  • Fallout 76 is coming out, and Bethesda is running out of goodwill with the fans. Skyrim seems to be the last great RPG that they made. Have they lost their touch? Are we too spoiled? Let's talk about it.

      Vestlandsguten there is no gambling in this game so ok you could prop buy everything in the shop with cash for less then 50$ prop honestly games like cod and destiny are much worse then fallout 76 will ever be any way I just wanted to commit as I did not and won’t watch the video as I’m tired of seeing them I’m sure it’s no different from the last 45 you tubers spewing the same thing

      Tropic Mix I agree which is why destiny and cod are so bad but in fallout at least you can earn them for free and there just costumes that’s it in which the game already has plenty for free if you just play the game and find em like fallout has always done even some of the paid ones are just laying out in the wasteland for free I have found some I have also earn like 3000 atoms fire free just from playing but ppl like you who don’t know anything about the game and bitch on the sidelines with the bandwagon don’t know any of these things

    The sad thing is that not only will Fallout continue to suffer, but TES isn't getting any better either. You could say "well at least TES is still an RPG", but it's so dumbed down that I wonder if TES6 is just going to be an action/hack and slash title. I enjoyed Skyrim for what it was (and I still enjoy it when I go back every now and then), but man does Bethesda know how to water down a product...
    Here's to hoping an Indie dev to pops up out of the woodwork to usurp Bethesda of their position in the industry and give us games worth their price tags.

      @@nygeriunprence I don't consider The Witcher to be the same kind of series as TES, yes they are both open world RPGs, but the Witcher is linear in the sense that there is a story that changes the world as you complete it. The Elder Scrolls is way more open and far more akin to D&D, at least in my mind, because you can literally do whatever you want. I love The Witcher series don't get me wrong, but it isn't something that can really replace The Elder Scrolls for me.

    • @DJWeapon8
      @DJWeapon8 5 років тому +1

      @@chrismdb5686 Yup. TES' and The Witcher' core gameplay structures are different to each other.
      For TES and Fallout, you'd want:
      1 an open-ended narrative RPG
      2 with in-depth, unique, and diverse progression system that can cater to equally in-depth, unique, and diverse playstyles and
      3 with quests with multiple approaches, choices, and consequences that affect the world in both short and long term.
      The Witcher doesn't have 1 and 2, and it somewhat has 3 but most of them are short term consequences only in the quests themselves while bigger choices are more of an "this is what you did and this happened after some odd years" rather than actual "you did this now you will experience all the consequences of your actions immediately".

    I think the greatest disappointment of this all is that there is some refinement seen in 76. We're seeing brand new enemies and weapons and environments that are all visually interesting. We're seeing this improvement of gunplay and how combat feels (albeit that's kind of subjective). But, they keep taking these elements and tying them to major game changes that weigh these changes down.

      Sir Nekk One thing I thought was sorely missing in the (otherwise good) video was that if Bethesda wants to fully go the route of an action game, they have to be judged accordingly. They can’t get away with clunky mechanics and engine limitations anymore.

  • @krytenfivetwothreep2485

    Fallout wasn't always an action RPG, 1 and 2 were turn-based. Also, as much as I love NV, getting Obsidian to make another Fallout wouldn't do much good as the people responsible for making it great, Josh Sawyer and Chris Avellone, are no longer working there. And a lot of NV was based on the work done for Van Buren, the cancelled Black Isle F3, so they definitely couldn't get it done as quickly. Good vid though, just felt the need to point a few things out

  • @sebotrp

    Country Roads lead to a disappointment. Seriously i wouldn't be surprised Tim Cain started considering suicide after seeing how what Bethesda did to his creation, to his baby. Anyway with Obsidian purchased by Microsoft we won't ever see yet another Obsidian Fallout game so our last hope is in modders(who work on such projects as Cascadia, Miami or 4 New Vegas ) at this point and god Bless Them as we truly need them in these dark times.

  • @theadministrator6998
    @theadministrator6998 5 років тому +7

    I agree with you. The reason why Fallout NV was so well liked was because it focused more on the RPG element rather than the gunplay element. Fallout was and will always be an RPG. That was the reason why the game started in the first place, it was story driven. But slowly, Bethesda is losing that element in Fallout. They're trying to hop into the bandwagon full of multiplayer and FPS Battle Royale games instead of focusing on their own thing. I'm not saying F76's gonna be bad (I'm still gonna play it just to see what makes it tick), I'm just saying that getting sidetracked and making games that are not related to Fallout isn't good. Look what happened Diablo. It was supposed to be a hardcore PC game made for hardcore gamers, but instead, they turned it into a dumb down Diablo mobile. And I can already feel Bethesda going through the same path. Bethesda needs to realize that Fallout should stay an RPG, something that it was meant to be in the first place

    Please, as soon as Fallout 4 was bought and played by me I knew that the old Bethesda was gone. I sort of forgave them for the whole Pay DLC that they started (even though they deny it cause they are still trying to do it), but then they released Fallout 4 and it was horrible. I played it through once and never went back, that is a problem for a Bethesda game, as I played Elder Scrolls III Morrowind 3 times, Oblivion 4 times, fallout 3 5 times, new vegas 4 times, Skyrim 3 times. I had no wants to play Fallout 4 again. So I knew this announcement of a online only game was going to be HORRIBLE cause they are nothing more than another EA or UbiSoft.

    Fallout knows what it want's to be, Bethesda doesn't know what that is. Just play Fallout 1, 2 and new vegas, it's quite clear what Fallout wants to be, a hardcore RPG. Thats what Fallout wants to be and thats what Fallouts fans wants it to be. As for what Bethesda has done I do consider Fallout 4 to be the worst, because Oblivion did so many great things to further develop Fallout 3 into a really great Fallout game which also follows the story of the originals, Bethesda only needed to continue the story, learn from it and make it more pretty and stable. Instead they just realized that iron sights is a thing and did some really horrible stuff after that.
    Sure most consider Fallout 76 to be far worse than Fallout 4 but its just a spinoff, and they did say that it was an experiment to see what would happen if went multiplayer. Fallout 4 was supposed to be a great RPG but it fell way off the mark, Fallout 76 was supposed to be a more action focused game, and therefor not that interesting to hardcore fallout fans. It will be much easier to forget Fallout 76, Fallout 4 has left a much deeper scar.

      76 is worse than fo4 not just because of the below average game play or anything like that, it's the lack of CARE put into the game that gets fans the most, you can tell they didn't give a shit at all while making this, Todd Howard probably said "we'll just throw it out the door, and charge those idiots full price for it, they'll buy it anyways"

    It has always bothered me that certain parts of the fanbase have been requesting multiplayer and co-op for years. Well, here it is, have fun. Even more stupidly, they still ask for co-op. But this game basically have a co-op function, you can team up and do quests together. ”But we want an ordinary Fallout with co-op.” No, FUCK YOU, get it into your idiot head that these games just doesn't mix with co-op well. Shooting, looting and exploring is fine with co-op, and character development too, but having conversations with characters just doesn't really work well. Are you going to cooperate with every dialog decision and the exact length of time to have the dialog window open? And you need others to keep silent when you read the reply options. And Fallout should be a lot about NPC interaction and decisions. And what about VATS? But the co-op folks seems to be exactly the shooter/looter/explore kids, fuck yeah it worked in borderlands so why shouldn't it work in Fallout. ”I like fallout and I like co-op... omg, fallout co-op!! Brilliant idea!” Right, that makes about as much sense as ”I like pizza and I like ice cream, therefore it would be great to smear ice cream all over the pizza!” I'm so tired. People kept whining about getting co-op, and they still fucking do it after Fallout 76.
