great keyboard. loving ur lumiy lamp too
is there any news about Parallels for Mac M1 versions?
I own this keyboard too. You aren't joking, this keyboard is surprisingly heavy, and I love it!
Definitely heavy enough to bludgeon someone with, can verify
@@ChuckThree wtf lmao
I’ve had the MX keys keyboard now for about 5 months and I am blown away by how functional it is and natural it feels every time I work with it. Wish this keyboard existed years earlier, but thankful it is here now! Logitech nailed this one one the head, no doubt! I will never go back to a standard keyboard and am planning on grabbing another one as a back up for the day my current one bites the dust. They’ve done it, and they’ve got a gold standard here. I hope they keep it up and I hope Logitech keeps it going, but don’t let it get to their heads and get lazy! :)
I've been using this keyboard for a few months and it's by far the best keyboard i've ever owned. its a perfect product.
Same here
I've been using this keyboard together with the MX Master mouse and its a killer combo - best I've ever used. After 9yrs of iMac late 2012 I'm loving my M1 Macbook Pro and new peripherals, many inspired by your awesome content. Thank you for the guidance and insight.
just subscribed a few days ago and I've been watching every since
I referenced this video a couple of days ago to purchase this locally. This review definitely helped influence my decision for it. I had purchased the mac version and finding myself pretty mixed on it. I love everything on the feel of this keyboard. The problems lie in the function key shortcuts. They work whenever they want to. The main ones I like to use are mission control & launchpad functions.
I REALLY want to like this keyboard since it's really close to being comfortable and functional. 😭
Hopefully, i can try out the standard version and see if that makes a big differenced in avoiding bugs.
Very helpful vid. Thanks again man!
Thanks! Been eyeing off the MX Keys 😃
I've watched a dozen reviews of this keyboard, and yours is the first to show its bottom. Well done!
Well done. Just got my MX Keys unit, and as long as I have a choice and the resources, this will be my preferred model from here on out.
Hey bro! Could you make a video testing different macbook skins (just as dbrand), cover shells and even keyboard covers and see if it affects the heating, performance or if its actually recommended to buy? I know it's a very specific suggestion but we would appreciate it 😀✌🏻
Another great review
Thank you!
I literally bought this yesterday and it just arrived!
It's a great keyboard for sure, especially with the mx master 3 mouse.
The only small "irk" I faced with it recently is when I received my m1 mbp, on installing Logi Options, it also triggered the installation of Rosetta2. Not a deal breaker through, as the software (Logi Options) introduces lots more features, like custom profiles per app, unified receiver (for the combo) and other customization.
I personally wanted to keep my m1 on m1 optimized apps (to each his own), so I didn't really want Rosetta in there.
Great review! Thanks for sharing! 👍
Excellent review. Many thanks.
Just bought it and arrived yesterday for my new M1 Mac Mini. Not surprising you pick this one.
The MX Keys is the best keyboard I have ever used. I love the touch and feel. The design and construction is a real breath of fresh air compared to the mass of other keyboards on the market. I do wish, however, that there was a better guide that includes explanations of what the symbols on the function keys mean, and how to perform some of the basic functions of a PC Keyboard. E.g., How does one print screen? After a bit of Google searching I found that answer. It would have been great, though, to have a downloadable pdf with a cheat sheet and graphic of the keys.
I am typing on one right now. I love this keyboard. It is the best wireless keyboard I've ever used.
I've had this model for about 3 months. I love it. Best keyboard I've ever had.
Great video! Thanks!
Man, your desk is fire!
Two things to note:
I use this keyboard everyday, using the backlight only when it’s evening or night. So far this means I can go about a month before it hits 10%.
Secondly it does actually automatically turn the backlight off when it senses a ‘bright environment’, but in my testing it does need quite a bit of direct light to do so.
Overall I do love this keyboard!
I plug in the USB permanently and the backlight stays on for 10 to 30 min straight. Thats the way I want it.
GREAT VIDEO THANKS
I have used the MX Keys keyboard for about a year. I have the Mac/Win version. I frequently switch back and forth between my 16" M1 mbp and a my windows laptop. As my monitor does not have PBP, I use the selector keys. It works flawlessly. I find the typing to be much better on this keyboard than my MBP. A much better key feel. Thanks for your explanation of the power draw while keeping the backlight on all the time. I was wondering why I never seemed to get the projected battery life. Of course now with the BenQ Halo light that I just purchased (due to your review :-) I can turn the keyboard light down or off. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Also yes. This is far and away the best keyboard I have ever used. It makes my 16" MBP M1 keyboard feel cheap. :-) Now I will go through all your other reviews and see what I need to buy next! :-)
Please do a review about Parallels and how to install it properly (I don’t know what the right setting are for instance how much rgb I should choose). Is it fully adapted to the MacBook M1 or still in Beta phase?
