Is Houston crazy or a genius for buying these two rare Lamborghini Countach's?
be sure to subscribe and follow the series of restoring and selling these two classics!
Anyone else yes. Houston, No lol
Absolute Genius 💯 % with the relaunch they'll sky rocket 🚀
Genius Absolutely 💯 👏
Please don't ruin History...
Keep the cars stock! Knowing when to keep things original is the secret.
Nah your tripping, he is a true enthusiast. I think that’s why he bought two. He will keep on stock for value and collection, and with the other one he can do something very crazy like his other insane builds and keep growing his business and youtube channel. Not only that but the attention a 1 of 1 car like that would bring would be crazy. Houston is a smart guy, seems like he knows what he’s doing.
Very true
@@houston.crosta Yes sir! Can’t wait to see what you decide on! Goodluck with the process
@@houston.crosta the new v12 is what the new countach is for
Agreed, these two seem to be in great condition, could easily be restored. I’d say look for one that was flood damaged or wrecked, something with some history and then you can Frankenstein it with a newer v12 and a wide body kit etc.
Crazy find. As much as I would love to see them modified and see u do something crazy... KEEP THEM STOCK!!!!
Most likely will! We’ll keep you all updated
@@houston.crosta Keep up the amazing content, addicted to this channel 🤣
Keeeeeeeep them stock
Keep them stock!!
Leave them Both alone there isn’t enough of these stock ones around. You have two beautiful examples. If you want to modify one find a poor example with bad engine and beat to hell and do whatever to it!
I agree, there has to be a rolling shell out there somewhere waiting for an Aventador swap.
Very true
100%
Seems like you can buy Countaches even under $100k if you look hard enough. Some are replicas and some are legit. Take one of the cheaper barn finds and make it look insane. Think that would be insane. I think it will retain/gain resale value if mods are done tastefully
Amazing find. The Lamborghini Countach is the epitome of the 80's poster wall supercar. I hope you keep them as original as possible. If you want to sale them in the future, you won't regret that option.
What was that movie that this car was the star from the '80s to
@@zmoothview7706 cannonball
@@luiskoolman2957 not that movie
@@zmoothview7706 you got the 1995 movie "Rumble in the Bronx". Where Jacky Chan cuts with a sword an hovercraft in a Lamborghini Countach. One of my favorite Action movie scenes.
@@Roger190SL I found it. It takes two made in 1988
It's such a beautiful car. Congrats Huston. The black is gorgeous no doubt, however I think the white shows all the curves, and lines.
Beautiful car yes, but they say it is actually trash to drive and maintain :-D
@@Spazik86 I know still, is a beautiful car.One of my fav cars.
not too many people desire the ‘worked-over’ body style.
I would definitely keep these two stock!!! If you want to get one to modify then I would say finding one that’s a total “basket case” would be a good one for customization.
Nah LS swap them.
Extremely stoked to restore these 🏁
Modern Lamborghini v12.. its different and outside the box, you will get alot of good and bad, either way it would be an amazing opportunity.
Will Mike be restoring these? I mean he hates every single freaking car you bring him. I love it. It's like he truly hates you for buying these cars and expecting miracles
Keep them stock plzzzzzzzzz
Turn the black Lamborghini Countach in to a Canonball Run Replica Rebuild. Look at videos for ideas. ua-cam.com/video/8b7erU_DOfE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/evA3_NV7cPM/v-deo.html
Keep it stoked
The pair of those were a nice find, Congrats. Part of me wants to see what you'd do to modify the one, but I personally would get it tuned up, running right and leave it in all it's glory as is.
Just watched you last night on Graham’s podcast , wish it went a little longer , was an interesting interview hearing Houston open up a bit more than he usually does
Thanks for the support 🙌
Houston, if your going to make the black one more original, make sure you have whoever will do the restoration, to remove those later model year side strakes. Those were on the 1988.5 Countach models just before they came out with the Anniversary editions. Early low body cars didn't have those but the lower rockers with strakes were able to be retrofitted to cars. Would look much better without them since it's an '84 MY car. 👍 Congrats on the barn finds.
