the story so far released a new song the other day, its called big blind
edit: also some of the wonder years easycore stuff is on sleeping on trash
@@tysonwastaken i recorded this before the single came out hahaha
The Story So Far is 1000 times better than Neck Deep, it’s okay to be wrong
Wouldn't say they're that much better because I really dig a few of neck deep songs, but the story so far last few releases have been bomb af, and a great mix of genres, and I agree they're better than neck deep, neck deep should add some heaviness to their songs 🎵
Sorry, WHAT DID YOU SAY???????
Neck Deep are better live though 👀
Before discovering pop punk, and just punk in general, Green Day were amazing, but after being well immersed into the genre, they feel like the Metallica of punk. They're considered top tier by the mainstream, but they're not all that special compared to the other bands in that genre.
This is such an accurate description
@@USHARDY I'd classify MCR and AFI more in the emo/metal genre, they're amazing though, especially AFI
Green Day’s music has aged really well and they’re easily one of the best live bands around.
The reason why they’re the Metallica of pop punk is because of how many classic songs they wrote.
@@ryanshinermusic never said they weren't. I personally haven't had a single bad live band performance, heck one of the performances I went to had a freaking jazz solo during a metal breakdown (the band was Redhook)
best part bout blink 182 is that on record they've said they just didn't take shit seriously lmfao
Dude if most bands just set the serious meter back the world would be a better place
Finally someone gives state champs the recognition they deserve
Seriously! They’re music is just pure positive energy, with one of the best vocalists out there imo
Don't disagree with the Green Day opinion honestly. The thing with Green Day, is that they just don't really fit in the pop-punk sphere as much as people think. None of their songs sound like what actual pop-punk sounds like. They straight up just played poppier sounding punk (while not actually being pop punk because no one would call the Descendents or the Ramones pop punk) for most of their career. Their debut all the way up to Insomniac and some Nimrod songs are mostly just straight up punk tunes.
So Glad to see Bilmuri get S. Everything that Johnny has done with that band is always so interesting and good no matter how weird it may be.
I agree, it’s so tough to find any BAD Bilmuri song
Had the pleassure of meeting State Champs. Besides them being great performers, they're also really kind guys
Putting The Wonder Years at D-tier and calling them religious is objectively wrong lol
I don’t even care if liking them is subjective. They’re like the whole reason people paid attention to pop punk during the Defend Pop Punk era. It’s like them, Modern Baseball, Man Overboard, The Story So Far and I’m forgetting one or two.
Also Neck Deep came in at the tail end of that era
Where would you put Set Your Goals? You mentioned them, but no rank 🤔
I absolutely love the fact that State Champs made S tier. They just know how to have fun and it shows in their music. Anyone who misses the early days of FOB (Take This to ur Grave specifically) should absolutely check them out. They’ve even covered a song from that album.
Neck Deep was just a watered down The Story So Far until Jeremy McKinnon hopped on board
Please do a similar video about like easycore or post hardcore or even emo in general
Maybe we can make this a series? 👀👀
@@VIIZZZYY yessss
My audible gasp at With Confidence being placed so low durning speed round LOL
The offspring is literally one of the best pop punk bands
And green day to
Bad Habit is one of my favorite Offspring songs!
personally I like the meaning of life
Shorebreak and From States Away you would LOVE
I LOVE FROM STATES AWAY
Would Turnstile technically count? Cause plenty of their songs teeters on the line between punk, metal and psychadellic
Not really, they’re more of a hardcore band
Vizzy, what are your opinions on MGK's pop-punk?
Totally agree on Real Friends and haven’t listened to them since that first single with the new singer. They just sound like a regular band now
The Wonder Years helped a few of these bands blow up. They are S-Tier as far as bands from 2010-2020 go, in my opinion.
I respect them so much, they’ve been around for a while and seeing the bassist of chunk no captain chunk rock a wonder years tee in there music video for friends we trust really showed how connected the scene was at the time
@@VIIZZZYY I still respect your opinion! Just having fun with the conversation. I appreciate your videos @VIIZZZYY !
@@beufordbertrum2004 yeah I know it’s all love 🖤 trust, I’d know if you were tight. A lot of people in my comments make it very clear when there panties is on too tight 🤣
@@VIIZZZYY everyone wants to argue, nobody wants to enjoy the convo 🤙
I'm friends with someone who had one of the guitarists from Abandoned By Bears as his teacher. And he told him why the band broke up and it was because their bassist thought his sister was hot, asked him if it was cool for him to date her and he said no but dated his sister anyway. Which caused the breakup.
Wtf that’s nuts, I assumed they were on a break
The end of every sentence doesn’t need an edit of some kind. Once I noticed it I couldn’t stop. Otherwise, you’ve got the goods. Keep grinding.
I can agree with most points but I man love Bonnie's voice in Stand Atlantic.
Saw them live for the first time recently and it was an awesome experience
Now this is a comment i can get behind
My favorite pop punk bands, sincerely, someone who doesn’t listen too much of this genre.
My Chemical Romance (I don’t see them as pop punk, but my girlfriend said it counts)
A Day to Remember
Sum 41
Green Day
I can imagine a world with ADTR, I haven't listened to them or anything easycore adjacent in literal years
so many good points but how tf can you put the wonder years on the D tier?!
So basically... The Wonder Years are out of their wonder years?
