's La Valse orchestra version).
That was astounding. I didn't even know there was a piano transcription of this. Now that I do, I don't think I ever want to hear anyone else perform it.
After suffering pain like deciding choices of my own life, I chose to watch this video again. After the last notes ended, I cried, not because the painful feeling, but the inspiration and the power from your music, I can feel that the passion and the pure instinct and the peaceful power from the music, not only the melody we heard, but also some invisible power from music and the performance. I thought that might be the meaning of music, of life. I could be stronger towards my own life. After watching your performance I should ask myself that as a human being what are real, and what are really valuable for your own life. I might write too long, but that’s all I really feel. Thank you for your performance 🙂☀️🎹
After the first few bars I had to remind myself to breathe, then again...and again. Tiffany, you give new meaning to the experience of being swept away by the music. Classical piano was never like this, not for me at any rate. What a extraordinary experience!
Bravissimo ! As a fellow countryman of Maurice Ravel and a great fan of his music I find you performing of La Valse most colorful and impassioned. Greetings from Paris, France.
This is so beautiful ❤❤. The more i listen, it got a life purification effect. Amazing. The life flowing in the air. Feel so wonderful, to be envelope inside this musical piece. Partly because Tiffany's immersive playing. It brought me into totally another realms. Very grateful. ❤
When I hear the piano or the 2 piano version of this piece it’s just a wave of warmth and happiness that spreads through my entire body, i love this piece so such (and ravel in general he’s so great)
I greatly adore the level of emotion that is applied to each key . You and your sound are very unique. The others I can only hear , with Tiffany I can listen . Your great Tiff , t.y
I am not a good english speaker, but even in spanish I have litetally no words to express how amazing, brilliant, stunning and beautiful is this. Tiffany is one of the best pianist ever, love her interpretation always.
This has to be one of Tiffany's finest performances and there are so many. She has captured Ravel's heart. I know she makes mistakes. Everybody does. But to play so well makes all the difference in world. Keep up the good work. JRH
John R. Haws She shows a thorough understanding of the work and the pain and confusion it expresses. It’s a joyously romantic waltz trying to break free from the chains of angst-riddled dissonance. Represents Ravel’s tiresome efforts to remember all that is beautiful about his homeland and Europe altgother despite the war and suffering which plagued it at the time it was written - a war in which Ravel himself served in.
WOOOOW this is insane, you nailed it..! Huuge respect for this amazing performance. I could hear the Orchestra out of your playing, this deserves a full hall of standing ovation.
Magic! Actually the best la Valse i have heard. Thank you. Some of the phrazes are so personal and artistic that your playing keeps the listener on the edge of the chair, in a good way:)
A GLORIOUS treat! Thank you, dear girl, -- and thank GOD for your remarkable gifts both pianistic AND artistic. You belong in the highest echelon of the Pantheon of Piano Greats. -- and don't EVER let any tell you otherwise.
Amazing! Was just watching a clip before where this piece was analyzed. Knowing what is portrays I could appreciate what is happening here. Excellent performance.
I don't know why I keep coming back to this video. I couldn't find out any beauty in this piece when I listened to it for the first time...but I think I like this piece now. Thanks!
Tiffany, you have transformed from a child prodigy to an incredibly amazing mature pianist and performer. I loved your Chopin Waltz 64 #2. I'm not a big fan of Ravel, but it does show your amazing ability to blend talent, emotion, and physical beauty into a very difficult piece. You have taken over Valentina as my favorite pianist. None better.
At this level, all pianists are about equal, with some having particular strengths. Lisitza does the best Beethoven Moonlight Sonata I've ever heard: ua-cam.com/video/OsOUcikyGRk/v-deo.html -now that one is not as technically difficult as this Ravel piece (although the final movement is tough enough), but it's her beautiful expression and cadence that really interprets Beethoven so beautifully.
Wonderful I can’t stop watching you.you are absolutely fantastic. An unbelievably beautiful superhuman performance of this incredibly difficult piece of music.l am overwhelmed by you playing yet again.
Een en andermaal geluisterd: deze al wat oudere uitvoering, blinkt uit in helderheid en transparantie. Noot voor noot herkenbaar. En dat blijft boeien. Well done🙏
So So, So Amazing! Unbelievable! BRAVO Tiffany🎉😆! Your performance is very Espressivo and unbelievably powerful(you are very thin). I think you express Ravels ironical, mischief heart very very well! I'm impressed so much. And you are in very pretty dress. So cute🌼. I'm always looking forward to hearing next time! Take care Tiffany🍀. Thank you. Chao😊
How does someone so young and keen know to play the old and forgotten strum und drang of society's awakening. Tiffany is astonishing in her early prescience. May we all learn from her.
Numa obra desta envergadura, de difícil execução, sobressai da pianista o som maravilhoso que Ravel imprimiu. Pode se orgulhar, Tiffany ! Congratulations !
wow honestly every time i watch your videos, that one thing that they all have in similarity is that they scream the word "PRACTICE" asdfghjkl haha kidding aside, i genuinely think of you as my inspiration whenever im practicing, although i concentrate now more on playing the bass guitar (bcoz unfortunately im not rich enough to attend piano lessons). Anyways I wish you to be physically and mentally healthy for you to post more jaw-dropping performances, as to inspire other aspiring pianists/musicians like me!
Tiff you are amazing! Your playing encouraged me to put a lot more hours into my practice! Where do I get the scores? What edition is good??? I would like to try out this piece!
Often times I find that performers play this piece too fast and with far too much rubato. That is not the case here at all, as Tiffany does and exceptional job of bringing out the wonderful sound of the waltzing orchestra. I wish she would return this piece today as she has only gotten even better as a performer and her ear for audio engineering much improved.
Saw Tiffany play this live at her London debut yesterday. It was hands down THE best performance I've ever heard. Standing ovation before the intermission.
I'm listening to it on loop lol
Wish I could see her live too
I thought playing this with hands down would be impossible 😝 Well if anyone could, I'd believe it was Tiffany!
I just keep coming back to it. My favorite performance of the piano transcription of La Valse :)
Try Yuja Wang's! It's pure perfection and marvel. :)

Ravel meant it to be played like this. A deep bow to a superb pianist and performer.
Ravel is beautifully all over the place. This composer has dark beauty in his pieces.❤️❤️