It's also too new to be a low body - I'd say more likely it's just been lowered.
Keep it stock! I think a countach build would be awesome, but maybe start with a slightly rougher example. Such a stunning pair of cars. Love the black on black.
Anything you do to those cars besides getting carbs back on the black one will devalue them visually and monetarily.. I would possibly upgrade the tires if I was driving often.
Restore both, keep both stock, flip one and sell it for profit and keep the other as a collector peice. But auction the white one cos you could make way over a million dollars if sold to the right buyer
I’d say if you are trying to get max value out of them then keep them stock. But having one of them totally overhauled, twin turbos and such would be really cool to see and some fans want to. “The worlds fastest countach”
aventador motor, merci 6spd, gintani f1 exhaust leave everything else the same. Maybe get the original wheels widened so they fill the fenders out more. That’s a real batmobile
Yea mod the black one keep the white one pristine and then once the "The world's fastest countach" becomes famous sell them both at auction as a pair. "The fastest and The most Pristine" And then you'll have to hook up Jacob Schuette for the idea
Agreed, put the black one back to stock, but please, please, please don't mess with them, leave them stock.
When is the salt water Bugatti series going to be coming out ?
The Bugatti is 98% finished. The last parts were waiting on are still back ordered (which makes no sense) but we’re hoping to release early March
@@houston.crosta have been waiting so long to see that whats another couple of months
Keep them stock bro, the white is the super model of the pair, it clearly show the lines, vents, details that are hidden on a black car. If you mod one make it the black as it is already no added features like the body kit, rear tail lights & etc. It has an 83/89 look going on. My vote is keep the stock and restore. Finish that damn supercar you were building.
I think you made a good decision buying these cars in my opinion I think the white Countach you should keep stock and restore it and the black Countach you should fully modify and do crazy things with it
1 That white car is already heavily modified. The 5000S was originally a sidedraft carb car so that engine has been swapped hence the modded engine cover for carb clearance since it is not a downdraft car. 2 The black one is a 2 valve injected car made while trying to figure how to meet DOT requirements, emissions and bumpers. The lower side strakes should be removed. These look like counts customs ex cars. Nice save if you tackle restoring them back to original/highest value. Good luck
Love the Countach. It was the first car poster I ever had on my bedroom wall
For many of us
Don’t have to follow my opinion but I would keep them stock
I assure you the guys at Curated are gonna be pissed 🤣🤣
So will Mr shrewdly negotiator Ed Bolian.
What a find Houston did!
Buy 2 barn find Countach's for a steal. Keep one, sell the other and make all of your money back. Smart guy!
We need a once a week exotic car barn finds series 💯
Houston is a smart business man! He is ahead of the game constantly.
Seems like these are just too good to change. I think its better to just get a higher mile car that's broken.
Watching this, it really struck me just how much all-black suits the Countach. It just complements the aggressive shape so well - as you say, it has that sinister look. I like the idea of modernising the white one - say by upgrading to the current Lambo V12, upgrading the brakes, etc. I like the idea of an updated Countach, but done with authenticity - unlike the 'new' Countach that Lambo recently released, that seemed to be just an attempt by VW-Audi to make a lot of cash by re-bodying an Aventador, without making any real effort to bring the 'old' Countach back to life.
"Barn find" has become such an abused term, these were in dry storage, they are in no way Barn Finds, not a speck of dust on them!!
Cope harder, scrub.
That sick, that black one is just perfect and a cool Countach build would also be really fun
Wow I can't believe you found two like that. Man I could only dream of one. I personally wouldn't do anything to either one other than restore to factory. But that's just me. These cars are just too pure to change in my opinion. I dreamed of these cars ever since I've seen a poster of them when I was a little kid. One day hopefully I will own one myself.
