Time has passed since this video lol and I've been to both California and Florida attractions and just came back again from Disneyland. I completely agree with what you said. Some parts are cool and ok when looking at face value but its just not very good. First of all Disney's constant shoving in the face of the sequel trilogy right into you. They need to make it a much more broader concept with original and prequel trilogy. The rest is explained by you great, thanks man!
Bahahaha! Good catch there. It's a length of measurement. That's why astronomers laughed when the movie first came out and Han claimed his ship could "hit six parsecs." That's like saying "My Vette can hit 100 miles."
Excellent work. I do however agree with the need for the droids and ships being out of reach of the general public. Unfortunately the general public includes many a-holes. By now what would be left of the Falcon would look like Jim Morrison's headstone.
Make a video about how most Univeral studios rides suck because they are just interactive tv episodes of whatever ip they are from. I really like this video Jeff. It reminds me of a Defunctland rant episode. You got a good niche here. I will spread the word. Keep it up brutha!
Another Disney fan posted an angry rant video about how Disney is actually aping Universal with cheapened versions of their rides where the screens are just awful. One ride for example, is just having guests sit in a "gondola" and get whisked along a track in front of flat screens of Mickey and Minnie. LOL. They missed the point: it's about immersion. Universal pushed everything they could to add to the environment of the ride. Example: Harry Potter's Escape from Gringotts. The wait line is inside a replica of the bank and is accurate right down to the goblin tellers. The chandelier in the main hall is real glass (damn, I hope it's insured, it can't be cheap!). When you get into the gondolas, you learn VERY quickly this is a light roller coaster. And to my horror, it even spins! It only makes the experience scarier because I didn't know which way I would be facing! Meanwhile, they use massive CURVED projection screens. These are done concave so that they fill in your view. The projected images are very high resolution, they aren't blurry at all. This fills in your peripheral vision as well. The entire ride immerses you into the theme, which is what the name implies: you, Harry, Ron and Hermione get caught in the vault and must escape the bank. The entire time, the ride swivels and even comes to a stop before lunging ahead. This is immersion, not slapping an IP onto a flat screen in a badly decorated room. That's why Disney failed in its attempts to ape Universal and even Disney's fans are losing patience with them. Some have noted the cheap thrills the Mouse is constantly aiming for in several videos. I probably won't go back to Disney for a long, long time. But I wish I could go back to Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley!
I know that they only added one ride when it was open, but it does take a long time to make new rides and now they worked hard to make Rise of Resistance. And that ride is my number ONE!!!
