Expat here. Glick's are the closest I can find to a traditional NY style bagel. You have to get them fresh from the bakery - not the supermarket. They have mini ones too!
Ashleigh , loving your exploration of Melbourne. My suggestion for your blank wall is this. If you have any favourite old T - shirts with a cartoon etc. That is getting past the wearable stage, cut from down go to a second hand store, buy some old framed prints and frame your favourite shirt.i have a wall in my place decorated in this way .keep up the good work. From Mick.D. P.S. why don't you visit Young and Jackson's hotel over the road from Flinders Street station ,have a pint and see Chloe.
IT is not just the central CBD, Melbourne is vast wide spread. Difference character suburb to suburb. Different cultures, ethic diversity, on and on. Look atcHign Street Thornbury. THE BEST LIVE MUSIC AND GREAT VENUES IN AUSTRALIA. Listen to the vast non commercial radio 3pbs 106.7 and 3RRR. Hobart had nothing like it. They are listener funded stations with volunteers running it. They give you a sense of real community. Their efforts makes you feel like you belong in Melbourne but it is vast diversity of music from all around the world. You would like Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale, Geelong and Point Nepean.
You should try giving Luna an empty toilet roll. Just the cardboard bit. One of my cats likes playing with it and smacking it around to chase. Also Kmart has good cheap toys and stuff too.
Really like Bailey’s 2nd last print (the fun fair circles ) and really like your first print. Frame & hang yes but you could also have bed linen like a Quilt cover or even rolls of personally designed wallpaper made using those designs. I guess your renting so wallpaper won’t be worth it but maybe one day. Some wallpaper stores will do wallpaper in your design -provide them a HD JPEG File of your design idea & they’ll do rolls of woteva quantity you want - not cheap of course but still …
Try the Liddells range. They do a really good grated cheese too. I find a lot of Aussie lactose free stuff is far better than some other countries so try em out girl!
@@maude1111I’ve not seen Liddell’s lactose free cream cheese at Woolworths in Sydney but will now look for it, thanks. 😊 I have Liddell’s tasty cheese slices which are good, also those made by the Bega brand. The slices are a bit finer which can be handy sometimes. I grew up two hours from the town of Bega and their factory shop had excellent milk and cheese.
Bagels are an American/ European thing. You'll find that 90% of Aussies don't eat them. We eat mostly crumpets, English muffins and different types of sliced breads, especially if it's for breakfast. I presume most Americans eat bagels as a morning meal.
Melbourne still looks beautiful grey, rainy & cold! Your bfs marble painting was beautiful and gave me missioni vibes! Great vlog!
thank you!!
I have been told the best Bagels in Melbourne come from Glicks Bakery. Glicks has three shops that are still run by the founder Mendal Glick family.
on my list to try!
Glad to see you enjoying yourself. There's so much to do in Melbourne. It's almost spring and the city comes alive
yes!! thank you
Melbourne in mid winter evenings reminds me of the opening of Blade Runner - fog, rain and masses of neon lights.
I haven't seen neon in this city for good twenty years!
I agree with other commentator. Glicks is meant to be the best, heard a positive review buy a New York food reviewer on the ABC Radio..
good to know! thank you
Loved this! The bagel analysis was illuminating. Marble workshop was beautiful 😍
thank you! i feel like i could talk about bagels for hours 🤣🤣

Dinner in Melbourne, Richmond via the tram. Vietnamese, Greek, Japanese. Burgers seems so pedestrian, and Id never eat a hit dog, eewww.
good burgers are good burgers
Now l know what a thumbnail is..some colourful buildings from Vic market side of the buildings .

Oh that’s so fun! Thanks for sharing! I hope you can track it down somewhere local! I think it’s a great option! Good luck 😊
Misable Melbourne...weather. South East Queensland has more comfortable weather.
too hot in queensland!
@@coffeeenut i agree we get very hot Summers, I hear that in Melbourne u can get 4 different seasons in one day
i can’t do heat so ill take all the seasons instead!
No way! I'll visit the sun but prefer to live in the shade.
I love Melbourne weather. We get a decent winter where we can rug up and spring here is glorious
