Wow! You completely missed what happened in the song and need to do another reaction video. Don't worry because we all do it thus it is a "reaction" video. Love y'all. "Forever and Ever, Amen" is another great Randy Travis song.
There were 4 passengers: the preacher, teacher, farmer, and hooker. The preacher, teacher, and farmer died, but the hooker lived (survived). The hooker took the Bible that the preacher gave her and read it to her son (who then became a preacher).
Right! So basically she didn't die yet because at that time she had nothing good to leave behind, so as the preacher was dying he gave the hooker his Bible. She went on to read it to her son and spread the word of God, now she can leave behind a son who is now a preacher because of her teaching him. Had that preacher not died who knows where she would have ended up. Great song.
Yes, the hooker lived. She had a son that she read the preacher’s Bible to and he grew up to become a preacher. Y’all would have caught that had you listened without so many stops.
The hooker survived the crash. She read the Bible and it changed her life. She turned her life around and mothered a son who became a preacher. This is a song that tells us that no one is beyond the reach of God. As Christians we spread the Word of God not knowing how it may impact somebody’s life for Him. This simple gesture of handing a woman of ill repute a Bible led her to raising a son who would go on to leading others to Christ.
The hooker lived, she hadn't fulfilled her reason for being on this earth. She went on to have a son who became a preacher. Beautiful song! Love Randy Travis ❤ Great reaction ❤
I kept saying... Rewind the last verse!! ❤️ It is a redemption song of how the hooker read the Bible to her son, who became a preacher himself. Hugs to you both.
The Preacher telling the story was the son of the hooker who was the only survivor of the crash. 4 passengers a preacher, teacher, a farmer and the hooker. Before the Preacher in the crash passed he handed his bible to the pregnant hooker who was the only survivor from the bus.
Listen to the song! She left behind her son who became a preacher after she read the bloodstained bible to him and was guiding his flock in the holy word!
I am soooo sooo glad y'all did this song!! The hooker didn't die because she hadn't made her mark yet, she was either pregnant at the time of the avlccident or soon after, and she raised her son in the Lord and was saved. Her son became the preacher ♥️
Y’all missed the Point on this one, The Hooker Lived and read the Bible to her son who became a preacher himself, that’s y there was only 3 crosses and not 4
This one makes me cry everytime can listen to it a million times and the story always gets me 😪 I was fortunate to meet him and hear him live at the Houston rodeo. Randy was truly a humble man and one of the nicest people I have ever had the privilege to talk too. The preacher that told the story was the son of the hooker that became a preacher because his mom read him the Bible that the preacher on the bus gave to her while he was dieing. She was the one that lived! And her son became a preacher and told the story of the wreck.
@ Silver Riley Have you heard his ‘More Life’?? He performed it live on his 25th Anniversary special; only months later he had the debilitating stroke which all but silenced that 1 of a kind, amazing voice🥺 But I’d never count him out!! On his 25th Anniversary album the song also features Don Henley of the Eagles. BEAUTIFUL & frankly important song💔❤️🩹❤️ There is also a documentary out there called ‘More Life’ featuring Randy & his wife as well as several from-the-beginning friends & colleagues. If you’ve not seen, highly recommend knowing how much you love Randy & ✝️✝️✝️. You can even watch it on UA-cam! 7 pts, averaging ~10mins or so ea. One is in fact centered around ✝️✝️✝️. 😊 Stay safe & love much💖
God bless Randy... His music is beautiful and today he cant even talk.... He is one of the greatest and most beautiful song writers of my generation. And he is from my neighboring state of NC!!!
Yes actually he can, I seen a recent update, he's not like he use to be but he started playing & singing again, not professionally but he did accomplished his goal... 😁
The thing I love about reaction videos is to see how different people perceive different things when given the same piece of information. Others have explained it pretty well, but I think there's a depth that's being missed. It's natural to see the mother/hooker as the "hero" of the song. However, I think it's the preacher. He touched something in that young woman's soul that solidified when he passed his Bible into her hands then passed. It was the faith he passed along that let the mother change her life and instilled it into her young son. I'm a story writer so I have a habit of seeing stories in things. I can just see an old-style bus, 1950's model perhaps. Most of the lights are out and the bus is quietly humming along. Except for a pool of light in row 13, where two people, a pregnant woman with haunted eyes and a well-dressed man with kindness and understanding in his. Was the driver distracted by this conversation? Was he smiling to see a young woman's soul being saved and missed the stop sign. Does she see her old life in her son? What does she name him? Does her memories of her old live haunt her when she sees her son? Beautiful song.