Had been debating between this and the apple magic keyboard. I don't know why apple hasn't released a usb-c version yet. So this MX Keys is the choice for me. Great video cheers!
Another great video!
It would be interesting if you could make a video about editing 1080p video on the mba (base model) with luts and effects just to see how fast it could be, I think it would be a entertaining video to see. If so thank you if not that’s fine. Good morning, night, or evening Liam.
Great work, good editing. Wish I could afford these products.
hey, are you planning on making a video on how to stain the gerton tabletop?
Got it for over a year now - FANTASTIC, insta buy. Got it after few top mechanical keyboards.
Adorei o teclado e a qualidade dos seus vídeos é excelente.
Holy crap, thank you for making me aware of Logitech flow!
My Logitech k800 keyboard - is acting up some keys not working. So now looking into purchasing this mx keys version. Appears to be a step up from the previous one! Thank you all for your comments.
Jumped on the mechanical keyboard train last year when home office started, and therefore didn't consider this really. However ordered the Logitech for my dad to accompany his new M1 MacBook Air (his first Mac!), and it's actually brilliant.
Have used the MX Keys keyboard for a few years now. Great keyboard for Mac & PC.
I don’t know what makes people think taller keyboards are more ergonomic. You want your keyboard to be as flat as possible so that your wrists are not bent upwards while typing.
That board is nice and looks so refined, But I'll stick to mechanical keyboards as I prefer the tactile bump on my boards. I would have to say that if I didn't use a custom mech then I would use the same keyboard as this one in the video.
I have it for a year and a half. It is a truly great keyboard, but some of the most often used keys now behaving strange - not so stable as before.
The integrated battery is great tho (unless you decide to use it with always backlight on).
Nice vid Liam
I too use a PC and a 5,1 Mac Pro; this looks to be a great input device for both (I already have too much 💩 over my desk so lessening the clutter would be great). Also the battery 🔋 life alone makes this better for me as I find the apple 🍏 keyboard ⌨️ is always after fresh batteries it seems...good review!
@Created Tech. Thank you for your excellent review. May I ask if the Smart Illumination should work when the keyboard is charging? Mine, which I purchased today, does not and the illumination only comes on when the keys are pressed though it does work when the charging cable is disconnected, but not all the time with it sometimes only lighting up when the keys are pressed. It fails to illuminate quite often with my hand hovering over the keyboard. I do find that without the illumination the characters on the keys look faint on the greyish keys and hard to see in comparison to a very much cheaper non back lit Logitech MK270, which has bright white and very easy to see characters on the black keys.
Great video! Could you tell me where the Windows key is? I can't find it or set up anywhere. Thanks!
Nice keyboard - I got one when I got my M1 Mac Mini. I had hopes of also using it with my antique 2010 MacBook Pro but BlueTooth standards have advanced in 11 years and this keyboard won't work with such an old relic. So I have a keyboard capable of supporting three computers but only on one now.
beautiful keyboard, but I have a question, what is the key to activate voice dictation, since using the external keyboard I can no longer click on the screen to activate dictation ???
Already have it and love it... usually. Use it across my Mac Mini, Air and iPad. Mine tends to have some connectivity issues even with the unifying adaptor. It's a bit more than a little lag on occasion. Use the MX Mouse too, both work 99% of the time, but when it doesn't.....
Make sure the unifying receiver is rather close to you. I had the same problem but then it went away when I wired a USB extension cable to host the unifying receiver about 1 ft away... and the lag went away haha. Sounds ridiculous but it worked for me. Connectivity interference.
Perfect review 100/100
If you're looking for a topic fitting with the arrival of the M-generation Macs, you might do one surveying how we can retask our old Intel Macs.
It is not an ergonomic design if the rear part is higher than the front. Ergonomic keyboards are built the other way around, so that the front part is higher, so that the wrists can have the most relaxed, natural posture possible and don't have to be permanently bent upwards.
The greater the angle at the rear, the faster the fatigue. Anyone can easily try out whether the hands naturally bend upward without effort or in the opposite direction.
