@@kenp.9762 Alan's voice is better, and he writes many of his own songs. Can't beat that. (George wrote a few songs, but not his best ones -- most were written by Dean Dillon). The other thing I would point out is that Alan Jackson's songs have held up better over time. George's songs were popular at the time they came out, but most of them have fallen off the radar of popular consciousness.
OMG really? Why can't George Strait and Alan Jackson both be great? Why does one have to be better? They both can sang, they both have lots of hits etc... there's many great artists past and present, let's enjoy them all. I do love some George Strait though.
To add to a quick post. George Strait holds the record for most number one hits on Billboard’s country chart. He enlisted (not drafted) as an infantryman in 1972 during the Vietnam war. He’s on a very short list of inspirations with Georg Jones and Conway Twitty for almost all male country artists. He really brought about a return to traditional country music, and very much deserves the title of King of Country. So much good music. Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind, The Chair, The Fireman. Keep digging. It’s a deep hole!
King George. Dive deep into his music. I cross my heart, check yes or no, troubadour, to many to list. He never sang out of his range and still sounds the same today as when he started. He is a true country singer. He got discharged with today's country music and retired because like he said today's country is rock not country music. God bless you George Strait thank you for all the wonderful music.

In addition to George Strait's amazing career, I am also impressed with him as a person. He has been married to his wife, Norma for over 50 years and has never generated bad or unfavorable publicity regarding his personal life. A class act all the way.
I believe he is a true gentleman! When I was in high school my friend was fighting leukemia her dad a well known team roper and George Strait met him several times. When he heard my friend was in the hospital fighting he sent her yellow roses and when they were coming in the door he was calling her hospital room. I’ve always admired and will never forget that three 14 year old girls were in shock and her mom was too we all cried.

I've had the priviledge of seeing George in concert a number of times and, as a media member (radio), have actually been backstage and met the man. Not only is he pretty much just a regular guy and very personable, he doesn't put on a big 'show' on stage. He's just himself, gets up and plays the songs. Some artists are just able to interpret a vocal in a way that reaches people. George is one of the best at this, and I believe that is his greatest appeal. Country had gone really 'pop' sounding, which is fine, but George (and a few others) brought a more traditional country sound back to the forefront. He is the G.O.A.T. of country. "Check Yes Or No" "Run" or "I Cross My Heart" from his awesome soundtrack and movie "Pure Country" (yes he acts the lead). Awesome reaction guys.
My dad passed away October 2021 from Covid. This was one of his favorite songs. He spent a good part of his younger days as rodeo clown. Every time I hear this, I think of him!
George Strait once came to a party known as "Spring has Sprung". I was about 10. He played with Jimmie Vaughan and his (you might know who) his brother Stevie. I wish I had understood the greatness that I was able to experience. My dad RIP played harmonica with them. Thanks for the memories, and the appreciation of classic music.
George Strait handsome talented great singer songwriter musician incredible loved him since the early 80’s. You guys need to react to his 1992 movie Pure Country great story and he was so good in it
This song has one of the most recognizable fiddle strains. It is so hard to find a favorite of his. "The Chair", "Troubadour", ""I Cross My Heart", "All My Exes (Live in Texas)"...I could go on and on and on. All of 'em a true story-tellin' country!
You mentioned “Exes”. Great memory for me. The first time I met my future sister-in-law, we were kidding around about “all my sisters live in Texas” because they lived in Missouri and us 4 half-sisters lived in Texas. When we went to their wedding, she pulled all of us onto the dance floor to sing along to the song. We were all laughing so hard by the end.
Exactly this is where the cowboy rides. This is one of the cowboys rides away by George Strait answers. It's one of my favorites but I. It's all of it's all good. It's all. Is the delicious new traces
My favorite George Strait song is "I Cross My Heart". It was written by Steve Dorff for the movie "Pure Country". George Strait had the lead role in the movie as the character "Dusty Wyatt Chandler". The entire contents of the movie lead up to the creation of this song that is unveiled and performed by George Strait at the end of the movie. It's a good little movie you may want to watch at some point in the future. But, definitely check out "I Cross My Heart". Another huge hit was "All My Exes Live in Texas". But, George Strait has dozens of #1 hits to choose from. He is an iconic legend in Country Music.
