I honestly think devs are leaving exploits in the game deliberately and then selling items on the side. These item selling websites have a seemingly unlimited supply of items with perfect rolls. It would be trivial to determine who these people were, ban them permanently, delete their items and patch the exploits they're using. The fact that this doesn't happen suggests corruption at the company.
You'll never convince me that blizzard doesn't at least get a cut from item sellers. You don't need hacks for items, just a crap load of bots running 24/7.
@mwbgaming28 that's what a friend of mine was doing RMT for super rare perfect rolled items he got banned a few times but just made new accounts and carried on.
@@themonsterunderyourbed9408 ye this, they literally have hundreds of bots going on every ladder/nl game type. It doesnt take long for 300 bots to find every possible item in the game, thats alot of mfing
You're making such an end game content that we don't usually see on other D2 youtubers. That's really great and it bring back a lot of memories. The bugged part of D2 + d2jsp is probably why we loved D2 so much and kept playing it for so long.
D2JSP killed diablo. No one was playing the game anymore. The bot severely destroyed the economy and there was nothing the blizzard team could do with it.
When I first started playing d2 back in the day, probably 2001 or 2002, I had dial-up internet. I would give a friend an item and then immediately unplug my phone line. When I reconnected and made it back into the game we would both have the item. This was before we had heard anybody talking about duping, and we never lost any of the items. And to this day I've never heard of anybody else duping this way.
You sure that wasn't D1? I used to dupe items in D1 on dialup, but it was the drop item and pick it up method - could be that if you disconnected it might work similarly. It used to be way easier to do on dialup than broadband (I remember my dad had just gotten broadband around that time, and when I played it at his house I could barely do it because there wasn't the delay when picking up an item).
I remember some other duping methods during the years I played (2001-2006). The easiest one was to use a sorc to casts meteors and a necro to cast bone walls until the game was lagging so much that you could drop an item on the floor, leave the game and still find the item on the character, while someone else in the lagging game could also pick it up and leave the game!
When I was a kid in 1.09 or 1.10, duping and poofing were so over my head, it took on a lot of mystery and superstition, and fear for trading in sojs or hrs. Good to know some more detail on why that went on
I've played D1 and D2 since day they hit the shelves. With D2, I've seen the many waves of dupes and method of doing so. Pre-Expansion it was all about the SOJ. We didn't have ladder resets or ways to clear out items from one season to the next. So, SOJ's were duped via the trade window method, the horadric cube method, and the vendor method. SOJs as a result just became the currency of the game and due to the duping, rapid inflation where gear would cost 2-15 SOJs. With the introduction of Expansion and later unique item ID, they really tried to ratchet down on it, but it took many years to finally get it somewhat right. However, I think a lot of the weird latency issues you experience nowadays in the game are as a result of these anti dupe/cheat methods adding additional overhead to the server processing your request. Which does things like leave your barb stuck in a perpetual WW or weirdly ignoring your cast on a caster. I've worked in the computer programming and software engineering world for over 20 years, so I can tell you first hand the struggles with dealing with legacy code. I have to imagine it's very daunting to propose any changes to it without introducing new bugs, unexpected behavior, or changing the gameplay in a way that it ruins experience for players. In my world, I deal with a lot of legacy COBOL code, and you face the same type of problems and it basically results in just trying to get the code to as near "stable" as possible and then just putting it into stasis and not touching it.
Some very good points. Recently, the rename-character function broke and I personally believe it's for reasons you mentioned... They're trying to fix some other part of legacy code that's busted and it ends up breaking something else. New servers and code will be a welcomed change when D2R drops!
My dad and I used to dupe items back in the day. It didn't work on Closed Battle.net but would work for Open Battle.net and TCP/IP games if I remember correctly. Your character gets a save file somewhere on your machine that you would make a copy of and store elsewhere. The method was to enter a game with another player, drop everything, shutdown your game, replace the new file with the "original copied" file, and load the game back up. All items are now on your character and on the ground. You could dupe exponentially with this method but we never did anything since we mostly played TCP/IP games with each other. Anyways, that was my memory of duping in D2. :)
I remember hanging around an ingame character that showed me he was wearing Constricting Rings about the 1.09 era. He personally called me on the phone and taught me how to setup Pindle-Bot and gave me all bugged 1.08 and .09 gear to play with. Accounts were eventually given away to random players after I burned out.