The farmer, the teacher and the preacher all died in the accident. The preacher left his bible with the hooker and she read it to her son who then became a preacher himself to reach lost souls. So, in essence she left a great thing because she read that bible to her son and he went on to save other souls. Great reactions guys. Love it.
The hooker survived and after the crash changed her life and had a family and read the Preacher’s Bible to her son. Her son passed on the lesson after he became a preacher.
The hooker didn’t die. She read the Bible that the preacher gave her to her son, who in turn became a preacher, and is giving a sermon about three wooden crosses and how it’s more important what you leave behind you when you die. The accident is what brought the hooker to God, and thus therefore her reading the Bible to her son is what made him a preacher. 🤷♂️
I always thought that the hooker was going to Mexico to get an abortion and the preacher was trying to talk her out of it. She survived the crash and had her son who later became a preacher.
Jai! I have to tell you that you are absolutely the most BEAUTIFUL when you have a natural hair color like this! You are a QUEEN! SO pretty.... I'm jealous 😫
While on the bus the preacher clearly spoke with the hooker when they had the accident the preacher gave his Bible to the hooker remember in the song it was bloodstained Bible. At the end of the song the preacher held up that blood-stained bible and told the story of how his mother read it to him, which is how he became a preacher himself. Basically the hooker did survive changed her ways and read that Bible to her son and now he is sharing his story and his mother story.
The hooker lived. That’s why there’s only 3 crosses and she read the Bible the preacher gave her as he was dying and she read it to her son who grew up to be the preacher telling the whole story at the end
The preacher gave his bible to the hooker. She survived the accident, turned her life around and read the bible to her son who grew up to become a preacher himself.
What it said in the end is that the hooker survived and that the preacher gave her, his bible. She took that bible and read it to her son every night. In the end her son became a preacher and used that blood stained bible to preach to his congregation. She was saved and used her second chance to do some good thanks to the preacher that gave her that bible.
Oh man! I kept waiting for it to hit you on the last verse. I was saying " Come on...get it, get it, get it". I pray you listen again and you pick up the true meaning. It's not about punishment, it's about redemption. God Bless.
It's a story of redemption. The hooker was redeemed by the act of the dying preacher on the bus. The fact she, in turn, raised a preacher was testament to her redemption.
I know everyone is explaining this song, but the part that may be confusing is that there are two preachers. One died in the bus wreck after giving his bible to the hooker. The second is the hooker’s son who was telling the story last Sunday. The hooker got saved and red the Bible to her son. He became a preacher.
I got too much to say! Great reaction! Please do more of him specifically Randy Travis and Carrie underwood I told you so- his song but as he says she made it hers. Also forever and ever amen. Also the CMA music awards where he was inducted and honored after his stroke. Showed my mom and she cried thinking there was some good in the world.
Great Reaction? you must be joking. They completely missed the twist in the story. Hooker survived. Kept the bible the preacher gave her together with his wise words as he passed away. She later has a son. She raises him in the ways of the lord. He becomes a preacher and passes on the the word of god. The End.
The preacher left behind the Bible for the hooker who survived the crash. That changed her life and she read it to her son every night and told the boy how she ended up with it. She left the Bible and the story and planted the preacher faith in her son who then became a preacher. The son is now sowing seeds of faith to his congregation. What the preacher started at his death with the gift of the Bible is now widespread because the congregation member told the story to the world in this song. So much blessing from one small gift.
The timbre of his rich baritone voice is unparalleled. My favorite Randy Travis songs are Reasons I Cheat; Promises; Take Another Swing At Me; This is Me; Look Heart, No Hands; Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man; That’s Where I Draw the Line; I Told You So; The Box; He Walked On Water; Three Wooden Crosses; Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart; It’s Just a Matter of Time; On the Other Hand; and Forever and Ever Amen.
