I’m a shamed that I was born in 86 and never knew that she played that until I was in my 30’s scrolling UA-cam. Ever since, I share that epic live video as much as possible and watch it by myself all the time. Unreal. She really puts current music in perspective.
I’m still struggling with the timing a bit over a year and a half after learning the notes. Lol it’s such an beautifully chaotic piece of work. But it’s definitely also my proudest accomplishment to date
Saw Nancy Wilson in concert, 2003. They were great (an understatement), their crew were constantly bringing different guitars and instruments out to her to play for bits in the songs, she and Ann were right on Que, Ann's voice sounded just like on the studio recordings. Great experience.
I caught them at the San Antonio rodeo a few years ago and that woman’s voice shook the whole arena. It’s always a breathtaking experience watching the Wilson Sisters perform.
I learned that when i was about 13-14 and i finally learned that real fancy intro" to Crazy on you in my early 30s. It only took over 15 years to learn that lol
the intro to that she never plays the same . its all improvised. i heard her say that in an interview a few years back. and i seen heart, back in i thibk 2011 or 12. they were AWSOME! blew me away. they covered some zepplin too and did a killer job of it.
Proof right here that Nancy Wilson can absolutely shred. Dear lord, she sets those frets on fire. This is why I say both of the Wilson sisters are two of the most talented women in rock. Period.
I saw Heart in Denver in 1980 at the old McNichols Sports Arena. We had floor seats in the ninth row and Robert Palmer was the opening act, great show. Heart released an album, I believe the following year, featuring studio songs on 1/2 and various different live performances on the other half. They used their live performance in Denver of the song Unchained Melody, the classic made popular by the Righteous Brothers. Heart's rendition was beautiful and mesmerizing. When the song ended the din of approval, from the crowd's intense reaction, also found its way onto the recording. That means, even though my voice and enthusiastic applause is indistinguishable from the rest of the concert goers, I'm nonetheless on one of Heart's albums. Sweet! ❤
One of the first songs I learned. She and Steve Cropper, AKA "The Colonel," (Stax Volt, then the Blues Bros.) are two of the best rhythm players alive. Cropper will make "hot lead guitarists" sit down in shame, trying to keep up with him. My previous band mate/bassist who played for Stax Volt to replace Duck Dunn is the same way. A monster on base that plays the whole bass part while laying lead over top like it's just another day at the office.
The smiths did pop off in the 80s after Heart so Morrissey very well could have used it as inspiration for his tracks. It’s always fun finding Easter eggs like that in good songs
Silver Wheels is a small piece that she sometimes attaches to the intro. But there's an acoustic intro before the galloping beat and it's not Silver Wheels. Go listen to the studio version of Crazy on You and then listen to Silver Wheels, and you'll see that they are two different things. She also sometimes used Silver Wheels before Dreamboat Annie.
That riff right after that strumming part was credited to Roger Fisher . Howard Leese suggested that would be that way lol really the riff of that song
He is playing the intro to Crazy on You. That other bit is a different piece of music called Silver Wheels. Anybody with the album would know that. ua-cam.com/video/IdiGp_tyA-Y/v-deo.html
Nancy Wilson completely underrated. Fu"h" Edit: and the rest of the band too, as well as managers, roadies, groupies, fans, Hal fans, haters, and the people that don't even know them at all.
I just don't think most guitarists learn rhythm guitar by imitating others. Rhythm guitar just comes naturally when you can't or don't want to play lead. Most guitarists pick up an acoustic guitar and learn g c d and e minor. With that they can play 95% of all Neil Young songs and 93% of all Springsteen songs. Every once in awhile your best friend can shred like Gary richrath. So you just sit by and watch him while you still get half the girls
There is no fancy intro to Crazy on You. That riff you are playing is the intro to Crazy on You. The acoustic bit she plays before Crazy on You is called Silver Wheels. Anybody with the album would know that. ua-cam.com/video/IdiGp_tyA-Y/v-deo.html
The intro is Another video For another Day lol , you can’t play that, try playing the rest of the song even. Verses/ chorus exc. those are the real parts. Show us those parts.
Nancy is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.
.....and a stone cold fox to boot!
@@johntempest267 spot on.
Pretty too❤😂!!!

POV: Adam Warlock suddenly appears in your head 💀💀
Irl version of Sid from Toy Story who played Yellow Homelanders in GOTG 3? Pretty neat.
The intro solo is one of my proudest accomplishments on guitar.
I’m still struggling with the timing a bit over a year and a half after learning the notes. Lol it’s such an beautifully chaotic piece of work. But it’s definitely also my proudest accomplishment to date

Adam Warlock lives in my head rent free whenever I listen to this plus another 30 minutes after
Nancy Wilson is such an underrated guitarist she deserves more love and credit for her guitar work.
I'm a rhythm guitar player I've always enjoyed playing this song when I first learned guitar love Nancy she is a legend
One the best intros of all time. So good
I learned that when i was about 13-14 and i finally learned that real fancy intro" to Crazy on you in my early 30s. It only took over 15 years to learn that lol
I saw Nancy Willson and heart and my brain started playing crazy on you.
the intro to that she never plays the same . its all improvised. i heard her say that in an interview a few years back. and i seen heart, back in i thibk 2011 or 12. they were AWSOME! blew me away. they covered some zepplin too and did a killer job of it.
Love the intro well done!! Heart is such an iconic band. Would love to see you do the fancy intro as well 🙂
Definitely gonna practice this, sounds amazing!
Nancy is a Rhythm machine sure nuff and in the 80's her huge hair persona was awesome
Thanks, Anthony!!
Proof right here that Nancy Wilson can absolutely shred. Dear lord, she sets those frets on fire. This is why I say both of the Wilson sisters are two of the most talented women in rock. Period.
I like when Roger comes in with his riff..
Heart was So Cool..
They still are
Nancy says she lifted that strum from the Moody Blues song Question.
I'd have to say *this* guy is a rhythm guitar beast!
I saw Heart in the summer of 1983 in G.F.,N.D...They opened up for Sammy Hager!..Awesome concert!

