Hi Britt! Your hair is so long and beautiful 😊 The salves sound amazing. I love torrinpaige, that idea with the t-shirt makes so much sense haha. I always would fold the ends over and around the top of my head but sometimes my ends fall and smack me in the face 😂 thanks for updating us on your long hair journey 😙
Please keep doing these hair updates Britt! it's inspiring my hair journey is starting over again due to bleach damage or it would be at your length right now
Yay! Finally an update, I am so happy to see this :D You are almost at 5 years WOW! Seeing your length gives me so much reassurance to keep growing. I love that we started this journey indirectly but around the same time it's so cool to have a hair buddy ( not saying I don't have other hair buddies but you are the farthest in this journey besides me ) so having your support and you making videos is super helpful! Okay, so here are my thoughts; I really appreciate your honest view on the products and your honest reviews that is very helpful. Secondly, that double t shirt is excellent b/c I have the same problem with the ends dripping when I shower. I am going to ask my mom to sew me a double shirt b/c she has a sewing machine woot! Finding two shirts to sacrifice is going to be an issue I love all my older shirts :( Lastly, I love that your videos are just you talking...I am so sick of everyone having to throw in sound effects, noises, background noise ( a bit is good at times) but seriously...I love the old school just plain vidz! The DIY haircut was a great idea and I could tell as you were explaining the hair dresser semi circles it was going no where beneficial for you. I know about the slippy feeling that's why I can't keep my hair in an indian bun at times it slips out. Does your hair get hot when you leave it down? Mines is too much in this heat but in the winter it feels nice :D Thanks for your videos hope you upload soon! Cheers.
My hair bestie - hello! I concur with the appreciation of a having a fellow hair journeyer. :) I also like that we have some differing methods, but all roads are leading to Rome. It's fun to see what things you are up to with your hair life. I actually conscripted Tom into not only sewing the thing, but also donating two undershirts to the process. Despite the fact that they were about 10 years old I estimate, and definitely not white anymore, he was still pretty sad to see them go. Must be the softness - but in your case your hair will appreciate it just as much as you I bet! Man I cannot imagine doing sound effects or anything like that haha. I'm definitely no pewdiepie so I'm not touching that with a 10ft pole. Old school all the way and throw in some clips of what I'm talking about to keep it interesting- that's my approach anyway. My hair doesn't get too too hot, but I think your mane is another level of thickness altogether. That and your mistrust of central air combined - I imagine summer is a different ball game for you. ;) So happy that you stopped by!
Oh my lord I have been trying to grow out my hair an today I did my wash I do skip washes I wash my hair every Monday wendsday and Friday I have tried to do scalp massages normally every week on Mondays I just started last week but I am super excited to watch all your hair videos today.!!
Hey - just wanted to address a comment you made in a prior video about comparing your hair texture to others on Instagram and feeling disappointed, but your hair is beautiful and fine, silky hair is as much a look as thick hair...so rock it! It looks spectacular!
Oh my goodness Lynn - can you believe that I found my first grey last week? I had already filmed this video at that time, but I'm definitely putting that little tidbit in the next one. I thought I was ready for a few greys (premature greying runs in my family) but now that it's a reality...quarter life crisis mode haha. Do you use box dyes or something else? And yes, that conditioner is a lifesaver. Of course you would get a shoutout - gotta give credit where credit is due! :)
That's when I started noticing my first gray hair. I go to a hair dresser. I don't mess with my hair with color---I trust my professionals. It took me many years to find the right hair dresser, but I"m forever grateful. I did start with demi permanent color first, because my gray wasn't too bad--I was able to color every 2 yrs. Then it became every year and so forth. Now, as I near a half a century, I can try to stretch to 6 weeks, but eeks! My gray loves to sprout ;) hahahhaha. So, don't panic--I didn't start coloring the gray until 30 :) And I also had to color as my hair had gotten very sun damaged from being outdoors.
It was pretty bad. Since I was teaching and riding 3 horses a day, I just wasn't really aware of the damage until I saw some photos. I'd also had some scalp issues due to stress, so I did start to pamper my hair more. The best part of any demi permanent color is it's gentler on the hair and washes out over time. It's also less drying than a permanent color. Rule of thumb is most hair dressers will use semi or demi permanent color until you are about 50% gray, then they will suggest permanent. In regards to sun damage, I couldn't believe that, despite braiding hair and using a UV sunblock, it discolored my hair to a reddish color. It would go back to dark over time, but I could feel the damage. I then embarked on my long hair journey and found LHC :D
Your hair is amazing! I used to be on LHC all the time when my hair was my natural color... I chopped from waist to BSL when I started coloring and I have just been at BSL for over 3 years now. I don't like stretching washes either (my texture is fine and straight and I noticed people with thick, coarse, wavy/curly hair tend to have better luck with stretching washes).
