I've had this keyboard for about 6 months. I use it regularly with Windows 10, 11, and Ipad. Have also used it on my Galaxy S20. I've never had a connectivity issue. It works really well.
i know this is late. i actually had many troubles with connectivity, sometimes at random it would just "lag being" like i type a word and it comes after a while, it is very annoying when you're typing. but i found out the issue and it was the dongle that wasn't receiving properly so when i moved the dongle it was solved.
I actually don't have a habit of liking videos as it was my way to make a watch later list. However I'm breaking this rule for this video as your video is the most informative on this keyboard I've ever came across to. Absolutely glad I came across your video. Many points raised which were never mentioned in others, and I was browsing for the last few days for reviews of this product. I believe I'll still be buying as my use case doesn't have the same problems you've encountered, but I'm still pleased I won't be totally unaware of some things that would've surprised me.
The backlight on and off issue is fixed via a firmware update on the Logitech site. You have to dig around a bit, but it's there. I had the same issue, and the firmware update fixed it. Great review.
I currently use this keyboard with the MX Master 3 mouse and my workflow has greatly improved. I am beyond impressed with it. In addition, you mentioned that you have issues with the backlighting... The sensors built in it are ambient ones therefore they detect whether there is sufficient light in the room or not. Hence the backlight may not turn on at times
I've been using the same keyboard since about late 2020. As you said, the multi-device switching is just amaaaaaazing. My desk setup at this point includes 3 computers connected to two monitors - MacBook Pro, gaming PC, work laptop, and having one keyboard that can switch between the three that quickly is something I've come to rely on. But, I've been having that same backlight glitching issue for about a year now. I wish I could say it doesn't bother me, but I spend like most of the day at my desk, usually in moderate lighting, and having a random light show being put on by the keyboard when I'm not even using it is super annoying. I can even see it lighting up the room at night every 10 seconds from my bedroom. It's annoying enough that I'm looking for a replacement. I've looked all over, and it looks like the only manufacturers that do device switching at this level are Logitech and Razer. So, I may well end up giving the MX Mechanical TKL version a try, but I'm worried that it'll exhibit the same backlight bugs :/
The touch on the mx keys is awesome. Multi-device is awesome, I use it with a m720 mouse, its perfect. I use it in the dark a lot, and I wish the backlight was configurable to be always on, at least when the charge usb is plugged in. the lack of spacing between f4 and f5, and then f8 and f9 is bugging me. (I wish the f-keys were grouped by 4, like a standard keyboard.) but the key feeling and travel offset all the cons for productivity. If you plan to game on this, use the dongle and you wont have any problems. My 2 cents.
This keyboard is amazing, I used it for a year before switching to mechanical keyboards. I kinda want to get one again, I miss having a quiet keyboard for when I'm in meetings and don't want to be loud.
Its not a binary choice. Cherry and Kalih both do excellent "silent" switches which have rubber "feet" built into the slides, significantly reducing the sound. You can make these even quieter by adding plate and case foam/other noise dampening material. If you want ultimate silence, pick a keyboard with a non-metal plate (polycarb or FR4) + plastic case and use it with a desk mat.
@@JimIBobIJones Mechanical keyboards will still be louder even the sound reducing stuff. I suppose the Logitech G915 linear is pretty quiet compared to most mechanical keyboards. It's only slightly louder than the cheap and crappy membrane keyboard I used before that. That being said, I'm also somewhat of a soft typist by nature. Even on the same keyboards my typing sounds tend to be a lot softer than others using the same one.
@@thenonexistinghero try the switches that have rubber components in the stem slides themselves. They mute pretty much all of the actuation sounds from the switch itself and with o-rings and/or foam, you can do the same for the keycaps bottoming out sounds as well. Paired with a plastic plate, that would silence it. You can definitely get it to the same level as a "chicklet style" scissor or butterfly switch keyboard if you want to.
