Yes, as long as you pay attention to your ends, you can start trimming way less often than they recommend, the 6-12 weeks they recommend should be for damaged hair that is transitioning to thicker healthier hair while maintaining the same length
Following that old advice, my hair never went past my shoulders and I couldn’t figure out why until I stopped getting regular trims 🤦♀️ I used to think my hair just would not grow past that point!
i just found this channel the other day, and the trinity method had saved my hair honestly. thank you for being a true salon owner and hair care guru, and not plugging sponsored products. i just bought the fine hair bundle and olaplex 3 and a hair mask (olaplex and hair mask came from sephora because i believe you were sold out on your site). i don’t know the odds of you seeing this, but i really do thank you and i will continue to support you. as a small town NH girl, i literally feel like i know nothing about hair care, and every “pro” around has given me regina george advice for a quick $$. the world needs more stylists and salon owners and businessmen like you, and wonderful people on your team. i’ve always had severe damage, and every salon i’ve been to has said that there’s no hope for trying to fix my damaged hair other than to cut it, and following your methods with the products i have at home, my hair has never felt lighter or better. thank you for all of the hair advice you have given, and the inspiration for me to not give up on my hair
1. Don’t trim as much 2.rosemary doesn’t help 3. Length of the hair depends on health is the hair - strong ends will have the hair grow longer 4. Correct heat styling will grow your hair over air dried hair - straight sleek hair is better 5. Washing hair too much - thrice a week is a lot 6. Wash your hair every 3 days 7. Healthy ends = healthy mids= healthy roots= trinity routine A. Roots ~ shampoo conditioner and clean B.mids ~ lock moisturiser with leave in conditioner after towel drying hair- brush through the hair with detangler C.Ends~ after blow dry use hair oil - few drops in palm and apply only on ends to look polished . Very small amount on mids. - on other days as well.
The hair oil he uses in the video is more of a silicone-based product than an oil one. Some people like this but some prefer to stay away from silicones.
Hi from Australia! Chris and Leslie ❤️ I have followed so much of your advice and after 25 (.. okay over 30 😉) years of fighting and chopping my frizzy hair I finally have the locks I dreamed of. Thank you for you no BS approach and honesty ✨️🥰🥳
When I told my mom I was taking hair advice from a bald guy she was pretty skeptical, but everything you say makes sense and I’ve been seeing major changes in my hairs’ health since following your advice tysm!!
I have been using your advice last 4 months and my friends and family started noticing the difference, for first time in my life I am getting compliments about how great my hair looks and how fast it grows. That's priceless. Especially after years of suffering and not knowing what to do with it. Thank you so much.
I stopped my sister from trimming my hair thanks to Chris advice! She’s like you need a trim, your hair is finally growing🙎🏻♀️ I have been doing my healthy hair routine and applying no heat since December! Total game changer. 😄❤️
This is amazing because it's so hard to find actual good hair advice. I have always been self conscious of how frizzy and dry my hair has looked, but because of your videos, my hair is so much healthier! I am actually convinced that my hair looks good now!!! Thank you!
I used to “grow” my hair with trims every 6-8 wks and yep it didn’t “grow”. Until I skipped the trims and miraculously lol my hair was getting longer. Love your advice I am learning so much!!
CHRIS MANY THANKS. MY STYLIST INSISTS ON A TRIM EVERY 8 WKS, IM GROWING MY HAIR I'M USING #*JOICO ALSO R+CO. #* PLEASE RECOMMEND GOOD LEAVE IN COND/FRIZZ. LOVE TO YOU AND LESLIE. ❤️ ☘️ 🇮🇪
I have Waist length hair with so much breakage. I've been doing these steps along with the shampoo technique from a previous video and just wow. My hair has volume and body now - my mids are no longer a tangled mess when shampooing, and I'm noticing less breakage. Thank you so much for creating this content!
Love this no nonsense approach to getting healthy long hair, I’ve been doing everything he suggests for awhile now and my hair looks healthier and longer than most 20 something’s and I’m 51! I also do 2 scoops everyday of vital proteins collagen powder in my coffee, this has helped my hair grow faster. So wash your hair no more than 2x a week, use heat for styling only on wash days (if needed) apply hair oil exactly as he states and then leave your hair alone. This will work, just give it a little time.
At 52 my hair was at my breasts. Kept it trimmed every 3 to 4 months . It was perfect ..naturally blonde. . Now at 53 I have a long bob and am getting rid of unhealthy hair treating the condition and getting regular trimmed. But now doing the grey hair grow out ..9 weeks in;; hoping to feel better about my hair by April 25.
I like ur videos. I have super curly African American hair and i think all these tips from ur videos benefit my hair too…but the timelines are different (example….weekly washes not every 3 days)…can’t wait to watch more.
