A basketball attached to what was once your slick polished abs is the main one.
I started watching your videos because my wife was. But what got me hooked was the research and medical information you give to back up your opinions. It also helped that you were a very heavy and unhealthy person but you were able to turn your life around. Thank you for all your hard work! 🤗☮️
My dad died of nafld. People need to seriously educate themselves on fatty liver rapidly becoming a leading cause of death in the USA.
How much he weighted and was he a heavy person and at what age he passed away??.Thanks for your input.Greatly appreciated.
Actually there is a way to discover Fatty Liver, my fatty liver showed up in an Ultrasound
I happened to accidentally find out after having got kneed in the ribs, the doctors said I didn't need an x-ray as that will just heal in 6 weeks, but they said we will check you for internal organ damage... found no damage, yet my liver shined up white on the ultrasound, which is a key symptom of fatty liver
I was able to reverse it because I changed my whole diets around fixing the fatty liver, and weight just fell off
Yes. I have fatty liver. 20 lbs overweight. Pre diabetic. ( Which means I'm diabetic) A1C is 58. I'm doing Keto, with lots of leafy green vegetables. And intermittent fasting. Exercise 5 X a week. I've lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks. Hope to be cured by 01/01/2023.
Switch to extended fasting..72hrs.. and work your way up.
Do not worry Todd I am in the same boat in six months I cut out all fast food and went keto to almost carnivore. I lost 25 lbs but after that it got hard have to be even stricter.
Good news is my blood pressure went to normal and you will see benefits.
@@TheSmulla ❤😅b uu
Are you doing IF as well? 16:8 combined with Keto did wonders for me.
Thanks. Very useful information. 😊
Always enjoy a vid of yours with my morning cup of coffee.
Thank a lot🤗 , so accurate, this is exactly what I'm going through now, I discovered it 3 weeks ago, fatty liver, and all because I didn't exercise for two and a half years since the start of the COVID19, three months ago I started by walking for half an hour and increased it to an hour and 40 minutes, about a month ago I went back to working out at the gym, now that I've been on a protein and some vegetables diet for a month (minimum carbohydrates) I'm starting to see results, I've lost weight (20 kilos from starting process) , my stomach has really shrunk and now I also see an improvement in my body structure.
You've strengthened me, the process is slow and the beginning was hard, not easy, I just have to keep going...
Thank you, your commitment is inspiring me. I need to get back on track, too.
The hardest part is starting. After a week or so, it's just a matter of routine. It almost feels off if you DON'T work out lol
You give the most helpful information. It's helped my health tremendously. THANK YOU!
Amazing content Thomas, Thank you. Fatty liver has always been a difficult one not only to understand but to get doctors to respond to your concerns. Being there is no direct testing to confirm, it's hard to get answers for a medical professional. They brush you off even when it concerns an elderly T2D family member.
CT Scan will show fatty liver, but it’s a lot of radiation to find out.
Fibroscan! Noninvasive and cheap
@@Sam-yx9ry he's goes in for CT scan in a few weeks post acute pancreatitis. while he is looking at the pancreas I will see if he can examine the liver as well. thank you.
@@dawn1913 you are welcome. All the best for your family member 🙏
The best explanation of fatty liver I heard so far………thank you😊
Excellent Thomas thank you
Thanks, Thomas.
I'm not even overweight and developed fatty liver. Very frustrating.
Could you make a video going more into detail with Central Fatigue and what could cause more of the mental fog and how to prevent and improve it.
Hypothyroid was the obvious thing I thought of when I went from 170 pounds to 200 in just a couple weeks in spite of walking 10 miles a day. It was because the doctor and I could not figure out how to get my fasting blood sugar down that I continued to the point of going on diabetes meds even after the thyroid issues were supposedly corrected. {Weight gain of this type was my canary.} I am on my 2nd endocrinologist because the first one kept giving me bad advice and refused to accept certain limitations that a disabled person has. The new one not only understood that I have problems testing my own blood sugar, but also has me see a dietician on a regular basis to keep me accountable to myself and my goals. Right now I am about the same weight as I was when half the age I am now. The dietician thinks it's amazing that I weigh the 184 that I was when I was 26. It would not surprise me if my A1C has dropped still further than it was 2 months ago, but of course the insurance company will not let me test until next month. At this point it is nearly a year since I was told that my hepatic enzyme test have returned to acceptable. I am continuing intermittent fasting and using apple cider vinegar because I want better than "acceptable." Your thoughts as well as those of Dr Eric Berg - another UA-cam person - have helped a great deal.