@@JimIBobIJones This keyboard cannot use other switches. Besides that, I'm more than fine with the low amount of sound this keyboard produces. And all those sound-reducing things also significantly affect the feel of a keyboard, which will be a leap backwards since it's perfect right now. It's pointless to go mechanical if you're going to make it feel halfway like a membrane keyboard. Also the G915 with linear switches I'm using is one of the quietest mechanical keyboards available on the market. It's impossible to get a mechanical keyboard that makes significantly less sound without compromising significantly on the feel.
@@thenonexistinghero that wasn't the point of my comment though. OP said they switched back from a mechanical keyboard at work because they are too loud for meetings. My point is that you can have a silent mechanical keyboard if you want to.
OMG I completely agree with you on the esc key size and the F key layouts. I use the F keys a lot for work and I prefer they are spaced out in the regular groups of 4 like on every OEM keyboard. Only a couple of wireless keebs come like that
I had the same connectivity issues when I first got mine and I was testing it for gaming purposes. I had the exact same problems as you where if I held a button for a long enough time, the keyboard would disconnect but the input was still being treated as being held down in the game so the character would keep moving in that direction. All that disappeared when I stopped connecting to my PC via Bluetooth and connected to it via the unifying receiver. Haven't had any problems with it since then and it has been working splendidly
On a full-size keyboard F1 is actually supposed to sit above the 2 key, Logi just made the esc key bigger. whether that's positove or negative is another thing but, the F keys are in the correct positions on the logitech mx keys for sure.
Thanks for the follow up. I’m your 500th sub. I bought the MX Keys a month ago and have 3 devices connected. My work windows laptop, my personal Mac laptop and my personal gaming windows desktop. The ability to seamlessly switch between all 3 blows me away. I also use a Logitech anywhere mouse and would love if Logitech could come up with away for their hardware to be paired so that one press of the MX 1,2, or 3 button will also cause the mouse to switch.. I like the keyboard, I think the material is solid, good quality. I don’t like how low it is so I added a device I bought for my earlier Das Keyboard for Mac to raise it. I only have one small quibble. I wish it had a sound dial. I like dials a lot.
I have the same keyboard and I absolutely love it. The dongle it comes with can actually pair up with 5 other devises, like a Logitech mouse that uses the same unifying usb dongle. If you get a Logitech mouse that has the "flow" option and you are able to download the software on both computers you don't even have to click buttons to go from one computer to the other. Unfortunately the company I work for doesn't allow us to download software onto our work computer. It is so much nicer than a KVM switch to be honest, no messy cords or the KVM box in the way. I am very happy with my MX Keys keyboard and my Logitech M720 mouse, they pair up perfectly and the mouse has the flow option or you can use the change computer switch key on the side of the mouse. Well worth the money!
Great video; I also spend most of my day in Excel so I wish I'd watched this before purchasing because the oversized escape key thing bugs the crap out of me as well! I put raised stickers over my F2 and F4 keys to help me feel for them-still not ideal but better than accidentally hitting F1.
Yeah I can't believe why anyone can't make a good enough scissor switch keyboard. Either keys are too close or disproportionate and you hit keys accidentally. Only thing that came close to me is Dell KM717 and the old magic keyboard from 2009.
Very nice review, you touched on all the points I was looking for. I also have to work from home and was looking for the ideal productivity keyboard. Cheers!
The shifted f-keys and the positioning of the fn-keys are a dealbreaker to me, will not work when working in excel all the time across three different keyboards (office, laptop, at home) - thank you for the review!
I've had this keyboard for about a year I think, it's a pleasure to type on. The only issue I have is the one you mentioned with the F keys. I have to pause and check which key I'm pressing, or just guess. It doesn't help that the F numbers are written with smaller print than the alternate function of the key (which is printed on the center, as if it's the main function) and I usually can't read it as fast as I type, because the eye goes to the larger print and not the tiny one in the corner. Some spacing between them instead of a larger escape key would have helped identify them fast. Unfortunately at the moment the "U' key barely works, courtesy of a bouncing kitty. :P Hope I can fix it cause I love this keyboard.
I used it for a while but switched to the K780. The leds on the MX keys were unreliable and triggered randomly even in a fully lit or dark room, away from my hands and the light from the monitor. I like the K780 better. It types great and has a nice shelf for your phone or whatever else.
