I’m glad that you guys like this SUV. I work at Chicago Assembly Plant 15 yrs where we build the 2020 explores & Aviators. These are very well built trucks.

Seems like a lot of news stories lately about problems at the Chicago plant and quality issues with the new Explorer and Aviator?
brett run. I’ve read the headlines about Chicago assembly. Been like that for years. Your hearing about it now due to some issues with the new platform explorer & Aviator. The issues at hand were a lot of the first production run vehicles when we came back from a “ 6 week” total plant retooling. I’ll say this. A lot of the issues were SOFTWARE related. Which comes from the design & engineers in Detroit. The launch team explained a lot of the issues to the engineers in Detroit but they did what they wanted to do which resulted in issues. We just assemble the units we don’t do software installs. Granted we did have quality issue early on but now from what I’m reading it’s a lot of design & software issue. It’s easy to blame the rank & file( people don’t care,harassment issues, attendance etc) but at some point the higher up’s had to start taking responsibility. I’m not in production anymore I do road ability. So I see these issues first hand.
Darrin Carter interesting. I have a 2020 Explorer ST. So far I’ve found the blower fan under the passenger seat hanging and not attached, multiple squeaks and rattles on the passenger side while driving and the software has had several glitches. Like the car, but definitely some quality problems.
@@brettrun8575 ford always made junk cars..... any car brand ever owned by them was shamed and lost credibility. Unfortunately all American cars are inferior in every way to their Asian counterparts

The keyless entry system on the drivers door are another great feature that's been around for years it always works perfectly Ford should always keep that feature because Ford owners love it

What is the package for automatic side mirrors folding?
A great presentation of the Explorer. The touch pad screen seems to be an afterthought, the dashboard hood should have continued from the instrument panel. Recently seen a review of a competitor's vehicle, it has same size touchpad screen but was installed in middle of dashboard sideways and looked far better. If this vehicle comes to Australia the price would be in the $100,000 plus range. Well....I guess one can dream.

Bought my Explorer St in March. Same specs as this one. Only 2k miles on it due to quarantine, but I’ve loved every one of those miles. Who would’ve thought a big 3 row could still be fun to drive! Definitely not Toyota or Kia lol. And Ford is giving great discounts, mine was over 10k off MSRP. One watch out, check the 7th (I think) from last digit on the VIN. Don’t buy if it’s an “A”. Those are first run and had some problems during launch. “B”’s are solid.

Nice walk through! But what's Ford thinking putting that tablet in the middle of the dashboard sticking up so high? I'm surprised that meets regulations. We want A pillars that give us visibility in case there's a child or a pedestrian in close proximity. I could see that tablet blocking a lot of things in your field of vision.

They are not strobes. The camera setting causes the strobe effect.
