To those of you who are comparing my rate of growth with yours, you are forgetting one thing and that is HEIGHT! We are not all the same height and the distance between my shoulders and waist for instance is going to be different than yours. So don't get hung up on how "slow" you are growing compared to me - it's probably just because you are taller! Humans generally grow about a half inch of hair per month, and the variation from person to person isn't very big. In any case, try to enjoy the journey and appreciate your own lovely tresses at whatever length you have! 😊

A big hint for your hair is to not shower everyday, Don't wear elastic hairbands, don't brush it when it is wet, and do not use heat to it or it will kill your hair... Also start from the bottom of your hair and work your way up. My hair right now is at the back of my knees. I hope these tips are helpful for you, ❤

swedish girl I'm with ya. My hair grows slow too. Try washing your hair in cold water with sulfate-free shampoo/conditioner. Use oil masks before washes. Stay away from hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons, etc. And take hair vitamins. These tried and true methods are working for me :)

swedish girl use mustard oil for hair once or twice a week overnight before washing. it really helps in growing hair faster, stronger and shinier. all Indian girls use this and it works. I am also using this and my hair grows around 6 inches in 6-7 months. and yes braiding hair also works bcoz it reduces hair breakage and hencevhair grows quickly.

What really annoys me is when my 18 year old daughter goes out with us (her bright red hair is waste length) she has complete strangers going up to her saying how wonderful it is but would she not think of donating it! like it's some kind of sin to have long hair and enjoy it. other talk about the dangers and talk about story's of people getting their hair trapped or people stealing it in the street in various places. I'm starting to think they're just jealous!

It's a constant and annoying battle! I have hair down to my butt and I wear it in a braid frequently. I love wearing it down, but then people play with it, touch it, and tell me to donate it. I wear it up, and people tell me I should cut it because I'm not "appreciating it". I've donated almost 3 feet to Angel Hair for Kids over two donations (12 and 8 years ago). While I plan on doing it again, I want to just enjoy long hair for a while!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Very simple yet very detailed video. No long intro and the pictures were a great add because I needed to see it to believe it and be inspired by it. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! I’m just starting my journey to grow out my hair after years and years of having really short hair to dying my hair with box dye every month for 2 years straight and straightening it everyday, getting it permed and putting bleach on it and reaching a point where I realize that if I keep doing that I’ll eventually go bald. Thank you so much for this video, again, I will do as you did with some extra homemade hair masks that I used to do that kept my hair from completely failing on me when I box dyed it. Thank you thank you! You’re giving me hope. I really really miss my long hair and I am absolutely done with short damaged hair. You’re an angel!

I swear guys this will grow your hair use coconut oil or any organic oil you have even if it's cooking oil, the most important thing is massage your scalp!! just masage it every single day , at least for month and see the results my cousin her hair was same length for a 10 years, she massage it for a month every day for 20 mints and it grows out like crazy, her hair now is almost in her knees you hair needs blood to circulation to grow its really more important than the oil you use

I have curly hair the length of this girl's hair as well, and I've gone and asked them to cut the spit ends. They actually brushed my hair dry and I could see where the hair wasn't healthy and needed to be cut. They probably cut more than you expected because the split/dead ends went up higher.

IWS BALI well once in a while you should cut off the split ends, but you don't have to do it often. I think if you take good care of the ends, you can avoid split ends but once a year you should cut them a tiny bit so that they're even, I think.

Videos like this saddens me so much, I ALWAYS wanted long hair. My hair was so beautiful and shiny as a teen and just below my bust. Then I took Accutane at 24 and lost about 50% of my hair and what's growing out now 4 years later is dry and brittle and lacks shine. It's just so depressing. Now Im just gonna let it grow regardless but I am pretty sure it will look frail, thin and frazzled, and dry, when it gets longer. I can't imagine the how women with cancer and alopecia feels.