Good job.
Thank you seriously thank you!
Thanks Thomas
Was diagnosed with NASH cirrhosis about a year ago. Many doctors don't know what to do. If your liver enzymes are high get looked at by a liver specialist. It wasn't till I changed doctors found out how serious this was. I'm trying like hell to turn this around just hoping its not to late. Ive lost 65 lbs through Keto and Intermittent Fasting and exercise.
*Wut is cMeL 714 SuPPosed to be???*
CORRECTION:
There IS a test for fatty liver!
An ULTRASOUND absolutely will detect fatty liver.
An ultrasound will reveal whether or not you have fatty liver.
I was diagnosed w/ fatty liver after an ultrasound & after 2 blood tests were negative.
I can verify that all the possible symptoms you described are associated w/ fatty liver.
There is a 'therapy' to treat fatty liver.
It involves strict keto to lower blood glucose but the main 'therapy' is extended fasting.
Extended fasting may be the more important but nutrition is also very important.
Certain supplements are also needed to treat fatty liver.
Milk thistle & dandelion are very useful but some amino acids are required too.
Another sign of fatty liver is red hands but that fades as it progresses.
When treating fatty liver w/ keto & extended fasting the red hands may return as the liver cycles back thru that stage as it begins healing.
At least that has been my experience.
The liver can regenerate to some degree tho that seems to be variable.
In any case 48-72 hour fasts (in ketosis) are key as that acts to burn fat out of the liver.
Even longer fasts may accelerate the process.
Hopefully helpful.
Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!
Eat some nuts (good fats) to prevent developing GALLSTONES.This is another issue to watch out when doing long fasting and the gallbladder bile is stagnant and not draining often, it slowly the bile could turn thick and become sludge and eventually into those painful Gallstones...
Every few hours at least have some a spoon of Olive oil or a small hand of nuts just to recycle fresh bile.
Add TUDCA supplement to help with sludge while fasting. And healing fatty liver.
What blood test shows fatty liver?
@TheDay HeMade
In between like at least every 8 hours..If you dont want carbs then avoid the nuts and go with ONE BIG TABLE SPOON of Olive Oil..As long as you get some Fat to "stimulate" the gallbladder to release the Bile (that's the only way-- by eating some type of Fat or Saturated Fat).
@TheDay HeMade
The only way to trigger bile release is by your small intestine triggering some hormone ( I forget the name) to release bile when it senses Fat, because Fat is harder to break or digest.
@TheDay HeMade
Look at Dr. Bergs short video how the "Gallbladder and Bile" works.
I have been hypothyroid since birth, grew up on a farm but then moved to uni, my activity level dropped and 10 years of a desk job and commuting, poor diet "letting myself go" resulted in fatty liver and a real risk if diabetes given family history. Fatty liver confirmed by ultrasound and I have shifted 2.5 stones and my levothyroxine dose has reduced as my body is adapting to a better metabolism. Thank you for explaining this, it is easy to understand.
Hey Thomas ty for all the videos!
Do u have a y I do on nutra bio's multi sport, thermofuel, reload recovery, and intra blast?
Are they keto friendly and do they break your fast?
What?? You lost 100 pounds? That’s amazing. Thanks for this video.
I have this. I don’t ever have high sugar. I have a reactive insulinoma. And it makes 20 times the normal amount of insulin. I had an ultrasound in 2012 that showed my liver at 13 cm. Then this tumor progressed rapidly and my liver measured at 20 cm by 2016. My enzymes were fine. And I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for the ultrasound. Besides the fact that I had gained 50lbs in 2 years with a keto diet and cardio and strength training. (This was before I discovered the magic of fasting). Once I learned how to do extended and intermittent fasting, I got my liver down to 16.9 cm. My CRP
Was high as well. And now it’s down to normal. I still have work to do. But it’s nice to see progress. Getting a ultrasound every couple of years to measure the liver helps a lot.
Would you consider a Celsius drink mixed with 5mg of creatine enough to break a fast?
Hi Thomas you are doing a great job. I have a point of difference in your statement that if one is insulin resistant and obese then there are 3.5 times more
chances of getting a fatty liver. I'm convinced that one can be obese only if someone is insulin resistant. Insulin resistance is the root cause of all non infectious lifestyle diseases. So by equating both together people can get confused and think both are separate things. No one can be overweight without becoming insulin resistant. In terms of hierarchy of villains IR is the top boss.