I am so glad to see youns after so many years. You have such a strong bond. Me and my significant other just celebrated 25 yrs. The hooker was given the gift of God's word, and shared that with her son. Who became a preacher. She was lost but not forgotten by the savior, and was given the chance for redemption. It appears she took it and shared it with her son.
The preacher gave his Bible to the hooker who turned her life around and gave birth to the preacher who told the story. Bless the farmer, the teacher and the preacher who gave this to my momma who read it to me. The last line of the song
This song by Berry McGuire is about 60 something years old and it's deep. This song is even more appropriate for today. The women also marched and protested the Vietnam War because they were sick of their sons returning from Vietnam in a box. The rich was given a choice to go to war or not but a draft was set for the poor so they had no choice but to go to war in Vietnam and fight this war that no one asked for.
Hey y’all 3 wooden crosses, listen close again, Cross for farmer, teacher, preacher, the preacher gave his blood stained bible to the hooker who read it to her son and gave it to him who became a preacher, because in beginning the preacher was searching for a lost soul , and so was the hooker, it was hers
It's one of my favorites... Always chokes me up... Randy's personal story will blow your mind... I won't spoil it, less you ask me to... Do you ever take song suggestions???? I got a couple good ones you may not have heard. Keep up the positive vibes!!!
Someone's in a good mood tonight! Two people in perticular....Half & Jai!?!?! I have always loved this song even when I wasn't a big Country Music fan!! But I became a really big fan of this song!!.God Bless you all!!
The Hickory left with the preachers Bible and raised her son by reading it to him which he became a preacher also. He then started preaching the gospel. That was her gift she read the Bible to her son and turned her life around and raised him in the love and admonition of the Lord
The hooker survived....when the preacher gave her the Bible he saved her....she read the Bible to her son who became a preacher. Thus song makes me cry still today because...like you two judged her wrong...people judge me wrong too. 😊
the farmer, teacher and preacher died. the preacher gave his Bible to the hooker ((who survived)) and she read it to her son every day and he got saved and became a preacher. THAT is what the hooker left behind.....a preacher who leads people to Christ 🙌💕
She survived and taught her son with the bible the preacher gave her on his death. He saved her in the last moments of her life. My momma loved that song she passed last Friday . She left a big family and all her love for us.
First off. "I Love you two". I never really listened to the words of this song, and when I listened with you, I was thinking "How sad 😢. The hooker wasn't acknowledged and possibly didn't go to heaven 😢. Then I read the comments, ( I have learned so much through comments). And they said, that the hooker survived because she was saved in two ways, one by the others through gospel on the bus and by the grace of "God " to finish her life mission which was to lead others to the Lord through her testimonials. Especially her son who became a preacher at the end of the song. I listened a second time and bawled my eyes out! 😭. Not just because of the song and story but also because of my love for God and Randy Travis who had such a God given gift but had a stroke that took away his ability to sing. God Bless him. ♥️
The farmer was headed for vacation, the teacher for higher education (I think), but the important part of that line was that two of them were searching for lost souls. The preacher to reach the lost, and the hooker who knew her soul was lost. I can understand the anguish that she felt. Knowing something was gone and searching to find it.
Love watching you guys react to country music. I lived in Cali for 6 years back in the 90's. My life then is so far removed from my life now, living in rural Wyoming in a town of 1100 and country is pretty much all anyone listens to. Never thought growing up this would be my life. I loved the city and all it has to offer. However, I wouldn't trade this quiet country life for anything now.
In the beginning he says of the four passengers, one was headed for vacation (farmer), one for higher education (teacher), and two of them were searching for lost souls (preacher and hooker). The preacher is obviously looking to save the souls of nonbelievers, those in trouble, etc, but the hooker is most likely searching for her own lost soul. In the end the preacher helps save her soul and she goes on to have a good life teaching her son about God.
THE DASH I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on the tombstone From the beginning...to the end. He noted that first came the date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time They spent alive on earth. Now only those who loved them Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own, The cars...the house...the cash. What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect And more often wear a smile, Remembering this special dash Might last just a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent YOUR dash? ~L. Ellis 💖💖💖
The farmer, teacher, preacher died. The hooker lived and the preacher gave her the bible. She ended up reading the bible to her son and the son became a preacher at the end of the song.
