Hi Phil See you in the morning.☕☕
I'll be here, Huw! 😊
Hi 👋 Phil from Phil, you have turned a soul ear into a silk scarf as they say, That is amazing what mother nature produces, Then you turn into a beautiful piece of art, well done Phil, stay safe, Phil from the moulin France.
It does help to have something so unusually beautiful to start with, Phil! 😊
That is a great looking little bowl . You turn scraps of wood into treasures . Thanks Phil
Thank you! 😊
Phil We Thank You
😊
Because of the imperfections and size I wouldn’t have thought anything of this piece but for fire starter. You have proved differently.
Thanks, Christine! 😊
Small project short video even so Thursday just ain’t complete till I see Phil. Very nice
Yup, short and sweet! I can't resist these little "nothing" pieces of wood! 😊
WOW here you go again. You have a GOD given ability to see the beauty in all wood no mater how Big or SMALL. You have taught and inspired me to turn ALL WOOD. That even ugly small pieces also have hidden beauty not to be ignored. You are the best. I will keep on turning till I am blue in the face, but I will never match your creations. Healthy or not, never stop your inspirational work to be viewed by all woodturners around the world!!!!! I hope to see you as a demonstrator at one of the AAW International Woodturners Symposiums some day. The world needs to see the talent you have. I hope to meet you someday and shake your hand and give you a BIG THANK YOU for inspiring me. KEEP ON TURNING
Wow, you make me blush, Howard! Thank you so much! 😊
I think my favorite part of this is the natural edge on the narrow end. Really lovely. Man, you can hear how hard that wood is.
My favorite part too, Michael! 😊
Phil you are best at making something beautiful out of a little piece of what some would consider trash.
And I have fun doing it! LOL! Thank you so much, Jean! 😊
Great job, Phil. Perhaps one of your absolute best. Hope all is going well. I had the great pleasure recently of teaching my grandson how to run a lathe and helping him turn out a wooden mallet. We both had a wonderful day. Best, Pete.
This is so good, Pete! Get the young ones involved while you can. They have so many other distractions. 😊
Little gems in the scrap box - just look what you can do with them - thanks Phil😀
😄
Well another example of Natures beauty. U did a wonderful job Phil of keeping Natures part and adding just a little of Phil’s part. Great job friend!
Thanks a lot, Kid! 😊
Love that turning from just a piece of scrap
😊
Martian crater/ duststorm for me... just beautiful...just needs mnms and late night sci-fi movie to complete. Thanks 4 sharing Phil.

Mother Nature sure does make some beautiful pieces, Phil. With a little help from you those pieces are nicely enhanced, my friend. Nice work once again! 👏👏👏👏
Take care,
…..Gord
This one is kind of "other worldly", Gord. It's so fun to turn these little pieces. Thanks, buddy! 😊
Your gift idea was easy and fast to make a bowl out of it turned out beautiful. I have 30,000 just (exactly like that) at home (or almost that many). It would be a perfect gift for that someone that has everything ( not when Phils around). I had a company that wanted to give their 11 employes a thank you gift. I informed her that they would not be just alike. I specialy create and craft each one based on what I have to work with. You wont find anything like them in a big box store. GREAT she A Chrismas Gift, Birthday, Anniversary Well, Graduation, any special occasion or simply just to say THANK YOU!!!!!!
Fantastic, Howard! Good to know you are keeping busy!
Fantastic, Howard, good to know you are keeping busy! 😊
Reminds me of "Mackenna's Gold," one of my favorite movies. I can hear Jose Feliciano crooning "Old Turkey Buzzard". A beautiful bowl, Phil. Thx.
Ya know, I want to love that movie, Kersi! I've watched it a few times. It's just a little too dark/harsh for me. I love Gregory Peck! 😊
Beautiful... Just beautiful. Nature's perfect chaos with man's modifications. I enjoy your artful nature Phil! Thanx 4 sharing n' I'll keep watching! ✌️😎👍
I appreciate that, thanks! 😊
Makes me cry when I think about all the little jewels that have been burned for scraps. But I have to sigh with relief knowing I do not through anything away LOL.
What a cute little bowl Phil. Like you said it has everything and your treatment of saw marks is very special. No bark? No problem you certainly are able to show of the nature that is there and enhance what took place over time with the wood.
Oh I was going to say I wonder if it could be Mesquite? Looks similar and Mesquite is a pretty hard wood.
Pretty cool looking piece my friend,
Gary
With your comment and others, and having turned Mesquite a time or two, I do believe you are right, Gary. Thanks, buddy! 😊
