Demon Days is in a league of its own
👍
one of the best pop albums of all time, I don't know how longer it'll be til people realize. the use of texture and how many sounds it manages to effortlessly blend together is mindblowing in general, let alone for 2005
@@xbenci I know right that's why I think he did it dirty in this video what was that comparison to Paramore?
Feel Good Inc. definitely gets played more often in public than Misery Business.
I’m actually surprised to see Demon Days on this just because it was a different world of music. Scene people or people into metalcore/pop punk liked most of these albums, or a few of them.
Feel Good Inc. was a massive mainstream hit.
It sucks that so many Gorillaz songs got so overplayed that no one pays attention to the rest of their amazing music. I personally like All Alone better than Feel Good Inc. but that’s probably just me
“If they’re a lady band, then call me a woman” i already love you
Never got too into PTV until this last year, and collide with the sky is one of the best albums ive heard
Same with me but their music is awesome
Same! Except I've had Selfish Machines on repeat for almost 12 months now, I'm obsessed with how good the songwriting is
transition from may these noises startle you in your sleep tonight to hell above is fucking immaculate
How do you feel about Misadventures?
Afftd is also amazing
we need a modern day isles and glaciers
Ls dunes?
ls dunes
@@heartbreakinstreo i mean like with multiple singers
The sound of animals fighting?
@@RESTONI24bro that band slaps hard
8:36 i believe paramode actually stopped playing misery business live because hayley hated the message of the song and it really did Not age well
They started playing it again recently
@@PeteyThePenguin yeah i heard and that's cool, i guess hayley made peace with the song
@@PeteyThePenguinThey never technically stopped playing it. They retired it after they were finished with the After Laughter tour and were on hiatus.
yeah, i saw them earlier this summer and they played misery business. hayley just doesn't sing the one the line she's uncomfy about which seemed like a good compromise for them to keep playing it / the band perform it on their terms
@@etzee666i saw someone bitch about misery business being played again
Misery Business has been back in the setlist for a while now
Yeah I know, just thought it was a good example of how much the song has been played
@@VIIZZZYY They didn’t stop playing it because of how often they played it. They stopped playing it for awhile because people on Twitter said it was sexist. Haley Williams has addressed it on stage
@@ryanshinermusic twitter had nothing to do with it. they just didn't identify with its lyrics anymore
I still go back and listen to Suicide Season all the time. One of my favorite BMTH albums. But its also tough for me to really pick a BMTH album I like the most because I've loved just about every album tbh.
i was expecting an mcr album to be on here. all of mcr’s stuff aged great and i listen to it way to often
"How often do you hear a Gorillaz song playing in public?"
That's funny because my local alternative station plays "Feel Good Inc." and "Clint Eastwood" fairly frequently (they actually don't play Paramore as much as you'd expect). I would say that "Feel Good Inc." is easily on par with "Misery Business" in terms of pop appeal.
Is it possible for an album to not age well and still have many great songs on it? I think so!
Collide with the Sky aged great fr
My all bangers album is Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, every song feels so 2000s but re-listening every song is an expierience and if you accompany it with the debut EP it’s jut gold
i never had emo friends and was like a little kid when during the scene era so i’m so glad when i can learn sth abt bands and albums here
I'm a new Isles and Glaciers fan (I actually found the band through your channel) and honestly, I adore it. I already love Vic Fuentes, I swear everything he touches is golden, and I had started listening to Chiodos shortly before IAG. Johnny Craig (as you have said before) has the voice of an Angel. I admit, the songs can be a bit slow, but omg, I am just obsessed with this album. I love Clush, and I could listen to Viola Lion for hours.