I have heard so many great songs from George Strait. Some great choices would be "Write this Down," "Check Yes or No," "Ocean Front Property," "I'm Carrying Your Love with Me," "I Cross My Heart," "Every Little Honky Tonk Bar," and so many more. Choose anyone you want or a song I forgot to mention. There are just too many for me to make a short list.
Back in the 80's, I wanted to take my husband to a George Strait concert ,for our anniversary. I couldn't buy the ticket until payday ,and I was worried it would be sold out by then. I called to get the tickets, and the lady said that it was pretty full, but we would be sitting to the side, and a little bit behind him. But she said he knew people would be sitting there, so he would be turning around. Then she laughed, and said... besides you're going to get to see the best side of George lol He is famous for his Wranglers lol He is one of the greats in country. He is also in the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.
"Love Without End, Amen" is a must. "Carrying Your Love With Me" is a great one. "Check Yes or No" and "All My Exes Live in Texas" are fun songs you should check out.
Amarillo in this context is his next rodeo. Take the time to watch his live "The Cowboy Rides Away" concert. See who shows up, you'll understand why he's the king of country. The duet of "How About Them Cowgirls" with Miranda Lambert is sublime.
His 13 yr old daughter died in a car accident over 35 yrs ago.. he wrote "Baby Blue" about her. It's a very simple song, but I tear up every time. I'd say he's one of the best country singers.. every song is "pure Country". So if you're up to it try to listen to Baby Blue.
I graduated high school with the guy driving the car that killed her. They left a graduation party and the car flipped over. She wasnt wearing her seatbelt and car landed on her. George lived here for several years. My moms cousin babysat for jennifer n george jr. We met George grocery shopping here at the local Krogers in 1983.
The song was actually wrote by Aaron Barker. The song wasn't written by George. It's not about his daughter, Jenifer. However, it is one of my favorite songs sung by George.
My faves by George are "The Chair" and for sentimental reasons, "I Just Want To Dance With You". Sentimental to me is because it was written by John Prine and the royalties from George's single, that went number 1, helped pay for John to have surgery for throat cancer.
All my Exes... I love that one, too. In the movie, Roadhouse, Sam Elliott dances with a girl to that song on the juke just singing along. Sam Elliott has the sexiest voice of anyone. (.outside of my husband). My husband wins because it's my ear he sings into. Roadhouse stars Patrick Swayze and features Jeff Healey playing guitar. That's a recommendation and a plea from an old OLD hippie. You ask how old? yesterday was our 45th anniversary, and I was a month shy of 27 on my wedding day.
George Strait is the KIng of Country because of the breadth of his music, the lifestyle he led, and the content of his music. To many country fans character matters.
You can’t really go wrong with King George. My favorites are “Troubadour” and “I Can Still Make Cheyenne.” Oh wait…”Marina Del Rey” and “Run” too. “The Chair” is great…sigh.
I always loved "All my Ex's Live in Texas" It's a fun country song. Mel Tillis had a horrible studdering problem BUT he didn't studder when he sang, it was amazing. As he got older he sorta sang talked so he wouldn't studder but he would go on TALK shows & everyone laughed at him but I didn't because I Studdard TERRBLELY & had to go to speech therapy as a 4yr old & it helped me! Marty Robbins Hawaiian Wedding Song is beautiful, Ray Price-take the ribbon from ur hair, Willie Nelson & julio Iglasias- To all the girls I loved before. These are a few from my parents albums they owned & I grew up hearing them everyday. 😍🤠💚🙏👏 You definitely have to watch Willie in his Movie that was sort of autobiographical called Honeysuckle Rose with Diane Cannon as his wife! It's country but has a lot of comedy in it.