I think you're right that texture has a lot to do with it. I can go from zero to gulf oil spill in no time flat! Your hair color is to die for - you are rocking that shade in your icon pic! Love it.
awww thank you! It fades out completely in two weeks and I constantly have to refresh it... I'm the same way, but my hair air dries super fast so it makes up a little for having to wash it so often ; )
I want to trim my own hair because every time I would go to the salon they would cut off more than I asked. Where did u get that creaclip dupe? I'd like to get one
Got mine on the ol' Amazon. I just looked it up - they don't have the same brand anymore but I'm sure any of the ones they have would work fine. Those stylists need to calm it down with the "trims" sometimes lol.
Britt! your hair looks amazing! I'm still trying to grow my hair as well -_- lol. I can tell it's growing but I need patience haha (the hardest part!).
Hey - it's my romance novel buddy! After answering these comments, I'm about to dive back into my current Sookie Stackhouse read. :) Patience is definitely the struggle. You always want to do things to help it along - doing nothing just seems unnatural!
ohh sookie stackhouse! I used to be obsessed with the show True Blood back in the day…(before it went down hill haha). Are you enjoying the series? I own the first three books but have yet to pick one up -_-. I've been eyeing the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews next. I hear she's this kick but female character which is my jam!
Oh no - the show went downhill!? I'm afraid to watch until I work my way through the series. Gotta let my imagination do the work and not get locked into thinking of the characters as their actors y'know. I love a kick butt lady as well! You know heads are gonna roll when she's on the cover by herself with an enchanted weapon. :D
+coffee&makeup well, I think it's just one of those things lol. You enjoy it at first...like way too much and then you're confused as to why they're doing different things lol.from what I hear though, the show is different from the books, like it might be darker? Not sure. I still plan on reading the books though, probably soon now!
Hi Britt! I missed you! Wow your hair is an inspiration for me... My hair growth is so slow! No matter what I do or don't do! Anyway... I tried washing my hair every other day too, but after 2 months, I don't think I can take it any longer! My hair gets too oily for that! lol I admire you for keep trying! I'm still looking forward for the Q&A video! hahahaha Hope to see it soon enough! Keep up the good work! XOXO
So good to see you Sam! I missed you too. Can you believe I filmed this video two whole weeks ago and couldn't get around to editing until this weekend. What is my life? Of course you couldn't let me get away without doing that Q&A! It will be up soon - I'm going to re-film it. I really cannot deal with the every other day washes. My scalp looked ridiculous, and it was itchy and flaky to boot! I'm just gonna keep doing what works - oils and washes all day every day. ;)
I agree! My hair is tailbone length and has been long most of my life. Hairdressers are out! I've not been to one for 20 years or more. I trim my own hair.
Agnes Smith How do u trim ur own hair to make it straight .. plz help me I want to learn how to trim my own hair because i am scared hair dresssers might chop it all off .. plz help mee
My hair looks exactly like yours! Same (looks like) texture ,color and length. I am also VERY afraid of getting it trimmed for the reasons you mentioned; tearing threw it when wet, etc. I am finally forcing myself to go next week, and now I'm a bit more worried after watching your video because I am quite short at only 5'1" and a smidge (lol) and don't know how the heck the hair dresser is going to do it even with me standing up, hahaha. This will be fun. I always feel like they are muttering under their breath when I go how much they would rather not being doing a trim on a long hair. Oh, and on top of it I am (just turned 51) so they may also be thinking "what the hell is she doing with such long hair?". But ya know what? I DON'T care , it's my hair, right? I'm just nervous about the tearing through it part and making sure not too much is cut off. I don't have enough guts to do it myself.
51. Annd you haven't given up, stopped enjoying it and just decided to "act your age" and forget all the "trouble" long hair is? GOOD FOR YOU! I'm 72. My wife is 68. She'd rather give in to time but i ask her not to and she loves me and let's me continue to enjoy her beautiful hair. She's extremely petite but her hair is (though half as long) much like Brit's as well. I have colored and trimmed hers forever. From behind walking along, she looks like a kid:) A question for you and I'll go. Do you shampoo, condition and then let the water streaming, through the conditioner in your hair help comb it out as you use a wide tooth comb. Lois' stopped fighting "the combout" completely when she began doing it all in the shower. Good luck. keep up the fight. It's worth it.