The white one is the poster I had in the 80’s , still have it. Please keep it in its original state. First I have seen the black one… also nice. Be good if you have both side by side and also driving them together on the road - be awesome to watch
Hey man, there's a guy here in Georgia that a friend knows that has a barn like this. Multiple countachs, Diablos, etc. All Lamborghini. All sitting
That’s great to hear! Email Mario with the info.
mario@royaltyexoticcars.com
Congratulations on finding these , glad you are able to purchase them.
Yeah congrats on getting two of them... Like wow. Also like others have commented I would say keep them both stock and maybe find a really rough one to do the mods on? How about putting an Aventador V12 and running gear in....?
Question for Countach specialist..... what’s up with the tail lights on the black one? Seems like something is off, I’ve never seen any with them recessed so far in like that, almost like the tried to graft anniversary tail lights?
Not a specialist but those look like US spec "bumpers" that were applied to the later models (compare them to say an Anniversary Countach and you'll see what I mean). I am uncertain if they were stock on 84 cars (that one is a genuine US new vehicle, converted to Fuel Injection in the US to meet regulations) but certainly they were on the later models. That's why the lights appear recessed.
Hell yeah the white one put a 6.0 LS motor twin turboed , upgrade suspension maybe bags , new digital dash , with a 2 tone paint scheme
Drop a V12 in it, Gintani exhaust, new wheels and wrap it in Celestial Unicorn!!!
Yessssss.
If keep them stock and pick up a modified one for cheap and do it yourway
Congrats!!! Forget the carbs. Convert the car to efi with ITB’s. Borla makes the ITB’s that fit the manifold you have and the stand-alone ecu will also fix the old dodgy ignition and it will run like a champ.
The Real Beauty of these 2 Amazing Lamborghinis are The ORIGINALITY, keep them STOCK. It's my Personal Recommendation to you my Dear Friend, and Happy Congratulations for the Great Barn Find. 😎👍
Who would have thought that our documentary on the Cannonball Run Countach would inspire the purchase of even more Countaches! Glad to hear that you loved the film and we can't wait to tell more stories later this year!
Both of these cars have been modified. Neither should have the side skirts and the white one has a different engine cover. White also has after market exhaust and embroidered seats which I don't believe were stock. And of course the fuel injection which needs to be tossed. My experience with a Countach is a 1985 carb model black on black.
The white Countach...wrap-it in a crazy eye popping color. And next upgrade the exhaust to something more modern and loud. Go mental with it!! Lol!
(Vegas fan here)
Houston. When they are completed take them here to drive them.
The opening sequence to the original The Cannonball Run was filmed along El Dorado Dry Lake Bed, just outside of Boulder City, NV. The chase scene features a Lamborghini racing past the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino (located in Henderson, NV) and towards the U.S. Highway 95 overpass to Searchlight, NV
I could keep those both stock and in mint condition. But you could get one more that’s not in the best condition. Modify that one.
Congratulations on the find.
Yes, mod and change the white one. New V12, exhaust, paint and interior.
Those are 2 very nice examples of highly desired lambos. Do your self a favor restore them keep them and when you get old enjoy the absolute gold mine you have. Because by then they will be even more rare and desired and lower numbers available.
Not really sure why you would do the white vs the black for upgrades. Black one already had mods. But it would be cool to see. From what I remember the chassis is all tube and can handle a lot so updates 1984 Lamborghini would be pretty cool to see honestly. Not sure about return on the work but I bet it would make it do much more fun to drive. Idk tough call. But if your not having fun with your cars then what’s the point of having them. Excited to see what you decide.
My opinion, is that you bring them both back to their glory days and enjoy them as they were. Nothing like the sound of that old V12. I am sure that you could find a junker and use that for the resto-mod. These pair looks to be in really good shape.