I've been following your Trinity routine for 6 months now and my hair looks its best ever and it's actually fun to do! My hair bounces around between chin- and shoulder-length because that suits me best - I'd love for you to do a styling (blowout and curling) tutorial for shorter hair.
I'm a Leslie, and I can say by following a video I seen of yours from 2 months back, it has helped me tremendously! I love the fact that my ends are sealing themselves, and are no longer split anymore. This has been the ONLY solution that has solved my split ends problem, THANK YOU, for letting us in on the secret to obtaining healthy beautiful hair!
My hair has improved by 300% since following your advice AND my hair has grown!! Yay!! Also, I used to take out a handful of hair fro my hairbrush every time. Now, I just get a few hairs come away. A night vs day difference! Love, love, love this channel! ❤
His advice is GAMECHANGING! My fine dry hair is in great shape now! My biggest changes: wash only every five days; dry by wrapping hair in old soft cotton tee shirt and let it soak up moisture without rubbing hair while I do my makeup; following his shampooing and styling advice…but since I began oiling the ends to mids every night with inexpensive (6.00) Hask Argan Oil before bed…WOW! After doing that for a few weeks my ends are beautiful! My dry hair soaks it up immediately and I wake up with nice smooth hair. Love this channel! I learn something new with every video he shares with us 🙌♥
@@lizzieb6311 nice! I hadn’t thought to put oil on my ends before bed. Is that his advice or just a great hack you found elsewhere? I ask because if he’s done a video with more detail, I’d love to see.
@@JanetUK 12:33 Using oil on the ends is the 3rd step he gives in this video. :) He’s mentioned this in other videos as well. But, he left out putting Olaplex No. 3 on your hair for 10 minutes before shampooing. I wonder why he left that out. 🧐
Please please please do a curly hair routine tutorial. Also, please include refresh method. I’ve started your recommendations for wash day, but I have no idea how to begin to refresh on day 2, 3, etc. what’s your recs?
Curly hair girl here, I was laughing when I read the routine (wash/condition/leave in) because that is what I do just to get my hair manageable. And have for years. I am adding the Olaplex oil on day 2 to my ends. I’ve been drying my hair near my scalp (flipped over) and letting the mid and ends naturally dry. I can go a week. Go slow on the oil because too much is too much. I don’t section my hair to dry because 1) I’m not straightening it and 2) I don’t want to separate my curls too much. I mostly cup my curls and dry. I do put two smaller claw clips on the top of my head so my hair doesn’t dry flat. And yes, I have accidentally gone to the store wearing them. His shampoo and conditioner recommendations have been good for my hair. Not too heavy. I am curly/ wavy when long. 2c when long 3a when shorter. I haven’t found a good gel or cream for definition that doesn’t leave it heavy and/or crunchy. I would love to see a curly video from Chris.
This is what happened to me just like Leslie described. My hairdresser told me to trim my hair every 6 weeks, which I did. And my hair got shorter as one of my friends commented that my hair was shorter than last time we saw each other. I had seen her 6+ weeks prior. I trim my hair once a year now.
As a licensed beautician for 45+ yrs, I just fell in ❤️w/you! My hair has always been long. It will always be long. I only cut it 1X yearly. I rarely use heat on it. I only use good product, properly! It’s so awesome to finally hear the voice of reason & common sense! Love you🧜🏼♀️
Yeaaaaa i kinda feel like if ur retaining length and u don’t see ur splits traveling up….grow ur hair….and cut it when ur ready to style at ur desired length. What i don’t agree with if ur hair is growing but breaking (becoming thin) u could need a trim.
@@mrod87yep. But that's why he is saying the problem isn't being addressed by trimming... It's just cutting away the unhealthy ends. Unless your routine changes, you will be back for another cut next month and the next and the next 😄
Yay! My hair stylist only trims mine once a year! She understands how important it is to get my length back. Lucky I found her as my FORMER "stylist" whacked my locks. Grrrr. But it's already past my bra line!!! Thank you Shannon! And Hair Guru!
I have straight long hair and I used to wash it every alternate day but now after following your advice I am able to go 3 days between washes. My hair is becoming healthy and I aim to grow my hair longer with your advice. I am learning a lot from your videos and I'm sharing it since your advice works.
I've been following a similar routine for over a year now, and it does make a big difference! Have stopped colouring it and only using a little heat for the last 6 months. My hair is very fine & I find I can't use much heat on it as it gets damaged easily. Just a warm blow dry/style when it's 80% dry, if i feel it needs it. My hair is down to my ribs and the healthiest & longest its ever been. I'm in my mid 30's 🦋
I've used rosemary oil in my scalp 2x a week for a year and it has given me very thick hair (like THICC) it's down to mid back now and in my 28 years of life it has never been this long no matter how badly I tried. It always plateoud at shoulder length. Rosemary made a big difference but diet also played a big role. And also following this guy's advice. You MUST keep your hair hydrated if you want to RETAIN length.