I wonder if this was me! Lol I joined the military in 2006 after playing Diablo basically my entire childhood. Gave away my entire account to some random person in game. Had all the duped and bugged gear on it.
@@beerscout9408 that happened to me back in the day. Some guy just gave me all kinds of gear Enigma and such. I built and Mf sorc, hammerdin, and smiter for uber trist. Learned how to sandbox and baal runs. Good times
I remember in 1.08. They duped the eth zoded blue Balrog sword. It did more damage then grand father and had 40 ias for whirlwind break point. It was game changer for barbarian pvp. They could actually kill zeal and shape-shifting druids toe to toe and they could kill bowazons still hardly. I remember when it was patched and they all poofed. All the top gear barbarians with the eth blue Balrog blade were a bit sad. I stopped playing my barb for a while.
Ohhhh my lord I’ve been playing this game for a long time and have heard about these strats. But no matter where I looked I never found the video that I was looking for. The day hath come where you have delivered. Long live coooley
honestly i was a kid when all this happened so i never got to experience it but i'm glad this exists as i love hearing about the history of events in games such as this.
I have no idea what realm trade or the game in general is like nowadays, I just mess around on single player classic sometimes. But here's some history: if you were there in patch 1.09 (2001-2003, maybe..? Basically right after LOD came out) there were no skill synergies whatsoever and very limited item setups. There were a small handful of skill builds that were capable of getting to 99 by running hell cow level inside a couple days iirc (ww sword barb, light fury javazon, multishot bowazon, nova sorc, orb sorc). Because it was so simple to optimize these very basic builds the small number of items required were duped extremely heavily, and the value of everything was measured in # of stones of jordan because back then no one was really paying real money for gear and third party trading networks were just coming about. The people duping sojs and flooding the market really defined the D2 economy for a long time there. What a different game.. imagine a build guide claiming 20+ "extra" skill points because you had no synergies to pump. Or going for months without seeing a paladin lol.
@@jewellui 2004 or 2005 maybe? Whenever 1.10, the rust storm, and the diablo clone came out I think is when the SOJ economy started to disappear. I think, anyways.. I did the bulk of my playing from 2001-2005, 1.04 pre-LOD to 1.09 and a bit in 1.10/1.11. To be honest, patch 1.10/1.11 changed the game so much I sort of lost interest at the time and didn't play it again for a good 10 or 12 years. I haven't been on the realms since I quit playing way back then.
@@dgunn4408 yea I played around 1.09 I think, I was too young to really understand the game or at least how to create dupes but yea the game changed a lot when in 1.11. I came back a few times to play Classic, it was pretty still fun but there just weren’t really enough players and it just wasn’t as fun not being able to get good items to make certain builds. Also they clamped down on map hacks.
@@jewellui When I played in the early 2000s I was in high school. Being honest, I was so vehemently opposed to hacking and duping that I was the most budget player you've ever seen. I rarely had anything worth trading, and refused to trade for heavily duped items anyways. The only gear I had was basically stuff I found with my own mf Barb. Luckily back then you could get a whirlwind Barb to level 99 with absolute shit gear just doing your part in Hell cow runs. The only Stone of Jordan I ever owned in my entire life was one that I found myself with a hardcore necromancer on classic in the first ladder season. That hc necro took my first and last SOJ to his grave at level 80-something and I'm pretty sure that's why I lost interest and quit playing for a decade haha
Thanks for making this. I started playing Diablo 2 since the initial closed beta and never knew how duping works. Got all hyped today after they announced D2 Resurrected. I hope to see more videos from you about Diablo in the future!
I'm guilty of this. My favorite was "Drop the item you want to dupe, hold your mouse over it and while holding alt, press F1 F2 F3 F4". It was amazing what people would fall for. Then there's the second cube trick...
I'm guilty of being that scumbag that got people to fill their inventory with tomes of town portal, then killing them like 30 times to "dupe" their items. I was such a little asshole, feel bad about it now though...