The white one is already heavily modified. The downdraft motor wasn’t available on the 5000s, only the QVs from 85 and newer. An 83 would’ve been equipped with the 2 valve side draft motor, so this one is a replacement motor. Also that engine bonnet has been modded.
I would restore the black one to original. Then do a murcielago/aventador V12 swap in the white one. Have fun with them! Let the next guy restore it to its original configuration
Wow the black one actually got some pop back I love the white could be cool in with maybe a modern SVJ drive drivetrain RWD LB with a 1 off exposed carbon fiber and Alcantara interior and lots of other tricks If you let me spend your money but in the end a great purchase
Thank you Houston for sharing such a time capsule of 2 countach’s with us!
oem all the way for both! You are custodians of some automotive history there guys. If you want an upgraded ride feel chuck a kit car Countach body on a totalled Aventador.
Sick Lambos. The black is 🔥. This, the Testarossa and Espirit were the 80's dream cars for me.
Small error. The black 83 isn't a low body model. Only the LP400S S1s were. Those were produced from 78ish to 81. Also, the white one being a 5000S model, looks to have been swapped with a 5000QV engine.
Low Body refers to only the LP400S series 1, which was from 1978, has a lower roofing, shorter door skin in height, and lower suspension.
Hell yeah that would be awesome to see a resto mod one new v12 with twin turbos or something crazy.
I think you should go wild that car, make it really special. Rebuilt the enigine, put a Fi-Exhaust on it new wheels. Finish it with a 1of 1 custom wrap. Make it look more exotic, that it is already.
You'll definetily crush everybody with it, at SEMA 2022
9:35 yes a modern V12
Burnt Orange metallic pearl coat, mate PPF, Gold low profile wheels, upgraded modern v12 turbo. I could see it.
Flame Spitting Straight piped, starlight ceiling LW Custom Kit, INSANE wheels, Japanese Under glow
Those are two very clean cars. I would get them going. Put them up on Mecum auction block for sale. Take the cash. Find a clapped out Countach to go crazy with. You'll be money ahead if you did it this way. Just my two cents.
I would get the both the cars evaluated and valuated to test the waters to see which one is the more valuable one and sell it. I would maybe modify the other one slightly but not enough to take much value from it. Think long and hard as well as give Jay Leno a call to hear his thoughts on his Countach.
Houstons mind doesn't stop working it's so motivational.
What I have ALWAYS loved from the Cannonball movies was when they did the washable paint and hosed it off to change colors… that would make some epic UA-cam content as well!
I'd keep them as is. Drive them around time to time just to get the juices flowing. Sit on them. The market will explode when the new ones come out. If they're not out yet.
Put them bothe back to original and keep the one you like more. Sell the other and use that for a crazy build starting with one less pristine since it'll be painted anyways.
I would restore these ones, maybe sell one, and then get a salvage car or a ratted one to do your crazy build with. That way no one can complain about you devaluing or screwing with a classic.
I’d change the white ones side skirts and just have the minimal skirts that wrap under the car. Also the skirts on the black one seem non standard too but maybe Lambo anniversary style?
OMG Houston i felt the same way. Im an italian shoe and jordan sneaker head and i watched the Hagerty foundation movie as well and i was so dialed in to buy the countach as well and get that one of a kind front spoiler on the front bumper with the 2 lights. I wish it was black but whatever itsthe coolest car in the world by experience and history it wss part of. Good Luck Houston bc i know you will undoubtedly get it done. Im in Scottsdale and i wish there was a way to help out as i feel my views and goals are similar to yours!!!
Upgrade the system is your. SVJ status 700 hp. Or more. Upgrade the interior to diamond tucked into center of seats or a suade pattern, paint it ebony black. There has never been a old school contact upgraded that way.
I stand corrected. Now a new coyntach LP 800-4 has 800 hp. So on the 1984 give it 1000 hp street legal 6 weber carp set up if you can find?
