I don't think there's song that Kenny couldn't sing and rock it!! Goosebumps as always! We definitely lost one of the best male singers to ever grace the stage!! Sheena rocked it too!! RIP Kenny 💜
Love them both but kenny is my song hero .iv been a fan for over 45 yrs .I am broken .RIP during g pandemic thank you sl much for play ING him .I can't express how much you are appreciated
Ruby is my favorite song. I would turn up the volume on my radio in my mom and dad car. I could listen to that one all day. Of course The Gambler was another one , but my favs we in his early day of his career.
My favorite Kenny Rogers is "Lady" the reason being is the power and emotions he puts into the song is unbelievable, it still gives me chills each time I listen to it.
Kenny Rogers actually started out as a Rock 'n Roll singer in a band called "Kenny Rogers and the First Edition" in the mid to late 60's so the OP is technically correct that he's not based entirely in country music.
Kenny started out with jazz. He became a member of the New Christy Minstrels. Then was in a band The First Edition. That was an electric rock band (rock & roll). Just Dropped In was my favorite Edition song. He evolved into Country Music. Coward Of The County was my favorite country song.
Hr is country this is the only song that doesn't sound country .you chould listen to coward of the county or the gambler iv been following kenny for 46 yrs still love his music he was one of a kind RIP just died during pandemic I am crushed likeillions of other fans Amen
Kenny Rogers was a beloved staple. Sheena Easton was really hot with a lot of hits and then disappeared overnight. Which is a shame because she had an awesome voice.
Great song. Kenny as usual is flawless! And Sheena Easton, one of the best singing lasses to ever come out of Scotland. Loved her hits morning train, for your eyes only (I am dating my self) great together. She looks so tiny next to him lol.
Kenny Rogers and The First Edition ... you are right.... he started out in psychedelic rock to end up in country... he co-wrote Lady with Lionel Richie in a night.... he and Dolly Parton sang Islands in the stream...Written by the Bee Gees... later sampled by Pras,Ol' Dirty Bastard and R&B singer Mýa... He is a singer...period... sounds attract us all R&B, country, POP, rap.... we are one.... God Bless MRM!!!
Kenny was a pop singer with the New Edition back in the day. He goes back and forth really to all genres. From Dolly to Lionel he would collaborate with anyone with the same passion.
When Kenny Roger's was in The First Edition, he wasn't country. So when he started singing more country music I just couldn't think of him as country. I'm a fan from way back and to me he doesnt have a genre. I love all of his music. Lady is my favorite song.
I will miss him greatly Kenny Rogers r.i.p His music reminds me of being a kid and my pap who passed away in 97 at the age of 69 of a heart attack two days before christmas.
Kenny & Dottie West's "Daytime Friends". Kenny Rogers started out as a rock singer & was a crossover star. My favorite Kenny songs were "Lucille" & "Love Or Something Like It". Lucille was the 1st song of his that I can remember hearing & there are a couple of lines from "Love..." that I like.👍👍
A cover of Bob Seger.. now that, is an artist you need to hear.. one of the great tellers of story through music. Everything he does, is a story. You have probably heard so much of his music, and don’t even realize it. His music has been in movies and commercials. Might I suggest Turn the Page, and Like a Rock to begin your voyage through the Bob Seger rabbit hole...
Big fan of Kenny, "Lady" is my absolute favorite song by Kenny Rogers. Sheena Easton is a powerhouse singer, and I love her collaborations with Prince, especially "You Got the Look" and "Strut" are my favorites.
Rip To Kenny Rogers!!! Sheena Easton her voice is just amazing. Her pitch is high n she is fine as hell. Ty, u have to do more reactions to Sheena Easton Music videos. God Bless The Rogers Fam.
Ty, my first Kenny Rogers song was "I Just Dropped In", but it was Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. I went to one of their concerts back in 1970 that was held in the local college's rodeo arena. He was very much thought of as a rock and roll singer back then.
@@Modern-Renaissance-Man Since the wife and I are in the dreaded "65 and over" crowd we are holed up at home hiding from Covid germs. I'm COPD, diabetic and over the 65 limit so I'm hiding under the covers so he can't find me. :-)
LMBO; I just got done watching this very video a few seconds ago, two talented artist; Kenny Rodgers started out singing rock never made much out of turned to country and became an instant star Conway Twitty same thing.
Love Kenny Rogers! He was great in concert!! When I was looking for a song to dance with my son at his wedding I finally picked Kenny Rogers “You Decorated My Life”. The words just seemed to fit all the things that having my son added to my life. ❤️🎵
Thank you so very much for finally playing some """W-H-I-T-E P-E-O-P-L-E""""" who can actually sing a f who have a beautiful voice Soul Brother. Keep up the good work.
I've listen to Kenny Rogers for four decades give or take. I always felt he was what we use to call easy listening music. Some of his stuff definitely leans more country with "Coward of the county" or "The Gambler".
Kenny was a crossover artist. He had said in several interviews that he wanted to always be remembered as a country artist. My favorite Kenny rodgers is not just a song but an album it was his christmas album every year from the time that album came out to even today when my mom decorates her house that album gets put on repeat and you could hear her sing along with the album while decorating the house