I recommend also getting an abdominal ultrasound to check the way the liver looks
i hope it's not too late for me. i've been fatigued for years but since jan 1 have been on a ketogenic one meal a day diet where i am beginning to lose the weight AND my fatigue has gone away.
I'm starting to wonder if I have this. I constantly have oddities with my bowels, and feel very fatigued all the time regardless of diet. And my diet has deliberately been 'higher fat' than carbs for about 2 years now. And for certain after testing, I know my thyroid is on the very low end of normal.
Would weak leg muscles be a sign of fatty liver? In addition to diabetic neuropathy?
Good facts
When I stalled, I took his video advise and these worked LIGHTENING FAST!!! In a couple of Thomas videos, he advised about drinking (my delicious homemade) Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice combo. Which I did ALL DAY - especially before and during my meals with added CYLON CINNAMON & stevia - and one of his video advises on taking MAGNESIUM WITH THE MEAL (CHECK OUT THOSE VIDEOS)!!! ALL THAT WORKED SUPER FAST FOR ME!!! TRY IT!!!
Homemade apple cider vinegar is DELICIOUS mixed with lemon juice, cinnamon and stevia!!!
Don't forget about (chromium picolinate) dandelion root tea & milk thistle!!!
I NEVER COUNT CALORIES - EVER! Just count carbs.
The best I hv found for my fatty liver chrorella or spirulina and lemon oil
What affects does serrapetase have on stage 3 or 4 if any? Have your studied that information? Also I heard that Tudca and Oxbile salts can help as well. What's your thought on these supplements?
Dr Berg recommends either
I have lost about 80 pounds the past year. Will this help me to decrease a fatty liver.
Thomas, can you please inform the public about GALLSTONES on the dangers of doing long fastings for way too long or too often and a person developing Gallstones if they're not squeezing their GB at least some few times a day in between their fasting...Thanks!.
I found out about ALT, AST BS rubbish the hard way. They only show 30% of the fibrosis/ chirrhosis situation. Therefore, i tell all alcoholics like myself to do ultrasound and not trust liver panel. Was drinking because the enzymes were perfect.... now, I'm pretty sure that I have fibrosis. The only ways to find out is to do ultrasound or MRI, there's also another blood test which is not performing in the USA because insurance wouldn't cover. It tells me that they want us sick. That test is very definitive. I'm trying to reduce alcohol consumption, I've also been on low carb/ keto for years and exercising for years intensely. Plus, I take CBD and milk thistle. I hope to survive because I have small children. I am not trashed, but I drink low carb beer or dry wine every day ( was).
I was diagnosed with NASH no fibrosis a year ago. The Mediterranean diet is what was recommended. Don't get hungry just stripping the saturated fat and glucose down to a minimum. I lost 40 pounds but still need to lose more. I slacked off on exercising so need to get back to it. Haven't been retested yet hopefully it is turning around
You probably have at least stop the NASH on its tracks by losing those 40 lbs.
Can you update if you find out?
Another reason God ask us to fast, as much as we can! Of course He Is not a dietician, But He created us, and no one knows about His creation than God Himself! So while fasting, losing weight, getting health, And most importantly, get close to Him, offered all you struggles and your goodness to Him. You will have peace and live healthy life! 🕊️❤️

I just want you to say that if you have these symptoms GO TO THE DR FOR DIAGNOSIS do not just try to self treat this on your own because the same symptoms of this is the same symptoms as VERY MANY other conditions, diseases, and disorders. Even if you do have inflammation in the liver and don’t drink you could also have something like LUPUS causing it so treating with food won’t be enough to prevent the damage to the liver. You need to find out the EXACT cause of what is causing it and that is with trial and error and testing under medical supervision. Not treated on your own at home but yes this is great information to people.
why would you reduce saturated fat?
I went LCHF - then keto - increased my saturated fat - and reduced my AST and ALT by about 50% which put them in mid normal range. Carbs and fructose in particular surely would be the target.

If you’re bloated, I recommend trying to go gluten free for a while to see if that helps. I struggled with bloat at times, particularly at night, and when I went gluten free I saw a notable difference (P.S., I was not diagnosed with celiac disease). Not saying don’t look into fatty liver, but wanted to pass that tidbit along.