Love my hairdresser but this is exactly what she recommends LOL. I told her I want to grow it out and she wanted me coming in every 4 to 6 weeks, plus I have natural curl. I was going to stretch it out to 8 weeks but now I'll take your advice and wait longer!
Curly hair tangles more and gets single strand knots. See how your hair is at 2-3 months and see if you need a trim. 6 months might not be beneficial for your hair.
You can do “dustings” at home with a decent pair of shears. I have curly hair also and I haven’t gotten a cut by a professional since pre-Covid I am practicing, and will probably never see a hairdresser again!
I think waiting to trim every 6 months may be a bit much for some of us to achieve, particularly if you have Type 3/4 hair. I would trim every quarter and see how you get on. But if your ends are good then no need to trim that often either.
@@Aphrodite01 hi my daughter has curly soft hair, I use to trim her hair every3 month then I stopped its been one yr, but I will trim for her as she s having lots of bantu knots plua little bit dry ends.
Man, you are so passionate about hair! Yes, it is something we wear every day! I am passionate about hair too. Using your technique transformed my hair, and my 12 year old daughter’s hair. Thank you.
Thanks for the tips. I wash my hair every day for two reasons: 1. My scalp hurts to the point where my jaw and head hurt when I don’t wash every day. I know it’s odd but it’s real. 2. My scalp smells like sweat and my BF can’t stand the smell when he’s next to me (I live in south FL and the smell is regardless if I sweat or am indoors all day.) Do you have any advice or should I just keep doing what I’m doing? I have 2c curls. Stopped using heating tools over two years ago when I noticed the scalp pain and smell. Used anti fungal shampoo but it didn’t do anything. Started using your recommended Boston Products and Pureology Leave-in. Now that’s my daily wash routine.
Hey! I have a few clients that get pain like this... But only after their hair gets really dirty. Have you seen a dermatologists about it? I'd also try dry shampoo to see if that can get you to washing every other day 👍
I really appreciate you not trying to sell us anything. Just a straight to the point routine with basic products. I have friends with thick healthy hair who do just this, thanks for your honesty!
You gave me back hope when it comes to my hair (journey). And I enjoy taking care of my hair again. I bought all the products you recommend for fine hair and a curling iron I can adjust the heat of. Olaplex 3 weekly. You honestly deserve a Nobel price with the amount of women you’ve helped 🥳
I have super fine and thin hair. I use all your recommended products and it’s getting really healthy. I’ve asked my niece (she’s a stylist) to not put in layers because as I grow out my hair, the ends look really stringy. As it grown out and we keep 6mo trims, I’m excited for my future hair!
I’m with you when it comes to layers. I regret letting the stylist layer my hair last time. It looks terrible and stringy. Now I’m trying to grow it back out and get rid of the layers.
After using litteextra reactivate hair serum for a month, I can happily say it is effective. My hair seems fuller, and I am beginning to notice new growth. Additionally, it doesn't make my scalp oily, which is fantastic. I’m happy I checked out the suggestions here.
One of my friends shared with me the reactivate serum, so I have gone through two and a half bottles and I am noticing some new hair growth.. It does work.
Love these routines Chris! ❤ I was wondering if we could do a wavy/ curly hair routine with diffuser blowout? I’m new to this routine myself. I was using your blowout brush routine for the longest time (still do when I have plans/ go on vacation) but have been trying to “embrace” my waves more. I’ve noticed since following you, I’ve seen a nice increase in moisture & also realized my hair needs WAY more than I originally thought! Im fighting frizz & trying to “retrain” my wave pattern atm. I have a bunch of your videos saved & my closet is full of products you recommended 🥲 much love & thank you again!
I use Argan oil bending over and scrunching. Protective pineapple to sleep. Zero frizz and control curls with fingers to style. It's worked great like I left the style chair.