He got even more famous after his movie, "Pure Country" was released in 1992. I loved the movie because it had a really great story with an amazing romantic ending but even more because the story was backed by a great soundtrack of the music that he performs in the film. The most famous song from the film I know that you both will love (especially Amber) is, "I cross my Heart"
Cross my Heart is an absolute favorite of mine. It was played during the wedding when my husband and I were married. It has always been a special song to me.
George Strait has more than 50+ NUMBER 1's! He's known as King George for very good reason! He can do ballads, funny, romantic, foot stompin' and so much more like no other country singer these days. Some of my absolute favorites by him are: Adalida, The Chair, Write This Down, The Fireman, I Just Wanna Dance With You, Don't Make Me Come Over There and Love You and many many many more. Not to mention he has just about the sexiest smile.... Just sayin'.
You should him sing "Check Yes Or No" or "Baby Blue". He said in this song, "I'll be looking for eight when they pull that gate, and I hope that judge ain't blind." A rider has to stay on the bull for eight seconds to get a score, or they get nothing.
George has I think 50 number one hits I think one of his best is I Cross My Heart it's from a movie called pure country which he plays the main character and he sings I Cross My Heart at the end of that movie
Yes, finally!!!! George Strait IS the King of Country! He's got a huge catalog to listen through. He was my mom's fave singer so I got to accompany her to about 6 of his concerts. Thank you for reacting to this!!
One of my favorite of his songs is "I saw God today". It is so beautiful. Troubadour is a more recent song and I love it. The song "I cross my heart" is so romantic and could easily be a first dance at a wedding. "The Chair" is fantastic. There are no bad George Strait songs!
I would venture a guess to say "I CROSS MY HEART" will bring Amber to tears; seems to me the sincerity of the song, especially the official video with the scenes from the movie Pure Country will fill her with those happy tears (maybe Jay too!!!). Even though it was a 90's movie, maybe Pure Country, which stars George Strait, would make for a good follow up movie reaction. My apologies as I'm sure this has already been suggested, I wasn't able to read very many comments tonight!
Next for George Strait, check out "The Chair" "Check Yes or No" "I Cross My Heart" and "You Look So Good In Love". For a bit of fun, you will not want to miss "All My Ex's Live In Texas" and "Ocean Front Property".
He’s such a real cowboy. His daughter was killed when she was about thirteen riding in a family friend’s vehicle. George and his wife also have a son. Research his “hit” songs ( like fifty number ones). More than anyone else around. He’s my age and finally starting to show it, but still a handsome guy.
When I was sixteen years old my best friend and I found out this new artist was coming to a local honky tonk in our town. We begged our moms to take us because we were too young to get in. They agreed and we got to see George Strait at a place called Circle W in Seminole, Oklahoma in 1982. It was so cool to watch him over the years become the king of country and knowing we got to see him before he became famous. BTW....he did sing Amarillo by Morning!!
Y'all finally got to country's KING GEORGE! This is one of his earliest hits, there are so many songs in his catalog! He's a real one, as a country musician and as a human being, leads a pretty private life in his ranch. One of the last of the old true troubadours!
So many memories wrapped up in this song. Epic fiddle going on. George's entire catalog is worth a reaction. A voice like butter. Some other country greats would be Trace Adkins, Tracy Lawrence. and John Anderson.
Amber, you mentioned learning more about the rodeo. On the line he sings, "I'll be looking for eight when they pull that gate and I hope that judge Ain't blind", In the bull riding competition, the rider mounts the bull behind the gate and then when the gate opens and the bull flies out bucking and spinning trying to throw the rider off his back, the rider has to stay on for eight seconds so he can score points. Which is hard to do if you draw a really crazy, mean and spirited bull to ride. Riders have been seriously injured and rarely, a few have died from being stomped by the bull that threw them off. Bulls can weigh around 1500 to 2000 pounds.
George Strait is definitely the king in my opinion. He has decades of hits. Going back to the 80's! He doesn't have a bad song. Any you choose is 🔥

My dad passed away October 2021 from Covid. This was one of his favorite songs. He spent a good part of his younger days as rodeo clown. Every time I hear this, I think of him!
