- Railway Empire 2 sneaked under the radar, but in today's review Reggie will explain why it's such a good game and one to not miss out.
Railway Empire 2 has you building the railway system of your dreams, along with managing good, connections and staff. It sounds and looks great too.
Definitely check this one out.

I’m terms of the cargo, if your freight lines have multiple cities, you will have to satisfy the first cities on the line before the cargo carries on the next one. It can take a while but eventually everything will fill through.
You are a lifesaver! Which makes total sense with a name like Churchill. You proper lad. Thank you 🙏
There are two problems I've been having with that strategy, in particular for grain. One is that the further out you go from the source, the more empty it runs. The second issue is that inevitably one or more cities build a brewery and drink themselves silly while the rest starves to death.
@@TEBLify yeah it does seem that in late game especially, things are a bit unbalanced and resources are far to tight.
i used to build regional warehouse(around 3city) that supply frequent needs, each city has dedicated train that goes back over and over to that regional warehouse. that way we can distribute supplies and balance overstock in some regional.
where to download this game....?
Idk what I was expecting clicking on a random Railway Empire 2 review while scrolling UA-cam, but it certainly wasn’t this high quality bit of entertainment lol well done dawg, you just earned a sub with your banter. Keep it up!
Incredibly kind of you to say mate. Welcome to have you on board!
i noticed the tutorial guy in the game is voiced by the same actor as Brynjolf from Skyrim. the way he says "bleak falls barrow" is very distinct in that game
I love how it runs better than the old one but will they have any updates like you see in most online games now?
1:08 I think I’m going crazy, I’m an American and I understood that. 😂
Great review mate! very comical and enjoyable to watch keep it up.
Thank you kind sir
I use 1 express on line 1, 2 mix on lines 3/4 and 1 freight on all remaining lines,, and yeah me old mukka it's so chill like Goku on senzu beans😂
Reggie that was an awesome video me cockney sparrow Thanks, I have played Railway empire 1 and now with your insight & views of Railway empires 2, I will most definitely be getting this 🚂 👍
It was my pleasure mate, glad you enjoyed it.
No way I was just eyeing this yesterday! Thanks for the review gents!
You are most welcome lad!
I don’t buy games often, but I am still enjoying the first one. This is a game I plan on purchasing once I get my first gaming PC.
Everything seems simplified. Not sure ill be picking this up since my favourite aspect of the game (signals) has literally been removed and downgraded.
More than fair mate… see I never played from RE1 but I did come from Transit Fever 2 and I found laying tracks so clunky.
Sounds to me like a lot of fans of the original hate RE2 for it’s more simplified approach so appreciate you sharing that.
@cockneygamer yea should get RE1 has alot more then RE2
Yeah. I'm crap at the game, but once you get a complicated signal problem solved, it's pretty satisfying.
I had trouble getting much information from your video because like so many others that make these videos, you we moving the mouse real fast. I tried pausing to get some information, that helped. The other thing is you spent more time in the large area view so the track couldn't be seen I was watching because I thought I might find out if one needs crossovers with 2 track lines. Thanks for posting.
Your post could be just 2 words "shitty video"

My most serious complaing about the game is its insistence on using a comma for decimal point instead of an actual decimal point(period).
😂
Different countries use different way to do a decimal point. In Europe its mostly comma.
@@tilenjk02 every single English speaking nation displays decimal the same way
My first thought is that the amount track signals looks awful.
Yes I agree with you on that lad. I’m hoping some sort of mod can fix it. I guess from a scale perspective it makes sense (I.e track literally going miles) but the practicality is it seems there are many!
still prefer the first one over this one.. the Resource management and freight car managmenet systems is what i enjoy.. I am a completionist but i take my time. 3,000 hours into RailwayEmpire..
I love the review even if I didn’t understand 75% of what you said
You’re one of us now lad… one of us, one of us, one of us. Thank you for the comment!
Great review!
Thank you kindly good sir!
(Also that means a lot coming from you with such a big channel!)
What is the coop like?
I’ve played co op on Xbox, the people you play with (at least for the campaign) are on the same team and can do everything you can do.
