  • In this video, we look at how to remove an Allison 1000 from GM 4wd vehicles. This applies to Chevy Silverado 2500hd, GMC Sierra 2500hd, Chevrolette Kodiak/GMC Topkick, Hummer H1, and most vehicles that are equipped with the 6.6L Duramax engine. If you’re doing a fully built transmission, replacing seals, doing the GM transfer case pump rub kit upgrade, or simply doing a refresh, this video will guide you step by step through the process of pulling the Allison 1000 transmission with tips and tricks to make the job easier. For a checklist that includes removal steps, torque specs, fastener and socket sizes, fastener locations, diagrams and other helpful information, check out the free download below.

Pulled, rebuilt and 3 months later installed. Had 3 brackets I could not remember where they went. Your vid solved that! Thank you!

I had my Allison rebuilt in my 03 ccsb a year ago. Saw a puddle under it today and found the rear trans cover cracked because the trans shop didn’t torque the t-case nuts and it came loose. I fingered 5/6 nuts off. Now I’m gonna pull the trans on ramps in the driveway and replace the cover and also check the torque on the converter. It’s a fancy triple disc as the truck makes over 600whp lol. This video is great and I appreciate the help it gives as I am a mechanic but not a duramax or diesel mechanic

Good little video. Thank you for the free download check list.
    I have 04 gmc sierra 2500hd lb7 4x4.
With some new parts on the way.
New dmax store torque converter, suncoast flywheel/flex plate and refurbished transfer case.
The fun I'll have laying in the driveway is going to be the best thing around. 😅

I’m in the middle of fixing a cracked back housing and installing a shift kit in my ‘04.5. Your download is excellent! I’m fighting with my trans being stuck on the dowel pins, I’m fairly certain. After checking out the bolt pattern you have, I know they’re all out. I guess that’s what I get with buying a Canada truck that had low mileage, but was rusty. Thanks for the video and download!

Ah yes, good old rust. Glad you found it helpful and best of luck with the rest of your build!

I really wish I didn't need this video right now. Luckily, I am out of town...
Unluckily, that means it is still my problem when I get home 😅

Big fan of lists lol. Done about 300 mdrive/ishift/couple dozen 4000s, plenty of eaton eservice cases with my name on it, lil 268 hino rolled in, seemed to simple. So far taken about 6 extra hours to get at trans back I'm, none of my hino books are very useful as there's over 100 and trying to find section tr002 -004 in the correct book etc just wing it. Was hoping for torque spec but 3/8 air seems OK to me . One or 2 ughas should suffice with some blue...wish me luck lol (not kidding on any of that, and yes, I also took am hour prior with my 18" rule and vernier measuring to lug faces about 600 times but at THIS POINT? full send the rest, should be fine as some vintage pickled pine 😅

I just downloaded the checklist. It works.
You have to scroll down to where the check list is. It looks like the download button is not lit up. Push on it anyway. It worked for me.

Unfortunately not this time. I do have a build list all spec-ed out and ready to go but that'll have to be for a future video.

@@builtbottomendperformance what’s your list consist of? Are you dead set on diy?

    • @builtbottomendperformance
      @builtbottomendperformance  Рік тому

@Josh D Right now it would be a GPZ TORQKIT clutch kit, Transgo shift kit, RevMax triple disc converter, deep pan, an upgraded cooler with some nice AN lines, maybe a c2 hub, and then I'm going to design up a c3 oiler upgrade pto cover & drilling jig (and a seal refresh kit of course). Parts list could change a bit, but that's what I'd be doing if I were building it right now.
I'm 99% sure I'll be DIY'ing it both for cost reasons and because I'm a madman who likes getting in over my head

@@builtbottomendperformance if you’d like I can put together a diy trans kit for you, with everything you’d need, using those gpz clutches but in increased clutch count, with lml style pistons and everything you would need to build a trans for 700hp, and a couple tricks to make it that much better
