As a former chief psychologist of a state prison system, I found it very common that psychopathic murderers claim to forget or blackout when it came to discussing details of those they killed. Some claimed temporary insanity, various rationalizations.

the bf had a rock solid alibi what were they thinking? if i were him i would have just been like, "why are you asking about my temper if you know it's physically impossible that i did this?"
Yeah why would police help cover for an illegal farm hand where he was paid under the table using a pseudonym? Iowa would probably go bankrupt if they had to get rid of all their cheap, illegal help that comes from across the border.
Nah It looks to me like they were doing their due diligence. If you have a suspect, they have to be eliminated, so if you don't go through every process to eliminate them, you're not doing your job.
As someone who has lived in Iowa the past 10 years, something like this happening is almost unheard of. Everyone here is so nice and minds their own business. I remember hearing this on the news like it was yesterday and is still heartbreaking.
That's the point, but if you notice most of the people who watch these videos are women, they're obsessed with it, they watch every video. They live in fear of this kind of thing happening to themselves, and they think by constantly obsessing over it, they're accomplishing something.

An impartial jury, hearing all the evidence, is the only thing that stands between you and a police state that abuses you. Be glad you live in a democracy with a properly functioning criminal-justice system.
The system is rotten. It should be like this: if constitutional rights were violated, the violator gets prosecuted, and punished, but the evidence uncovered remains admissible.

Someone make sense of this. If you get questioned by the cops about a murder you didn't commit then why wouldn't you tell them the same story when they asked him what happened? If 2 other guys forced him then why not just tell them that from the jump?
Nobody bought his masked men story. He's very obviously guilty. False confessions don't lead to bodies. Especially in rural Iowa. There's millions of acres of fields, wood lots, back roads ect. She wouldn't have been found until harvest at best. Either some farmer would find her in his field while he's harvesting or hunters might find her in the fall. Otherwise she's not going to be found unless the killer brings you there.

But if you look closely at the case, how did Rivera actually grab her so quickly, stab her and put her in the trunk, if she was running to begin with. Couldn’t this monster also be charged with perjury for his fabricated story while on the witness stand? 🤔 Also, those criminal defense lawyers are scumbags for creating a false narrative and blaming their client’s heinous and ruthless murder of Mollie on her grieving ex.

Speaking broken English (or any language that isn't your native language) to someone in a casual setting is completely different than trying to speak broken English in a setting where every word you say is held under scrutiny. I know hundreds of words in Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese, and I could probably scribble some sentences together if I was speaking to someone who spoke those languages, but put me in an interrogating room in any country where those are the official languages, and you bet I'm asking for an English translator and speaking direct English.
He would have to know some. Just from being around locals, that are his bosses at work. Then there's the fact that most Iowans don't speak Spanish so he would need to know basic English to be able to do any shopping or dining. Point being he would need to know basic English to get by. I doubt he would know enough to be able to communicate during an interrogation though.
Half of these crime documents say “people in this small town leave their doors unlocked.” By golly it doesn’t matter how big or small your town is people, evil is everywhere, lock your daggum doors!

Yeah why would police help cover for an illegal farm hand where he was paid under the table using a pseudonym? Iowa would probably go bankrupt if they had to get rid of all their cheap, illegal help that comes from across the border.

Nobody bought his masked men story. He's very obviously guilty. False confessions don't lead to bodies. Especially in rural Iowa. There's millions of acres of fields, wood lots, back roads ect. Otherwise she's not going to be found unless the killer brings you there.

Lawyers don't choose their clients, especially when they are court appointed. They have to do their best even when they know the client is guilty. They're not even necessarily really trying to win.