Great review! I was concerned at first about the offsetting of the F keys, but then I looked at my current keyboard several others, and it seems like it's very common for the F keys to be offset. Whereas other keyboards leave a gap between the F keys and the Escape key, the MX keys just filles in the gap.
I have been using the Logitech craft (same as mx keys) for 3 years and I LOVE IT. I don’t think the craft is worth the extra money, but the mx keys weren’t a thing yet when I got my craft keyboard, I used the crown to scrub through a video edit timeline or to play / player music.
I've also owned this keyboard, the Mac version, and I like Logitech keyboards, I own 4 different ones. As far as the auto on feature for backlighting I think the Logitech 810 does the best job of sensing when your hand is near and it has a much better run time on its battery. There is no dedicated number pad though. The MX Keyboard's battery needs to be recharged about once a week. The auto on sensor for backlighting can be annoying, coming on when something accidentally gets too near. Also, it sometimes takes a few seconds to connect to the dongle on the computer so you need to make sure it's connected before typing anything or you'll lose characters. My biggest gripe about almost all keyboards is, with the number keys on the right side of the unit, your hand placement is off center. You especially feel this when using the keyboard on your lap where the left side of the board feels like it's going to slip off your leg. If the function keys were moved to the left side of the keyboard it would place your hands in a better position. Plus I find it much easier to reach function keys when they're placed to the left. The problem is I have yet to find such a wireless keyboard, especially with auto on backlit keys. I agree about the oversize escape key pushing the function keys over by this odd amount. As far as using the dongle, don't plug it in near a USB 3 socket with anything plugged into it. Interference from it makes using the dongle a real pain. The only solution is to get a USB extension cable and move the dongle closer to the keyboard, as I'm doing right now. Bluetooth can be a problem on Windows and one possible solution is to go into Devices and under one of the Bluetooth properties turn off Let device turn off power (or something to that effect) and uncheck it.
Regarding the dongle: Evidently the new Logitech Bolt receiver is less prone to interference, so you can plug it into a USB 3 connector without issues. They only cost about 15 €.
@@Antti5 I meant plugging it in NEXT to a USB 3 socket that's being used by a USB memory stick or anything else has problems because of the interference the other socket is making.
I've had mine for over a year now, and I tend to use it exclusively for work; especially during Zoom meetings because of how quiet it is. For personal use, I prefer a mechanical keyboard (G915). I charge mine weekly and I have never been limited by power. I like the backlight.
About the F keys positioning issue - a workaround would be to remap the F1 key to F2 using powertoys. You could then press either since F1 is basically useless
Regarding the function keys, it sounds like you're accustomed to one very specific, pretty unusual F-key layout. It's much more common to have the F-keys offset, sometimes just by a little bit, with F1 more closely aligned with 2 than with 1. It's also common to have a sizeable gap between Esc and F1, so the elongated Esc seems like an aesthetic choice that won't impact most users in a practical way.
I agree with the reviewer that the offset of the function keys is a pretty big mistake. The "esc" key is on the end of the row and the easiest key on the entire keyboard to find when it is he same size as other keys, so nothing is gained while forcing experienced touch-typists relearn the placement of function keys. There it no trade-off, -just a major loss of functionality for anyone who. is not new to the use of computer keyboards. Other than that, it is great keyboard and worth the price. I with the numeric keypad could be reprogrammed for word processing commands, but that is another topic. The review is much appreciated.
@@777rogerf I am using it for a few days and I miss the separation of Esc key and the Fn keys, and also the physical separation of F1-F4, F5-F8 and F9-F12. UPDATE: With 3 self-adhesive rubber feet 1mm in height glued right above Esc-F1, F4-F5 and F8-F9, I just slide my fingers on top of the function Keys and these rubber feet give me exactly the tactile feedback I need to find the correct Function key I need!
@@777rogerf Agreed. Making the Escape key wider appears to have been a misguided aesthetic design choice. Probably a side effect of the large corner radius reducing the size of the key. That's a separate issue from the reviewer's comments about the positions of the F row relative to the number row.
