- We know emo nights are just 80's nights for millennials, so we thought it was time we updated the classic song "1985" as a parody for all the emo kids out there. We think this one will be more fun to play now that we can relate. We hope you enjoy and share!, and let us know if you'd like to hear it at one of our upcoming shows!

As somebody who went from this exact person to looking like J Crew threw up on me at 35, this made me laugh WAY harder than I expected. I gotta say I also did not expect this level of catchy or this high of a production value when I stumbled upon this song. Very well done! Ties in well with Story of the Year's recent single "2005".
I find it funny 1985 came out in 2004, 19 years later. 19 years after 2004 is...well it's today!

I'm lowkey a little upset about missing the original wave of emo music bc I actually love this genre. Sucks that I was born just late enough to not be able experience it firsthand.
It was quite the time, but it is back and lots of good artists to catch up on and new ones coming out! We will have an original project out this year as well!

Just realized the bands costume.. is based on different styles of "Emo" in 2005 with a slight twist

Good catch, not necessarily from that song specifically, but the whole song we used different styles from different bands of the era.

Good charlotte was good till around 4th cd. They turned into a weird christian band. Early GC was good though. They were the reason I became who I am now around 2000
Yeah, follow up albums are hard especially when you have great breakthroughs.
Back then everyone had flat hair, I remember thinking everyone's hair looked greasy, and heavy. But yes the 2000's are the 80s for GenZ. Just like the 80s and 90s are for Millennials and the 1960s and 1970s are for Generation X and the 1950s are for Baby Boomers.

Haha, while it is based on the Grand Theft Autumn riff, it is not quite the same, but good ear! The answer to both questions are in the "ear" of the beholder. I know I have my own answers, but they are not that for everyone. What do you think?

Is emo the same thing we called goth back in the 90's?
Goth and Emo are different but adjacent. Much more poppy and happier sounding rock in emo than in goth.
There are a few of these parodies with this song about 2005 and one followed up in 2015.....very funny to say the least. Very funny to see you guys switch is up for being Emo.
