This happened to me last week, and I've got to share this story, not to pat myself on the back. But to show that you need to listen for God's voice. This morning, I got up a little later than I would like. Being off today, I was planning on going to WalMart early to get a few things so I wouldn't have to deal with the crowd. Usually if I can't get there by 9, I'll go to Kroger. They have the things I can use on certain dishes, just don't carry the brands I like. Anyway, I got up around 11 or so and was getting ready to go to Kroger, when I heard this voice telling me to go to WalMart. So, I went and got the things I usually get and the crowd really wasn't that bad for this time of year. As I was headed back to my car, an elderly lady came up to me and ask if I had a jump box. Of course I always have one with me so I said yes. She ask if I would jump her and her husband's van. Of course I said yes. Anyway I got them started and she ask me what she owed me. I gave my usual answer of a million dollars, and told her just have a blessed day. She told me they had been asking people for 45 minutes if they had one, and no one did, or wouldn't stop or whatever. She told me I was like their Angel. And I thought to myself, it's been about 45 minutes since I heard the voice. You see, this woman was asking God for help. He didn't magically make their car start, but He sent the message. I was raised to know to be obedient. I didn't know why I was going to WalMart other than to get a few things. But I was the answer to someone who had ask God for help. I went to WalMart to get groceries, but when I saw the smile on that couple's faces when their car started, I received a whole lot more. So please listen for His voice, and be obedient. You just may be the answer to someone's prayer.

She passed away last year at 86 years old and I have gotten so many of them reaching out to me on FB asking if I was her daughter and the impact she had on their lives. Many said SHE was the reason they became a teacher or their love of reading etc. Makes me cry every time one of the reach out to me and my siblings. Teachers are the best! ❤

Randy is an absolute legend whose heyday was mostly in the mid 80s to early 90s. When this song was released in 2002, it had been a few years since he'd had a hit. It's from an album of gospel and other spiritual songs, which music industry people discouraged him from making. It ended up being one of the biggest albums of his career, built mostly on the success of this song. It makes just as much impact on most people as it did for you.

This song dropped in 2002. Travis went on a tour to promote it and he joined the John Hagee crusade. They came to Vancouver, Canada, and my mom and me went. I was familiar with Hagee, but, I don't think my mom was, she wanted to see Randy Travis, and it was free, so we went. My dad passed away a few months previous and we were both in shock still. The service was a prosperity gospel, and it was quite different from what we were used to, but, Randy was very good, and he sang this of course. My mother was excited to see him after the concert. My mom passed in 2019, and this song will always remind me of her, and that special night.

Randy Travis has/had the most incredible tone and smooth southern voice both while singing and speaking. But as I recall he developed dementia or some devastating illness. Hopefully country music fans have more info on that. God bless him. He also acted in various television shows.

Thank you for this reaction. I have loved listening to Randy Travis for years/decades. HIs stroke may have tried to silence him, but he is still inspiring people through his struggles now, and his classic hits will live forever. I love his singing.

I love this singer. When my husband and I first started dating, we listened to him. Forever And Forever Amen was our song. In 2013, he had a massive stroke it not only paralyzed him on one side but also made it hard to talk let alone sing. I pray that one day he will be able to speak and sing again.

Randy's signature deep voice and old country sound. You'll love his songs like everyone else did in the day. He even did tons of duets with old school singers like George Jones. None of his other songs are sad like this one - don't worry.

OMG! THANK YOU! I used to play this song in my shows, but I can't anymore because there are 3 crosses in the median between St. Anthony and Sugar City ID. One of them is for my son Liam Reed Buchanan. One is for his beat friend Mitchell Hansen & one for Mitchell's girlfriend Talia. I can't play this song in a show anymore but I want to tell you how much it means to me that you did this song. Thank you God for music and thank you both for sharing it with people! Y'all are the instruments in God's hands.

Amber, in many ways you remind me of my daughter. Free spirited, kind, beautiful and she too is an educator. She teaches middle school band and she loves it. She loves her kids and they love her as well. Since she was little other kids and babies would gravitate to her. Right before winter break some kids were asked in their other class to write what they were grateful for, several of her boys wrote that they were grateful for having her for their band teacher. Talk about a great way to start your break. God bless all educators out there.

Quite a gut-punch for a song over 20 years old. The part that hit me hardest was about the Teacher. Why is it that we tend to be adults before we realize that the most memorable and wonderful people we've ever met, sat at that big desk everyday for us?

Randy Travis had what many argue is the best voice in country music... smooth, pure, perfect pitch. And he sang with such feeling. I've listened to dozens of other musicians try to cover his songs, and no one comes close. Three Wooden Crosses was released in 2002, so this is quite late in Travis' career. It's also atypical in that it deals with death. Most of his songs are upbeat. Although sad, I love this song for the underlying message; invest in others.
If you like his voice and style, there are dozens of earlier songs you might consider... "Forever and Ever, Amen" is probably his most popular.
Jay mentioned the richness of Travis' voice. Good ear, young man. I agree. I can think of only two other male country artists that can compete with Travis' vocal quality; Don Williams and Keith Whitley.
Amber! Nicely said, young lady. You've invested in us, and we are fully invested in you.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat here and binged your channels and laughed and cried with ya’all. We don’t know each other but there is such a connection and sense of community here. Randy Travis has a special place in my heart. He reminded me of my Grandfather for some reason, who used to sing to us and had a strong yet gentle way. He was killed by a drunk driver when I was 11. His name was Randy. Thanks for listening to this. I would love to see you react to Forever and ever, Amen. My family got together at a country festival right after my grandpa died and sang it together as a family for him. ❤