Number one selling artist of all times of any kind of music
George Strait once came to a party known as "Spring has Sprung". I was about 10. He played with Jimmie Vaughan and his (you might know who) his brother Stevie. I wish I had understood the greatness that I was able to experience. My dad RIP played harmonica with them. Thanks for the memories, and the appreciation of classic music.
George Strait handsome talented great singer songwriter musician incredible loved him since the early 80’s. You guys need to react to his 1992 movie Pure Country great story and he was so good in it
The best line in Pure Country; You know that white stuff on top of chickenshit well that's chickenshit too.
Yes PURE COUNTRY & the ENTIRE soundtrack 😀
Yes he’s handsome I’m a straight guy but I would let him use all of my holes however he pleases. No homo.
"Troubadour" is amazing! George Strait is indeed the King of country music!
This song has one of the most recognizable fiddle strains. It is so hard to find a favorite of his. "The Chair", "Troubadour", ""I Cross My Heart", "All My Exes (Live in Texas)"...I could go on and on and on. All of 'em a true story-tellin' country!
When I want to get moving, love "Every little honky tonk bar"!
That is the most respected man of all-time in all of country music!!
Absolutely the King of Country. He has a huge catalog of songs and hit after hit after hit. He's amazing.
The song is about chasing the rodeo.
He's had so many #1 hits, they filled up a double album call 50 Number Ones! You can't go wrong with anything he's done!
A friend of mine has seen George 27 times! So many years of hits - he is a legend.
George is a good guy. His son is too. We're all still brokenhearted about the loss of his daughter.
I saw him just once, thankfully.... I envy your friend, though
@@kenp.9762 Yes, she is indeed a huge fan. I have not had the pleasure, so glad you did!
George blows all the others out of the water. Great songs and a smooth voice.
You'll be there is one you definitely need to hear hands down ❤
Exactly this is where the cowboy rides.
Then she laughed, and said... besides you're going to get to see the best side of George lol He is famous for his Wranglers lol
He is one of the greats in country.
He is also in the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.
George Strait is called King George for a reason. So many great songs. One of my favorites is "You Look So Good in Love".
100% agree!!! He is King George!!
"I Cross My Heart" is one of the most romantic songs ever! 'Carrying your Love With Me' is great too. He has tons or great songs
Now you need to check out George Straight “I Cross my Heart” from the movie “Pure Country” and “Forever and Ever AMEN” by Randy Travis.
Troubadour, The Chair….
One of my favorites!!! He is the king of country! Nobody more country than him!! He is country!!
Damn Strait He is 🤠
Great comeback!! You couldn't be more right!!
Aaron Barker wrote Baby Blue.
Not true.
I love his song, "Baby Blue" it's about his daughter who was taken from this earth in a car wreck. He wrote that song for her.
He has more number ones than the rest! Thats why he is the king!
The song was actually wrote by Aaron Barker. The song wasn't written by George. It's not about his daughter, Jenifer. However, it is one of my favorite songs sung by George.
@@rhondalandrum8667 really! I thought the same thing!
@@carlastewart7519 yes. it's true.
@@rhondalandrum8667 it is a common myth and I'm glad you pointed it out.
My faves by George are "The Chair" and for sentimental reasons, "I Just Want To Dance With You". Sentimental to me is because it was written by John Prine and the royalties from George's single, that went number 1, helped pay for John to have surgery for throat cancer.
I love "I Just Want To Dance With You". Such a beautiful, romantic song!
Other George Strait songs you should check out include All My Exes Live in Texas and Ocean Front Property.
This song always gives me goosebumps. In my opinion it's the perfect country song.
Marina del Rey is my fave after Amarillo by Morning. That would be awesome choice!
Marina Del Rey 1000%!
I found God today, Every little Honky Tonk Bar, Heartland...wow the list is endless!
Love Without End, Amen is another one of his best!
I love all these! Plus " I saw God today."
