    I met a Finnish guy and dated him for a long time! I would’ve married him! He was awesome! He was NOT Shy at all! He was born to be the leader that he is and He was very direct and masculine, very strong and dominant and soooo sexy and passionate! He became my best friend and we were inseparable because our energies really matched … but I had to go back to America for business and he had to travel East for business and Covid separated us! So I hope I find another Finnish guy like him one day if I’m single!

    I'm very confused with the "don't get physical too soon" I mean in the 3rd datr I can touch her hand and hold it even walk or sitting but say her good bye with a kiss in the first date is not too physical?

    • @AleksiHimself
      @AleksiHimself  3 роки тому

      "Too soon" means don't do it too soon for her. For instance, if you are on the first date, don't try to go for the kiss in the first 5 minutes. Personally, I slowly build the physicality with simple touches (like on the arm) and as she feels for comfortable with it, I gradually make bolder touches. I always go for a kiss on the 1st date if I like her.

    Ok so i’ve never dated a finn but i met this finn guy once,we just met and we immediately clicked. i can say he’s actually a little bit shy and i’m a shy person too,but since he’s shy i had to throw in most of the convo topics and whatever,btw he said hi to me first so it’s not like i said hi to him first lol. He was cute tbh,he also made a plan for us to go swimming the next day in the morning bc he likes to do that for a morning workout,but then i texted him in the morning but he replied an hour later saying he was asleep. after that i think he made 2 other plans with me but ghosted me on those 2 lol i caught feelings bc we really clicked & i’ve never clicked like that with anyone especially when i just met him for the 1st time. I was 18 & dumb back then I guess &i’m 22 now. So i don’t know what i did wrong tbh but that broke my heart tbh bc like i said i caught feelings. So it was hard moving on from him bc he was so my type. Good thing that came out of it is definitely i started going to the gym bc i needed to do something to get my mind off him & lemme just say,i transformed myself a lot physically & mentally,i guess thanks to the guy right ;D

    I lived almost 2 years in Oulu and approaching worked very well to befriend the guys. I was surprised at how easy it was to open a conversation with them and befriend them but with girls it was completely different.
    The most respectful ones were already in relationships but the rest usually didn't want to talk at all, were rude, were in a bad mood or didn't want to speak English.
    Approaching on the streets is something that I believe is not considered normal so it triggers a lot of bad reactions, I think this is one of the main problems.
    The only way I could meet a girl who liked me was through one of my male Finnish friends that I met by approaching people but besides that it was impossible. I did some estimations and I got rejected by more than 100 women approaching like that and never got a single date. I also had also discussions with at least 4 friends who're also foreign and they noticed the same thing. One of them even said that they looked at him like an insect in the bars because of how dismissive they were.

    • @AleksiHimself
      @AleksiHimself  3 роки тому +2

      I personally know foreigners who have approached in the streets successfully (a friend of mine found her GF this way). It's not common but if you know how to approach in a friendly way, it's an advantage cos other guys don't have the balls to do it.
      What I used to do, is even if I got rejected, I asked feedback for my approach and the ladies gave good tips. Try that.

    • @joseibanez227
      @joseibanez227 2 роки тому +1

      That’s really weird, I have the opposite experience. I have been living in Finland for more than 10 years and in different cities around the country. In general, finnish girls are more curious and more chatty than finnish men. I have no problem talking to girls, but with men it’s another world, to the point that I gave up making any male finnish friend. They are only chatty when drunk and next morning “pretend” they don’t know you.
      Perhaps it’s also than I am married and girls do not see me as a “threat”. My advice is to talk with girls who have been in exchange or lived for awhile abroad, they are more used to talk to “strangers”.

    You advise people to approach Finns anywhere, but doesn't that go against the personal space principle? Won't Finns think you are a freak if you approach them in a supermarket, for example? The about regarding the kiss on the first date, maybe you can afford it at 1.93m, but imagine a small girl trying to kiss a 1.90m guy and then he pulls away or he doesn't even realize what you're trying to do. And you FAIL! Again, from my experience, Finnish dudes seem pretty aloof or downright uninterested from the very beginning. Not sure if they're shy (that's what everybody says, I am sceptical) or if they know how hot they are and just pretend to be shy. Or there is the other scenario where a guy seems totally uninterested and then he catches the moment and just blurts out that he totally likes you and he'd do this and that to you. Like there is no middle ground. And definitely don't approach when wasted, I've experienced that too and it wasn't nice. :))

    • @AleksiHimself
      @AleksiHimself  5 років тому +3

      Approaching people and invading personal space are two different things. You can approach strangers in a good way and in a bad way. If I was to approach a girl in a supermarket I would do in a way that she wouldn't feel uncomfortable (ex. by keeping a certain distance). In fact, I believe some people would be impressed by the boldness of being able to approach in such place but of course some people might feel it awkward. You can never know unless you try!
      If you're way shorter than them, you should make sure you're sitting. ;) I can feel you about the behavior of Finnish dudes. Some of them are simply bad of showing feelings. Of course you can run into some players too. That's why I'd spend a few dates first and if there's red flags (like the ones you described) then it seems they're simply not worth it.

    • @loredanab4389
      @loredanab4389 5 років тому +1

      I agree. I was trying to joke about the Finnish shiness and personal space. And that sitting comment was funny. 😄 Oh and I noticed you tend to explain stuff more for people who wanna date chicks, but it'd be interesting as well to hear what a guy think. For example you were explaining how to get or how not to get too physical with chicks. Also I think you promote the videos with ladies a bit more than the one(s) with guys. Otherwise it's all good stuff.

    I'm interested in the Indigenous people who might have connections with Eskimo or Native American tribes. Also, I hate to point out a common stereotype but most nordic people like scandinavian have long pointy noses while most fins I notice have flat almost asian like flaring nose. and some (like even in Ireland) have single fold eyes like Asians have, though the fold is reverse than asians. Epicanthal eyes. asians fold near the tear duct and europeans who have it fold on the other side. Narrator/OP You have a flat nose like Asians, Pacific Islanders and Black people. Is it from the Indigenous you think?

    • @diamondsarenotforever8542

      Wrong. Finns have normally straight and narrow noses. A common thing is also, that Finns have similar eyes with other western European countries. Finns look similar with other Nordic ppl. The only difference is that Finland has got more ppl with blue eyes and blond hair. Also they are tall.

    Your confusing. I think Fins are fickle women, even the men. On one hand you say you stand at the bus station at distance because you like space, so, how am I to walk up and talk if you want space? WTF?? On a side note, who is the girl in the thumbnail, does she like older guys??