How is battery holding up after the year of use so far? Specially considering you charge it quite often. I like this keyboard and I'm considering on getting one for myself, but the fact it's a closed battery and it's quite a hassle to replace it makes me consider it. I am a developer, sometimes because of time zone differences I have to work late with my clients and my wife goes to sleep quite early, so the backlight is something I'm planning to use quite often, should battery last long enough over time.
I had same issue re F2 and F4 within excel, so because i was hitting F1 and F3 all the time anyways, i just remapped them in the software. Swapped F1 and F2, and same with F3 and F4, but only within excel as you can map within specific programs. Nice review, i bought mine a few months back, and the 3s mouse is awesome as an addition.
I found that it helped a great deal to just mark the function keys. I have two thin slits of white tape, one taped over F1 to F4 and the other taped over F9 to F12. This gives me the visual cue for groups of 4 keys, and I always hit the right function keys without needing to pay any attention to it.
Love this keyboard... My main complaint is that the LED on the 3 device switch keys don't stay lit. There's no immediate feedback to know at a glance which device you're on. I use flow to go between a mac and PC on device 1. The other 2 device buttons are linked to an iPad and a phone. Yes, I use them all frequently in my work day. I bought the MX hoping to use one keyboard alone... The number of times I type into the wrong device has me thinking I'll need an MX mini for the secondary devices. Also, having the device switch for the MX master mouse is just dumb. It is otherwise also an amazing productivity device. Both still worth every penny.
I have this keyboard tied to my Laptop Mac and my Laptop PC. I had to purchase a KVM monitor switcher so that I could use both laptops on the dual screens I have. Because I use the dongle when I switch between the Mac and the PC my keyboard and mouse switch to that particular laptop I select. The only issue (And this is really if you use it for the setup I have) is that the functions of the keyboard are different because I am using the keyboard for two different operating systems. I spoke to Logitech, who said this can be resolved using the Logi options+ program on my PC. We will see how that works out. The only connection issue I have is when wake up my computers in the morning, sometimes I have to turn the mouse off and back on to get the scroll to start working again. I have a pretty technical setup, so I just need to find out why this occurs. Other than that I love the keyboard and no big issues so far.
The complaints about the location of the F1 key puzzles me. You probably used to work mostly with smaller keyboards. Because among all the keyboards I have only the keyboard with a smaller size and number of keys has F1 above the 1 key. All the regular keyboards have F1 either close to 2 or directly above 2.
I used an MX Keys for Mac for about 3 years before it started acting up. A row of keys became unresponsive at times. Sometimes the entire row, other times individual keys. The backlighting failed on the majority of the keyboard at the end. When working good it was great. At the time of purchase it was almost 1/2 the price of an Apple Magic keyboard. FWIW, I replaced the faulty MX Keys with another one. So despite the issues I had I felt the keyboard was still a good one. And yes I do also have the MX Master 3 mouse which has been fantastic other than a PIA when the scroll wheel needs to be deep cleaned.
Very good and thorough review. This gaming issue concerns me little bit, because I occasionally play some racing games on keyboard which needs some keys pressed down for long times. But I ordered it nevertheless because I already have Logitech MX Master 3S mouse and I want keyboard to be connected with the same dongle.
Hi - really nice review - thank you. For me though as a software developer (I also write a little VBA/Excel), this keyboard is not ideal. I've been using one now for the past few months and few things really bug me. Firstly, I hardly ever switch between my PC and my other devices, so those three keys are hardly ever used + I end up pressing them when I am using the Insert/Home/Page up keys, so suddenly the keyboard stops working (if I could assign them myself like my StreamDeck - that would be fab). Also, I use the numeric keypad a lot and I find I press the lock button at least once a day - when I actually want the hyphen. Finally, and my biggest irritation - the lack of spacing between the function keys (because of the three device keys). I'm used to keyboards with a space after each four function keys and I use F8 / F5 to skip through my code, which are not easy to see, so I've ended up using stickers to guide me. I do like the keyboard action - but - I'm already on the look out for a better/programmers keyboard - this is definitely not it. Anyhow....moan over....nice video.