What a lovely post! So , so sweet of you to enjoy your wife the way you do! I don't use a comb in the shower because I fear that being wet will make my very fine hair even more susceptible to breakage. What I do: I gently brush and detangle from the bottom up before I shower then I coat the hair from about just below the nape of my neck with conditioner and then with conditioner still in hair, shampoo just the scalp. The conditioner helps protect the rest of the hair from being stripped by the shampoo, if that makes sense. It does still get clean though. I gently use my fingers to detangle in the shower, by pulling the clumped strands apart. VERY gently though. After I've rinsed everything out , I put more conditioner in again from the nape down because there can be breakage in that area too of course, not just the ends and again gently use my fingers to pull clumped strands apart. I end with a cool thorough rinse. P.S. No, I haven't given up the fight :) I truly believe everyone should wear their hair the way they want, even if it's a mohawk, lol.
Good for you! I'm 56 and mine is below my tush. Everyone keeps asking when I'm going to get mine cut. lol After lifelong lupus and chemo drugs for years? Never!!! I'm just glad I can still grow hair! I am going to have to start taking better care of it though, as It is getting thinner and I have some breakage. Besides, I am unwilling to pay $65.00 just for a haircut.
Awesome Nicci!! I love reading posts like this. I hope you are doing better with your struggles with lupus and chemo! I always wonder why people are so inclined and driven to ask when we long haired people are going to cut. Why? Do we ask them when they are going to grow? It's just silly. I am with you with the price of haircuts although I would NEVER pay 65 dollars. I get my hair trimmed once or twice a year and for only $7.99, lol. Good luck and keep growing! :)
Couple thoughts for what they may be worth... Been caring for my wife's hair for a long long time. Venture to say it's texture and thickness are quite similar to yours if you can believe it. Started using esalon color 4-5 years ago, after a long time with Loreal Preference. esalon is very consistent. That said, I'd send a picture but she'd kill me for even being here. Widu Italian, wood (bristle) brush is used as she falls asleep most every night. Seldom take any hairs out of the brush. Seriously. Also her fine hair with conditioner in it is combed out in the shower with the water doing all the work. Wide tooth comb. GENTLY, bottom working up of course. Her hair is a gift. Beautiful hair is a gift. You both share. good for you. Lucky us.
Do you find the widu brush lasts you a pretty long time? They're a little more than I'd normally drop on a brush, but I have been curious about wood bristles. Never used one before!
I know what you mean about the hair dresser being hard on your hair. I quit going. My husband trimmed mine last time. Recently I got a creaclip that I'll be trying too.
Very helpful, liked finding out about the long hair community online. Do the people on there have any links they might know for an extra long microfiber hair turban? Love them niw but like you, what happens once the length arrives? Maybe one of us will have to get these cpmpanies to make an XL one for us long haired beauties. Your boyfriend seems to be talented in the sewing dept. A keeper.
I soooo understand you when it comes to hair salons. I use to have a steady hair lady and she left so ever since then i stopped going to the salon and my hair is like your thin and super long it below my shorts..i dont even trust them for a trim or a blow out..
I feel you - there is nothing more devastating than losing your hair lady. You should make a video about your haircare - I want to see this below the shorts hair!!
I forgot to ask if you got your hair washed at the salon when you went or if you washed it yourself beforehand. I never let them wash my hair at a salon anymore since it is as long as it is. It would be even more of a tangled mess when they are done because of it bunching up in the sink causing more ripping through the hair to get knots out afterwards. I wash and detangle my hair myself before I go.
+coffee&makeup oh golly mines a big answer to that haha! You are correct, I was rooughly at bra strap length. But I've been on accutane for about almost 4 years now on and off which has taken a huge toll on the integrity of my hair, specifically my length. As well as dying it from such a young age before I knew all I know about caring for hair these days in order to have it long! So 3 days ago, though it hurt my heart a lot I cut it in to a short bob, BUT WAIT haha, it's not because I'm not wanting long hair anymore, definitely not! My plan is to try and go back to my natural blonde which is around a level 7/8 ashy blonde (currently a blue black... Eeeeek!). Even though it sounds like a one step forward two steps backs process, it's in a way helping me get two steps forward. Despite having to get it light which I know will be horrible for my poor hair, once I get it there (in which if there is any more deadness I'd cut it off too) I'll be able to then start growing it fresh without
+Scarlet-Wisteria Vine about 5 years worth of old hair dye and medication damage in it! It was a sad process but at the same time I'm quite happy because I know inevitably this will be a good idea for me, even though it's set me back, I have faith it's the right desicion! :)!
I believe it was the right decision too! And bobs are SUPER FUN. I maintained at bob length for a year or so, and I loved that length! It's the perfect short hairstyle if you ask me. It's all about the journey, so I think you've got your head on straight about it. You've got your plan, and now you get to try on all the fun lengths and colors in between. :D
+coffee&makeup well despite the fact that I miss the length I may as well enjoy the shortness whilst I try get back to blonde carefully haha! It drys a whole lot quicker 😂 I also joined the longhair community online the other day so will have to investigate that one!