I always loved "All my Ex's Live in Texas"
It's a fun country song. 😍🤠💚🙏👏
You definitely have to watch Willie in his Movie that was sort of autobiographical called Honeysuckle Rose with Diane Cannon as his wife! It's country but has a lot of comedy in it.
I like his first song 'Unwound' the most.
@@michelleedwards2636 ... hugs
I loved that movie, I have it
George Strait is the true and unchallenged King of Country Western music. He was raised on a ranch in south Texas. He is the real deal!
George Strait has most #1 hit singles(60) in all genre's of music, that's how special He is..................
Just sayin'.
and a good actor to boot.
You should him sing "Check Yes Or No" or "Baby Blue". He said in this song, "I'll be looking for eight when they pull that gate, and I hope that judge ain't blind." A rider has to stay on the bull for eight seconds to get a score, or they get nothing.
George Strait is the King, while Dolly is the Queen of country music. It's crazy that they have never done a duet together!
This song never gets tiring, NEVER.
George has I think 50 number one hits I think one of his best is I Cross My Heart it's from a movie called pure country which he plays the main character and he sings I Cross My Heart at the end of that movie
J & Amber, George had over 80 Top 10 Country Chart Hits!!!, so all suggestions should be good!
Yes, finally!!!! George Strait IS the King of Country! He's got a huge catalog to listen through. He was my mom's fave singer so I got to accompany her to about 6 of his concerts. Thank you for reacting to this!!
There are no bad George Strait songs. You should listen to Scott MCCreery’s song ‘Damn Strait’. People now sing about George Strait. Awesome catalog!
people been singing about George. Tm McGraw's first album has a song called give it to me strait
Granger Smith also as a song called Damn Strait which is a tribute to George Strait.
@@kevinsharpjr there's a few others too and at least 40 songs mention his name
George Strait sang one of the greatest love songs ever written. Cross my heart. Give it a listen please
I have 63 reasons why he is the king. They’re called #1 hits. It will never be topped.
Have you heard Jamie Foxx's version of "You Look So Good In Love"? It is stunning! It could be a hit!
As far as fun goes, "The Fireman" is one of George Strait's most fun songs
@@jeffgyarmathy4837 agreed! I would also add "Honk If You Honky Tonk". There are so many to choose from!
@@jtkool1503 There's definitely plenty to choose from. I just named 6 songs to get them sucked into the George Strait rabbit hole! Lol
@@Devila103 watching their reaction to George last night, I stayed up MUCH later than I needed to listening to some classic Strait!
LOVE this song. Between his beautiful voice and that country fiddle, WOW
The king! This song hit right to my soul! What got me into country. Can’t wait to hear what y’all think
More like 60 number ones. ;)
Another classic country song is " Three Wooden Crosses" by Randy Travis!! You will be moved by it!!!
Undisputed KING
You need to watch pure country with him in it
Y'all finally got to country's KING GEORGE! This is one of his earliest hits, there are so many songs in his catalog! He's a real one, as a country musician and as a human being, leads a pretty private life in his ranch. One of the last of the old true troubadours!
“Troubadour” is my favorite King George song. Kinda sums up his life and legacy in country music ❤️
So many memories wrapped up in this song. Epic fiddle going on. George's entire catalog is worth a reaction. A voice like butter. Some other country greats would be Trace Adkins, Tracy Lawrence. and John Anderson.
Yes, He is the King of Country. Their is no one even close. GOAT!!!
His voice is so clear and clean.
Add saddle bronc and bareback riders looking 8 seconds.
George Strait also did a movie called " Pure Country " that you may want to react to as well. But yes, he has many great songs.
Although I love GS, Pure County was pure crap!! Lol
He has more number #1 hits than most artist have hits. Hope you guys check out the band Alabama.
ALABAMA ❣️👍❣️👍❣️ YES!! 😃😃
ALOHA!!!! LUV me some King George!! 🤙Handsome voice on the airwaves and Handsome in person. Check out "The Fireman" for good giggle 😉
He has a amazing voice that gives emotion when listening to him. Every, single, time. ❤️