You mentioned basically all the bands I listen to all the time in this video. I enjoyed the video as a result. Nice.
tssf is s tier and wonder years in d tier is illegal. however solid video man haha
Putting The Wonder Years in D-tier should be a criminal offense
The Green Day take is also absolutely wild lol
i knew people wouldnt like it xddd
Yeah I agree with you about Seaway. Also, I worked a State Champs show a few years back. Holy crap it was nuts!
So sick! What did you do?
I don't agree all of your picks. But nevertheless a great video and explanation. I love green day for what they are. A last whisper of punk in the #poppunk Genre.
Dont hurt my heart with The Wonder Years
Belmont are the most unique band of the genre of the last few years, no one sounds like them. They were 100% way better with Sam in the band though, he's such a shredder! Brian on drums is amazing and kills it and Taz is sick with vocals. Magnolia Park are a great addition to the genre.
Neck deep started as a TSSF cover band
I love the content of your videos, however, the back drop makes me motion sick if I actually watch the video. It also gets overly repetitive. Great content those gripes aside :)
Word I think this might be the last time I use it 🤣
With Confidence should be higher and Can’t Swim is very underrated too
Yayyy home team 🔥🔥🔥
I love the home team
I really like all the bands you talked about, and I felt so fucking validated and seen when you put State Champs in S tier. These guys are something else.
And it also kinda hurt to see TWY in D tier, they’re one of my favorite bands ever. But I totally get your point!
Part 2 with Kids Can't Fly and Zebrahead? :3
Green day is so mid
Stand atlantic - underrated
Real friends - underrated
All time low… yikes
Omg putting The Wonder Years in D…I cannot agree, but you’re brave.
Sum 41 is always S tier for me but i can do with A tier. a lil disapointed four year strong is in C tier but i can somewhat get behind it cuz i wish josh lyford was still in the band
Four year strong will always have a solid place in my heart
I'd class Green Day as more punk rock, I love them and I might be biased but to each their own, I don't think anyone should be forced to like music.
Just me standing here hurt by the TWY slander of putting them in D tier.
I agree with the No Closer to Heaven stuff though but D!?
Knucklepuck ?
Green Day are a punk band that plays poppy music.
Blink 182 are a pop band that plays punky music.
Just wanted to put that out there.
Waterparks D? Seriously ? Lol but good video
All time low B?????????
They're solid S teir, specially their early stuff.
The party scene, put up or shut up, so wrong it's right, nothing personal,.
Even dirty work and wake us sunshine is a definitely A
You say it as Waster not WSTR, but that is the best band
I didn’t even know that’s how you say it lmao
I don't think I'd call TSSF pop punk tbh
From a 36 year old i gotta say... hot mulligan A And Green day should be z. Never gave a shit about green day. Hot mulligan however has an amazing catalog!
Dan era real friends is S tier to me
Also cool to see seaway get a positive rep, I love those boys and they are very underrated imo
Definitely. Cody is good as well and I still enjoy their new songs but he sounds like any thin tenor voiced pop punk vocalist and it makes the band sound indifferent.
Aye big up trash boat. Hertfordshire boys 👌
Safe To Say is another example of canadian supremacy with pop punk
For me TSSF is S. But A tier is still very acceptable.
And copacetic is a goated album for me.
Copacetic is REALLY good and gave us a new flavor for the genre, just definitely put me in my winter sad boy feels 🥺
@@VIIZZZYY a great sad boy album indeed
Actually surprised not to see NFG on here. Still some solid opinons and yeah Green Day is mid.
i got so excited when he mentioned waterparks, literally my favorite band
I agree with Green Day 😂
just call them Waster 😭
Sadboi pop punk is 🤮 for me. Personally all those sad bands are F tier for me. Give me some Blink and Set Your Goals. That’s where it’s at!
All the listed bands sound like a cover band of the other
Personally I think green day are the best pop punk band and blink 182 are the worst punk band in general but still good video
I willingly listened to Simple Plan for the first time in 20 years...ooof. It sounds like parody.
LMFAOOOO
I will say, I just saw them and Sum 41 open for The Offspring and Simple Plan surprised me with how good they are live
@@atomicpunk2360 simple plan isn’t bad but just fit the stereotypes heavy lmao
Green Day isn't pop punk god damn it
L takes my dude, not even funny, state champs in S and waterparks in D 🤡
Just my personal taste brother
Great video, but also putting The Wonder Years in D tier might be the worst take of the century❤
🅱️
I tried not to let my bias get in the way, if that was the case damn near everyone would be in S 🤣
@@VIIZZZYY no 🅱️orries hahaha
Every pop punk band is the worst.
hey i watched you make that thumbnail
Get out my closet creep
You’re still young lol give it time. The Wonder Years’ newer stuff will hit when the time comes for you.
The worst pop punk band? ALL OF THEM
Pop punk isn’t for everyone
@@VIIZZZYY meth isn't for everyone either, but some people choose it. Doesn't it make it good ,😂
@@mistermadness9086 the people that use it think it’s good
@@VIIZZZYY here 👑 I can't think of anything funny enough as a comeback 😂
@@mistermadness9086 good battle xoxo
Wooo mew viddd
giving blink S without even mentioning green day is a huge L
Green Day is on this list lmao
@VIIZZZYY should be above blink lol IMO ❤️
@@nikkilynn9122 such a hot take 🤣 this is a good poll idea
Green Day is very mid. I won't turn a cheek if they come on the radio but I can't bring myself to choose to listen to them
all of them are bad
I saw both live TSSF and Neck Deep
The Story So Far kinda sucked but Neck Deep ruled live all three times I saw them, and I'd go see them again. 🥲