I mix & match my shampoo & conditioner. I buy a shampoo for oily hair (because my roots are oily) and I buy a conditioner for dry, damaged hair even though my hair isn't damaged. Those are the *most* moisturizing conditioners you can get!
Well if it isn't my wise hair fairy! ;) Great to see you again! I'm curious what made you decide to maintain at classic. For me, despite the ridiculous amount of detangling work, I always feel like I want to get on to the next goal. So smart to buy oily shampoo and dry conditioner. I too have oil slick roots and bone dry ends to boot! I should start playing the system too...
LOL! :D Thank you. :) I have no bad effects from mixing & matching my shampoos / conditioners, just thought I'd mention that. Classic is a length that is the most comfy for me. Shorter and I can't do updos very well with my iii hair, and longer and wash days become a horror! So it's a nice in-between!
Really! Try using conditioner in the hair, most in the ends, as the water helps with a wide tooth comb working from the ends towards your scalp. (Starting at the bottom and working toward the top.as my wife does. her twin? Comes downstairs fights the wet tangle atop her cranium and I have to leave the room...
I have butt length hair, it's normal, trust me, when it gets to that length, it's hard for the oils to travel that far, and even brushing won't solve that - besides I don't brush I have wavy, almost curly hair, you *never* dry brush that!
I've always had short thin hair that grows really slowly but I've noticed that after using your tips it's slowly speeding up and I'm sooooo happy because I really want long hair! Can you do an updated night or morning routine?? Also this is really long but I love your videos ☺️😀💙
i am trying to grow out healthier hair so i decided to skip washing my hair regularly. But my hair appears really oily and sticked together do you have any tips and tricks for me? love you brit
use dry shampoo. no need to spend tons of money on ones that don't even work, though. just use the good old natural corn starch powder + eventually add some cocoa powder in the mix, in case youre a brunette. many girls swear by this. i havent washed hair in a week and my hair looks brilliant, even better than when i wash it because this thing adds a shitload of volume! watch "homemade dry shampoo" videos, lifesaver. good luck
For dry ends I really reccomend using 2 parts carrier oil of your choice and 1 part castor oil. I put it from root to tip and it really makes the hair smooth and you will notice less hair fall trust me.
Sounds like a great concoction to me! I need to pick up some Castor oil. My mom used to have some lying around because she used it to wash her face (oil cleansing method). Haven't used it since I moved out though. Thanks for the recommendation!
Your hair looks stunning! It looks very shiny and healthy. I'm trying to grow out my hair as well, but it's quite hard to keep the ends healthy as I bleached my hair in the past, and the ends split so easily now :( Please make a video about how you trimmed your hair, I would love to see how you did that :) Another video suggestion: an update on the podcasts you're listening to. I am relatively new to podcasts, and I loved your 2014 podcast video!
Hi again! I'm so glad you liked the podcast video and of course I can do another. I have fallen into a guilty pleasure of true crime podcasts recently, even though they sometimes give me nightmares... Idk why I do this to myself. Anyhow, have you tried the search and destroy method? Just snipping a split whenever you see it. I've heard that works for some. Though I didn't win the genetic lottery with thickness, I did inherit hair that is absolutely impenetrable to splitting. So I don't have much knowledge on the subject! But boy do I ever get tangles from past bleaching. And my hair feels kinda sqeaky when I run my fingers down those areas. Oh well - live and learn right?
The search and destroy method doesn't really work for me, I've got way too many split ends. In the end, I need to chop the bleached parts off, but I want to wait as long as possible doing that :) Bleaching is just so bad for your hair, live and learn indeed!
could you do your hair care routine? like a full video of what products you use how you apply them after washing your hair, what you do with it to let it dry and what you do after its dry? I'm about to donate my hair and want to kind of start over after that to regrow some awesome healthy hair to donate again
yes please make a video how you trim your hair and how many times you trim it throughout the year ? Your tips really work ,I love all your videos, please keep making hair videos.
I'm so happy the tips work for you! I will make that trim video. I trim it only once a year - used to do twice but I felt like I didn't really need it that often.
Could you please go to a Target or a drugstore and show all shampoos, conditioners, or any other hair care products that they have and review them? There are so many options out there and I don't know if they worth buying. I was wondering if you could help. Thank you!
Definitely frequent oil treatments and a moisturizing conditioner. My best advice for fellow thin hairs though is just to be super gentle with their hair. Try to avoid dyes, damaging styles like high ponytails, and try to detangle really gently with a wide tooth comb. Since our hairs are fewer and far between, we need to be gentle and keep as many as possible.