This vid brings me back to my bugged bowazon in 1.09 with 6os WF, 2os shako, 4os valor, 4os SS, and this awesome cliffkiller bow amulet that i had to perm every game to keep it around 😂 id give my leftnut to be able to see all the screenshots i had back in those days but they are long gone now
"Bro you found an Soj give it to me I will dupe it for you." "Ok I will be right back after I dupe it." I feel like back in the day this was the version of dad going to the store to get beer.
Not really. I played D2 classic for at least 4 years, on an almost daily basis, and never found one. The odds of a newbie getting a SoJ was certainly orders or magnitude lower than being struck by lighting. PS: Then I got Xpack, and played that shit for quite a few more years. Still never found one.
I used to dupe sojs in the thousands many years ago. Also duped btals, pre-patch rares and other items. Sold those items online and bought my first car with the money I earned. Thanks blizzard
10000 IQ, did you have any coding experience to do it yourself or were you just good at figuring out who to talk to to learn how to do it/get your hands on the tools needed?
LOL!!! Me and my buddy duped way back when using D2 Loader, opening multiple game instances etc etc, we literally ran the playground when kids found out we could do a very similar method to this, I recall being followed around all day everyday for 3 days by kids begging me to teach them. I love how half of the people we would trade items would never perm their items LOL. GREAT VIDEO!!! P.S. We started running into issues with items packets clashing and items poofing even when permed.
I'd always quit over something like that - next week the new account was in motion 🤣 D2 had a magical way of always pulling me back I swear. Its for sure the only game I've played for 19 years. This D2R is going to be something serious!
The "duping methods" you mentioned in the video were all out in the public and were patched within a matter of 2-3 days iirc. I quit D2 not too long after the release of 1.10. For many years I ran under a big time duper who used a method that's not any of those you mentioned in this video. While I ran my own website (alongside the dozen or so websites by others) doing retail at the time, I also did wholesale, or you could say that I was one of several who did the wholesaling for the boss. Those were the good ol' days. ;-)
yall remember oculos SOJ and white rings? ROFL. Playing a frozen orb blizzard in pvp, man.. good old days. I remember duping my 1.08 arcanes valor that was ethereal.. the thing had insane armor and gave a % bonus to health based on level instead of a flat amount like the 1.09 version did. I hope some of these insane items make a return in the ressurected version, they were so fun to chase after.
hehe what a trip to the past There was also a way of creating lag with a bone necromancer and a meteor sorceress if I'm not mistaking Nice bugged tal armour and nice video mate, glad I've found your channel, keep it up !
Wow so this answers why after I permed in a trade window how I still lost 40 Bmana Scs back in the day... someone else permed after I did and left their game before me.
Recently discovered your channel and its awesome! Its great to have this kind of D2 content rather than just drop highlight vids. You gained a youtube and twitch sub from me.
Somebody remember when a bug was found and using act 5 second wp was bringing you to uber duriel stage? Hundreds of baal's eye flooded the game. And it was a suoer fast way to make xp instead of baal's run. It last only few days I remember
The only dupe I ever did in D2 closed was using redvex to dupe baal's eyes and whatever other uber parts you needed (I forget now). I had a whole bank of them and they lasted forever. Funny thing is I think I never got around to using any, so they just sat in my bank till Blizzard (the bastards) deleted my characters for inactivity. Came back a few years later to play and lost interest when I saw that.
This actual duping footage from 1.13 patch. It's crazy to think that I was playing D2 back then, I knew about packet sniffer and blocking, I even knew those packets because I used to do some hacks that relied on packets and mess around with bots and stuff. But I never realized that trading window can be used to dupe items that easily. What amazes to me the most is that if I had heard hints about this method I would have had technical knowledge to pull this off without needing anyone to explain me packets or tools needed. I just never realized that I was seeing a duplicate set of items in trade window.
I remember back in the days, people sold hacked items, like some sword gave you +100% Luck. Also, there were some trainers or problem that allowed you to edit the stats of items for Single Player mode. I dont know how some of the modified items could get on Bnet.
Back in 1.10 you could dupe without hacking. Required 3 people and all you needed was to have a necro, sorc, mule. Have the sorc and necro start spamming meteor and bonewall outside of act 1 camp while the mule sits in town until the server desyncs then have the mule login into their account on a dual client and join a game then drop the items, the sorc and necro then slowly stop casting spells in the original game until the server syncs back up. The mule can then leave and go to the game where it dropped the items and pick them up successfully duping.
