What’s so difficult at least for me… is that the music of 70s 80s was just so good… will never be duplicated… Most of us knew where we were when music of this era was played..cars we drove, jobs we had, places we parked….girlfriends… we had no idea at the time that we would grow into adults and eventually become old and wore out. But what and era, throw in 60s….what a great time to grow up… Those days have long passed. To everyone listening pass the music along to the next generation.. They will be glad you did!!! Peace✌🏻
I'm 23 but I feel like in my past life l lived during the 60s-80s and died at a young. Absolutely in love with this era's music. Always have been and always will be.
Agreed. Listening and watching these songs takes you back a time that you thought would never end and now as your own kids are in there 20-30's you realise how lucky we were to live in the 80's and all it had to offer. Amazing songs.
One of the nicest songs ever. I was probably less than 10 years old when I first heard this but now being 50 - this is the first song that came to mind when we went to NYC recently.

Cheers everyone out there and I hope that you're having a beautiful day.
On September 20, 1981 I took my GF to see Arthur at the theater in Shawnee, OK. It was her 17th birthday. I broke up with her that night and was a little insensitive to her. She did nothing wrong and she was a gentle sweetheart. I was almost 19. I moved away to California but never forgot her. I would cry out her name while trucking across the Mojave desert. I still love her deeply. Everytime I hear this song it just kills me because it was in the movie. I’m 61 now and my love for her still lives on. 😞
You f***** up! You said it yourself she did nothing wrong you broke up with her and you were insensitive to her so what the hell do you expect her to do wait around you're now in your 60s. You sound like an asshole. I don't think there's any hope in Hell you'll ever find her at this point she probably got married decades ago. We've all been there as guys and done stupid s*** when we were young my best advice to you is to move on and find someone your own age at this point to live the rest of your few pathetic years left of your life
The movies of the '80s were absolutely magical in the way they could effortlessly marry a perfect new pop song to the story of the movie. Arthur, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, An Officer and a Gentleman, Fame, Footloose, Dirty Dancing, Mannequin, Top Gun, Goonies, the list goes on and on. This has truly become a lost art.

Yeah, no doubt!...eu pude viver na realidade quase que tudo que ele fala, em NYC, mesmo não tendo o dinheiro do Arthur ...eu tinha só 19 anos em 1988 quando cheguei sem ninguem em NYC.
ooowaaooOOOW!!!! What a beautiful old Songs ,I remember in my school years 1970's I miss this Song my Brother name is Arthur's Best that you can do that... YESSSS!!! Christopher Cross the original Singers 🙏👍💗💗💗
I heard the song on the radio a few weeks ago and I realized that such a masterpiece does not seem to have been composed in the past decades. The melody, vocals and arrangement testify to the fact that true artists were at work in the production. Art has the task of beautifying the world and enriching it with timelessly beautiful melodies, and not creating even more chaos and noise. Christopher Cross has lived up to this maxim with this musical masterpiece. I would like to express my appreciation for this extraordinary achievement.
@@cjmq1970 Thank you for your valuable contribution. I am a music-loving contemporary who is still receptive to new musical achievements. When I was recently confronted with the repertoire of music of a 15-year-old girl, I was downright dismayed that it was mainly consisted of rap and hip hop, but did not contain a single song that could not withstand the quality of "Arthur's Theme" and many other comparable songs from the 60s to 80s.
The song talks about the feeling of freedom and escapism that sailing provides. The lyrical self finds peace and serenity at sea, where he can dream and free himself from the worries of everyday life. The lyrics suggest that the sail is a metaphor for the journey of life, where the wind represents the opportunities and challenges we encounter along the way.
This song is 7 years older than me...and yet, it's probably my favorite song of all-time. I had the privilege of seeing Christopher Cross perform it live back in 2021, and I'll never forget it.
This song transports me to the time of my first love, when I dance with my first boyfriend, thank you for bringing me such beautiful and priceless memories tonight❤❤

Verdade!
Perfect song to hum while delivering a monster's head to the gods.

Fujii Kaze sang this during his concert in NY! I'm falling in love with this song more, it's like, it's nice to be in love in New York. 🤭😍🥰
Actually, this masterpiece could’ve only been composed 40 years ago. Nowadays you won’t find that talent, sadly.
Sad they don't make music like this anymore. The pure quality, the innocence, actual musical instruments
High on potenuse?
He has one of the most beautiful voices ever. This and sailing get right down into every fiber of your being.

Times were nicer in the world when this song came out.
I was 10 in 1981 the memories this song carries is just priceless...
I was born in 1977 and i grew with Bee Gees and Christopher. This song is so beautiful and magical.
Film is great and Christopher sings it beautifully❤❤

Don't forget Hall and Oats.

Now I know and everybody knows that there's countless great songs from The Greatest Decade in The History of Civilization,The 1980s. But very few songs gives you that 1980's feel like this Masterpiece created by The Great Christopher Cross. No question about it man.

This song has a way to paint
such a mental picture of losing someone we loved and the regret of ever letting that happen. Awesome song writing!!!❤❤❤

I first listened to this song during the 80s when I was a teenager. Fast forward 35 years later I am now a father of 3 teens. Love this masterpiece!
It's not a masterpiece. You only love it for the memories it's connected to. Get a hold of yourself. Have some dignity-and stop talking sht.