I’m almost grown out to my ribs but I’m bad about getting my ends cut off cause I hate to grow it long and having bad ends I am so glad I have a hair stylist as a sister in law she cuts just an inch every three months
Yay, I love your hair updates :). Concerning your washes: if I were you, I would just do what feels most comfortable. If that includes washing your hair every day/every other day, it should be fine. Since you also oil your hair and care for it. To me it would just be too annoying to let it dry all the time, so I only wash twice/week. Have you ever tried the The Body Shop banana shampoo/conditioner? I'm offcially at hip length now (goal: tailbone length, so still 3-4 inches to go) and I keep getting compliments for hair styles and whenever i wear it down. Wearing it down, however, has become a bit difficult because I have 2a/M/ii+ and it becomes superduper warm below that mane :D, also, due to its wavy texture, my hair likes to tangle, so wearing down equals constant brushing/combing. I really hope that I'll reach tailbone by the end of the year since I'll go to a hair dresser in early 2017 (after I finished my master thesis/graduated) and I want her to cut the annoying tangly ends :)
Hiii! How are things in Germany? I'm going to be heading over to Stuttgart sometime soon to visit my friends who live there. I'm pretty excited. :) I have tried one body shop shampoo and conditioner set a long time ago - rainforest something. It smelled wonderful if I recall. But never the banana - do you recommend it? Congrats on HIP LENGTH yesss! Now on to TLB! I'm so glad your journey is coming along so nicely. That is the trouble with you wavies I hear - tangles and feeling like you're wearing a nice warm scarf all year round. ;) I really envy the volume of your hairtype though! Guess it's always a give and take. Good luck with that thesis! I bet it will be fantastic, and the haircut at the end is definitely a good motivator.
Aw great, I've heard Stuttgart is a nice city surrounded by wine hills - I've never been there, tho, I'm living up in the North, close to Hamburg :). ENJOY YOUR TRIP! They gave me a sample of the banana shampoo and I liked it, so I bought it and it's also without glycerine plus I've no problems with SLS :). I used the banana conditioner back in high school (pre LHC-times) and I enjoyed using it. Many thanks for your congratulations and kind words!! :)
+coffee&makeup They are actually hydrated. I really need to update my ch. but my computer is broken. I am getting very close. I am waist length now So excited! Thanks for asking! 😉
Waist length woot woot! The mid back abyss is the worst part so congrats! Major milestone. And great job on those hydrated curls - that is not an easy task.
Thanks for the suggestions! I love me some new shampoos - and I love Herbal Essences especially. Btw you are killing that dark lip! I wish I could pull one off so well.
Is it good for your hair to sleep with it up? I've been doing that so it'll curl over night, and I won't have style it in the morning. btw, I really like your channel, and your hair growth is really inspiring. I bleached my hair in 7th grade, and after 3 years, it's finally grown all the way out. Even though I only bleached it once, my hair stayed really damaged for a long time. I have been taking really good care of it lately, and plan to grow it longer :)
it's fine to tie your hair as long as it is not too tight. what I started doing is rolling it into a bun and covering it with a bandanna or those caps for protecting hair at night.
I'm glad I could be helpful for your journey! Bleach damage is the worst. You want to make a fun change one day and then you have to deal with the years of damage after. >_< Personally, I don't bun my hair when I sleep. Mine is really sensitive to mechanical damage so if I do that, I get a halo of broken hairs around where I secure the bun. BUT, if your hair isn't so susceptible there's really nothing wrong with it. I prefer a braid, but it definitely doesn't deliver pretty curls lol. More like wonky waves.
I finally have about shoulder length hair, in 2015 I had a super short pixie cut, and now I can actually do stuff with it! I still wish it would grow faster though..
You hit shoulder - it's gonna be all downhill from here I think! Happy growing and stay positive. There are fun styles and things to do at every length. We just have to find them!
Hey your hair looks amazing! I loved it and you look gorgeous as well. :) I started growing my hair last two years and since it became unhealthy, I had to go for hair cut :/ I regret cutting and now I have only shoulder length hair which is really short :( and I will absolutely follow your tips from now thank you! :))
Aww thank you! You'll probably find that I'm not the best instagram-er in this world, but I'm trying to get a little better. c: I have been with you on the shoulder length hair life. I didn't even cut mine because it was unhealthy - I cut it off because of a stupid boy haha. Oh well! Moral of the story is that it will be long and strong before you even notice. And short hair was so fun I think - it's easy to feel playful with shoulder length hair. Enjoy it!
you can most likely find them on aliexpress or eBay. I considered buying the dupe but read so many bad reviews that it falls apart I went with the original. make sure you buy a good hair scissors 😊
Hello! I got mine on Amazon, but that was back in 2014. I just checked and they no longer carry the specific brand I got. If you have thick hair, I think a dupe will serve you well. With thinner hair, I feel that it doesn't grip tightly enough. But I made it work. And yes, definitely get hair scissors! I got mine from Sally's - the Eclipse Laser Sharp 5.5" Styling Shears. And I don't use them for anything besides hair (so they don't dull).