Your advice is just the best possible! It simplified my rutine and helped my hair look great and grow nicely! I have short hair so I would love to have a video from you in this subject. I apply almost everything you sau, aside from oiling hair because I find it hard not to touch the roots. Thank you again❤
@@Teresa-wq5nv thank you so much! I wjatced other videos and he said it’s not a good idea because it’s like you get your hair dirtier just to cleanse it afterwards. Thank you so much for your response
This is all fantastic and accurate information. I stumbled across a hair routine just like yours by accident back in 2021. I managed to grow out my hair by 8 inches in a year, and it’s overprocessed with highlights and a base color that’s 2 shades lighter than my natural color. I did have a couple of trims to get rid of the breakage, so now it’s 12 inches longer than when I started. I’ve been 6 months without a trim now, and my stylist showed me how you can still see the line of the last trim, I didn’t need one. My secret weapon turned out to be the Pureology Strength Cure Miracle Filler Spray. I used that as my leave-in and some oil at the ends (Lanza Keratin Healing Oil), and I used a heat protectant when blow-drying (Redken). I also chelated my hair once a month to keep the hard water mineral buildup away. I will try the Pureology Color Fanatic spray, I’ve heard good things about it. But their Strength Cure spray literally saved my hair and gave me the longest hair I’ve ever had in my life. The bar is set high now 😂
Love your videos! I'm 53 with my hair grown out to the middle of my shoulder blades. And, with this advice it will be down to my butt and healthy as ever in no time! It really is about the shine, bounce & strength.... AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT MY HAIR!!! 💪🥳👍
I love your videos. Because of your advice I've seen an improvement in my hair over the past couple months. I've gotten an inch of growth.. in my ends! And I haven't seen that much growth in my ends since I was pregnant.. 17 years ago. Thank you so much 💜
It's been 6 months since I found and incorporated your tips to my hair routine. I usually wear my hair natural, though lately I've been wanting to just blow out my hair and use a protective style. I love your channel! I'm currently using the Redken line, leave in spray & the extreme length 😅 (though you don't like it) this routine has been working for me I've seen my hair go past my shoulders to below my collar bone!! 😆❤️ I will add that since I'm a natural type 3c-4a, I need to deep condition bi-weekly & I do protein treatments monthly for the past damage to my ends 😅 Question: How do you feel about deep conditioning and protein treatments? How often would you recommend outside of the salon
Thank you for this video. The hair trimmimg advice and hearing how to use three products for each part of our hair is gold! Will remember this when using my hair products. 🥰
Just starting my "healthy hair routine" after stumbling across your channel and watching a few dozen of your vids in the past week. Can't wait to see if I get some length in the next few months. Thanks for the great info, that actually makes a lot of sense!
Couple points where I must disagree: 1. You CAN train your scalp and hair to stay clean for even a week without heat styling. If you absolutely need heat styling to make your hair look nice, then follow his advice regarding heat protectant and doing it as rarely as possible. But heat styling is NOT a must for going longer between washes. 2. Hair does not need or want "moisture" to be "locked in". Studies have shown that hair which the test group described as "healthy and moisturized" was actually the hair with least water content (and has low porosity). Which makes sense, because hair is not supposed to contain or hold water (note how dreadlocks can mold if they don't dry properly). Healthy hair feels smooth because the cuticles are closed and closed cuticles mean low porosity because they block out the water (and everything else) and protect the hair strand's core. 3. What hair product marketing SHOULD be saying instead of "moisturizing", "nourishing" and "hydrating" = conditioning = literally lubricating the hair. Shampoos are designed to clean the scalp and roots but basically any other product works by coating the hair strands in either a smooth residue (to make it feel smooth, healthy and conditioned and to prevent friction and tangles) or a protective residue (to block out moisture to prevent frizz and to hold your hairstyle, or a heat protectant which "takes the heat" and basically sacrifices itself to save your hair). 4. Once you understand the above, it's actually really easy to see that you don't need a million different products. You need something to get your scalp clean, something to keep your mids and ends friction & tangle free and something extra protective for your ends because they're the oldest part of the hair and been through a lot by the time they reach that point, plus when we brush our hair, the ends get the peak of the force. 5. Lastly, hair is at its weakest when wet so (unless your hair is curly) NEVER brush while it's wet, even to apply products in. Wait until it's dry, then add the products with your hands and fingercombing and then very gently brush it out. Adding products only on dry hair also helps to avoid overdoing it and ending up with too oily, wet-looking ends or mids. When your hair is wet, you don't see or feel how much product there is already. Wholeheartedly agree with these tips from the video: - As many days as possible between washes - Using shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner or de-tangling spray and oil for ends - Not trimming too often (only a micro-trim if you really see lots of split ends that would take too long to weed out one-by-one by yourself, OR a proper trim to straighten out the ends if they're super wispy and thin and look bad) - Avoiding heat as much as possible BONUS TIP which I found out while going through some hair research articles (not the ones on websites promoting their products/ingredients and not women's magazines or anything else commercial): Coconut oil was proven to be helpful, both as a pre-wash treatment and applied post-washing. Coconut oil is able to penetrate the hair shaft and in this case (unlike with water), it's actually doing some good in there. It makes the hair strand's core more flexible which makes it less prone to breakage that occurs when the hair is bent. You're welcome 😘
About to start with my hair growth journey.Type 4c/Afro hair. **2wks after I made the original comment ** I followed the advice on this video, the hair on the nape of my neck that's almost bald has grown an inch. I used to have rapid hair growth till about 2 years ago. Lots of hair breakage ensued & I must have done way to much trying to grow my hair back. Minimal products and styling obviously helps. Glad this advice helps all textures of hair
Thank you for the hair advise especially as I have thyroid problem so my hair takes much longer to grow and I loose lots of hair when combing or washing it, so I'm going to take your advise and follow it through I'm excited to grow out my hair longer especially as I read the comments from others here how incredible 😊✨️
I will say within the last 6 months of watching your videos my hair has very much improved! Mostly your videos made me realize I was using too many products that all basically did the same thing. Now that I’ve cut down on the product amount and have incorporated hair oil I’m seeing growth! And I’m chilling out on re doing my hair (I’m blonde so I usually bleach it every couple months.. I work at home so if I look crazy it doesn’t matter lmao) but having my roots shows me my growth and I’m just so happy haha thank you 🙏🏽
I have noticed less hair shedding since starting this routine, as well! I am not sure how, but since others are commenting the same thing it must be a thing. I’ll take it! ❤
I'm over 65 and have waist length hair that seems to be thinning more recently. I've learned so much on this channel in just the few videos I've watched and I can see a difference in my texture already. Thanks so much.