Anybody remembers the Fire sorceress/Necromant bonewall method. I remember this one got public and destroyed the economy as well as made the game unplayable for a while, since half of the batlle-net was duping items and most of the servers were lagged as hell :D Times when High runes were sold for 6x Hel rune.
Before redvex came out and you could do the packet injection thing you used to be able to get together a 5 person party and desync the server with bone wall and then you would trade the items to player 1 and ICMP him out as the trade is accepted and rinse and repeat player 2-3-4-5. Then make 4 characters worth of runewords and repeat...
I and my friedns duped tons of items in the classic Diablo 2 before expansions around in 2001 or so. (don't remeber the exact year. I was in highschool) I'm Korean, so we always had so many pc bang(pc cafe) around us. 3-10 of us go to a pc cafe. Back in that time, it was possible to loggin two different gaems with one account. Account1 joins game1 Account1 joins game2 at the same time as account1 joins game1 Account1 drops item on the ground and leaves game. Account1 saves and leaves with items equipped. Repeat N times. So basically, we were dropping items on the ground in game1, and soon after we are saving the equipped state in game2. It was a very simple way. And back then the anti-dupping tech was not good, because there were just not many online rpg games like we have now.. We coppied bunch of items on Asia Server and got bored so fast.. only few of us kept playing d2.
No one seems to mention it or apparently remember it. But my favourite thing in the entire world was in Diablo 1, Town kill. For those that don't remember, you could kill people in town with this small mod file. It was fun. People got pissed. Lmao
one of my biggest regrets was helping a duper by feeding them items back in .09 on hardcore mode. It killed the game for me, and most likely many others. I eventually built a cheesy poison damage pvp barb called masterofbaiting lol and dueled a bunch.. I'd go on to win every spar, never killing anyone.. I came close to killing a lvl 99 vitabarb lol i'll never forget him tping out of the blood moor with literally 1 hp(cuz of poison), didn't even bother trying to save and exit, what a champ...most people just save/exit when they are that close to dying...but i never went into a duel thinking I wanted to kill someone. Didn't have the heart. I was at the end of my rope, and talking in chat about how I'd won every spar and I needed some kind of challenge. Someone eventually took me up on it...at first I was winning ofc.. Poison dmg was just too cheesy powerful even with max resist. And then I saw him switch to a special weapon...I heard about people using them, but...wow. An ethereal fury balrog blade? for me? OFC we were both 100% "legit"..as always. He was winning. It was the first time ever I'd lost a spar, and I let him kill me. I wouldn't play 1.09 Diablo 2 in my life ever again...because when I came back 1.1 had arrived...and boy was it hell for hardcore mode. Basically went down the toilet. Such a shame.
@@aBanabis oh ya i remember now. thats the one i used to play. i was frozen orb sorc destroying cows and trying to hunt for windforce. those were the best days!
I used Charsi dupe method and I loved it a lot! Then there was a method of selling/buying items from vendors but this method made bugs when selling/buying windforce or some other bows. All public dupe methods were fixed quickly but the time when they existed was really brilliant and awesome.
A long time ago me and my buddy would dupe by lagging the game out with bone walls (non stop casting for 10 min straight) with a 3rd character in game with the said items. Once the game desynced from bone walls, we would log in to the character again with the items and joined another games, so same character in 2 diff games. Trade the items on the stable character to another. Log out and only then stop bone walling to bring the game back into sync. Save and exit - bingo. They have since patched this method. If you try to desync the game, it will just straight up disconnect your session
😂 that was hilarious! I had a couple people I knew then messaging me for gold, I always picked it all up and had massive amounts across different accounts. I'd just troll them at that point.
I duped using packets and selling to the store. Back in the oculus rings (occy ring) days. Was when the dupes went public so I wasn’t special but was still fun to have mules just full of sojs lol. I remember having a special amulet that I could only have one per mule. I forget what it was but I was scared to use them and lose them.
