    Thank you for mentioning that lots of short hairs on top of your head can be a good sign, a sign that your hair is growing back. I had an eating disorder for years which made me lose half of my hair, and it's finally growing back now. I have so many short fly aways, but you made me realize I should appreciate them :)

      Same here. I waterfasted on and off for a year and change instead of properly tracking and lost 180 lbs. I had such beautiful hair to my tailbone before I did this to myself, now it's to my mid shoulder blades and I have lost loads of volume. I get lightheaded if I stand up too quickly and sometimes wake with bruises on my legs in the morning if my legs were crossed in my sleep. I'm in a phase of eating tiny meals and slowly raising my BMR so I don't gain everything back but I'm too weak to walk around my campus or exercise. Just eat healthy meals, be active throughout the day, and workout in the gym within reason. Eating disorders and fad diets are the devil.

    I just shaved my head about a month and a half ago, and my goal is hair down to my bellybutton. It’s a very, very long term goal, but now that the chemically damaged hair is gone, my hair can finally grow to it’s full potential! This video is so inspiring & I love the advice (:

    Thank you for showing us you shorter hairs, I have been growing my hair out from a buzzcut that had bangs for about 4 years now, and I always worry about the tiny strands that either get caught in my glasses or the visible "side of the head" strands that never get any longer. The whole "baby hairs" thing, my little sister says it and it grates my nerves, and I just have to look at her and say "baby hairs come out of baby heads, those hairs you're seeing are just you're hair." I have also started using 2 hair clips in similar fashion that you do so I'm very grateful for you're videos.

    I also have a few friends with hair this long. I used to like my hair shorter when I was little but a few days ago, I realized that I regret it and I want to grow my hair down to either tailbone or classic length. My hair right now is still down to my waist. I do have a habit of using heat to straighten my hair and the iron was tearing my bangs. My sister's hair is naturally straight. I'm so jealous of her. I have to straighten mine.

    Brittt!!! So good to see you uploading!!! Your hair looks stunning!!
    I too had to decide on an easier length for myself after I had my hair long--that would have been in the mid 80s when I wouldn't even let someone trim it. It was long enough to sit on, but being at the barn became more of a thing for me, and with the heat of the summer, I had my dad cut the V portion into U. I was very happy to have it blunt and I would say it took about 5 inches off. My friends didn't even notice :D. I then had some bad cuts, one of which had it to my shoulders, and thus began my 'no cut life' in my early 20s. In some ways, it worked because I was living at a farm for the summer working at an overnight camp, and it made it far easier to just put up. It also cut away damage from sun-in and lemon juice highlighting. :D I would say my hair was at it's best in my mid to late 20s, and oddly enough, that was when I was competing and riding a ton. I did , like you, keep it at just above tailbone length (Though that might be shorter for many as I'm very short torsoed) My hair just looked too long to me, and my braid would thin out as it got that long. It was braided for my showing, so I wanted it to look nicer (even though it was up in a net). To this day, waist/tailbone is the best for me :)
    Ah...the grays---exactly where I started to go gray. Keep an eye out for texture change. Actually, my hair got wavy at around 15/16. Now it is down right ringlets in the sides, wavy near the back with a section in the back that is flat as a pancake :D

    • @makeupandcoffee
      @makeupandcoffee  6 років тому

      Oh boy, so this is what I have to look forward to - ringlets plus pancake. 😂😂😂

    • @Scrappicat
      @Scrappicat 6 років тому

      I have ringlets plus pancake but my pancake is right in front on both sides. Seriously annoying. It's been that way since high school.

    Yay for the upcoming dude video!
    And way to rock the gray hairs like a champ... Great video! Loved the bit about the baby hairs... I came to the same realization a while back. Though I will say it is easier to rock them when your hair has a bit more length.
    Anywho, enjoy your week and Happy 4th!

      Good point about the length - it's definitely easier to force baby hairs into submission if you have the weight of longer hairs.

    I have long hair and recently I have decided to go as far as I can stand it with the length.I always told my mom as a kid that I wanted to wear my hair as a dress!
    For the grey, eat eggs,spinach or take a multi vitamin.Plenty iron and folic acid.Also no stress.Laugh every day!
    I constantly take notes on hair tips;I have done this since a teen.Hair fetish,yes I have it and proud!

    LONG HAIR SOS! Can anyone recommend a silicone based product (conditioner, leave in, detangler or combination) for fine, non-porous hair that will give it more slip when its dry??!! Is this possible?? My hair is almost to my waist, but I can't wear it down anymore because it tangles so goddamn badly that its causing breakage to the ends. I've been silicone free for a year but my ends are getting fried because my cuticle's so tight (that's what she said) that it won't absorb ANY oils. HELPPPPP!