I can say, I grew my hair for over 6 months & when I went in for a root touch up, my (now old) stylist cut off an inch + claiming it needed to come off. I am now growing my hair back out. Next time, I refuse the scissors! I’m also only going to a curly specialist from now on for the same reason. They really thinned out my ends trying to “layer” it which damaged my curls 🥲
Chris, if you haven’t already (I haven’t seen it), can you please do a dedicated video on coarse hair? I love your content! Thank you for making these videos
Love your advices Chris!! My hair is looking so much better since I've followed your advice. Especially that the way I was washing my hair was wrong. Since I used your advice my hair is great. Thanks!!👍👍👍
Chris you are awesome. Real advice that we needed to hear. I too got off the bandwagon of regular trims every few months. Progress is so slow that way if you want to grow your hair. Like you said, good products and healthy routine is all you need in order for hair to grow naturally beautiful and faster.💕🇨🇦🇬🇧
Your channel has been a game changer for me, i started watching you in Dec/Jan and the way I have already seen so much improvement is crazy!! you are so amazing, i love how you explain everything and are so respectful to other hair care methods
@@selinawini4353 that I don’t know, what I do know for sure it is chemically treated meaning you would have to take extra care of your hair, 1-2x week washing, conditioner and leave in conditioner, etc still be sure to not neglect it just because it’s relaxed
I am thanking the algorithm gods for recommending your videos. It’s saved me money because I’m not buy a bunch of unnecessary products and my hair just keeps looking better and better. ❤
Finally someone that alignes with my way of styling my curly hair. Many now days suggest to go cutly but I've been straightening my hair since I'm 11 years old and going back to curly is not an easy ride cause my hair simply wont curl anymore. I also rather straight hair. So is always a blessing to find people that teaches how to take care of curly hair that has been going thought heat.
These people know what they are talking about. I stumbled upon this regime through trial and error and have been following it for a couple of years and it works. My three foot long hair is tangle free, strong and still growing. And I'm 50 years old.
Hellooo 👋.. I've been watching your advice for a couple of months and finally my hair is in the best condition it has ever been and it's growing! Thank you for your well informed unbiased advice :)
I have really short hair that I have dyed every 8 weeks since I was 28, I am now 59. I do allow my hair to rest twice a year where I wait 12 weeks to redye it. I went gray at 28 is why and gray hair or light hair makes me look like I am sick. Anyways, my hair is shiny, not dried out at all because I do use leave in conditioner and oils on my roots. I had a hair dresser tell me to do that back in the 80's and I have kept it up. She also told me if you use conditioner after washing don't stop rinsing until your hair no longer feels slippery. Her thing was Risne, Rinse and more rinse as she said most people do not get it all out, then hours or next day that have this limp hair. It works for me. I tried growing my hair out and for some reason, even as a female, if hair touches my ears or back of neck it drives me crazy. I would love to try to grow long hair but not sure I can stand it and does long hair look good on old people?
Ive been trying to grow my hair out for the past few years, and my mom always says, i need to get my hair trimmed more often, and that's the only way it will grow. Ive been trimming my hair once every 6 months if not more the past year, and I'm really happy that its growing. I went from having hair to my ears, from hair to my chest in a year which might not sound like much, but when u struggle to get good hair it makes you happy.
I trim my hair 3 times in a year - April (to prepare it for summer months), in September (to prepare it for autumn season) and in December (to be ready and healthy enough during winter months). The rest is just scalp care, proper masks, heat protectors during hair dry.
As a hairstylist myself, when I client asked me they wanted to grow their hair I never asked them to came back in 6 weeks that’s crazy! I always tell them to come back 4 to 6 months and as long as they have a good regimen at home, they will be fine. ( my co workers think I am crazy but I don’t care) I am trying ti grow my hair myself and my friend aka stylist cut what’s has grown twice, I’ll see see her over the summer if it happens again, I will have to move on to someone else 🤷🏻♀️ thank you for educating us ❤️🙏🏼
I seriously love this man, his advice is so honest and he is so passionate about hair. Love to see it ❤! I can't wait to get to work with all his tips to get my hair in optimum shape ❤❤ Thank you soo soo much for everything you do and all the info you share with us. It is sooo appreciated ❤!