Hey I love the vids man nice to see someone giving a little back story about such an amazing game but I would have liked to of seen more about like how it affected the ladder and what ladders were just ruined because of over Dupped items or maybe like time lines and specific items that were duped either way love the vids bro
What about hacked items? I remember using oculus rings as currency, made a huge soj profit, and managed to sell all the oculus rings before blizzard figured out how to delete them all. Good times...
Cool video, nice to go back down memory lane with old d2 banter. I only ever was able to dupe in diablo 1 tho. But I do remember having like 400 3-20-20 scs in d2 at one point and most of them poofed lol.
I remember when LOD hacked items where in classic d2. Good times lol Grandfather, wind force, raven frost, 2 different armors (I can’t remember which ones) and Shako and vamp gaze too. Pvpers hated us 😬 And then there were just the flat out hacked fake items. 2 different pairs of boots, 2 or 3 different rings and ammies, a ward bow and a hydra bow, a pike and 2 colossus blades that were all rare quality in d2 classic. This was all pre synergy bs. I think there was more but I can’t remember em all it was so long ago.
Cool video, most hidden secret in diablo 2. been playing since .09. Lots of other methods ive seen on youtube in the past bonewall psn nova meteor, golems all over ground lag server.
i remember when i was a kid and played d2 in its early days. i saw all the hax and bots but i couldnt figure it out. we tried to obtain a bot but we could not find one. back then we looked up to the big guys who had everything and killed on players 8 and we just stood there and watched
Thanks for the vid! Back when I was playing (15-20 years ago), there was a saying that unid item cannot be duped, so they were worth more. Was that true?
Love this history of D2 series! You’ve earned a sub! But I have to ask, is there somewhere I can find your background/intro music? It’s so chill and catchy I’d love to listen to it while working lol
I remember your character files duplication items.. Dropping all items on the created server game.. Then.. Give it to other people.. Save exit.. Delete your character file name.. And get your back up character files.. And reset your char ID, plus the items as well in editor.. Lets go ❤️👌💪
Not mentioning the public dupe that literally everyone did for a while? It's still not patched to this day...at least not the root cause. People could lag games by spawning meteors and bone walls for half an hour then the same characters could enter another game simultaneously. So there you instantly had 2 copies of the same items in 2 different games. Blizzard's solution was to disconnect you on the slightest lag after this method became popular. Poor zeal paladins with torchs got dropped instantly when they tried to attack any enemy, because of the 25% firestorm cast chance. That was the point when they let go D2, we knew it.
Diablo was the first time I ever heard of hacking like this. Somewhere in my house is a floppy disk with a copy of the shadow master hack program. What a weird time for games lol.
I used to open multiple D2 windows on my pc, usually 3, two of the same character and one mule, one regular would trade with the mule, then the regular who just traded would exit and save. Then the unused regular and the mule would save. That way the unused regular would still have the previously traded item, and the mule would have a copy
I loved this video. I've been playing D2 since the day it came out OH SO LONG AGO back in middle school. I killed SO MANY COW LEVELS it's insane. I had so many mules so many uniques.. My fondest memories were of me not even playing the game, but actually sitting in trade chat typing wts shako for soj or whatever. I enjoyed the hustle of trading up until I FINALLY ACHIEVED MY GOAL of getting an SOJ by trading absolutely junk items all the way up to it. Anyway.. gosh so many good memories like.. my first time i got scammed by a person promising to dupe my items by asking me to step outside of town and drop an item only to have him immediately go hostile and his traps kill me .. Yes.. I actually lost my very first SOJ this way. I was absolutely heartbroken. I still remember the event to this day and I'm in my 30s.. I learned a lot about self restraint and about how it was just a game. Anyway! I Also remember the day I found a guy in trade who wanted pskulls and was selling sojs.. I couldn't believe nor understood it, but I had to jump on this deal immediately! I whispered the guy and we joined pskull1/1 and he seriously traded me a full inventory of SOJs and my full inventory of pskulls. I. Could. not. believe. it. I had sojs for all my alts, all my friends, my brother.. everyone! I felt so freaking wealthy! Anyway.. I eventually traded those for high runes for some cool items.. gosh good memories.. I eventually stopped logging in to d2 .. mostly because I had moved on to playing stupid amounts of warcraft 3 and MTG (high school years).. and of course my account got deleted from inactivity. Thank you for this video so much. I always wondered how in the world that guy had 40 sojs and how he was so willing to trade them for pskulls of all things... What do you think he was doing with the pskulls anyway??