Maybe I am also just enamored with all the big names, but this album is golden and I would love to see a second album from them, though I am fairly certain that will (unfortunately) never happen
thumbnail gotta be clickbait cus all those records are still insane lmao
Yeah it was lmao
@@VIIZZZYYthat’s against terms of service there buddy
Tangled in the great escape is an incredible song, I think not all of the album has to go with that post hardcore upbeat vibe, tangled is a more melodramatic cut, and I think it stands on its own, really good arrangements and structure
Telling myself that vizzys facial hair can’t hurt me 🫣
It will if you get too close 😤😤
Nah the Demon days take was wild I feel like that album age well all the music still holds up and is so nostalgic you could say yeah we don’t rlly hear those songs being played but like ppl still talk about the album it’s good
You really did need to be there for Isles & Glaciers the hype around that was insane in my circle
Finally someone talking about how good DGD are🤘🏻
Dude I LOVE dgd
#8: Pierce the Veil- Collide With the Sky (2011)
#7: Dance Gavin Dance- Downtown Battle Mountain I (2007)
#6: Bring Me the Horizon- Suicide Season (2008)
#5: A Day to Remember- Homesick (2009)
#4: Never Shout Never- Harmony (2010)
#3: Paramore- Riot! (2007)
#2: Gorillaz- Demon Days (2005)
#1: Isles & Glaciers- The Hearts of Lonely People (2012)
Collide with the sky has remained one of my favorite albums of all time even after my emo phase
ay vizzy your back!
Also Downtown battle mountain is still one my favorite post hardcore albums ever
Loved being in chat during the listening parties for this vid glad to see it out now
I appreciate your support 🖤🧡 truly means a lot to have you and the gang in my chat
i'm 16 but i adore most of these albums so much (especially downtown battle mountain, suicide season, collide with the sky, and the hearts of lonely people) it really makes me wish i was born earlier so i couldve enjoyed it at its peak:( i didnt ever get to experience warped tour or anything like that and i feel like i missed out so much
i've seen pierce the veil and bring me the horizon plus i'm seeing dance gavin dance next month but i feel like its not the same as it was. especially since bmth hardly play any of their old stuff, nevermind anything off suicide season or there is a hell
Theres a difference between something aging well and something being popular
Suicide Season is one of my favorite bmth records. I'm big into heavy and even brutal music, so I can go back to back with heavy tunes.
Also ADTR and PTV are great.
Love paramore but Demon days is miles better and it’s not even close
I wasn’t gonna say it but ty
Yeah had the same feeling with CWTS. Tangled in the great escape isn’t bad but it feels like someone slammed on the breaks after speeding at 160mph for the first half
You’re wrong about DBM, YOU’RE WRONG
actually recently went to a Paramore concert and they played Misery Business, now idk if they play it at every show but they have since played it after that interview where they said they would stop playing it live at least once and I was a grateful witness
Idk if this has been said before but you kind of carry Mista GG energy and I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers. Here from 7K baybee and can't wait to see 1M+
Im praying for the day , you or any of the others that talk abt that style of music , are gonna make a video about Get Scared , how they started more poppy and then just got heavier with Demons , then theres the Joel stuff ofc but besides that this band is just amazing
My man, I fell in love with your videos the other day. Subscribed even. I’ll still stay subscribed because your content is great.
Buuuuuutttt… Saying that, DGD will ALWAYS be held in a higher regard than PTV. No matter what. No. Matter. What.
every single one of pierces the veils albums are fucking AMAZINGGGG. they have absolutely 0 bad songs. no skips. absolutely fucking in love with them. vic sounds the the exact same in person as he does on cd it’s insane
Cemetery weather was my favourite song off that album, use to play it when I couldn't sleep. Hearing Craig Owens version of it made me love it even more.
Isles and glaciers in general was just sooo good, they made every warped tour kid happy haha
100% agree with your assessment of Collide with the Sky. Holds up so well and the beginning blows your face off, but yeah I don’t care for Tangled in the Great Escape. Usually a skip.
I listen to prog metal and jazz but say that demon dayz aged like wine bruh what are you in?
