    Hi Capt... Nice tutorial! With the 2014 Yamaha 300, I have to remove two bolts that hold a metal cover plate, then un-plug the same wire (it's for the water-in-fuel sensor). But I have to use the special notched tool to get the filter off. (Yours came off very easy by hand!) The first time that filter was changed by the Yamaha tech, he crossed threaded the filter housing, and gasoline was leaking out of the engine. I do it myself now, and I change it every 100 hours. Like yours, the old one looks as clean as a brand new one. I guess we are getting our gasoline from a good company!.... I look forward to all of your videos!

      So sorry that you had to go through that with your fuel filters change at the dealer that's why sometimes I do my own stuff on the engine because we take more pride in our work especially because the boat is ours that's why I did not send my book back to the manufacturer for being one and a half inch crooked to get it fixed cuz I know they were going to do a bad job by redoing the boat.
      Is sad the way we get service this days

    Do as much stuff as you can because the dealer will charge you top $$$ for their service! As far as changing filters and other things, The best way is to keep a maintenance log, But I do mine yearly here in Maryland our season is only 6 or 7 months long So I do mine when I winterize so it's all ready to go in the spring! Thanks for sharing!

    • @OutOnTheReef

      That's a great idea captain and wow Maryland it gets pretty cold up there so you probably have to use some fuel stabilisation on your fuel tank

    Ones in a while I ad Fuel stabilizer to my boat's tank. Sea is a ruff place, moisture, salt and water might creap into the tank want it or not. It dont hurt to ad some and it keeps fuel safe. Even if you have filters to protect engine, adding it to fuel will keep it burning well and keeping gas millage. Keep safe cap.

      Thanks captain and you're right I use seafoam every time I fill my tank to keep my fuel stabilized and free of water.
      Thanks for the great suggestion captain

    • @robb1460
      @robb1460 4 роки тому +1

      @@OutOnTheReef This using seafoam? Is not an each time 100 gal fill-up treatment the tank needed. Put in a Gas only water separator in fuel-line. Check that on fill time to see if water is in bowl. It does little to use seafoam all the time. Seafoam works more on diesel and 2- storke applications . And you need Nitrogen addictive cleaners for cleaning motor anyway.

      @@OutOnTheReef Okay here's the thingy and it a long post. Water can only get into a boat tank in three ways. You pump it in water from where you fill-up. E-10-gas ethanol covert air in tank into water. Or the seal "O" ring is bad or you did not close it fully. And rain or seawater splash on it run down in. Where is the filler point on your boat? Is it on the gunwale expose to water hitting it? Or in the cockpit floor? I have this and did not like on gunwales. cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-6rtev5owwo/images/stencil/500x659/products/217389/101746/S-D-351320-1_lg__62780.1558119841.jpg?c=2&imbypass=on

      Just moved the hose to there. The above original top gunwale gas filler caps I clamped the bottom up so no one can fill at that point in error. The pump nozzal won't go in. If I sell the boat and they can use it again by moving the hose back.
      Review this video on seafoam. ua-cam.com/video/cC4hlcZz5DM/v-deo.html If the tank does not fully drain at a bottom point the water stays in tank really.
      The only real way to get all water out of the tank is to run tank empty/ drain last gas somehow. Put a clean air hose down in tank fill point for a few days to dry it out up out fill cap.
      As the F200 Fuel filter on the motor is somewhat clear to see fuel. You would see water at the bottom of the filter that bowl if water was an issue from the tank.