It’s worth duper’s time to dupe sojs, but they probably didn’t want to go through the effort of duping pskulls. I bet someone eventually did the dupe for rare rolling though.
From what I recall at one point a duped SOJ was worth a few PS’. Guys like me who didn’t know how to dupe and were poor would go round collecting skulls and putting them together lol.
I'd love to hear you talk about how people cheat other people's items. You know, exit trade window just to replace it with a junk that had same graphic.
Unironically believe the utility that maphacks bring should have been built into the game. Better shrine icons, monster crosses, and numerical monster resists.
I saw a dude dupe gave away his entire pally GGs on ladder and since the reset happened not too too long ago that means there is a current duping method he even stated just duping
The only one i could remember was the one about full reju pot, sell 1 to merchant, then buy it back with shift click, voilaa, your belt full of full reju

Man, you gotta make more of these. I'm too young to have experienced many of these patches but the history behind them is amazing.
I’m curious if there will be any issues in the remastered version.
Bcon rings! And Occy rings!
Bugged eye of eylitch invincible barbarian too
I wonder if this was me! Lol
I joined the military in 2006 after playing Diablo basically my entire childhood.
Are you talking about the ith balrog blade with jah/gul/eth rune word? Whatever name it was... Only remember the runes
@@dgunn4408 how long were people able to dupe SOJs?
I remember people saying “duping items” And the they just scammed the poor fools 😂
I was little once and fell for the die 20 times trick. It was embarrassing afterwards.
@@sunshower6560 oh yea happened to me once, lost my whole mf sorc kit :s
I'm guilty of this. My favorite was "Drop the item you want to dupe, hold your mouse over it and while holding alt, press F1 F2 F3 F4". It was amazing what people would fall for. Then there's the second cube trick...
I'm guilty of being that scumbag that got people to fill their inventory with tomes of town portal, then killing them like 30 times to "dupe" their items. I was such a little asshole, feel bad about it now though...
@@zxczxczxc7240 I bet karma served you well with that one
This vid brings me back to my bugged bowazon in 1.09 with 6os WF, 2os shako, 4os valor, 4os SS, and this awesome cliffkiller bow amulet that i had to perm every game to keep it around 😂 id give my leftnut to be able to see all the screenshots i had back in those days but they are long gone now
3 socket veil better than 2 soxket shako! Remember the 915 ith Colossus blade. Unbeatable on a whirlwind Barb
@@cattycats4 this is not true, but it is a good example of good old fashioned d2 superstitions. that could make a great video @coooley
I miss those days when diablo 2 players used duped SOJs as currency for evaluating values of items.
I'll give you 4 SOJs for that Enigma !!!
I’ve been temp perming my entire D2 life, and never knew how or why it worked. Thanks 😊
I used to dupe sojs in the thousands many years ago.
Also duped btals, pre-patch rares and other items. Sold those items online and bought my first car with the money I earned. Thanks blizzard

It was game of patience charsi duping while using 56k dial up connection!
People were duping stone of Jordans and using them as currency. I just wanted two for my paladin ffs.
This brings back memories. All the "100% legit, found it myself" duped items from the past.
I still remember paying 25 sojs, that I legitimately traded for, for a grandfather that disappeared in the next game..... I was so furious.
Ouch that hurt me even yea we all have something like that
I'd always quit over something like that - next week the new account was in motion 🤣 D2 had a magical way of always pulling me back I swear. Its for sure the only game I've played for 19 years. This D2R is going to be something serious!
25 sojs for a grandfather .. wow that's legit old school bro !
The SoJs were not legit in the first place.
@@mjorge0alves what? Lol.
Those were the good ol' days. ;-)
Does the method used back then still work today? I'd assume it probably does, and that it'll never go public.
yall remember oculos SOJ and white rings?
I always wondered what the purpose of perming was back in the day. So cool! Great lesson :D
hehe what a trip to the past
There was also a way of creating lag with a bone necromancer and a meteor sorceress if I'm not mistaking
Nice bugged tal armour and nice video mate, glad I've found your channel, keep it up !
