- MotoMan drives another Porsche Taycan, this time, the 562 HP Porsche Taycan 4S with the Performance Battery Plus and learns while not the crazy fast EV that the Porsche Taycan Turbo S is, it is still a very fast sedan that is dynamically capable yet presents some odd challenges as a first timer on the #OptionsGame . . .

The only EV i would i get is from a Porsche as a 2nd car. Taycan is pretty , can't wait for the Macan EV in 2023.
Best review I've seen with an honest assessment of it's handling traits. It's a Porsche, but not a rival to its sports cars.
According to the computer on my daily, I’ve averaged 33 mph for the two years I’ve had the car. About 60% of my 40 mile each way commute is on Route 95 in Maryland. No need for an impressive 0-60 time for me.
Sound, “It’s not a GT3.” Lol Love it! The understatement of the year! Love your reviews, keep it up.
:)
Thank you for adding in important info I never learned from over 25 other Taycan videos, specifically the chrono option adding both sports plus and individual driving modes. That is important. Well done overall video too. SUBSCRIBED.
Glad to have you back. You always do a great job of explaining and going into detail and that's clearly evident in this video 👍🏻
Thanks! Still ramping up slowly but good to be back . . .
First video i get to watch on this channel and i subscribe same time. You went extra mile with the review. Good one.
The only youtube taycan review I like!!
Breathing video man. Very helpful. I’m thinking of getting the base battery pack. Do you think it’s still as a good car?
Great car and great review
You’re absolutely wrong about the Mission E wheels. They make this vehicle look unique/modern/exotic.
I drove the Taycan turbo.............crazy fast. I remember saying 'NOooooo'.......with a smile on my face.
I completely agree with you on the contrasting colors. Exceptional review as usual. Just an FYI though, the sound effects as you were adding up the options game kind of play over your voice and make it difficult to hear what you said at times.
Thanks for the feedback, Brenton. We have started to lower the volume of the sound effects in newer episodes. You should 'hear' that change in the couple of weeks . . .
agree with your contrast comment ... needs a lighter interior
good news : it's also free.
Interesting video of a very desirable car, if it weren't for the range. BTW, no idea what you've changed but you're looking 10 years younger in this video!
Firstly, I have to find the opinion of someone that owns and flys a Nanchang CJ6 well worth listening to. But what’s with the Yak? I miss my CJ. Anyhow, I had a great deal of difficulty getting out of the back seat of the Taycan. Not enough headroom at the door frame. I’m 5-10. Not especially tall. Does the sport seat option carryover to the backseats? Have you had that issue?
Makes me want to trade my 958.2 TT
Please give me your “perfect color & rim combo” that really help the visual impact. Inquiring minds would like to know? Thank you.
From what I have seen, there is a blue - similar to Gentian Blue we have seen on many 992s, with a saddle leather interior. However, MOST important, the turbo 'fan' style wheels. Saw this car at Frankfurt IAA and it transformed the design. That said, will be seeing more colors of 4S shortly . . . stay tuned.
is the airplane wing that you always shoot in yours? it's neat. also, where in los angeles are you located - general location is okay, i'm just curious as the area looks like the los feliz hills but it could be the hollywood hills or any number of hills on the west side. i'm located in wine country temecula, so the look is very similar but with a lot of wineries, vineyards and estates mixed in.
never mind - pacific palisades on bienvenida avenue ;) george!
The Taycan 4S would make quite the daily driver, but for me the price is impossible to rationalize. Maybe in time the tech will make its way into their lower models.
Sir. Would you recommend the PTV+? Curious on your thoughts. Thanks in advance
Yes. As a rule, one should focus on all chassis control options with a Porsche before getting to anything else.
@@MotoManTV oh! Okay. I did pass on PDCC and RAS. I didn't think needed for my DD type driving. But a few reviews absolutely recommended PTV+ so wanted to check. Thanks
Been thinking about a Porsche Taycan 4S without the Performance Battery Plus because saving 170lbs should be the best option for driving dynamics.
128k not bad! ...
Would love more info on this new model

You should do a rant on how the EPA has gotten the range TOTALLY wrong, and dig into how it's possible. The numbers aren't even remotely accurate.
Thanks for your Taycan 4S review. FYI I posted a link in TaycanForum.com.
Thanks! Cool site - especially showcasing cars in different colors. Took a look at the site and didn't see it there . . .
@@MotoManTV you can do a search on the site for motomantv and you'll see both this video and an earlier one I also posted. Glad you liked the site.