    I've never had my hair in a bun or braid while sleeping...it's one of the weirdest things I've ever heard lol
    Anyway, I hit my hip at 15 months, starting at APL, and kinda micro trimming now to even the hemline. Also growing out bleach/peroxide.
    Who knows where it will be in 6 months?? :)
    And yeh, grey hairs! You don't have many yet, try and stay away from dye as much you can. I didn't see a grey till after 30, but trying to hide them is crazy! I'm going to invest in like manic panic black, blue, green and purple to make my own shade of brown. Box brown dye has too high a level of developer, leaves my hair orange/red. My natural colour is ash brown.

    I got my hair cut about a month ago because I wanted to make it healthy to grow it long, BUT THE LADY MESSSSSSED UP MY HAIR!!! When I say messed up, I mean MESSED up. My hair used to be about 3 inches above my boobs and I asked for 1 1/2 inches off for a trim, and she cut off 7 inches!!! She kept telling me that she was a master hair cutter so I thought she would be good. She chopped off a huge chunk in the front of my face and said "I made layers for you to frame your face." IT LOOKS LIKE I HAVE A BOWL CUT WITH A LONG MULLET IN THE BACK!! I literally put my hair up all the time just to save myself the embarrassment. So thank you for your videos, hopefully my hair will grow faster. If anyone wants to see the photo of my hair, I try my best to show you just ask! Worst part is that haircut was 80 bucks in total!!!

    YIPEEEE!! Congrats on the new home!!! Looking beautiful and happy and healthy! I started getting greys on the sides too and at the top part due to a horribly stressful job. Happened within 4 months! I hate chemicals. I've been using organic henna (Light Mountain is the best and inexpensive) for four years now and my hair looks natural as the henna just tints and natural highlights shine through. You are only at the beginning, so many too soon, but something to think about. In the meantime....a touch of mascara works a treat! :) Mind the rain though..LOL

Even people that have geneticly alopecia can grow it with some DHT blockers herbs...good luck girly.Thanks for video🙏

      ForHisGlory734 how long are you growing your hair?

    • @ForHisGlory84
      @ForHisGlory84 6 років тому

      FlamingDragon245 I would love it to go to finger tip and then would cut it back to tailbone but right now it's a good 4 inches above my tailbone so it's going to be a while still. I started growing it from a bob haircut.

      ForHisGlory734 try growing it longer that would be cool

    I love your hair so much!! Currently my hair is barely past my shoulders,(Started at chin length, so...progress?) I really want it to grow down to the middle of my back. It feels like i have been stuck at this length for a while though, any tips?

      Not sure if you're still looking but here's what I do:
      -Use a wooden brush. Plastic brushes take out the natural oils of your hair while a wooden one will take only some and redistribute the rest.
      -Don't wash unless necessary i.e. when it becomes visible greasy.
      -Wash/rinse out after washing with cold water. This helps your hair remain strong and healthy by returning the layers on a hair strands back to being 'clamped down' instead of 'open' which happens when they are washed in hot water.
      -Put castor oil on your scalp and hair overnight once a week. it will help strengthen your current hair and keep your scalp healthy, which may allow for extra hair growth.

    Also dear, I have to put my hair in a bun every day because I'm In the military, is there a gel or hair spray you use that doesn't harm your hair?

    I’m 5 years mid back doesn’t your hair get plucked out easily now that it’s so long ? Do you lose a lot of hairs when you shower is it hard to take care of and comb?

    I have a v cut that is almost waist length, and am growing out an undercut and TWO almost bald alopecia spots. I figure I have about 5 years to hit my goal. My hair looks so much better since using sulfates and silicones again. My two bald spots are slowly coming back. My goal is TBL. But with it being curly, itll probably look shorter when dry haha.
    I also spent the last 2.5 years growing out a mohawk, and cut it into an even v cut last October

      Nataša Ivković If it gets grey enough to the point where my complexion looks dull, I would consider coloring it. Probably with a natural dye mixture of henna and indigo!

    • @LuisaH2022
      @LuisaH2022 6 років тому +2

      DIANA R plucking gray hairs is total old wives tale. It doesn't matter how much you pluck, you will still grow white hairs depending on your genetics. I don't know if plucking weakenes the hair roots, but I am sure traction alopecia exists. If you are worried about what people say about few white hairs try colouring it with henna instead of commercial acidic stuff hairdressers so love to promote.

    • @makeupandcoffee
      @makeupandcoffee  6 років тому +3

      I love it too! Always wanted to live with a slower pace of life and now I do. :) As far as plucking gray hairs, I don't see any harm in it if it's just a few. But they will come back! Best to just embrace it or maybe even dye it like Luisa mentioned.

    May 2017 I had hair that almost touched my butt. I got over 15 inches cut off. August 15, 2017 I shaved my head for my Mom who lost her hair to cancer treatment. Almost a year later mine's about 5 inches of growth. Her's in about 3 inches. I still cannot pull it back in a full pony with it all staying in. She's getting her's trimmed.
    Have you measured your hair length?

    (( Love your shirt )) You explaining the baby hair thing has saved me so much stress haha, I have the same baby hair situation that you do . Although I do think that the little hairs on the top of the head are at least partially from breakage and I'm only saying that from experience.