Sheena Easton recorded a really beautiful version of "Wind Beneath My Wings" in 1982, six years before Bette Midler's No. 1 version from the movie "Beaches" in 1988.
Kenny Rogers started in a group called the New Chrisy minstrels in the early 60s. Then switched to Rock music in the late 60s early 70s with his group the new addition. Then went to country the crossed over to pop back to country. Then started acting as well.
Kenny Rogers “Love Will Turn You Around” from the 1982 movie Kenny was in - “Six Pack” - one of my favorite Kenny Rogers songs. Also a song that Kenny did was “Twenty Years Ago”. I would love to see a reaction video of both of these if you would. Thanks, Kevin
This is my favourite Kenny Rogers song! It came out around 83 and I was seeing a guy who was my first love. I was 22 and did he break my heart. This song was us! ❤️
Don't know if its been mentioned... Years before he became a country-pop crossover hero, Kenny Rogers hit the Top Ten in the US with his band The First Edition. That was in 1970 and the record was "Something's Burning". Definitely a Rock&Roll piece.
Keny Could cover any music genre..Country/Pop/R&B..with that talent he could be anything..and this was just another example of that amazing talent..another sad loss for us all in 2020.. Glad you played it and yet again Thanks you for all your hard work to keep us all entertained and feeling like we are still able to be among other lovers of music all over the world that is now in LOCKDOWN..Keep Strong Keep Safe My Dear Friend
Sheena has one of the greatest voices in rock / pop. Incredible power and clarity, from such a tiny little woman. i had such a huuuge thing for her. Everybody is going to tell yo to play Strut, Sugar Walls, and other major hits, but I'm telling you, to showcase her talent. give "Weekend In Paris" , "Almost Over You," or "Back in the City" a good listen. Also, "For Your Eyes Only."
Almost Over You will have you scratching your head, promise. 84' Tonight show Live. Ice Out in the Rain is another killer. Another head scratcher. She really hits a lot of highs there.
I agree with you about Rogers and Stapleton voices. Thanks for reacting to this song; I forgot he did this. He sings this with Dolly also. As much as I like Dolly, I prefer this version. I have to go binge his songs now!
Kenny was one of the 1st crossover artist. You can listen to The Gambler and it sounds country. Listen to him sing"My Condition"straight 60's vibe. Then rock ballad duets with multiple ladies. Islands in the Stream was the first song to chart top 10 on both country & pop charts at its release. It took Taylor Swift 26 year to finally achieve that feat again.
If you have seen the James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only.... Sheena is the one who sang the title song "for your eyes only". If not throw in into Bingo.
A great love song, I remember listening to this many times when I was feeling sentimental, also this was a great song to skate too. Kenny had a unique husky voice and am in total agreement with you Ty, I always thought that Kenny crossed over the different music genres like “The Eagles” or “Keith Urban” to name a few.
Do you know 'The Voice USA'? Well, I can tell you, if you watch it, this guy auditioning, the song was 'We've got toninght' - Todd Tilghman, he's incredible. xx
I believe that Kenny's career covered several genres, such as pop music, jazz, and country...so I'm sure that along the way he also had a chance to sing R&B tunes.
I don't have a favorite Kenny Rogers song. The thing about some performers is how their voices are able to blend with others. Duets are the thing with Kenny Rogers that I like. Barbra Streisand has an entire album of duets. If you haven't heard Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera with Michael Crawford... or Tell Him with Celine Dion... The blend of harmonies across the board is more interesting to me. Well done and thanks for your time and effort.
Some artists surpass genre. He was one.
I am country. I love Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton. Neither one has ever been country. Kenny is a beast in R&B and Pop. Jesus is with him I believe.
I don't think there's song that Kenny couldn't sing and rock it!! Goosebumps as always! We definitely lost one of the best male singers to ever grace the stage!! Sheena rocked it too!! RIP Kenny 💜
I fell in love with Sheena hearing her sing this. Cute high voice..how she slides into the note ...sooooooooo adorable.
Kenny Rogers has sung every genre there is because he can't be classified. He uses his God given talent to entertain, period!!
I love this duet👍🥰
Love them both but kenny is my song hero .iv been a fan for over 45 yrs .I am broken .RIP during g pandemic thank you sl much for play ING him .I can't express how much you are appreciated
Sheena had her own string of hits in the 80’s. I saw her twice at the Cape Cod Musical Tent. She’s absolutely amazing.
Ruby is my favorite song. I would turn up the volume on my radio in my mom and dad car. I could listen to that one all day. Of course The Gambler was another one , but my favs we in his early day of his career.
I agree with you completely!
The Gambler is probably my favorite Kenny Rogers song! Along with Lady
Great Music Fantastic
He was such a showman I seen him when he came to Kansas City long time ago with TGraham Brown and Lee Greenwood
My favorite Kenny Rogers is "Lady" the reason being is the power and emotions he puts into the song is unbelievable, it still gives me chills each time I listen to it.