I totally love your Videos Britt!! I have to ask you a question - from what I've seen through your videos, you and I seem to have the same hair type. Based on that assumption, I guess that our hair will benefit from the same or similar products and from what i've gathered you haven't attempted sls free and -cone free shampoos and conditioners. They totally do not work for me, have they ever worked for you though? And if so, is there any brand you would recommend? My hair is fine, straight, waist length, oily and I dye it every 3 months or so (minor damage there). I am looking forward to more of your videos!!! xD
Thank you so much for stopping by! It's always fun when you find a hair twin and fine, straight, and oily definitely fits the bill haha. I have tried a few SLS and cone free shampoos and conditioners. The one shampoo I had luck with was from DermOrganic - their Daily Conditioning shampoo. It was only sliiightly less effective than sulfate-ful shampoos. But I guess that's the point right? As for cone-free, that was an exercise in futility for me. Tangles galore and very dull hair! At this point, I think of cones as more of a tool than anything else. As long as I clarify every once in a long while to prevent buildup, cones work in my routine just fine. So that's my 2 cents. And by all means, if you discover a miracle product for our hair type definitely let a girl know!
Hahaha, it would fit the bill if I ever finished my bottles - I always skip to some other brand half way through! Same for me here, cone-free just turned my hair to a bird's nest, literally! I will try to order the DermOrganic shampoo online, stretching washes in the summer in order to avoid breakage is a nightmare... My miracle "product combo" I would say is mixing almond oil with aloe gel for the ends of my hair. I've been using this for a year and it has made a major difference!
Aw shucks - you are too kind! In a strange twist of fate, I have actually sworn off caffeine for the last few weeks. So desperate was I that I just bought decaf instant coffee today - and it was actually delicious after not having good coffee for a while. XD How goes the long hair journey?
Hair gets up to all sorts of nonsense in those interim stages! I bet it will straighten right out once it has a little more weight to it. Congrats on longest ever - that's a pretty amazing thing in itself!
i had hair like this for years and I chopped it all off. it is now still long, but not as long as it used to be. i really hated my hair. you can do nothing with it. you cant even put your hair in a bun because the hair is too heavy. i always wore it in a braid and that just got boring..
Sounds like you had very thick hair! Although even as a thin hair gal, mine is getting pretty heavy too. The boyfriend estimates that it's at least 1lb - 1 1/2lb. Do you like yours better now? Really your hair should be how you like it. If you didn't like it extra long (and most people don't) then the best idea was to chop I think.
Those hairdressers can be so naughty! I think they look at long hair sometimes and see a beautiful blank canvas. They can have a hard time accepting that we want the canvas to REMAIN BLANK haha.
coffee&makeup I know right! Also I had problems because I would get a hair but and the hair dresser would style it right smh. I am hoping I will get longer hair soon!! Awww thanks I try :P
Hi, I really enjoyed your video! I'm also a member of the, "Long Hair Community," as well!!! I would like to join with you too! What is your name on there?
Could you make any more hairstyles using a hair stick or even chopstick? p.s. You're very beautiful. You have a very elegant and soft face. ha ha...I know it's a random compliment but one nonetheless.
Well I'll take it haha. I can certainly do some more hair stick styles - never used a literal chopstick, but I have been known to grab a pencil when I don't have a proper stick around. XD
+coffee&makeup ha ha. I'm glad you took it ha. Thank you for considering my request too. I appreciate it. I did subscribe and can't wait to see the video. You have really long hair too so I'm sure you can pull it off ha. Thanks again
Steph Arizona i love watching ur channel lol. i hope u recognise my name as u always reply to my comments
Koala Bear thank you! Yes I remember you! ❤
Steph Arizona omg I love your videos! You've helped me a lot on growing out my hair!❤❤
i'm a 21 year old mom and I literally squealed when i saw this hair update was up XD. as usual, you and your hair are gorgeous!
I'm jealous of your hair! It's gorgeous! And I love your shirt lol
Please leave an update about YOUR hair journey in the comments if you'd like!
I had a horrible experience with the Whole Blends too!
It must be that we have similar hair types like you said!
Please keep doing these hair updates Britt! it's inspiring
my hair journey is starting over again due to bleach damage or it would be at your length right now
19 inches
Just hit 57 months!