The black one is my dream car. Black on black w/ black rims. Looks menacing
u gotta twinturbo it and paint it candy apple pink with a pearl and clear coat slap 24k gold daytons and make interior that metallic style gold may pink or acid green put on bugatti brakes redesign the interior like a 2007 gallardo oh yeah straight pipe for sure .
oh yeah get those exhaust tips that bend up like 9inches
Both are beautiful however, the white one is just sexier plus the carbureted highest horsepower, I’ll take the white any day. That is my favorite car on the planet. Enjoy the car and hopefully you drive it don’t forget how to back it up lol
Put a Lamborghini v12 in the white one.. modern-day up grades on an older chassis would be awesome, to see how it performs would be a once in a life time event..
Since the white one is original and unmodified, probably best to keep it stock. Since the black one is modified, it wouldn't hurt to 'tinker' with it a little bit. I don't mean _throw a Murcielago drivetrain in it_ tinker, I mean, some subtle mods will be fine. LOL
I had a poster of this car on my wall when I was a kid. Still to this day nothing in my opinion can compare. I would keep the black one for sure
Mod the black with a red interior but keep the white one original. You could always get another one and then do a wide body race style and do like a sick interior
The Stradman just bought a White on White Contach from curated. 👍🏼 Great find!👍🏼
Both need to be restored. They will be more valuable!
Matte Silver wrap with gloss black wheels. Then throw an LS supercharged motor in there!
Cannonball run was my first thought when I seen the black one! And wolf of Wall Street was my first thought about the white one. 😂
These actually drive really well when in good stock running form. I wouldn’t ruin that, with modifying it to become more performance oriented, as the chassis and other bits won’t be anywhere near modern levels.
Not to mention the brakes - with 15 inch wheels to fit inside, the disk rotors aren't much bigger than an Oreo.
@@deancleaver1185 Great point!
I would really like to see a full oem restoration on both but if you really want to modify 1 how about doing a new aventador v12 with a new aventador style interior and keep the exterior stock full resto mode like people do the mustle cars
sooo i say wide body the white one with a UGR Buily twin turbo v12 from a newer aventador im sure the new v12 wont drop straight in but if you widebody it it leaves room for fabrication
Man those are gorgeous! Still the best looking car after almost 40 years!!!!
now that's an upgrade haha
My 78 512BB was a hot box sauna greenhouse but at least the side windows rolled down to get fresh air. The 2" you get with the Countach side windows is a cruel joke. Lol
A modern lambo v12 would be SICK IN A COUNTACH!!
Vừa vào đã nổi cả da gà 藍giọng a Phúc hayyy quá, mong sẽ tiếp tục cover ạ ❤️
Damn, congrats!!
I say wheels upgrade, engine and interior restoration to the white countach, and go bananas on the black countach !!
The white cars interior would look really cool if the car was painted bright red with silver wheels. Idk about the eggshell interior with white paint but with red paint it would look awesome.
I say leave the white one as is. Build the black one twin turbos with roof scoop going into the engine bay directed to each turbo.
Both need to be kept stock , the black on black because of the cannon bull run and the white on white because it was on the wall of every teenager in the 80's like myself, this car is what made me a car guy .
The white would look good on some deep dish BBS mesh’s with a front spoiler or some fog lights❄️💨
Just go for it 🔥 Aventador v12 with a gated manual with sick paintjob and wheel , and bring it to modern day 🌈 . Show Lamborghini how atcually the new countach should be done ✅
You should leave the Black one fuel injected bro. Carbs sound awesome but trust m, You *DO NOT* want to have to deal with carburetor problems.
Those carbs are why a lot of them caught *fire* back in the day!😬
(By the way, LOVE the black one. The white looks a bit too “Miami” for the Strip imho lol!)
I would love to see a Countach body on say, a Huracan chassis. Modern cabin, drive train and engine, but those gorgeous looks........
Imagine swapping the motor with a modern Lamborghini V12 and adding a twin turbo kit on a old contague😂😂 That would be so epic