How is it compared to the old railroad tycoon games? It seems to have the same dynamics
Great video. I downloaded it from Xbox game pass and was pleasantly surprised.
The game is lovely and its been just added to game pass, but this makes me wanna highjack trains in rdr2, is it only me?
Hi thanks for the review .but when i bought the first one i played through timeline and then it ended and had to start over.
I dont want sandbox i want to keep playig the game until i want to restart not the silly time line forcing me to stop.
So will i be able to continue my gameplay until i want to start another timeline?
Thats the only reason i have not bought this one yet to me finishing my data off really sucked worked hard to keep my empire at float .
Just wanted to enjoy watching the trains that the empire was done .
Think im asking can i play this in story with timeline off cause some of us mainly my i suck but love the game .
Thanks
Entertaining review. Nice one mate.
Very kind of you to say mate, appreciate the comment. 🍻
The game is also pretty expensive I mean for $49.99 that’s very expensive. I would probably pay like $29.99 or maybe like $19.99 for this type of a game. It sounds like it really doesn’t offer much in terms of new features then rsilway empire has aleady.
Tell me you're an alcoholic without telling me ...
Does this take you through history to modern locos? Great review, proper English, cheers :-)
Thank you for this nice review. What I don't understand is that you rave for 10 minutes about how good this game is to then give it a score of 7. That is 7 out of 10, I guess? You do have very high standards! What must a game achieve to earn a 9 or 10, I wonder?
You are most welcome! Good question on the score and one that no one has ever asked before.
To start, yes, I do consider myself a harsh reviewer. A 7 to me is a good/solid score. I’m a 40 year old guy these days and have been playing since I was 5. I can’t imagine how many games I’ve played in that time!
When we start talking that 9 or 10 score I consider them genre defining. Maybe a new way of developing games that may change gaming going forward m. Maybe it’s rewritten the script in how other games need to be developed. From memory, I’ve given I think only three 10 perfect scores on this channel (I could be wrong as it’s two years now). That was for Baldurs Gate 3, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Dave The Diver. So I would say a 7 score is definitely a “worth a buy” in this channel and. Hope this helps and thanks again for your comment.
How is this game different then Transport Fever 2?
Big difference is transit fever 2 isn’t just rail, but also car and air. So you’ll set up routes moving goods from once place to the next using all types of transit. It’s a bit more convoluted in how you go about that and the performance is a little weaker. However it does take you through the ages and still a solid game (great if you get it on sale).
Is it €50 good or should I wait for a sale
Personally reviews are mixed… if on Xbox or PC then I’d buy a months worth of gamepass for $10 as it’s on there and see how you like it (you could probably complete in the month too). Otherwise I’d wait for it to hit that $30 mark.
00:42 Seconds in and you already convinced me to buy it.
This was my review of Railway Empire 1, a game I tried to liek so much: "I you want a realistic train simulator then this is not the game for you; if you want a challenging puzzle game about trains, then you'll thoroughly enjoy it"
did they fix that? transport fever is a lot better in my opinion
I wonder whether Railway Empire 2 is better than Transport Fever 2 though...
I truly enjoyed TF1... but TF2 was a huge letdown. They borked it every way to Sunday, they did. So much in fact, if asked, I could not recommend it. Just trash, bloated, no joy at all. IMO of course 😛
Very fair lad, and you’re opinion is as valid as anyone else’s! I quite liked transport fever 2, but sadly I got a crash that wiped out my whole game. So I didn’t have the heart to start all over again.
@@cockneygamer Their change to make cities essentially a single item drop reduced playability. TF1 ran fine on my machine (i7 Intel, 32gb mem, 1tb SSD) but TF2 just buried it, no matter what I changed. I wrote to one of the primary creators who insisted everything was fine. Everything. Is. Fine. No, it wasn't, it never got close to performing like TF1 and last time I looked, talk was about TF3.
I have to say you were on the money on the lack of promotion for version 2 of this game. I had no idea it was out. Do you think enough corrections have come down to game owners to make it overcome what you saw as irritations or missing features?