I was about to say the same thing. Since it's flat, the Apple Magic keyboard is actually more ergonomic. The Kinesis Avantage2 that I'm using right now lets your fingers go below your wrists into concave wells spaced for the length of your fingers. In terms of ergonomics, it's the best I've found. It's deeper than the Magic Keyboard or the MX, but about the same width.
Sir have you ever considered the SATECHI KEYBOARD too? It’s a nice alternate keyboard for mac. ☺️☺️
⌨️ + 📺 best combo ig 😂
Very very high quality review.
Would like to buy this one, I only wish it had a fingerprint sensor and separated F keys from keys for playing videos.
How well does the graphite version match with the space grey Mac? I know there's a for Mac version that's space grey, but I'm curious, because I would rather the regular version
It still doesn’t connect automatically on an M1 Mac Mini.
I got mine to connect automatically, do you have the Logitech software installed?
@@JorgePille Same, Make sure you download the software!
Works fine for me
nICE
Has anyone experienced any issues with the space bar feeling a little stiff or unresponsive compared to other keys? Just got mine this week and it seems a little slow imo..doesn’t have the same feel. I’m sure I could have somehow worded this better…thank you for any input.
Sort of unrelated but what are those LEDs behind your monitor that look so seamlessly clean ?
Bought two of these for a m1 Mini. Love everything about them but within a day or less, they both began locking the function keys on F-key automatically. Could not return them to Media-keys, thus lost all the programing I had added along with mission control and launchpad functionality. Had to reset everything, delete and reinstall the software, try over and over to get them to connect via bluetooth, etc. Went through this scenario multiple times until I finally gave up the insanity. Am typing on an Apple space gray keyboard but am longing for the MX. Considering trying one more time, but they proved so buggy it was beyond frustrating.
Created Labs: I found the best Mac Keyboard.
Literally all of Reddit: Keeyychroon. Keeeyyychrrooon. Keeeeyyyychrrrooooon.
I have the Logitech MX Keys for Mac as well and these Keychrons look very appealing... I kinda miss the feeling of mechanical, but I am telling myself that I should stick to the MX Keys for now. Maybe later I will purchase a Keychron.
Can this keyboard also be used to install a fresh Mac? It seems to be a big problem with some (not Apple) wireless/Bluetooth keyboards which are not detected by new Macs if you need to setup the OS installation.
I had a cheap wireless keyboard before and if did lag at times. Every time I would turn in the pc the first stroke was not registered until it was connected. Is this the case with this keyboard?
Really good keyboard, have had it for about 2 years
I also have this keyboard. Absolutely the best keyboard I’ve ever owned. Super easy to switch between the laptop keyboard and the Mx keys without the brain having to adjust.
I doubt that they can build a better keyboard. Love the 3 device support. I have the triathlon mouse so I can switch quickly.
11/10
Just a heads-up. The other difference between the Mac version and the standard one is that the Mac version doesnt come with a dongle, just the Bluetooth option.
Yeah. Big plus for the general use version.
Can you make a video on a usb 4.0 or a thunderbolt 3 DIY ssd?
just upgraded from magic keyboard to mx keys and find it a bit long, may take some time to adapt.
I was looking at MX keys but unfortunately they didn't have a TKL version which was a bummer :/
I use mac version and pair it with window10, wherw can I find print screen button when i use on window?
I love mine, just wish I could remap the END key to be end of the line on MAC like it is on Windows.
I waited for you for 6 min to finally say they are silent keys! Phew! Now I go buy. Thanks pal.
I have the logi K811, do you think it’s worth it for a upgrade
I just ordered the newer version: MX keys mini which also supports Logitechs new receiver: Logi Bolt.
I know it’s a small thing, but why aren’t the modifier keys symmetrically placed and identically sized on each side of the space bar? This really throws me and even though this keyboard checks every other box for me it’s so hard to move away from the layout of the USB Apple extended keyboard.
I have the mx master 3, it's awesome but the clicks are so LOUD. I'm surprised they went the silent way with the keyboard but not the mouse... definitely gonna give it a try
I've modified mine switching the switches by silent ones. So happy now! You can find some videos of the way to go on UA-cam
@@xavierlecunff2811 oh i didn't think that was possible thank's for the tip i'll look it up ! And everything is working as it should ?