Keep making videos these are awesome
Oi wheres stand up and scream dudeeee , thats like my fav album of all time(ik it didnt age well cuz the lyrics are cringe af but i still think it should had gotten a mentuon here)
Ok I don’t listen to Gorillaz anymore but Demon Days in the thumbnail scared me lmao, ik that album is still peak
Ughh adtr homesick is SO good. Have faith in me makes me cry every time 😭
Yooo i remember the streams it finally came outtt
Paramore does play misery business live. It was briefly retired a few years ago. They’ve played it on their recent tour and festivals.
“Ptv is a girls band 😡😡” I’m a 14 year old boy and ptv has me in a chokehold atp I love them sm (especially vic) also I love most of the albums on this list lmao
i joined one stream of this guy and im still scarred from the body wash incident
Gonna need you to make a video like this about the SadBoi Era of Pop Punk! I’ll be in your twitch chat talking about hating our hometown, shitty tumblr edits, pizza, sleepy eyes and boney knees
Funny you mention that era , next weeks video is about pop punk (;
I'll fully admit I still fucking love sadboi pop punk
@@VIIZZZYY I’ll make sure to pull out my old flannels and snapbacks for that one 😂🔥 My only question is, are you going to mention Major League? Their first 3 albums/EP are underrated!!
@@emmyrose233 Honestly!! Think I fell in love with that era listening to The Story So Far in 2011. You?
I need a source for this image at 5:24 please
One depressing album that didnt age well but good: Tyler Joseph's lone album before he joined TOP "No Phun Intended" in his song "I Want to Know" he talks about wanting to commit suicide, but he pushed through and is still alive today, 15 years later.
I'mma not agree with that "You don't hear Gorrilaz as much as Paramore." Statement. Feel Good Inc. and Dare, (more Feel Good Inc.) Are everywhere on the radio, in supermarkets, and in the mall. Hell I heard it playing at my local Spencer's recently.
Paramore, I'm not the biggest fan, and Gorrilaz, I've been slipping out of lately, but in my opinion they're on equal turf, Paramore is just more popular on emo nights.
Also, Gorrilaz in my opinion, and in my experience with introducing people to them, are super easy to get into, their early stuff especially. It's super catchy, and some of those songs are absolute classics, to the point where I'd argue that Gorillaz's most popular song, Feel Good Inc. Is more popular than Misery Business.
But hey, that's just me. I'm more of a goth, and metal guy than a emo guy. So I might be wrong.
2:00 poor choice of words lmfao 😭💀😂✋🏻
tangled in the great escape was one of my favorites
demon days has aged so much better than riot. clearly you're more invested in the emo scene but regular people are more likely to be into demon days, especially given the popularity of rap and the resurgence of disco influence in pop music
Ben 10 fuckin ROCKS
whaaattttt Suicide Season holds up very well
3:07 As a Black Metal fan, I feel personally attacked
Collide with the sky, still a great listen; even 11 or so years after i bought the cd on release: 9/10 still rotates my playlist past my emo prime.
Never listened to DGD.
Suicide season: i still really like a lot of it, and go back to the title track a LOT, still holds up for me but not the while album. 5/10
Didnt get into ADTR.
Never shout never: whew, theres some good songs but not a lot; still adore coffee and cigarettes. 2/10 wouldn't go back to it much or optionally.
Riot: it was an early start for me, but im not really into them anymore, preferred flyleaf then and still now. 4/10 (sorry)
Demon Days: not my favorite gorillaz album but absolutely a 10/10
I honestly didnt know about the last one even existing.
after listening to all 8 albums
you get to listen to the elite 4 albums
I never listened to DGD - Downtown Battle Mountain until like 2018 (I never listened to DGD at all until then actually) & I have the CD in my car, probably in the stereo rn lol so Ima have to disagree, but that’s okay. Album fucking slaps. I rly like bands like AnimalJam, Adventurer & Coletta but DBM is rly just sumn else. It’s so full of energy. Prefer it to anything they’ve done with Tilian although I do like a lot of their newer stuff as well.
downtown battle mountain soooo holds up what do u meannnnnnn
To this day downtown battle mountain best album still listen to today idgaf what people say
MFZB by zebrahead is still a banger today. i regularly go back to that album
broadcast to the world by zebrahead and roots rock riot and babylon by skindred are also albums i go back to listen to every now and then
tangled in the great escape is amazing wdym
suicide season is a banger BUT
bmth released There is a Hell after and HOLY SHIT i love that album. i only got into them in late 2020 so i have no real nostalgia attached to them but i think bmth has so much more to offer than what suicide season brought to the table
You’d have to pry my Suicide Season CD from these cold. dead. hands.