The Gambler... it was my first experience to Kenny Rogers and has stayed with me to this day.
That was live and that was FABULOUS! R.I.P. gsmbler. Btw, he left behind two twin sons who are only 15yrs old.

They are so good together! Sheena has a beautiful voice as well as Kenny the legend!
You picked a fine time to leave us Kenny Rogers.
Twenty Years Ago - A great song about having memories of days gone by and people we used to know.
Kenny always sounded like a cross over artist. He could do any genre. Thank you so much for sharing.

the greatest
I totally agree with your view on Kenny.
When Kenny Roger's was in The First Edition, he wasn't country. So when he started singing more country music I just couldn't think of him as country. I'm a fan from way back and to me he doesnt have a genre. I love all of his music. Lady is my favorite song.

Kenny Rogers could be country and then he could be very r&b. You're correct. One of the best.
Thank you. I love what you are doing.
Kenny singing Ruby is his best. Period. My dad was a Vietnam Vet and he would cry every time he heard that song. He knew so many broken boys...
Shar Mullins ever listened to roger millers version?
@@adrock1011 Oh yeah. My dad loved Roger Miller.
He had so many great songs. There is no way I could pick one as a favorite. It would be safe to say he was one of the best.
Oh boy..love some Kenny Rogers
I love Kenny's song Rueben James it is such a special song it sends a good message about how a person should be and how we shouldn't be..
Man, I haven't heard Sheena in ages. What a voice. Thanks for this.
Love these two together. He is kinda like the pretty willy nelson can sing with anyone and make it sound good always compliments the other singer!
Kenny had his own genre
Kenny & Dottie West's "Daytime Friends".

Kenny was more soft rock than country in the 80’s tbt. Love me some Kenny anytime anywhere! Thank you for the reaction.

Kenny started out as a R and B singer. He recorded a few country songs that plugged him in to that style
