@@tonyhomant244 Me too, she's also the only artist to date who has had their face featured in the opening credits of a Bond film while singing the title song. With that face though how could they not. I don't even remember the Bond girls from that movie, only Sheena.

Bob Seger tells the best stories in his songs. Bob also has the gravelly voice. I saw him in concert in Chicago and his mother loved Kenny Rogers so he sang it for her. Dolly and Kenny do a great job on this song.

You've technically seen Sheena twice...when you did Prince's "U Got the Look", she was the sassy, sexy woman he was singing with. Prince actually wrote some songs for her to do solo as well. "Strut" and "Sugar Walls" were both big hits of hers.

Yes! I was somewhat disappointed that they started with Morning Train, because it doesn't scratch the surface of what her voice can do. I've been hoping they'd come back to her with For Your Eyes Only or You Could Have Been With Me.
Speaking of for Your Eyes Only, Amber and Jay have reviewed two Austin Powers movies and ZERO James Bond. They have never seen a James Bond Film. Wild given how that franchise remains relevant.

I feel that a person just can't go wrong, when Kenny Rogers is involved. Wonderful pairing with Sheena Easton on this one. Another one worth listening to, if you haven't already, is Kenny and Kim Carnes, in Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer.
Kenny and Kim had been friends for nearly 20 years when they recorded that song. They were both members of a folk group called New Christy Minstrels in the early to mid 60's

Oh, I LOVE that one! Kim's voice is so raspy and earthy, together with Kenny's sexy growl, it just works!!! Also, I would love to see them react to "What About Me", by the Trio that included both Kenny and Kim, along with the incomparable James Ingram! Such a beautiful and heartwrenching ballad.🥰

For ballads check out "Almost Over You", "For Your Eyes Only", "I Wouldn't Beg For Water" and an early recording of "Wind Beneath My Wings" (recorded seven years before the Bette Midler version).
For a feistier Sheena check out some of her MCA recordings such as "Lover In Me" and the Prince penned "101" (her vocal on this is amazing!).
101 is one of my favourite Sheena songs. She's said in the past that she's really proud of her vocals on that one
i think she suffered from hopping from genre to genre. people didnt know where she fitted. she started off in UK being very ordinary girl next door. became famous via a UK tv documentary. suddenly she was being some Prince vixen & talking about her sugar walls! It was a huge jump & seemed a bit forced.
Yes, her album from 2000, Fabulous, was her last new studio album. It was finally released in the US as a digital album in recent years. Before, it was only available as an import CD. I love her duet with Prince, "Arms of Orion". They co-wrote the song together. Some of my favorite songs of hers, were co-written by her: Like "Flower in the Rain" and "Love Will Make You Wise". Sheena also sang the theme song, "Carry a Dream", to a Japanese anime movie on her Japanese import CD, "Home". That's another favorite of mine.
Their voices together sound so amazing! It's like peanut butter & marshmallow. You wouldn't think they would work together, but they do... in a unique way! Plus the song itself is so amazing.

She has done songs from Prince that will have you saying WOW. She was the Scottish Olivia Newton John. She had great popularity in the US for a while but she was a huge star in the UK. Sheena Easton was one of the first 'reality' pop singers ever after the series Big Time: Pop Singer aired in the UK in1980. It was true to it's word as by 1981 Sheena had indeed hit the big time working as a pop singer!
This is one of the most beautiful pairing of voices that has ever been done. Kenny's style is unique, and Sheenas vocals are so strong its just perfection. Not to be taken for granted, the arrangement and instrumentation could not have complimented their voices any better. The definition of excellence!
I wasn’t a Sheena Easton fan back in the day, but I was a huge Prince fan and when she did Sugar Walls I was impressed. Now I have to admit her ballads are pretty good too and her voice is great. And Kenny Rogers is a real one.
Two songs that really show her voice off are "For Your Eyes Only" and "You Could Have Been With Me." Such beautiful songs too but her voice really amps up the perfection level and she shows off those high notes in them. I think your eyes would be very pleased. Though neither are fast songs they still have a lot of power and energy in them.

Another Kenny Rogers song worth considering is "What About Me", which features James Ingram and Kim Carnes as well. Great vocals and feeling in that one. It went to #1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart in 1984.

I grew up in the 80s with lots of Kenny Rogers. We had a neighbour who was a DJ so every Sunday morning, he lived atop a hill, he would play all Kenny's songs. Be would also play some Jim Reeves but it was most Kenny. We would be coming from Mass on Sunday mornings and we would greeted by this music and he played it most of the day.

Sheena Easton attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, where she trained from 1975 to 1979 as a speech and drama teacher by day, while singing with a band called "Something Else" by night at local clubs. She chose to study teaching rather than performing, because it was a course of study that would let her perfect her craft as a singer. She was spotted on a tv reality show by record producer Micky Most, and she had a few hits in the UK before taking on the US.

He's a race car driver who ends up with 6 orphaned kids who serve as his pit crew. The song charted at #1 on Country and Adult Contemporary charts and #13 on Billboard Top 100.

I grew up with parents who loved Kenny Rogers and his records were always on the turntable and great big speakers sending that voice all through the house.
Another beautiful ballad is Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer. That is a Kenny Rogers duet with Kim Carnes. Their both somewhat raspy voices beautifully compliment each other.
At a concert in Virginia he started singing "Lady" , as he's singing a huge canvas drops from the ceiling, it's showing the birth of his and his wife's baby.
You MUST see the live version with Kenny and Dolly from when she toured with him. Typical Kenny and Dolly vibes. You will love it!!
Soon after my mom passed away, i was driving down the highway when "Through The Years" came on. i had to pull over because i found myself crying. It was my mom's favorite songs. Music truly moves us beyond words!

Here's a suggestion. This was great and you both had a beautiful reaction. Now, you should pull up the live concert version of Kenny and Sheena. The way they feed off each other and act out the song onstage with the crowd getting fired up adds a whole new dimension to the song -- and it will blow you away even more than the studio version. Kenny was a great actor as well as a singer and he brought out the best in all of his duet partners.

This is a beautiful duet & it was a big hit, back in the day. Kenny has sung this one live with Dolly Parton too & Dolly always makes a crack like 'Who needs Sheena Easton?'. Always gets some laughs. Also, Dolly & Kenny did a duet shortly before he passed away called 'You can't make old friends' & it is perfect & a must see, if you like those two. (How could you not?) And for an amazing ballad by Kenny, check out 'Through the years', which is perfect for any couple that has been together a long time.