I stated 25th September (just past shoulder length - been like that for a year) in about 3 days I grew an inch or at least ¾ of an inch. I started on the 25th September and on the 28th it was longer. All I've been doing is massaging my head 5 minutes per day and leaving my hair in either plaits or French braids which prevents frizz also since my hair is straight and flat, using French braids made it look thicker and finally had volume. Gorgeous hair!!! I also joined long hair community a little over 1 1/2 year ago, and it has helped me a lot on my hair journey ! I started off with a mid-back length and now it has just reached tail bone, its basically right above it when dry and in natural state ( 2c/3a hair type), so I'm super excited and happy and seeing videos like yours makes me even more motivated to continue my journey and feel positive about reaching my goals!!

When I was a very younger teen like 15 I was going through a lot of crappy stuff and made a lot of poor choices, which included cutting and shaving my hair into a mohawk, which I don't mind on other people and I still dress goth/punk to this day but it was nooooooooooot a good idea in the end for me personally. That was like 4 years ago and my hair currently is similar to your Year 1 look. It's grown quite a bit since I've shaved it and my goal is for it to be to my hips

I just got a VERY bad haircut where I said I wanted a dusting and the hairstylist razored of my hair into these weird layers and it was definitely not what I wanted even though I was clear, and detailed in explaining what I wanted. I am now back at square one after trying to grow my hair out for 2 years. I'm trying not to get upset about it because it is just hair and it'll grow back, but I can't help but still being very pissed that my hair is not only shorter, but ruined with weird layers that I never wanted. In between, I brush with a Mason Pearson to distribute oils, and spritz with WEN Replenishing Mist. I went from shoulder-length to healthy, shiny waist-length in 4 1/2 years.

Thank you for sharing your hair growth journey... When I was 29 I could sit on my hair, but for some reason I had it cut first 12 inches and again had it cut 12 inches...and again... so I ended up with short hair and hated it... Starting 20 years ago, I tried to grow it long but even having just "trims" at the hairdresser, it did not grow long... and stayed about shoulder length. About 3 years ago I decided not to get it cut anymore and now it is pretty ragged at the ends, but the longest part is now at my waist... I don't think a person has long hair until they can sit on it, so that is what I am now aiming for... At this point in time, my hair is naturally platinum... I am 73 years old and still dreaming of being able to sit on my hair again...

    • @Dakiniwoman
      @Dakiniwoman 5 років тому

a basketboy... thanks for your comment... Now that it's long enough I can bring the ends around and see if they are split and just trim any splts myself ... I think I posted that comment a month or so ago and my hair is actually past my waist now... I learned how to put it up with a hair stick and so I do that when it is damp after washing and let that dry... when I take the hair stick out it ends up with amazing spiral curls... so easy and so fun to use a hairstick...

Stupidly Amazing just warm coconut/olive/almond/sesame oil(NOT IN THE MICROWAVE) in a pot or in a bowl placed into hot water and apply it to your scalp and the rest of your hair including the tips while WARM not hot.Leave it for 20-30 minutes in your hair and rinse w/ shampoo and conditioner.

This motivates me so much! My ultimate life goal is pretty much just growing my hair as long as yours without dying it and then chop it all off and donate it :) I'm growing out a pixie at the moment.

    Hi Britt!
Wow... this is so inspiring! Congratulations! Your hair is so perfect!
My mom made me go to the hair salon a month ago insisting my hair was ugly and damaged and they just chopped it off! I'm so depressed right now... I absolutely love long hair, you know that... and now mine is so short! Above shoulder length... =\ I hope it grows out fast... you are my inspiration! This hair video came just on time!
    Happy Hairgrowth b-day! hahaha
    XOXO

Haha - thank you! I should get my hair a cake...but keep it far away from the candles lol. What the heck mom! Oh well - don't be depressed. Hair will grow back! And I'm sure it will be very fast. Just keep taking care of it - you will get there!

Your journey is similar to mine. Mine was as short as yours and I was ten years old when I started growing it out. I also used to have bangs. I've been growing it for six years without anything special, just not cutting it often. It's a few inches shorter than yours, but it's so long and I'm still growing it out. It's awesome.

With this length of hair I think you would look so good with high pony tail (:

Your trimming experience is why I will always, always, ALWAYS trim my own hair myself. Lol. It’s not too hard if you do your research and watch loooooots of how to videos and practice practice practice.