I don't blame you for missing it but I suggest listening to it again and it will come together and and you will realize how moving it is. The writing in country music like this is great!
Last verse. That's the story our preacher told last Sunday, as he held that blood stained Bible up for all of us to see. He said,"bless the farmer, the teacher and the preacher who have this Bible to my momma (which was hooker the preacher gave Bible to, and she turned her life around and taught her son (which became a preacher). So she actually let a greater blessing behind than the others
Y'all made me cry and it wasn't because of the song, it was because God knew she would bring a life into the world which became a man of God. Plus it changed his mother's path along the way, God is great. Marvelous!!
Listen again. The farmer left a farm and the love of farming in his son. The teacher left education in her students. The hooker lived and read the Bible to her son. The "blood stained Bible" that the Preacher put in her hand as he died. That son became the preacher who held that Bible up "last Sunday" as he told the story to the congregation. "It's what you leave behind you when you go".
Every time I hear this song, I get choked up at the end. The way the song allows the listener to have that ah-ha moment. Alluding the hooker received salvation through the Lord. That she read the Bible to her young son, now a Preacher.
The hooker was his mama, as the preacher was dying he gave her his Bible….the hooker didn’t die but gave her life to the Lord instead….beautiful message
#HalfAndJai. YALL GOT IT WRONG. Listen to lyrics The teacher the farmer and the preacher all died the Hooker lived that's what it said Do you see the promised land as he laid it in her hands. Then the next verse is he held that Bible up that the preacher gave to my mama who were gave it to me so the Hooker changed her life raised up a little boy who became a preacher himself. The son of the hooked is the new preacher telling his mom's story of salvation.
As the ol' saying goes ''God works in mysterious ways''! God uses people for his glory, even people that don't know God! The three people that died was saved and already ready to go to Heaven if something happened. The hooker wasn't ready, so God spared her life to give her more time to get right(saved)! So, he used her as she learned more about the Lord to birth and bring up a child to become a man of God (preacher) in order to reach more souls for God! Great song and God Bless!
I always cry at the end of this song. In other words she straightened up her life and had a family. Sometimes it takes a traumatic experience to see the light.
I can't do nothin else but love this song and your commentary...this song touches every heart that hears it. This man had a stroke a bit later. but is still alive and this hit still hittin
The hooker who survived was redeemed and turned her life around because of the witness of the preacher AND because of the gospel message contained in that blood stained bible. She later had a son and read that bible to him and raised him in the faith. Later, God called her son to be a preacher.
the dying preacher saved the hookers soul, and she kept his Bible and changed her ways and lived on to have a son who became a preacher and told his mother's story in his church.
Most places that have fatal car accidents will have wooden crosses on the roadside. The hooker survived and the dying preacher ( looking for a soul to save) gave her his bible. She was pregnant and she read it to her child who grew up to be a preacher who told the story to his congregation in church.
The way the song is written, we assume at first that the hooker was not valued by anyone because she was a sinner and "just" a hooker, and that's why there was no cross for her. But then we find out that the hooker didn't die, and that's why there isn't a cross for her. The dying preacher on the bus gave her his Bible. She turned her life around, got Jesus, and read the Bible to her son, who became the narrator's preacher who told the story.
I’m sure somebody already answered this, but the farmer, the teacher and the preacher died, but he left his Bible to the Hooker, who changed her life, and had a son who became a preacher.
The Hooker survived and after the Preacher gave her his Bible, she turned to it, was saved and read it to her son and her son became a preacher out of all that!!!!!
Please leave you suggestions and we will see you next video!

Wow! You completely missed what happened in the song and need to do another reaction video. Don't worry because we all do it thus it is a "reaction" video. Love y'all. "Forever and Ever, Amen" is another great Randy Travis song.
My suggestion is Josh Turner's version of forever and ever amen. Randy Travis did the original and there is a surprise at the end.
Caitlynne Curtis YOU LIED. Try that one.

@Nichole Zabroski - Right on!! What a great way to give a message praising the Lord.!!
The hooker survived the crash. She read the Bible and it changed her life. She turned her life around and mothered a son who became a preacher. Same here. It's so heartbreaking seeing Randy now. After his stroke he still knows all the words to his songs.