I'm a programmer never run across any of the problems you mentioned. Alot of devs I know use this keyboard also without any complaints. It's all personal choice there is no right keyboard for devs or programmers
I've had mine around a year as well. My only real complaint is I've had some issues Logitech Options, but this has mainly effected the accompanying mouse (MX Master 3). Using them together as you can move from one computer to another (copying links for example) which is very nice, but occassionally it doesn't work well. Generally though, it's a really nice keyboard.
Great to hear and glad you enjoyed! If you wind up using Amazon for your purchase, I’ve got an affiliate link in the video description. No additional cost to you but I get a small commission and all of those commissions are feeding back into making more videos like this. Thanks for watching!
Good review! I have been using an MX Keys for 2 months with a Windows laptop, a Mac Mini and occasionally a MacBook. Basically I love it, but.. As you noted, the F key placements are a pain! I use all the F keys in my work & found it difficult to adapt. I often record music in the evening with low lighting. I find the backlight annoying in that it switches off only 5 seconds after you move your hands away and there is no way to adjust this. The keys are dark grey and the symbols are light grey when unlit, so almost impossible to see in a dimly lit room. Final gripe is that there are no pop out feet to angle the keyboard so I found I was getting RSI with it flat. I built my own custom riser that it now sits on to give it a better angle for me (I use a gel wrist support strip too which made the lower keyboard even more uncomfortable). Oh, final final grip - there is mo num-lock light 😱 Connectivity and battery life have been excellent.
Standar keyboards have short ESC key, but space between ESC and F1, so in final MX Keys have typical full size keyboard position of F1 key. Standar keyboard layout even have some spaece between F4 and F5 and between F8 and F9 keys. MX Keys and especially that white logitech keyboard are more compact design and top keys row even accomodate extra key.
My MX Keys broke around a year... just out of warranty. Now that I think about it... most of my Logitech devices don't last long... Logitech used to last much longer back in the day. I use my MX Keys like a living room keyboard so I heavily used the on/off switch. That thing wore out fast too. It also never remembers the light brightness. Always come back with full brightness wasting battery when I turn it back on.
Strange, I have used many different keyboards (all for Windows) and I don't know as I have ever had 2 function buttons. I just never thought about it. Thanks for the review!
Great work Cameron. Especially how you explained the detail about the dongle that no one mentions. I do though still have complications to connect to my pc. I can't use the keyboard even if it's showing clear sign that it's connected. Could you please elaborate little bit more how to use the dongle and bluetooth. Maybe I am mistaking in some step. Thanks 🙏
I'm looking for a keyboard i can use at public areas like the coffee shops. I don't want something as quiet as a stock laptop keyboard, i want something that will make typing more fun, but not too annoying towards the people around me. Which color switch would you recommend me?
Excellent review! I’ve been using this for over a year. I’m in the programming and analyst business. Only thing I hate is the F1-12 layout and actually the lock buttons. Been touch typing since 486!😂 the funny functions they give is just not for professionals 🤣 I need a power button and wake my pc from sleep or hibernation even during Bluetooth connectivity. This would be the greatest feature for me if it exists.
If people are looking to switch computers, Logi Options + offers a smoother switching experience. The MX Master 3 will mouse from one to the next and compatible keyboards such as this one will mostly type on the computer the mouse is active on. It's pretty great
Got my keys for mac. Amazing!! I only got a new one after a year (of keyboard Ive had for 3 yrs) was bc I was missing 2 keys . One the key cap and the second the rubber I had taped up!! Love the mix keys!!
If you are annoyed by the F1 button, go to Logitech Options software and re-program your keys. I barely use most of my function keys except for F2 so I just have FN Lock on all the time and kept F2 as F2 so I don't have the excel help function popup on me all the time when I mistype and hit the F1 key.
Can you leave the charging cable connected to the keyboard all the time, or will the keyboard break at some point? I do realise that this causes the battery capacity to age more quickly or the battery to break more quickly. What interests me: Is the keyboard still supplied with power when the cable is connected, even if the battery has no more capacity?