I started trying to grow my hair out this fall. Mom insisted I still needed to get trims, but when we went to our stylist, she asked me if she could check it, ran a comb through the ends, and said she was fine with the plan since they were healthy. She’s also been great, picking up the products you recommend at the shop she goes to where she can get her discount and only charging me what she pays. HUGE help, as she can get a large bottle of the Redkin shampoo and conditioner (which she said good call on that) for less than I paid on the smaller bottles from Ulta.
I think your advice is really good - it's very logical, practical and bullshit-free for which I thank you so much. I can see that my hair routine was essentially good apart from the frequency of washes. As I am suffering from PCOS, my scalp (and not not only) gets oily really quickly. I guess it's because I have testosterone sensitivity. I switched from the drugstore shampoos and daily washing to the Redken shampoo you recommend and washing it every second day. It's been a 100% improvement to me (for which I am super grateful) but as you can see, I still don't make it to your standard (wash once every third day the shortest)... It makes me feel sad and very frustrated... I know it's a vicious circle - because I wash my hair so often, they are more fragile. They are super fine by nature which means that they get broken extremely fast. And it's since I remember 😢😢 so I have to trim them every 6-12 weeks to mask the breakage as you said in the video. I so wish I didn't have to because hair is my weak point and the source of complexes since I was little. But it seems that nothing is going to help me :( now I feel I've tried it all your advice included (I follow your advice religiously). Probably because of PCOS, I will always have to wash then every second day the latest and will always have to trim every 6-12 weeks and end up with short hair... I'm sorry for this rant, I just really feel heartbroken now and needed to vent about my situation. Anyway, I truthfully thank you for the good work you're doing, you managed to help millions of people 😊 I appreciate your honesty and great experience
Yasss! I trim my hair every 6 months and I had to fight to convince my stylist who wanted to cut every couple of months! Of course now she hates me as it takes forever to do and she can barely reach to get the rollers in but that is a good problem to have in my opinion!
The trinity plan works. I am so glad I found Chris's channel. The advice that I have gotten from many stylists has ruined my hair. First bleaching highlights destroying my hair, then suggested extensions for more volume. My hair was not getting longer but shorter. You can only imagine the damage to my hair and how much I was paying to destroy it. The lockdowns from the virus - made me realize that I did not need to ruin my hair anymore. I started just leaving it alone only adding toner to take away the harsh color line I had. Since I started photographing my progress my hair is just slightly past my shoulders. When I started my hair was just below my ears. I started in 2020 so it has taken awhile for it to heal.
I followed his advice, started using his recommended products, and now my hair is so long to the point that friends thought I had gotten hair extensions!
Do you have any tips for managing bangs? Thanks to your advice I finally manage to wash my hair every three days, but for my bangs I still end up washing and styling them everyday. A video on that would be helpful. Thank you!
OMG think I'm gonna cry, for YEARS and YEARS I've been saying "Why is my hair growing so damn fast on the root but not in length.......? It doesn't make sense?" People said that's just your natural hair length!!!!! Thank You Chris for making me feel like I'm not crazy, my hair grows SO fast I have to get my roots done every 4 weeks!!!!! But it NEVER grows. I have just bought all the products you've suggested and I am SO excited you have NO idea. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, FINGERS CROSS 🤞🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am binge-watching your videos. And you are hilarious and offer healthy hair/product advice. I wore a short silk press, which was fried and frizzy until I used a blow-dry cream. Now my hair looks shiny and healthy. God bless you. 😂👍🙏
I couldn't grow my hair past my shoulders until Covid lockdowns! I spent pretty much a year in lockdown (I lived in the most lockdown city in the world!) and surprise, surprise my hair grew!
My sister in law is my hair stylist and she is amazing. Constantly taking classes and workshops and I trust no one else with my hair. I am also trying to grow my hair out and as I’ve gotten older, it doesn’t seem to grow as fast. 2 years ago I asked for a trim (not my SIL) and he took all my hair off. It hasn’t grown past my shoulders since! I just recently went lighter and got a trim and went back for a gloss 7 weeks later and she asked do you want a cut too? Before I could answer she said wait we are tying to grow your hair out, right? So we def will wait until late summer at least. Hearing you say don’t cut for 6 months that makes me so happy to hear. It just proves she is listening and knows what I want (I never had a doubt but nice to hear nonetheless) The one thing I need to do is use less heat. It’s so hard bc my hair never seems to stay the next day. Trying to figure out how to fix it.
What would be your tips for guys and girls that workout like 5 or 6 times a week to keep the hair from getting too dry from washing it so often? Love the content
I workout 5-6 days a week and I still only wash my hair once a week. Use dry shampoo if you need to. If I need to rinse my hair only, I still apply my normal conditioner, leave in conditioner and hair oil.