Ok... I'm dead then
Trying...
I was 500 pounds and have severe fatty liver. I've lost 125 pounds, but I'm stuck at 375, seems like nothing I do will break that plateu. I'm only eating 1000-1500 calories a day, fasting 20 hours a day at least 5 days of the week and do either 16/8 or 12/12 when I don't hit 20.
Been following your advice for 125 pounds fat loss, but now it just stopped and not working anymore.
Are you lifting weights and exercising?
Hopefully you don't drink Diet Sodas.
Those Diet Sodas will prevent you from losing weight.
Similar here.
Im losing weight, but not fast enough--very slow.
Im on low carb, but I think it could be the Saturated Fat..Watch Thomas video that he did like 4 days ago on too much Saturated Fat could be affecting and causing Insulin Resistance..
Your killing your metabolism if you stay in that low calorie range.
Try occasional carb cycling, or keeping macros the same but occasionally increasing calorie intake by 150-300 to help kickstart metabolism. If you stay low cal all the time you'll reset your metabolic rate to that lower intake
I have fatty liver. I've been trying to fast but I'm always hungry. Any tips to get over the hunger pings?
Carnivore I'm never hungry even through extended fasts
Thank you both. I've never tried a strict keto and I'm not familiar with carnivore diet. I'm assuming they're similar?
Dr Ken Berry on yt is another good one to follow, he was keto but is now carnivore his wife is also on his vids.
@@StickyKleenex carnivore I do is mainly beef, butter bacon and eggs, but I do also pop in seafood as well.
I’ve fasted a lot over the last few years.Remember that hunger comes in waves. Fasting is temporary pain for lasting results. Keep your mind occupied on something else when the hunger pangs come, drink some water, remind yourself of your goal, anything to push through. The more often you fast, the easier it becomes. Stay strict and regimented with it at the beginning and it will eventually become a healthy routine habit. Good luck!
Im at a healthy weight and still have fatty liver. I am hypothyroid.
A prolonged 7 day fast would probably heal a fatty liver completely or at least half way there..
Intermittent fasting and low carb for a month fixed mine.....the Dr was ready for a biopsy and meds
It depends on how severe it is. I can tell you that at 500 pounds with a fatty liver, a week of fasting isn't enough, I've done that, still have it.
I've lost 125 pounds in the last year doing intermittent fasting and mostly keto, still have a fatty liver.
@@PolPotsPieHole I kinda agree with this but this is relative to someone who is not obese and have other major issues. The liver needs rest and water to clean itself out and heal. It’s an amazing organ. Pretty freaking impressive organ to be more exact!

I've been taking TUDCA to help my liver, so far its good 😊
So what is it? Did your doctor tell you to take?
@@jsmith5764 it's a supplement. No my doctor only suggests pharma medication.
I did a lot of research, TUDCA seem to be one if the best supplements for liver even in later stages.
I've had elevated bilirubin and liver enzymes and with chanhing of food and adding TUDCA my liver improved in 4 weeks.
I normally struggle digesting fatty foods and red meat, since taking it I am able to digest more and it cleanses out fatty deposits in liver.

someone pin the four things already ughhhhh
Can an ultrasound detect a fatty liver?
Yes it can.
A Fibrascan can detect how much fat is in your liver as well as what stage of distress your liver is in
The liver is never irreparable... it regenerates.. but. It takes 7 years

When you did keto did you do high fibre keto or more like carnivore/fat diet?
it literally just comes down to obesity, fast food is a cancer on America. Think about what you're funding, you're rewarding fast food when you go there, to kill yourself, and other Americans, or wherever you are. It's incredibly inspirational, and hard to lose weight, but you won't lose it unless you stop going to get food made for you, and learn to make it yourself, and do some cardio DAILY. If you are struggling to lose weight, implement 15-30 minutes of cardio every day, do it for a week, and you'll make progress. Sometimes it takes 2 weeks, but push hard, find something that makes you feel good, it's out there. I grew up biking, found I hated it, took it up with a punching bag, changed my life. I have type 1 diabetes, I'm losing weight for the first time in decades. You'll figure it out, but you need to challenge yourself.
Why don’t you recommend a Sonography which gives the position whether Liver is fatty. Whether liver is seriously affected You can also suggest MRI. Why you don’t do this Is it because you want to sell your products
Do you have a gut? Doesyour stomach hang?
