Thinking of a car that can replace both my M5 & ML63 AMG, which led me to consider the Model Y Performance, but concerns about Tesla build quality have me very hesitant. The videos I’ve seen and stories I’ve heard tend to freak me out a little because if I have bad luck and get one built like a cheap toy, I’d be so pissed off. I may get this Taycan or wait for the Macan EV.
Seriously ... American car reviewers spend 80's to 00's year complaining about "cup holders" missing from European car companies. European ca companies that had "driving" as a focus. And now that there are cup holders, they are too much of a "statement piece." Bloody hell ... whether their presence or their absence, can we get passed cup holders ? 40 years of car reviews and the amount of time Americans waste on cup holder discussions ... it's like a borderline personality disorder of car reviewers and European cars.
Buying the actual car that someone did a UA-cam profile on would be the coolest thing ever! I thought the motorized charger door was pretty cool too until I heard of folks having trouble with it getting stuck n the Winter months, plus it blocks proper air flow through the adjacent wheel well vent.
Good report on the cosmetics. He used the «LIKE» word 53 times - which was a bit annoying eventually.Air bent control electrically is a pain as you need to take your eyes off the road to scroll it, what like was the sound system ?, back seat passengers can access central console WAY easier than the drive, does it regenerate on braking ??, I found access a bit challenging due to the triangular protrusion on the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel ........ but I still ordered a 4 Cross -7 months delivery ‘though :(
Nice review. Interestingly, when you option for the charge covers, you lose the air flow through the vent, reducing range slightly. I think the roof rack should have been discussed as it is really good for skiing or carrying and it's pretty easy to remove.
This guy is definitely a tesla driver NOT a supercar driver.. this car is made for people who like driving cars and not just trying to get the most range possible.
So positive, sounds too positive in every little thing. being as the actual Taycan driver, i found that the rear seat is too straight up and not really as comfortable as it is specially ferrying my family on a road trip.
Would you think going for the Cross Turismo a better choice for new buyers? I like the look of the sedan more but i also like the practicality of the Cross Turismo, hard choice
@@Crazy09starkillor I'm still prefer the sedan because of its slick design though. If I were to get a station wagon I would rather go for RS6 with the same money.
I could never understand people comparing Tesla and Tycan and then bashing tesla. The real comparison would be Tycan Vs Model S plaid. Also, not to mention Tesla is just a decade or so old while Porsche is here forever!
but Porsche are new to full electric cars so obviously tesla will have better ranges but the thing that Porsche care about is the driving feel and the way they handle. all tesla have done is give it a load of hp which anyone can do
@@xanderveal not true. Have you driven a Model 3 Performance? Compared handling with Porsche? I can tell you the Model 3 in sports mode handles like a 911. And I am coming for the Porsche camp so I am rather Porsche biased. I have had 3 different 911 and the M3 Perf would kill them all.
I saw one in the wild next to my model s. It looks amazing. But price and maintenance costs among other things keep me at my model s. But if I can find a used taycan in about 5 years for under 60k. I would also add to my fleet. It really is a good looking car without the greater engineering, software and charging of a Tesla.
Build quality of Tesla's is not the best thought where Porsche has been on point in build quality for decades, another thing Tesla's hate the heat and b roads down here in Australia I guess they'll get better with time when they update the chassis with replacement models and also the driving experience is sort of ordinary and yes I've driven a few.
The spec on these cars leaves my 2016 911 turbo waaaaay behind. I have the slate grey interior. It still looks brand new. A very serviceable colour. Those wheels are fantastic.
finally, someone who can properly say Porsche
Haha
But can’t say Taycan 🤣
Wish Tesla had an option for a premium interior like that :(

I own two model Ys one is long range and the other is a performance model, both were built in June of 2021 and July 2021 and no build quality issues.

😂😂😂 I agree with you.

Thanks for the comment Charles! Definitely a really cool roof rack set up!
One of the best Taycan vids out there, trank you Josh!
Thanks Manuel! Appreciate it dude!
wow the USA Taycan is fully loaded - This car you tested is missing EVERYTHING!! - Good job on the testing - The Rims are amazing
GREAT REVIEW NOW DO THE RWD VERSION

Nice video !!! My base model RWD will arrive in 4 months!... Love Tycan!!!!!
Nice!! How are you liking it!?
Hey..would u get a decked out base taycan.. or a slightly optioned 4s?
I’d go for an optioned 4s personally!
Such a nice guy! I’m subbing
Thanks bro🙂
If I had a dollar for every time you said 'like' in this video I could buy a Taycan
lol very true
What are the roof bars that this has mounted?
So “Turbo” is just a marketing thing? I can’t fathom an electric vehicle benefiting from a fan increasing intake air pressure. Right?
You are right. Porsche got quite some mockery for naming it that way.
Nice wheels
That’s what I said when I saw it for the first time 😂
Just like all VW products there is not enough center console storage.
Haha
The people that dislike have just bought a Tesla
Haha I don’t doubt it
And got a better performance while saving cad 100k

what are the specs on those rims?
Hey Augustine these are the Vossen HF5.

Matinence price for the taycan are surprisingly EXTREMELY low, less than 20 dollars a month.
Umm…pretty sure Porsche’s engineering in terms of chassis, electronics, and fit and finish are quite superior to Tesla.
Maintenance costs lol your chatting shit obviously didn’t research. Only possible reason of getting a model s over a taycan is supercharge network
Imprsssed by Performance? Lol! Have you ever driven a Tesla model 3 performance ?
Performance is not just 0-60