You did great trimming your hair! Your hemline looks great. :) I'm maintaining classic length myself. :) You're nearly there!!!
OMG!! Blushing here about the acknowledgement ! I absolutely love the Pantene moisturizing. Glad you liked it too :D
Whew! I knew you would make me feel better. :) Didn't realize the sun could take such a toll on hair but I guess it does make sense!
Well it's definitely worth the effort!
You're one of my favorite people on UA-cam !i love your channel❤️😄
I want to trim my own hair because every time I would go to the salon they would cut off more than I asked. Where did u get that creaclip dupe? I'd like to get one
Got mine on the ol' Amazon. I just looked it up - they don't have the same brand anymore but I'm sure any of the ones they have would work fine. Those stylists need to calm it down with the "trims" sometimes lol.
+coffee&makeup Thanks! Lol I know it's like I said a trim not take 2 inches off that's why I haven't been to a salon in like 3 yrs haha
I'm not surprised! It's enough to give a girl PTSD.
really wow so amazing oh my gosh super duper good result.
how did you have this length ?
Britt! your hair looks amazing!
From behind walking along, she looks like a kid:)
A question for you and I'll go.
Exactly why I don't get it cut Cinder. I'm not willing to part with that much money for a haircut. lol
I love how healthy your hair looks!!!!!!!
Thank you - that's so kind of you to say! :)
Very nice Britt, you look good! And thanks for the male hair care video, very helpful.
Why thank you! I'm glad it was helpful for ya.
Yes, Panacea absorbs so much better than any of my oils! I love NightBlooming!
I know what you mean about the hair dresser being hard on your hair. I quit going.
My husband trimmed mine last time. Recently I got a creaclip that I'll be trying too.
ok haha im gonna start looking after my hair now and growing it so it can look like yours its so pretty!
I'm sure it's already plenty pretty! Keep me updates on your hair journey. :)
You should make a video about your haircare - I want to see this below the shorts hair!!
coffee&makeup haha deff..
Your hair is gorgeous! I'm jealous! And I love your shirt lol where did you get it?
So beautiful! It's grown so much!
Thank you so much! How is your journey going? I think the last time we talked you were growing right on past shoulder. :D
Oily scalp but dry ends? You're not brushing thoroughly, often enough. Think about it.
I have butt length hair, it's normal, trust me, when it gets to that length, it's hard for the oils to travel that far, and even brushing won't solve that - besides I don't brush I have wavy, almost curly hair, you *never* dry brush that!
you have the best hair on youtube
I've always had short thin hair that grows really slowly but I've noticed that after using your tips it's slowly speeding up and I'm sooooo happy because I really want long hair! Can you do an updated night or morning routine?? Also this is really long but I love your videos ☺️😀💙
:D Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that the tips are working for you! I should do a routine video - I love watching those.
i am trying to grow out healthier hair so i decided to skip washing my hair regularly. But my hair appears really oily and sticked together
do you have any tips and tricks for me?
love you brit
use dry shampoo. no need to spend tons of money on ones that don't even work, though. just use the good old natural corn starch powder + eventually add some cocoa powder in the mix, in case youre a brunette. many girls swear by this. i havent washed hair in a week and my hair looks brilliant, even better than when i wash it because this thing adds a shitload of volume! watch "homemade dry shampoo" videos, lifesaver.
Your ends at the thumbnail are so cute! ;)
Haha, thanks! They're always doing their own thing. :)
Could you please go to a Target or a drugstore and show all shampoos, conditioners, or any other hair care products that they have and review them? There are so many options out there and I don't know if they worth buying. I was wondering if you could help. Thank you!
Two of my favorites are Pantene Moisture Renewal and Herbal Essences Smooth Collection (in the pink bottle).
I'm trying to grow my hair long and I was wondering what kind of products you would recommend for someone who has thin hair?
Definitely frequent oil treatments and a moisturizing conditioner. My best advice for fellow thin hairs though is just to be super gentle with their hair. Try to avoid dyes, damaging styles like high ponytails, and try to detangle really gently with a wide tooth comb. Since our hairs are fewer and far between, we need to be gentle and keep as many as possible.
Lovely!
How long was your hair when you decided to grow it long
I’m almost grown out to my ribs but I’m bad about getting my ends cut off cause I hate to grow it long and having bad ends I am so glad I have a hair stylist as a sister in law she cuts just an inch every three months
Is that Etsy shop called Night Blooming. I can't seem to find her.
wao ..... So cool hair I need your help how can I get long hair in one year plzzz tell me.....
❤❤❤ I love your hair...its soo long & beautiful!
Hi again! Thank you so much for all your positivity.