If I have to clean my scalp more than every 7 days, I oil my mid and ends before washing. Let the shampoo run through your hair during rinse but don't lather. Lose protective style during workout or yard work helps.
FINALLY another stylist who advocates less trimming if you're growing your hair out! 😂 I sometimes feel so alone in my advice.
I like your thinking 👍👍
Yes, as long as you pay attention to your ends, you can start trimming way less often than they recommend, the 6-12 weeks they recommend should be for damaged hair that is transitioning to thicker healthier hair while maintaining the same length
I totally agree! Less trimming and pay attention to the scalp health and strands 💕
I only trim once a year. I take care of my ends and my hairstylist complements my hair health
1. Don’t trim as much
2.rosemary doesn’t help
3. Length of the hair depends on health is the hair - strong ends will have the hair grow longer
4. Correct heat styling will grow your hair over air dried hair - straight sleek hair is better
5. Washing hair too much - thrice a week is a lot
6. Wash your hair every 3 days
7. Healthy ends = healthy mids= healthy roots= trinity routine
A. Roots ~ shampoo conditioner and clean
B.mids ~ lock moisturiser with leave in conditioner after towel drying hair- brush through the hair with detangler
C.Ends~ after blow dry use hair oil - few drops in palm and apply only on ends to look polished . Very small amount on mids. - on other days as well.
Thanks 😌
I think point 6. was allow three days between touching up with heat styling.
The hair oil he uses in the video is more of a silicone-based product than an oil one. Some people like this but some prefer to stay away from silicones.
i thought we weren’t supposed to towel dry our hair?
Thank you🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi from Australia!
Chris and Leslie ❤️ I have followed so much of your advice and after 25 (.. okay over 30 😉) years of fighting and chopping my frizzy hair I finally have the locks I dreamed of. Thank you for you no BS approach and honesty ✨️🥰🥳
Anna that's amazing! Happy we could help out a little bit. Sending Leslie a screen shot of your comment 🙏 but I’ve got Michael one too many times

This has got to be the best video on growing long hair. No BS, just straight up real advise. Love it! 💯
‘Trimming hair…’ I knew it! I felt like that advice that was bogus for years! 😮😂 Thank you for being the first honest hair professional I’ve heard! :)
I thought so too, women in the 1800s and 1900s never trimmed it. It's just a way to get women back in the salon
Your roots have no idea if your ends are being trimmed. :)
Like, if your hair needs to be trimmed so often you are doing something wrong

That trimming lie has been perpetrated by some of the best capitalists in the world!
I have Waist length hair with so much breakage. I've been doing these steps along with the shampoo technique from a previous video and just wow. My hair has volume and body now - my mids are no longer a tangled mess when shampooing, and I'm noticing less breakage. Thank you so much for creating this content!
How long before you saw results?
What products do you use
What happened yo thr breakage you already had
Love this no nonsense approach to getting healthy long hair, I’ve been doing everything he suggests for awhile now and my hair looks healthier and longer than most 20 something’s and I’m 51! I also do 2 scoops everyday of vital proteins collagen powder in my coffee, this has helped my hair grow faster.
So wash your hair no more than 2x a week, use heat for styling only on wash days (if needed) apply hair oil exactly as he states and then leave your hair alone. This will work, just give it a little time.
I’m taking that same collagen and my nails are the longest they’ve ever been. No breaking. Can’t believe it!
Yeah me too.
Im so glad I found this channel.❤
Same!

12:33 Using oil on the ends is the 3rd step he gives in this video. :)
He’s mentioned this in other videos as well.
Leslie’s hair is gorgeous! Hair goals for sure!

Thank you, your advise is a relief and a treasure.
Appreciate you Amber! Glad I could help out a bit 🙏🙏
This is making so much sense, I love the whole clean your room and hide things analogy.
Pls may I know which brand rosemary oil ?

Love my hairdresser but this is exactly what she recommends LOL. I told her I want to grow it out and she wanted me coming in every 4 to 6 weeks, plus I have natural curl. I was going to stretch it out to 8 weeks but now I'll take your advice and wait longer!
Curly hair tangles more and gets single strand knots. See how your hair is at 2-3 months and see if you need a trim. 6 months might not be beneficial for your hair.
I’m excited that I’m getting my hair cut this month(March) The last time I cut my hair was Aug 2022 - 7 months ago. His advice is so worth it ❤️
You can do “dustings” at home with a decent pair of shears.

I've seen dozens of your videos but never knew Leslie's dramatic transformation! GOALS!!! 😍
Your channel is the best thing that ever happened to my hair. Can’t thank you enough ❤
I'd also try dry shampoo to see if that can get you to washing every other day 👍
I started following your trinity and product recs several months ago and have seen such a difference. My hair looks awesome.
I really appreciate you not trying to sell us anything. Just a straight to the point routine with basic products. I have friends with thick healthy hair who do just this, thanks for your honesty!
