    I started painting a few months ago at the age of 70 My family responded with very complimentary comments and encouraged me by giving birthday money for art classes. They seem to think that I have talent. I LOVE painting! My father was an Artist (amazing one) and numerous people in the family are talented. I didn't know that I was one of them (so I was told about talent). The younger people took art through high school I did not. Now I want to catch up! I've bought all the amazing paints, brushes, paint wheel, etc. etc. I started with the cheaper paints but now I feel ready to tackle the ore expensive since my work is improving. I love watching your tutorials! You do some incredible work. Thank you so much!!!

    Let me just start by saying I'm rubbish at any form of art, be it sketching or painting. Thing is, I love painting. Courtesy of this short video today I did a wee experiment on acrylic paper, not even a canvas, and I've ended up with the most realistic painting I've ever done. To say I'm pleased would be the understatement of the decade. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills.

    I've tried and tried to replicate this technique. But just haven't mastered it. Until today when I mixed the "surface" colour with glazing medium. It seemed to do the trick and made the surface appear. Before, it was just too obvious and didn't look subtle enough. I also used glazing medium with a tiny bit of pale green to lighten the waves towards the top so they looked translucent. It was just a practice picture on paper. I held it up to my husband and said "what do you see?" and he said "waves" and I thought Yesssssss! LOL!

    Thank you so much for this video. This is the best explanation I’ve seen. You make a great painter and a teacher, which is a true gift to have. You explain everything - the how and why, as well as, telling what products and paints to use and leave us a list and all. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am for you doing all of that. You would be surprised at the complete lack of info-useless tutorials out here on painting, crafts, and well pretty much anything you’re trying to learn. Again, Thank you so much for all your care in providing us with so much info.

    "Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does."

That looks like the slack water on the paddle out to the reef...awesome dude..nailed it...I can almost feel that tropical sun beating down on my noggin :)!!! This is the type of art that I would love to learn...subbed

    To those who gave a thumbs down would like to see what you are capable of producing. Sad how many nasty people there are out there. Love you work Mark, have been watching your videos in the hope that I may eventually be able to paint water. Thanks for your videos. All the best wishes.

    wow!!! I'm amazed! this is very encouraging. I hope my hands would be as soft as how this kind of work is being done... my mind is such a huge thinker that I can do this, but my hands, really, most of the time won't cooperate. I subscribed. =) thank you so much!

    Did you use any medium or something so that the colors blend together and do not get dry before you blend them?
    Needless to say your art and video are fantastic.

    • @ExploreAcrylics
      @ExploreAcrylics  8 років тому +16

      Hi Soumaya, thanks for your message. No medium for this one, just a bit of water to give it some "legs". You do need to work fairly quickly, otherwise if you're doing a gradation over a large area, try wetting the back of the canvas first. Cheers, Mark W.