Funny thing the habits one gets. I hear the same thing for numpad from many people and I asked my niece who kinda grow up with a laptop only and not a full size keyboard. When I asked her to use a keyboard with numpad and tell me what she thinks after a few days her answer was: "why would I want to use that? the numbers are right on top of the other keys and I don't have to move my right hand . It does not make sense" :D I laughed so much, because , like me, people that got used to full keyboards find numpad to be much easier. I think she is right though, although once you get used to something, muscle memory makes it very hard to forget.
That’s a great story, thanks for sharing! I’ve seen similar things even with just younger work colleagues who are simply accustomed to the a laptop keyboard. My first ever laptop was a big 17 incher with a cramped number pad on the side. But yeah, now that most kids will grow up without the number pad at all, it’s probably on its way out in the long term. Or at least it will become reserved for some “retro” productivity nerds. 😂
Super helpful review, thanks. I was wondering if the function key placement would throw me off after seeing the layout, so I'm glad I found your video before purchasing.
If that's the only thing that threw you off, you could consider the MX Keys Mini. I just noticed the other day that it has the function key on the left where I'm used to it. They also fixed my escape key gripe. The only real loss seems to be the removal of the number pad. I've got one in the mail that will be my wife's new daily so I should have a video on it in the coming weeks. Thanks for watching and very glad that you found it helpful!
I have one. Love almost everything about it and I agree with your observations about things that are not ok. I will put small rubber feet above and between the F4 and F5 and between F8 and F9 keys, with the goal to let my fingers find the right key without need to look at the keyboard. Also, I found out that when lighting is turned off, the lettering becomes dark grey with almost no contrast with the body of the keys and this is annoying for me. Also I wish the user could choose the time the keyboard remains lit, even at the cost of less battery life. It's good that the keyboard can be used while charging and the lights remain lit for a much longer period.
Mine is working very well with my Mac Studio, no loss of connectivity at all. I love being able to switch devices, it's so quick and easy. It can bluetooth with or without the dongle, which wasn't clear when I bought it. It has a nice USB-C charging port and the battery seems to last. I like the keyboard lighting. Great keyboard. I mapped a 'sleep' combination in my Mac OS because this keyboard doesn't have the 'eject' button that mac keyboards use to sleep. I'd recommend this keyboard! Thanks for the review.
Good to hear the connectivity is good. I deal with almost daily disconnects and lags from my MacBook Pro! I wonder if my workspace, with two external monitors and an iPad and iPhone has too much interference for the bluetooth antenna.
@@clcortelyou Just distance, straight line, making sure nothing is in the way. I spilled on the Logitech, and now have another Mac branded wireless keyboard. These things are expensive, but they simply work.
@@CarlMadsen Shortly after my reply to your original comment, I bit the bullet and did a factory reset on my logitech keyboard and killed the bluetooth on my laptop through terminal, forcing a rebuild. The two days or so since then have been blissfully free of lagging and disconnects!
I completely agree with you. F1 button and ESC are so weirdly positioned. Constantly pressing wrong keys. I also use a lot of numerical part so instead of pressing minus i lock my pc... I returned the keyboard after 1 month of use while not being able to get used to it.
Thanks for the Review still kinda sitting on the fence, when you plug it in to the usbc does that also act as a connection instead of bluetooth or the wireless module?
I have had countless connectivity issues while just typing with the mx keyboard. I have almost rage smashed it several times but never have, it was too expensive to smash, but it's extremely frustrating.
Just got rid of mine. Best thing ever. Wasted many minutes trying to get the bloody thing connected to two machines as well as the mx vertical ergonomic mouse. Both great products as hardware but the connectivity leaves a LOT to be desired. Forever dropping and not a usable solution. Back to wired with a Roccat!