It always feels like genuine recommendations versus pushing products. Its the same ones every video (which I say as a positive)
After 61 years I can honestly say I agree 💯%. Thank you for your caring & sharing great presence also loved your T-shirt.
Chris, thank you so much for your advice. I am seeing my hair transform over the past for five months I’ve been listening to your videos.
Like someone mentioned here to use Reactivate Hair Growth Serum, I began using it. I've gone through 3 bottles and I'm noticing new hair growth.
Cocooniion Anti-Hair Fall Kit + using Reactivatee Serum has helped control hair fall, and I’m witnessing new hair growth growing
Any update?❤️
Love Leslie’s hair
Your advice is just the best possible! It simplified my rutine and helped my hair look great and grow nicely! I have short hair so I would love to have a video from you in this subject. Maybe do a good oil end soak right before your shampoo? These are just guidelines. Good luck and HAPPY HAIR! 👋🥸👍
The bar is set high now 😂
Where are you from?

It's been 6 months since I found and incorporated your tips to my hair routine.
I usually wear my hair natural, though lately I've been wanting to just blow out my hair and use a protective style. I love your channel!
I'm currently using the Redken line, leave in spray & the extreme length 😅 (though you don't like it) this routine has been working for me I've seen my hair go past my shoulders to below my collar bone!! 😆❤️
I will add that since I'm a natural type 3c-4a, I need to deep condition bi-weekly & I do protein treatments monthly for the past damage to my ends 😅
Question:
How do you feel about deep conditioning and protein treatments?
How often would you recommend outside of the salon
Great advice as always. I can see the grow out! Chris and Leslie are hysterical!
Couple points where I must disagree:
Wholeheartedly agree with these tips from the video:
- As many days as possible between washes
- Using shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner or de-tangling spray and oil for ends
- Not trimming too often (only a micro-trim if you really see lots of split ends that would take too long to weed out one-by-one by yourself, OR a proper trim to straighten out the ends if they're super wispy and thin and look bad)
- Avoiding heat as much as possible
BONUS TIP which I found out while going through some hair research articles (not the ones on websites promoting their products/ingredients and not women's magazines or anything else commercial): Coconut oil was proven to be helpful, both as a pre-wash treatment and applied post-washing. Coconut oil is able to penetrate the hair shaft and in this case (unlike with water), it's actually doing some good in there. It makes the hair strand's core more flexible which makes it less prone to breakage that occurs when the hair is bent.
You're welcome 😘

**2wks after I made the original comment **
I followed the advice on this video, the hair on the nape of my neck that's almost bald has grown an inch.
I used to have rapid hair growth till about 2 years ago. Lots of hair breakage ensued & I must have done way to much trying to grow my hair back. Minimal products and styling obviously helps. Glad this advice helps all textures of hair
Chris & Leslie’s chemistry is so adorable!
I work at home so if I look crazy it doesn’t matter lmao) but having my roots shows me my growth and I’m just so happy haha thank you 🙏🏽
Can you tell me which shampoo do u use

I trim every 3-4 months and my stylist always tells me I need to do it every 3 to 4 weeks . Uiummmm no thanks just do my color please
Efficient and straight to point advice. Excellent content. Well done 🎉
The rest is just scalp care, proper masks, heat protectors during hair dry.
love this
Love your vids. My hair has improved since following your advice. Would you consider ditching the background music?
I can't wait to get to work with all his tips to get my hair in optimum shape ❤❤
Thank you soo soo much for everything you do and all the info you share with us.
Great tips👌thanks so much for sharing 🌸🌸
Wow. I’m sharing this video with my daughters. Thank you so much!!
🙏 Please do a video about the actual ingredients we should/shouldn't be using on our hair! ❤❤❤
Do you have any tips for managing bangs? Thanks to your advice I finally manage to wash my hair every three days, but for my bangs I still end up washing and styling them everyday. A video on that would be helpful.
Thank you!
yes please someone tell me the secret to not having to wash my bangs before my next hair wash day.
Hair god... love all the informations. Please guide for curly hair too if needs to be done anything different . :)
Updates? 😁
I am binge-watching your videos. And you are hilarious and offer healthy hair/product advice. I wore a short silk press, which was fried and frizzy until I used a blow-dry cream. Now my hair looks shiny and healthy. God bless you. 😂👍🙏
Okay now I am on the mission 😂 I had my hair trimmed 3 weeks ago, so now I'll use your advices and hopefully see the results by the end of this year 🙈
I've learned so much through this video! Been interested in healthy hair for a while now and these tips are GOLD! Thanks a lot!
Yes I would love to hear more on this! I get so sweaty there's just no way I can go to the gym and not wash my hair after
Have you seen the video he already did about haircare for people who do sweaty workouts?
@@username00009 he has one? Thanks ill check it out!