The Hooker was spared and gave birth to a child who become a preacher and gave his sermon from the very Bible the preacher gave his mother.
Life really has some twists.

The preacher gave his Bible to the hooker who turned her life around and gave birth to the preacher who told the story. Bless the farmer, the teacher and the preacher who gave this to my momma who read it to me. The last line of the song
Yes! Listen to it again now that you have read some comments, and THEN you will get the message!!! God bless you!
Always love the joy and sincerity of both of you. May God bless your family.
By the preacher giving his bible to the hooker, I think she got saved cuz of that & she read it to her son who went on to be a pastor. Beautiful.
The hooker didn't die. The preacher gave his Bible to her before he died. She gave the bible to her son who became a preacher. Great song.
It's one of my favorites... Always chokes me up... Randy's personal story will blow your mind... I won't spoil it, less you ask me to...
Do you ever take song suggestions???? I got a couple good ones you may not have heard.

Good job guys.Listen to it again you were on the right track.I wish you would have got it but some take a few times hearing it.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Did you see the clip when Kane Brown was singing it in radio station and they wheeled Randy in? Kane was floored. 👍🏻☺️
I've been pushing for this song 😊 Now try George Strait Three Nails and a Cross.
Love you guys. Quit getting stunned 😂, she lived and her son became a preacher 😂😂😂
THE DASH
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
From the beginning...to the end.
He noted that first came the date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
They spent alive on earth.
Now only those who loved them
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own,
The cars...the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering this special dash
Might last just a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash...
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent YOUR dash?

The farmer, teacher, preacher died. The hooker lived and the preacher gave her the bible. She ended up reading the bible to her son and the son became a preacher at the end of the song.
I don't blame you for missing it but I suggest listening to it again and it will come together and and you will realize how moving it is. The writing in country music like this is great!
The preacher left his Bible with the hooked. The hooked read it and read it to her son, who was the preacher telling the story.
Jai you have the sweetest laugh ❣️
Its been years since I heard this song and I immediately teared up as soon as it started. Randy Travis really knows how to pull at your heartstrings
Y’all need to listen to this one again: It’s a great message. Check the preacher at the end!
The farmer left his farm, the teacher left her wisdom, the preacher gave his bible to the hooker, who gave it to her son who became preacher.
Love yall!!!💜
Might want to catch Ray Charles and Kenny Rogers
Seven Spanish Angels
As the ol' saying goes ''God works in mysterious ways''! God uses people for his glory, even people that don't know God! The three people that died was saved and already ready to go to Heaven if something happened. The hooker wasn't ready, so God spared her life to give her more time to get right(saved)! So, he used her as she learned more about the Lord to birth and bring up a child to become a man of God (preacher) in order to reach more souls for God! Great song and God Bless!
I always cry at the end of this song.
In other words she straightened up her life and had a family. Sometimes it takes a traumatic experience to see the light.
Randy Travis had a stroke can’t sing anymore but he can sing amen from this song it breaks my heart for him I’m praying to get back his voice
I can't do nothin else but love this song and your commentary...this song touches every heart that hears it. This man had a stroke a bit later. but is still alive and this hit still hittin
By now you know the "REST of the story" (Paul Harvey reference). One of my favorite "secular" songs of redemption.
The hooked lived got saved and had a child.. and changed her ways
Most places that have fatal car accidents will have wooden crosses on the roadside. The hooker survived and the dying preacher ( looking for a soul to save) gave her his bible. She was pregnant and she read it to her child who grew up to be a preacher who told the story to his congregation in church.
The way this hits my soul these lyrics are so precious 😭
The hooker didn't die. She got saved after the accident and raised her son who became the preacher at the end of the song.
Faith moves mountains
The Hooker is the survivor. Got her life together, had a baby and the baby became a preacher.
Are you guys Stoned 😵💫
Really
Your happiness is contagious 😊
The preacher giving her the Bible caused her to read it and got saved. Then her reading it to her song led him to become a preacher.
The Hooker survived and after the Preacher gave her his Bible, she turned to it, was saved and read it to her son and her son became a preacher out of all that!!!!!