my fav part :)
can’t wait to try this out
Wooooowwwwew. So much more sense just got made. 🎉
Nancy was also a huge fan of Alice in Chains from their early days playing in clubs. She is the female backing vocalist in the song Brother.
Love your videos!!!
I knew it the second he said it !!! Yes. Ahaha IMMA GO CRAZY CRAZY ON YOU !

The details... Nice Takamine!😊
Nice!!!!!😍👍👍
Even sounds cool played slow. Good job
Sweet
Question, Moody Blues, 1970
She gave EVH his first acoustic guitar!
🧑 oh no, you summoned him
Actually it sounds really cool at the slower speed
I can play the intro nicely. It only took me 20 years to learn .
BIGMOUTH la la la ha ah
I just realised that this sounds like bigmouth strikes again by the smiths
I thought of the same song!
The smiths did pop off in the 80s after Heart so Morrissey very well could have used it as inspiration for his tracks. It’s always fun finding Easter eggs like that in good songs
Well Nancy 'ripped off' the Moody Blues song Question for this strum, so only fair if it inspired someone else 😄
Damn Nice catch!! I can't believe I never noticed that before. Both songs are incredible 👍
Similar acoustic part is Кино - Перемен
Super fast and barre heavy part, but additional lead guitar notes bring out the melody
What is the strumming pattern?
Honestly it sounds good slowed down
That's a nice one..I will safe this upload for when access to a guitar
There must be someway out of here 🍷
Your a legend, thank you, you've made this that a vwgginer like me is play8ng this with no problems. You rock brother. 🍻
So funny that i guessed your choice before hearing it🤔
I practice fast strumming by playing gRape Me on acoustic. Helps a lil.
this is me when I'm a child designed by the sovereign who needs to find the squirrel known as 89P13
Who else sees the red special in the background?
For a second I thought you were about to break into Bigmouth Strikes Again by The Smiths. Also a good song for strumming practice
Heart....amazing guitar annoying music
Show
Is there a quick open strum in there?
Adam warlock arriving
Damn! Wheres that riff right after n before the vocsls lol
Adam Warlock
What if you can’t bar your finger
I use my thumb instead to hit the low e string
What's the real fancy intro? I know this part then the electric guitatr part.
Before the rhythm there is an acoustic introduction.
Yeah you're right. I'd forgotten about that intro. I found a vid with it later.@@joyk555
That fancy little into is not an intro. According to my vinyl, it’s a separate song called silver wheels.
Sounds like Hurricane
I keep a light gauge pick handy for that kind of strumming.
Where’s the full video?
GOTG brought me here
Bob Dylan hurricane
That riff right after that strumming part was credited to Roger Fisher . Howard Leese suggested that would be that way lol really the riff of that song
Out of curiosity what acoustic are you playing
Better play 'Bigmouth strikes again' by 'The Smiths' almost the same thing but it's a better song
That sounded a lot like Bigmouth Strikes Again by the Smiths
Adam warlock
Or play the intro to this calling by all that remains much better
Show us the intro!
He is playing the intro to Crazy on You. That other bit is a different piece of music called Silver Wheels. Anybody with the album would know that.

You forgot the leg kick
COMO HAGO EL RASGEO AAAAAAAAAAAA
Im literally adam warlock
see it's never this type of rythm that's hard for me it's that Neil young artsy strumming that's hard
Adam warlock theme
Nancy Wilson completely underrated. Fu"h"

Can anyone please tell me this strumming?..unable to break it down
So, Am, F, and G (like 70% of all rock songs). Got it.
The intro is Another video
For another Day lol , you can’t play that, try playing the rest of the song even. Verses/ chorus exc. those are the real parts. Show us those parts.
The slow sounds better!
Sounds like bob dylan hurricane
Say “This is how you play the acoustic guitar part” instead of all of that other word salad
He thinks hes adam warlock😂
Bro think's he's Adam worlock
Bro thinks hes adam warlock 💀
Learn bigmouth strikes again by the smiths
I see where Slipknot got snuff from
Yeah, because nobody else has ever used Am, F, and G
@@jeremywade6986 cope
Sounds like the smiths big mouth strikes again I wonder if anyone else will notice this
So you're saying Johnny Marr "ripped off" Nancy? Crazy on You came first.
@@pokerface8242 I said sounds like I never said anything about ripped off
Is ken shamrock your brother lol. You look like him
Naaa Moody Blues " I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band" that's much more intense for rhythmic exercise.
You talk too much
Just learn bigmouth strikes again by the smiths, better song
Learn bleed by meshuggah instead to level up those rhythm chops
Stolen from Bob Dylan’s “Hurricane”
Bro think he Adam warlock
You aren’t playing it correctly. She has some extra shuffles in the transitions.