I've been using MX Keys keyboard for a while and I like it LESS every day. Why? There's no good reference to get your fingers into the right place without looking down so I'm constantly in the wrong position and making way more mistakes than with any other keyboard I've used. For example, the function keys are exactly the same distance off the numbers--bad. Also, the logo on the "cmd" key looks similar the Windows key so I'm constantly confused which button is the Start button--I don't want Mac keys on my Windows keyboard. I also prefer dedicated multimedia keys over dual purpose FN keys. I do like the feel of the keys and can type quickly when I'm in the right position. It's VERY expensive, but I ordered direct from Logitech and got the palm rest for free. Finally, good luck getting your custom MX Master buttons to work--Logitech Options is CRAP.
Well, you're wrong about the escape key. On most keyboards, there is a space between escape and F1. Enlarging the esc should not push any buttons over. It sounds like you're used to using compact keyboards rather than full sized ones.
mine has discoloration, is it normal? the keypads are okay but the surrounding silver or aluminum is fading. I purchased this one with a Chinese character next to the Logitech name on the box. The last digit of the serial is also different from the box.
Actually, there is a difference between this keyboard and the Logitech Mac keyboard. The one you have is called an MX "Business Keyboard" and is compatible with the new M1 Apple chip. The Mac version has connectivity problems, but this one doesn't.
What I don't understand is why to change from one computer to another you need to click both the keyboard and the mouse. Is not a way to just click the keyboard y switch both (keyboard and mouse) the other computer?
I've had mine for about two years now. I type a lot for my job so mine is well worn as well. I haven't had any connectivity issues with mine but recently I've noticed my period (.) button is starting to fail. Unfortunate, but understandable. Despite it's price and some gripes about layout similar to Cameron's, I think I'll replace it with another Keys. It's just that good and I don't know of anything that offers a similar experience for non-gamers that use keyboards for typing.
as both the keboard and the mx 3 mouse are both master series. cant we configure the mouse and keyboard in logitech options software somewhere so that when you click the button on the keyboard it automatically sync the mousealong with the mx keys keboard - configration > Can you please research that and advise. I think it can be done as these 2 are both MX series. Its the flow circuti bru. It can be done.
how often do you have conectivity issues?
Hey, they’ve since been resolved. It was an issue with the motherboard in my pc. I updated the bios and the connectivity issues disappeared.
I've had this keyboard for about 6 months. I use it regularly with Windows 10, 11, and Ipad. Have also used it on my Galaxy S20. I've never had a connectivity issue. It works really well.
I had some problems, then I updated the firmware on my keyboard and I never had a problem again.
i know this is late. i actually had many troubles with connectivity, sometimes at random it would just "lag being" like i type a word and it comes after a while, it is very annoying when you're typing. but i found out the issue and it was the dongle that wasn't receiving properly so when i moved the dongle it was solved.

That is the best news and I will be immediately finding that update. Haha. Thanks!!
Yes but it doesnt support RF with now drivers -- which some work PCs need
Excellent review. Clear, precise, and informative. Thank you.
You can disable F1 altogether with Logitech Options.
Great review, I hope your channel grows!
Keep up your videos. Your review is conversational sincere and helpful. This is my first and I'll be looking for more.
Great review! I was concerned at first about the offsetting of the F keys, but then I looked at my current keyboard several others, and it seems like it's very common for the F keys to be offset. Whereas other keyboards leave a gap between the F keys and the Escape key, the MX keys just filles in the gap.
I've put small black dot circle stickers above F1/F5/F9.
I have been using the Logitech craft (same as mx keys) for 3 years and I LOVE IT.
I don’t think the craft is worth the extra money, but the mx keys weren’t a thing yet when I got my craft keyboard, I used the crown to scrub through a video edit timeline or to play / player music.
thank you for the review!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
Great video! You’re really good at this! I’m very excited about this keyboard.
Nice review, Cameron! Keep up the good work!
I've had mine for over a year now, and I tend to use it exclusively for work; especially during Zoom meetings because of how quiet it is. For personal use, I prefer a mechanical keyboard (G915). I charge mine weekly and I have never been limited by power. I like the backlight.
Why do you prefer a mechanical keyboard overall?
Thanks for this review Cameron!
Very good review! Thank you!
13:56 I was thinking of buying this keyboard but i work on a desktop, I hope there is a solution to the disconnections
Great review... I just got the Logitech MX Master 3 Mouse for a $100 a few days ago. I enroute to getting the MX Keys shortly... Great review
I've had this keyboard for 3 months. I love it. I find it extremely comfortable.