Ok I understand if my opinion ain't valid because I wasn't there when it dropped (im 18) but Isles and glaciers didn't miss on that album. You got tracks like hills like white elephants, clush, and viola lion that no one from any scene can skip that album was straight heat
Ya know...just put Pierce the Veil in the thumbnail, and I'm HERE
If this isn't Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows at the end I'll be satisfied because "he doesn't get it" - I opined, listening to what he was saying before I realised he wasn't talking about DRUGS
I’ll forever listen to NSN 😮
This list is valid
YOU’RE valid 😤😤🧡🖤
Suicide Season is such a good album tho!
collide with the sky is still the best PTV album idc.
how the hell is 10 years ago considered old school now?!
Where are Of Mice & Men at???
who else was here to watch this man listen to these on stream
Yes!!
mrow
I still listen to ptv isles and glaciers' and Gorillaz to this very day lol
paramore slays.
😬 You have a platform and had a slight criticism about anything Paramore has done. Expect to be called a misogynist in a month if she ever finds out. I'm no PTV fan but I've heard collide with the sky and it's unfair to group that with this other stuff lol The closer was the best song too. I don't really see the whole first half/second half thing.
Great video, love you
Let’s be honest pierce the veil makes the power puffs girls look like samurai Jack lol
“You don’t wanna be listening to a song and or sounders like a microwave is blasting through your headphones”
Me listening to shitty produced dsbm bands on UA-cam 💀
Bro tangled in the great escape was my favorite track from that album 😂
Also, nevershoutnever was ALWAYS cringe. Just because I'm the only one who seemed to realize it doesn't mean it was just "a different time," that shit was AWFUL.
Dispensaries play Gorillaz a ton in my experience lmao
Aye, man, Tangled in the Great Escape was really good, not the strongest song on the album, but leagues better than Glass Stained Eyes and First Punch. A Hundred Sleepless Nights was way too catchy for no reason XD
Suicide Season and Demon Days are on my top ten, but MCR's Danger Days should have been an honorable mention on this list. A lot of the songs were a miss...
WHATTTTT? How is tangled in the great escape better than stained glass eyes and colourful tears?!
Looks like we gotta rank every song on the album 😤😤
Hey woah stained eyes and first punch were fucking amazing
collide with the sky was so godtier
I like my Ben 10 too
Common Mario W
I AM THE REALEST! SEE YOU IN THE PIT DAWG
i'm here for demon days, so glad the most emo shit i had in high school was the smashing pumpkins, how embarrassing this must be for y'all
Suicide season was good though
I fw you vizzy but the titles a little off?
Yurr
Why does this dude always have subway surfers in the background? It makes my eyes hurt
because tiktok fucked up almost everyone's attention spam and they can't watch a video longer than 30 seconds without constant editing
A Fever You Can't Sweat Out by Panic! At the Disco. Brendan's voice is underdeveloped at its best and bad at its worst. Ryan's lyrics are very overwritten, and the electronic elements on the first half of the album aged poorly.
Honestly dude... you need to listen to some better music. I'm not even a zoomer but there's still some older metalcore that still holds up (Architects - All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us for example).
But older metal is still relevant like a lot of 90's era Black Metal or classic Post Hardcore bands like Neurosis. Or fucking older outlaw country like Townes Van Zandt (that's classic and even metal heads love that shit).
Also what's wrong with screaming/harsh vocals for an entire album. Sometimes the anger is needed.
I never said anything was wrong with screaming/harsh vocals lmao
Bro, start this video with that title, and the first album that pops is Collide with the sky… nice joke
What lmao
