    Good idea, even if you've got a different car, you can always relate it to your videos. Good tip doing the drawing.

    • @TransformotionVR
      @TransformotionVR  6 місяців тому

      Thanks mate, the drawing is the old school way of doing it but it's definitely right where as Google searches could be off a different engine or may not have added extras like aircon

    Things like alternators and water pumps can be scary jobs to ordinary folk because no-one wants to mess it up and make things worse, so seeing a professional doing it and having it explained in simple terms by someone who could do these with their eyes shut is always great. The DIY belt diagram is a great tip as well.

    One of my favourite parts was the diagnostics and explanation to why you concluded the alternator needed to be replaced.

    As part of your diagnosis was the noise certain parts where making a video after the repair showing how it should sound might be helpful, (and I think I might have bunged a new belt on for me sis ? ) Otherwise, keep them coming, something that's always daunted me (coming from a lifelong motorcyclist) is working on a cars steering, fault diagnosis, repair and readjustment has always given me the collywobbles. My only suggestion would be to do a before and after shot. You spent the time to show us a clip of the sound the car made when it had the faulty tensioner and alternator but didn't show us another clip of the the car running properly following the repair. I think if you did that, it would have bookended the video quite well. Still a good video though. You kept it very simple and easy to understand. Even if some of us have done minor repairs like this before, it's always good to watch and maybe learn something new. Keep it up!

    Would it have been a good idea to replace the aux belt? At least in my head a fairly low cost part, but one that could be prone to wear overtime and as you have to take it off and put it back on anyway?

    Fascinating. I only have one problem, I have no idea what an Alternator is or does. If you are going to do more of these videos don't just assume all people watching know what you are talking about.

    • @TransformotionVR
      @TransformotionVR  6 місяців тому

      Good point mate, I did assume ha ha the alternator is like a little generator, it spins around and generates power to be put back into the battery so the battery doesn't die, its driven by an auxiliary belt that is driven from the crankshaft when the engine is running, some of these newer alternators charge on demand so need a little clutch in the pulley and that's what I think had gone on this car causing that horrendous noise. Hope that helps 🙏 🙂