Ohhhh. The first one explains why you can’t trade all the charms on your inventory.
That Tal´s armor is insane!
2400 stones of jordan have been sold on this channel Uber Cooley walks the earth...
Thank you so much, man. Means a lot!!
Using bonewall to lag the server was how we used to do it back in the day
Somebody remember when a bug was found and using act 5 second wp was bringing you to uber duriel stage?
Just when I think I can’t learn anything new about D2... thanks for the vid!
I remember this one got public and destroyed the economy as well as made the game unplayable for a while, since half of the batlle-net was duping items and most of the servers were lagged as hell :D Times when High runes were sold for 6x Hel rune.
yes me and a friend tried that one
i thank god and youtube every day for showing this channel to my recommendations
best channel for d2 hands down.
Omg after so many years later I finally understand those mysteries thank you
Before redvex came out and you could do the packet injection thing you used to be able to get together a 5 person party and desync the server with bone wall and then you would trade the items to player 1 and ICMP him out as the trade is accepted and rinse and repeat player 2-3-4-5. Then make 4 characters worth of runewords and repeat...
I and my friedns duped tons of items in the classic Diablo 2 before expansions around in 2001 or so. (don't remeber the exact year. I was in highschool)
I'm Korean, so we always had so many pc bang(pc cafe) around us.
3-10 of us go to a pc cafe.
Back in that time, it was possible to loggin two different gaems with one account.
Account1 joins game1
Account1 joins game2 at the same time as account1 joins game1
Account1 drops item on the ground and leaves game.
We coppied bunch of items on Asia Server and got bored so fast.. only few of us kept playing d2.
great vid, what about a video on rollbacks (i.e. a5 clay golem spam)?
Those were the best days. Had like 20 mule accounts full of SOJ's and ITH weapons.
Anyone remember Carrion Song bow? LOL
What was that ring ... Corruption band ? maybe
No it was a classic bow that was very popular in the LLD realm
Another benefit of duping unfinished Runeword was to farm the best outcome for Runewords with variable results

Forgot to mention 50 stacks of jahs showing up this week 🤭
Such a shame.
what was the difference between 1,09 and 1,11 in hell?
@@kamark7017 lol. 1.1 was a gigantic patch that completely changed the game. it wasn't just hell mode.
I remember SOJ without Level 29 on d2 Classic 1.09d :)
I once had a bugged Tal's armor. I lost it due account neglect.
Nice tals armor
Were you around in the last two weeks of 1.09 when gold became the most valuable thing outside of charms because of the vendor dupe that went public?
😂 that was hilarious! I had a couple people I knew then messaging me for gold, I always picked it all up and had massive amounts across different accounts. I'd just troll them at that point.
well, in fact, the real money auction house in D3 damaged the whole game way more than all the dupes in D2 ever did

This was incredibly made. Keep it up.
This was a nightmare to deal with real time, wake up to Bers and Jahs suddenly gone, sucked.
good old days, brings back memories
What about hacked items? I remember using oculus rings as currency, made a huge soj profit, and managed to sell all the oculus rings before blizzard figured out how to delete them all. Good times...
and those sc's with 90+ vitality

I remember your character files duplication items..
Dropping all items on the created server game..
Then.. Give it to other people.. Save exit..
Delete your character file name..
And get your back up character files..
And reset your char ID, plus the items as well in editor..
Lets go ❤️👌💪
Shouldn't you just theoretically be able to dupe your entire inventory by making your character file read-only?
We're talking about duping on Battle.net (where your characters are not stored locally)
Little Freudian slip when you said "we" haha
I used to dupe organ sets because they don’t have a unique item ID either, selling sets was where it was at back in the day
I loved this video.
Depending on what patch this was he was probably re-rolling rare items because they can be worth 1000x more than duped SOJs
I remember that. SOJ were so rare. Back when Windforce and Grandfather where the best items in the game.
Diablo 1 duping was the g.o.a.t.
Let me click this item and drop a potion real fast 🤣
As always thanks for the great content man 💪
I'd love to hear you talk about how people cheat other people's items. You know, exit trade window just to replace it with a junk that had same graphic.
the only hack i ever used during my D2 years was maphack, i really hated geting lost
