I used to live in the same building as him! After I found out I did a bunch of research and found out that TWO of his victims went missing while we lived there! It still gives me chills that we probably walked past him multiple times. For some reason my family doesn’t really care but apparently a lot of messed up stuff happened while we were there.
Honestly, I think this would make for really good inspiration for a thriller/horror movie, starring a killer with two visages, from his perspective. Looking at him anybody would swear he's straight and devoted to his wife, the kids would also love sitting on his lap and ask for xmas gifts while he poses as Santa... But the other half of the flick, having a more dark photography and dizzy pace, would show him as a ruthless predator, preying on refugees, drug users and married men on the closet, all creepily dependent of him, both materially and affectively... I watched Apocalypse Now, recently, and this duality reminds me of this quote about the two parts cohabiting within the same man, with the one who kills and the one who loves...
I'm certain that he was a beautiful earthling. The really sad thing is that it took the death of a big character like that to set the wheels in motion to arrest that evil thing.
That started Bruce's downfall, thankfully. It is sad to say, but investigating about profiles which are nearly completely removed from the society, like drug users or emigrants with irregular situation, isn't a walk in the park. That Santa picture of him was nightmare fuel.

That started Bruce's downfall, thankfully. It is sad to say, but investigating about profiles which are nearly completely removed from the society, like drug users or emigrants with irregular situation, isn't a walk in the park. Even closeted men make sure to make no wave. Andrew, on the other hand, was a well integrated socialite who fully accepted himself as he was. I guess if you ignore criminals they aren't there is the police's philosophy. I see the police protect criminals not innocent, hardworking, taxpaying citizens. I help pay their wages by paying taxes yet they protect criminals who make their living illegally and pay no taxes! Go figure, democracy at work.
I am friends with people who actually knew theae victims.. at least a few of them.. and the rumors were not of serial killer they were of honor killings because the victims were all closeted muslims. I actually also knew Bruce 18 years ago.
This guy would be great for Dexter’s table.

And the Pedo cannibal dude too!
I don't see the attraction to the show Dexter. Sick society...

If the police were watching him so closely, how’d he get this guy in his house and almost to the point of death?? This whole case is full of amazing police work… 🙄
Exactly my question.
Thanks to people like you who bad mouth police constantly, they don't want to do their jobs anymore. And i don't blame them.
@@shauncasey8295 lmao snowflake police can't handle criticism? Any other profession still does their job despite braindead conservatives constantly bombarding them with verbal abuse.
To be fair, it's way easier to solve the case when you already have all the info and answers. Much easier looking back saying "they should have done this and that". Could things have been done differently? Definitely. It's not as easy as the armchair UA-cam cops think
@@cvijet22 did you take personal offense to the question? 🙄 They were already watching him. So it’s not “what if” or “after the fact” They were literally watching him before and during the time the victim was in his house. Obviously they weren’t doing a very good job. I know common sense isn’t so common, but one could easily come to that conclusion considering the details.

The abandoned animals gives this case an even sadder tone. A puppy who lost their master, birds who died because their father never came home, a cat left alone without food or water... Heartbreaking. If I ever get animals, I'll be sure to notify a friend whenever I go out. Don't want my sweeties to be left without someone in the event I get murdered or something.
Yeah, hey, how bout the actual people that died? Who cares about the animals?
I think it’s sweet to be thinking of the animals too.
@@jamesduncan6729 they’re not mutually exclusive. Most people who aren’t sociopaths are capable of empathy for both people and animals. At the same time. Plus, the comment indicated that the abandoned animals added a sadder dimension to an already sad story. To suggest that you’re somehow unable to care about people because you also care about animals is just brain dead.
@@jamesduncan6729 oh, and in answer to your question “who cares about animals?” The murder victims whose pets they were. The cat was described as “his beloved cat.” The puppy was loved and constantly photographed by its murdered owner. The birds would not have been left uncared for if their owner had been able to help it. They cared about the creatures who were dependent on them.
Yes, I agree. As the victims’ beloved dependent pets, they too became victims.