Oh - and I like your style so I sub'd 🙂
Thanks for another great showcase & review - bit pricy for me with everything else I’m doing, even though I’ve done a lot of transport fever 2. At the moment I’m gonna be loosing my life back into Eve Online as nothing really like it after 40 yrs of gaming that Reggie & Jonny Two shoes would even find hard. Time for a nice cuppa tea too. 😊 Ron Jeremy lol😂
Haha always good for tea sir. I should have said the game is on Xbox Gamepass in case people wanted to dabble into it. And yes, the Ron Jeremy thing is now just a running gag 😂
@@cockneygamer nice love all the gags, as a mid 50’s gamer but what has happened to the to PC hardware market & new release games - seems like they both are regressing like some weird twilight zone world.
Indeed mate… I was so close to buying the new Gollum game but alas, I’m late to the party on that one. Couldn’t agree with you more on what you are saying.
@@cockneygamer at least you got a rare good experience with this - I think, I given up with all the new stuff & going back to the my tried & tested favourites, stick to sales & working out what year & how to fund a new pc in coming yrs, nice one mate 👍
I never knew Ronnie O' Sullivan reviewed games...interesting
Haha!
Cool vieuw on the game ❤
Great review mate
Cheers lad, appreciate it
Ive been playing the first game and I just hate the UI. What happened to the appealing UI and characters? Looks like they’re trying to be Railroad Corporation and why take away signals?? You can do some cool things with them :/ I was really hoping the trains could’ve had skins or atleast the option to unlocking fantasy iconic trains (polar express, hogwarts, Narnias train etc)
you convinced me to give it a try thank you
Welcome mate, and more so thank you for commenting!
may i know what is the name of your wonderful English accent, sir?
It’s probably considered more Essex truth be told! Just east of London!
@@cockneygamer Ze lundun English init?
holy shit they recycled the music from the orioginal lol
I really liked the original game but needed to refund due to the white flash of lighning strike in my dark studio room hurting my eyes.
Hope they didn't add that here.
Railway empire on steam
How on earth did I miss this? Take my upvote good sir.
Whenever you say "grab yourself a cuppa", I literally go and put on some tea. Always an excellent call.
I feel it’s built within all of us… if you are told then you must abide. If the world was ending a cuppa would fix that.
good vid
Its the original with a few more bells and whistles and upgraded graphics....thats it.
“Bells and whistles”… why didn’t I think of that pun?! Haha, I never played the original so for me it’s been great but I take your point entirely.
No it’s not, it’s an entirely different game and has improved in every aspect. First of all, did you play the game? No, so you’re opinion is meaningless.
sad thing is. You do not get modern traisn.. Railroad back in time had also the possabillity to use modern trains. Here they only use old train models.
🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚥🚦🚥☕☕☕🍵🍵
Your accent hurts my ears. Why are you interrupting your speech? 😢
You have not really played this game. Without controlling points you cannot have real control.
I don't think it's good at all
Fair play lad… I know a lot of people who played the first isn’t like the second
@@cockneygamer yea I just having issues on campaign with transporting 60 passengers from DC to Boston without switching trains I tried everything I could think of and it won't work
I tried for few mins but not sure I can continue
is the first game better? its on sale so i was thinking about it
Terrible game. Setting up rail lines cant be done .
NOPE. FOUR day one DLC's, at $6 each. Multiplayer is a joke. It is COOP only, meaning that two humans are on the same team....and share the same money! TERRIBLE design decision.
Sitting at NEGATIVE on Steam right now.
Thank you for the heads up on the DLC… never good when you see day 1 pricing for content that should be in the game.
As for negative reviews, I had a check (it’s now mixed) but most of those seem to have come from those who played Railway Empire 1. Doesn’t sound like the upgrade was worth the money. I’m glad I stayed in the review I had never played it before because maybe that explains my higher score - if you’re new to the series I think it’s a great little rail sim.
@@dennissvitak148 i read the negative reviews and I found most to should have been a thumbs up, sadly, players will look at the ratings and move on, since most don't read
DLC? Three pdf files and a soundtrack?
thats the whole point of co op. its called co op because you work together.