@@QuentinDamour No problem for me, you just need soldering skills, bravoure, and a lot of patience to unmount and mount a 100 bucks mouse
What about Satechi slim X1 do a review on that
I'm using Logitech k480 a d it's really great you can get that as well High quality and everything is great
Has anyone scratched the Space Gray version?🤔 Looks cool but if it scratches easily enough I may just do the "black on black" version instead.
BTW, the K360 is a great keyboard! Not as wide, very quiet, wireless (not Bluetooth) but is $80 to $100 less than the "MX Keys". I've been using the K360 for 7 years but I'm going to get the Space Gray MX Keys if it doesn't scratch too easily.
In my early days of adulthood I remember spending all my part-time cash to build the most "gamer" PC setup, and you know what I mean when I emphasise that word lol. I have since taken a significant step back from gaming and have been investing into productivity, ergonomics, and functional aesthetics. I gotta say, the MX Keys couldn't have been a more perfect addition!
Does it have a finger print scanner?
Does it have the capslock light?
Thanks for the review. Questions on the 2.4 GHZ USB receiver - let's say I use this on my desktop, will it now be dedicated/paired only to that computer or can I still switch and use it with my laptop via the regular Bluetooth pairing option? Or do I have to unplug the receiver so I can use across all my devices?
It will still work.
@@CreatedTech Ok thank you for the info.
I have this an do llike it but I can't get this keyboard or the mouse to work until I log into the mac with another keyboard first. Not just an M1 issue happens on an intel mini as well. Anybody suggest what I am doing wrong
Got this keyboard for my mom's WFH setup and I got super jealous as I was connecting it 😭I was like "damn, this thing is nice!"
Anyone's having issues with Flow between Mac and Windows (both connected with a dongle), mouse goes nicely from Windows to Mac but it won't work going from Mac to Windows. Any suggestions?
Other than that, I've got MX Keys and MX Master 3 and the combo is insanely good. 👌
Doing a video on the mx mouse next?
I wanted to like MX Keys a lot. Unfortunately, I experienced annoying lags. Every 10 minutes or so it got stuck and then repeated the last pressed key mullllltiiiiipleeee tiiiimeees. It got especially annoying when the repeated key turned out to be backspace because it deleted lots of text. I tried everything imaginable - Bolt and Bluetooth connection, disabling my router's 2.4GHz, disabling all Bluetooth devices nearby. Did not help. Even my old Logitech MK260 wireless did not have such issues. Really sad, considering the price of MX Keys. I wish it had a wired option to exclude all the possible wireless issues.
the fact that there is not option to disable the motion sensor for the backlighting is sooo crazy...
Are they doing the French version ? AZERTY ?
Im using the Mac version on my m1 MacBook. It’s awesome, I love it. Way better as the original apple keyboard.
I have the mx master mouse and i have to say being able to easily switch between my gaming pc then to my iMac and to my laptop at a click to a button is so convenient!! Im definitely considering this keaboard cause of that and all the other great things. If they made this keaboard with mechanical keas 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Thanks for the review.... So I have a MacBook Pro 13inch with touchbar, a iMac 27inch (but it’s a 09 maxed out internals) and an 12.9 iPad Pro 2020! I’d like to know more about the flow - so if I have the MX Keys and I have my MX Master Mouse (1) can I switch seamlessly by moving the mouse in the direction of the computers - then the keyboard follows? Did I get that right? I don’t need to switch the Bluetooth switches on the keyboard and mouse - it’s automatic? Presume the device needs to be connected via Bluetooth to both?
That's correct, the keyboard follows. Worst case scenario if it doesn't work every now and then, it's super easy to manually switch them. Hit a button on the keyboard and flick the switch on the mouse, takes about 2 seconds and connects instantly.
So I have been charging my new MX Keys keyboard and the bluetooth app in Windows still shows 0% battery charged. Logitech software doesn't even see the device. I see a blinking green light on the keyboard so I know it's charging, or at least I thnk it is. But it's show 0% after at least an hour of charging. Not good.
Is there a UK version with the £ sign?
Where is the video about Edge browser?
is there any difference between MX Keys and MX Keys business ?
By the way there is a good app I've used in the past that works for free on up to Two computers, that does the same plus more compared to Logitech flow. Works on Linux too. Can't remember the name since it's been a few years but yeah
I already know MX Keys is one of the greatest keyboard in existence but I clicked this video anyway because you have a good channel 👍
Thanks for the support!
I don’t have this but I think I would get it once mine breaks.
why after charge it show 95% battery