Thanks for the detailed review, very helpful. Keep up the good work!
Excellent review man
Thanks for the thorough review!
This is honestly a great review. Very authentic!
Thanks!
Thank you for the insight to this matter, I appreciate it.
Great review. I should be grabbing this later today.
I appreciate your dogged, elaborate efforts in trying to explain key travel and "texture."
Really neat and great video. I just want to hear a long term users experience and you’ve done a great job!!🎉🎉🎉 thank you. Good voice too 😊😊
Hi - really nice review - thank you.
Check out Keychrons line up. Maybe one of their boards may suit you!
Great review! You answer all my questions and will defininatly be picking one up this weekend. New subscriber!
Oh, final final grip - there is mo num-lock light 😱
Connectivity and battery life have been excellent.
Relaxing review, great job!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I work a lot on excel so the Fn keys misplacements are a deal breaker for me.
Great review! I’m a bit late to the party but I think it is still one of the best keyboards out there. I’m so glad I decided to buy one.
Nice review, Cameron! Greeting from Indonesia
Thorough review, thank you.
Been touch typing since 486!😂 the funny functions they give is just not for professionals 🤣
I need a power button and wake my pc from sleep or hibernation even during Bluetooth connectivity. This would be the greatest feature for me if it exists.
Don't think the bluetooth stack is running on the PC when in sleep mode.
If people are looking to switch computers, Logi Options + offers a smoother switching experience. The MX Master 3 will mouse from one to the next and compatible keyboards such as this one will mostly type on the computer the mouse is active on. It's pretty great
This vid should be the baseline good example for all review vids out there !!!!
Great in-depth review.. Thank you
loved it. Hope your channel grows more.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Best dang PC keyboard I have ever had. Built like a fine piece of machinery.
great review! keep going
Im using it daily for the last 2year and I’m still loving it
Can you leave the charging cable connected to the keyboard all the time, or will the keyboard break at some point?
I do realise that this causes the battery capacity to age more quickly or the battery to break more quickly. What interests me: Is the keyboard still supplied with power when the cable is connected, even if the battery has no more capacity?
So honest review!! Thank you!!
Weird they put that switch button device button on the bottom of the MX mouse. On my MX Trackball it is in the top middle, which is perfect.
Funny thing the habits one gets.
I hear the same thing for numpad from many people and I asked my niece who kinda grow up with a laptop only and not a full size keyboard.
When I asked her to use a keyboard with numpad and tell me what she thinks after a few days her answer was:
"why would I want to use that? the numbers are right on top of the other keys and I don't have to move my right hand . It does not make sense" :D
I laughed so much, because , like me, people that got used to full keyboards find numpad to be much easier.
Great review, thank you
It's good that the keyboard can be used while charging and the lights remain lit for a much longer period.
just got mine and I'm not used to the F keys all grouped together. what rubber feet did you use?
@@clcortelyou that's great news
04:32 I changed F1 key as F2 with the Options+ software, when I was using this keyboard, since F1 is useless in Windows.
Can you tell us what the brand and model of the desk mat you are using in this video?
I completely agree with you. F1 button and ESC are so weirdly positioned. Constantly pressing wrong keys. I also use a lot of numerical part so instead of pressing minus i lock my pc... I returned the keyboard after 1 month of use while not being able to get used to it.
6:05 I’m freakin sold I use that calculator for everything and I don’t even work in finance 😂
Is not a way to just click the keyboard y switch both (keyboard and mouse) the other computer?
my onlyquistion i have is how to use the F1-F9 buttons wihout using the pausing effect etc?
I've had mine for about two years now. I type a lot for my job so mine is well worn as well. I haven't had any connectivity issues with mine but recently I've noticed my period (.) button is starting to fail. Unfortunate, but understandable. Despite it's price and some gripes about layout similar to Cameron's, I think I'll replace it with another Keys. It's just that good and I don't know of anything that offers a similar experience for non-gamers that use keyboards for typing.