Think we'll ever see a RWD Taycan?
It exists yet it is currently only on offer in China. The question Porsche is asking itself about whether to bring it to other regions is this: Do we need to sell a Taycan below US$100,000 - which this car starts at.
I think this car is great daily but I drove turbo s and it's too fast for the road this 4s is ideal for daily commute I'm considering to get one but the place I live has %160 tax for this car not only they do not reduce tax for electric let alone not take the tax they actually apply luxury car tax thats is on something like a Cullinan or 812 superfast
The tax is brutal. Good luck. Buy what you want....
A point I need to make is that this is Porsche's first "try", if they indeed tried.
Had they made the body less cramped, it would have been a more direct Panamera challenger there. And they could have.
Had they made sure the range rating came out higher more (as everyone else does), it would have made typical Panamera drivers less cautious to order one.
Porsche KNEW they could not make many of these early on. And if it were too good, even if they could not deliver it, it would cost them Panamera Sales. Imagine your 2015 Panamera is ready for a swap. You like to drive a current Porsche. The 2020 unchained Taycan looks amazing, better in every way. Porsche says you can't have on yet. What do you do, but a Panamera anyway or wait one or 2 years to get what you really way? Waiting a year, pretty much costs Porsche real money.
But you could also have been woken up to EV's and MUST have one now. So you take the training wheels EV, a decked out Porsche that is just as quick in a straight line, has more cargo space and save a lot of money. Porsche loses money as well.
So it's Porsche's job to make sure the Panamera is still sold until the capital investments are earned back and Taycan is ready to crank up production and do so economically.
A Taycan that is as good as it might have been with an all-out effort, would have cost Porsche more than it would have gained. Winning car of the year means nothing if you lose more sales than you manage to make of the Taycan.
@@dr-ok3sn he is brand loyal so what...he is right about the Panamera.. Porsche and BMW are both sensitive to model changes. It's smart versus American manufacturers. They just throw out new models destroying dealers with inventory and customer satisfaction.
For a smaller battery, similar power and less cargo space, Porsche made a heavier car than a much cheaper Tesla Model S.
I suspect they just barely tried. When they get to a more track focused body style, a lot of weight could be dropped with optimized systems and chassis and body where they actually try to keep weight down.
The model S is a competing car in my opinion. Light and half price. Porsche never half asses anything.
Wow! I cannot. U compared a Porsche to a Tesla.
The bottom screen is just stupid
Range is impossible to live with. Under 150km in sporty driving. :-( Sad but true and no performance excellence will make up for that. Not usable as a GT and the exclusive price also... I would not buy that over conventional Porsche.
I think there will be a long range model on the way.
@@kamallb4650 When pushed hard NO EV can go over any reasonable number. I respect this car but the ammount of energy stored in those batteries compared to normal fuel is much smaller. In a sports car gt, this is revealed in full.
@@ghostridertom all I can say is that, it's just the starting!🤷🏽
We once started with model T now we have holy Trinity.
@@kamallb4650 But Model T was not 200k USD right? All I am saying is that this is nonsence now and just for people who have other cars and a lot of funds ready.
@@ghostridertom bruh.
Honestly. I just cannot.
A lot of the awkwardness of the design and how it drives not mentioned here. I would not recommend the 1st gen porsche electric car.
Because there isn’t any. Otherwise a professional such as MotoMan would mention it here.
too expensive for that price i expect +600 miles range
😂 🤮 😆 🤣
Jeez it's got a Tesla screen..
not a beautiful car
But a gorgeous one!
God, is do damned ugly 🤢
I think I’d have the Polestar 1 for now instead 🤔👍🏻