And yes - update soon! Sorry to hear about your computer though. That's the worst!
my hair looks same like yours but they are a little longer ☺
I use the clear bottle Herbal Essence with rose hips. It would be awesome if they came out with a 0% silicone Coconut one as well 😕
Thanks for the suggestions! I love me some new shampoos - and I love Herbal Essences especially. Btw you are killing that dark lip! I wish I could pull one off so well.
you should try mustard oil it Make hair grow 3 or 4 cm in a month
Where do you find your mustard oil?
So you still keep your long hair?
More like wonky waves.
coffee&makeup Thanks for the advice :) it means a lot
I finally have about shoulder length hair, in 2015 I had a super short pixie cut, and now I can actually do stuff with it! I still wish it would grow faster though..
You hit shoulder - it's gonna be all downhill from here I think! Happy growing and stay positive. There are fun styles and things to do at every length. We just have to find them!
Omg your hair ❤️
Hey your hair looks amazing! I loved it and you look gorgeous as well. :) I started growing my hair last two years and since it became unhealthy, I had to go for hair cut :/ I regret cutting and now I have only shoulder length hair which is really short :( and I will absolutely follow your tips from now thank you! :))
P.s. you got a new insta follower ;)
Enjoy it!
wish my hair was like that
where did you get your creaclip dupe?
you can most likely find them on aliexpress or eBay.
And I don't use them for anything besides hair (so they don't dull).
coffee&makeup got mine from Amazon too and the scissors. My hair isn't too thick it's like yours :) tfrazee1 hope this helped!
الله يطول شعرك و يحميه، my hair is not very long but i want to make it like it
I totally love your Videos Britt!!
Still some of the nicest hair I have ever bared witness to. But where's the coffee?
Aw shucks - you are too kind! In a strange twist of fate, I have actually sworn off caffeine for the last few weeks. So desperate was I that I just bought decaf instant coffee today - and it was actually delicious after not having good coffee for a while. XD How goes the long hair journey?
The journey is long but I'm certainly reaching my destination. It's the longest it's ever been and for some reason it curls at neck length.
Hair gets up to all sorts of nonsense in those interim stages! I bet it will straighten right out once it has a little more weight to it. Congrats on longest ever - that's a pretty amazing thing in itself!
Awww, thanks!
Ahh your hair is lovely, do you think women's hair grows quicker than men's?
It definitely depends on the person
love your hair
Thank you! :*
beautiful hair ;*
I would love to see the hair trimming video 👍🏽
There is definitely an interest, so I'll be putting it out soon! Luckily I have all the footage already. Now to find time to edit.... :D
You remind me of holly Marie combs ( arias mom from pretty little liars )
Aww, you guys always compare me to the prettiest people! I used to love her in Charmed. Have you ever seen it? Awesome show.
You're so cute and you're hairs so perfect love u♥️♥️
my mom recently bought that whole blends shampoo- conditioner and she didn't like it either
woah 😱
Good woah I hope? :)
Emegeddd !!😂 tbh your damn gorgeous 😍
Aw shucks! :D Thank you.
Is not too hard to wash ?
It's actually not too bad! i only shampoo the scalp really - then I condition the whole thing. The worst part for me is definitely brushing.
BUY THE BRUSH...
i had hair like this for years and I chopped it all off. it is now still long, but not as long as it used to be. i really hated my hair. you can do nothing with it. you cant even put your hair in a bun because the hair is too heavy. i always wore it in a braid and that just got boring..
+coffee&makeup yeah i really like my hair now! and you are right: your hair should be how you like it. your hair is also really beautiful!
Or just wear it up. out of the weather etc.
Youre amazing and beautiful 💗
I've growing my hair for 5 years not as long 🙁 only cause I was going to salons who were scissor happy.
Those hairdressers can be so naughty! I think they look at long hair sometimes and see a beautiful blank canvas. They can have a hard time accepting that we want the canvas to REMAIN BLANK haha.
And I bet you'll be there before you know it! Your hair already looks gorgeous and full. :)

I know right!

What is your name on there?
hi❤ I love your Hair! I hope I'd can get a long hair like that wtf hahahaha
Hi
You have a thin hair?! Really? Do you sleep with you hair in braid?
:D In my estimation, it's pretty thin, but I guess it's all relative. And yes, I do sleep with it in a braid!
Love you lots and you're hair is gorgeous and you are so beautiful.
I can't stop looking at you
🔥💋💋
Could you make any more hairstyles using a hair stick or even chopstick?
p.s. You're very beautiful. You have a very elegant and soft face. ha ha...I know it's a random compliment but one nonetheless.
Well I'll take it haha. I can certainly do some more hair stick styles - never used a literal chopstick, but I have been known to grab a pencil when I don't have a proper stick around. XD
+coffee&makeup