Anyone else stuck on those poor birds that died? That just makes all of this so much sadder
As another comment pointed out - They all seemed to be animal lovers, just makes this much sadder as you said, and the fact they were seeking a better life to be who they were. :\
Not really, considering all the shit that happens, especially due to capitalism. I could not care less about a few dead animals when a handful of people exploit entire countries to maximize their profits. That I find sad.

Well I say those are coward serial killers. They know. They pick those types because they know it'll be awhile before they are found out. It takes a office or detective that cares; that looks as them as what they are..... people that have been missing and more than likely killed.

He was a traveling salesman. Just saying.
That’s what the guy was saying. Whether or not there had been previous victims we will never know about. It’s pretty likely.
if a woodchuck,,,, seriously tho, he seems to have started taking those pills from dr. quack, it was mentioned and then the killing began - in the early 80s I recall a lot of prozac stories in the news, now it gets surpressed. Maybe the overlords find it a good culling tool.
@@RawOlympia
- Or maybe the Prozac just happened to coincide with the time "the killing began" (if that's even verifiable or true). As in, it was just a coincidence.
- Or maybe the idea that his murders began only after he started taking Prozac is just a misconception and not entirely accurate. The dude was a traveling salesman; for all we know, he could've been killing well before he ever started taking that medication.
- Or maybe instead of Prozac being used as some kind of "culling tool", maybe it's just the nature of complex SSRI medications and other similar depression meds that deal with chemical balancing in the brain and that those extreme side effects are just an unfortunate, but relatively rare case for certain individuals.
And BTW, there are plenty of more reliably effective and efficient ways of culling the population, if the "overlords" (as you call them) wanted to go about doing so. Them doing it by means of one type of depression med that some people _might maybe_ be prescribed and actually take, sounds like some really hacky made for TV sci-fi dystopian screenplay. So needlessly convoluted and nonsensical, lmao.
Seriously, that particular conspiratorial notion of culling a population is so laughably riddled with holes that listing them would probably take hours to go through. *Here's just one: *
We live in a hyper-capitalistic world centered around consumerism, for the most part. The world is effectively run by a relative few number of mega-corporations (and the mega-wealthy individuals/families tied to them respectively) who aspire for endless growth of capital and are constantly vying for more consumers and a larger customer base. How would killing off massive swathes of a population of consumers be good or acceptable for business, when even the tiniest fraction of profit-loss or lack of quarterly growth is unthinkable for them? The whole culling thing makes zero sense and is so divorced from cold, harsh reality. *_Some conspiracy theories are actually worth considering; this ain't one of them...._*
@@donnydogpiss4533 Thank you for your reasoned and prosaic or should I say prozaic, response? Of course, in the big conspiracy game, it is all death by a thousand cuts. You don't just lose the population in a war, or with crack, or AIDs, or Cheetos (the child kidney thing with the dust cheese and chems...and yes, it would be a mighty bold one on the courtroom stage, though less has been used to accomplish more, say, the Twinkie defense. What I could say to you perhaps, and this is from my under the rock life as a corporate legal proofreader/editor on Wall St. before escaping, who has dabbled somewhat in gov't/military waters, I have found this: that the civilians as it were are darn tootin' evangelical when it comes to their trust in greedy comapanies and their slimy political counterparts. To put 20 yrs into a nutshell: there are no nannies up top, just a lot of Epstein types, ok? And they love to unleash chaos knowingly, for either profit or enjoyment. I spent Christmas in the mid 90s working in the hexachloraphene (sic) case, where the company (J&J?) knew the chem was killing preemies and crossing the blood/brain barrier but continued to sell it to hospitals for decades. They knew it was lethal in the 1950s. Of course life itself is dangerous, you can slip on banana peels get bumped off by whizzing cabs. But the prozac thing is quite real, terrible things happen to people on it, their own label says it can make people suicidal. Sidenote: In the east village in the 90s a guy who walked around in smoking jackets and gold lame pants told everyone that prozac was made by the gov't to essentially park people, and he had been put on it, but he found the master key to unlock it, in that Biblical sense, where man meant it for bad but God meant it for good, remember that story? Just take a few hits of LSD with it, and you will be fine. Many meows.
