Watched your video several time to help paint my exit way cement. Not near as good as yours but so appreciate your guidence
You're welcome :)
Awesome
Thank you so much!
I love this presentation! It's so helpful for beginners!
Glad it was helpful!

Bellissimo,, complimenti ✌️✌️✌️👋👋
Thank you so much :)
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Scary as hell as a beginner to look at something so amazing and thinking, how the hell is that a painting. Just wow!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely beautiful! I’ve watched you now for a year or two well since I started painting. I have yet to try any of your tutorials. I guess I felt I needed to work my abilities up a bit before I tried your work. But I think I am ready to give it a go! I just have a quick question about the colors!! I know you said your using French ultramarine blue. What if you don’t have French Ultramarine? Could I just use an ultramarine and add something to that to get it where it needs to be?? Thank you so very much sweetie ❤️
Hi, thanks for your kind words! French Ultramarine Blue is a fancy name for a warm blue. So try that if you can get it!
PARABÉNS 👏👏👏👏👏
I’m looking through this video - and wanting to know if my thoughts on changes to colours for overcast day ?
Thank you Sir❤️❤️
Most welcome
Thank u so much, Mark! 😀You can´t imagine how important it is for me you to follow your lovely tutorials. You are a good painter and a good man and God will surely choose you to stay here in 5 D!!! I confess that I have been doing all my best in order to remain here in this WONDERFUL PLANET TOO. Greetings from Florianópolis, Brazil!
Thank you so much :)
Merci beaucoup bisous de France 🇲🇫
Your work is amazing. Do you have any tips for painting sea glass? I'm a fabric artist and have just started painting using acrylics on fabric.
AS a creator of videos also, it is always nice to see comments 2 years later......wonderful wonderful lesson and approach! just brilliance and such a pleasure for the beginner in me!! thanks
Thanks so much :)
Beautiful! Can I do the same techniques with water using oil paints?
Yes, absolutely - the drying time will be different.
Such a good tutorial thank you for your generosity in sharing
Marianne from southeast Ireland
Glad you enjoyed it
So good Mark, thanks for the clear instructions. I really need to get your DVD me thinks!! Cheers again.
Glad it was helpful!
It’s amazing to me, how you go over areas with different colors, but it’s never muddy, I think it’s in the hands, like a musician, some guys are heavy handed, others are smooth, you def are in the Smooth category, I’m watching you and I still am amazed how you did this...and one thing you have ...is patience, great job!
There's a lot of time on the brushes my friend :) A lot of it is simply practise practise and more practise!
Very nice!! Was searching how to paint water-as I tried yesterday for the first time and it was a disaster!! I am used to painting close-up florals. Thank you for all of the tips, I can’t wait to try!!
Fantastic ✨👌
Good morning, thank you for the video. I needed it. Have a beautiful day!😌💗💕😍
You are so welcome!
I started learning to paint. I went to the dollor store bought the basics. Have fallin in love hard. To the point I dont know what I am painting till its done. For me its like a no brainer. I do not have one single thing on my mind the whole time. It's way better than therapy or any medication I've ever taken. Although I have to say it's not better than traveling through the 3rd eye I've actually took a vacation to heaven and it was awesome, it was free.
Thanks for the ideas. It looks like I am in your painting. I found myself waiting for you to paint me walking on the beach. It hit me, I wamt to pant people in my paintings. I love people, Each of you are so unique and beautiful. People are magical.
Blessing to everyone
Thanks so much, happy painting!
Thumbs up! Could you share if-how you 'clean' your palette? I'm guessing you re-use it 'as-is'. Utmost blessings!
I don't clean it :) Sometimes Frankie makes me paint one white for filming a tutorial or for workshops!
Love this - its so awesome to see tutorials that represent the colours of the Australian beach, sand and water. Many tutorials from overseas artists are great in their own right, but not representative of what we see here :)
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the Knowledge. It kind of makes me understand why I fell into his painting as he was painting it.. It is very realistic in my opinion and I've never seen anything about Australia. If it's like this painting it's extremely beautiful.
I would like to join your channel however, I don't want to be bombarded with the 3rd party people. Anyway to opt out of that part?
Hi Josie, thanks so much for your kind thoughts! Although I'm not sure what you mean? What 3rd party people are bombarding? Cheers :)
i caaant even. Ur mood is so happy. The way ur wave went over the other wave making a fold. Im so confused.
:D
Hi - where can I buy your DVD painting water in acrylics please
Janet
Hi there, you can get all our tutorial downloads on our explore acrylic painting dot com site under tutorials!
I have just found your paintings as Ive been searching for how to paint realistic water and I love your work! The canvas that you are using here looks like it has some kind of color on it like brown or gray or purplish. Could you share what color your canvas is?
Thank you so much! It does have a colour gradation on it - it's explained from 0:58 in the video :) Hope that helps!
@@ExploreAcrylics Thank you so much. Do your recipes books for colors just have the colors that you use or do you tell about how much of each one to use to make the color.
Like it
Thanks, me too :)
So fun to watch it become real! Are you saying "neat white" ? Is that just clean white?
Yes, neat white is just white with nothing added :)
Ευχαριστώ πολύ βοηθητικό το βίτεο!!
i wish you'd shown how you get your started 'blank' canvas with the beautifully graded sandy/purple to blue - eurgh mine mixed badly and it looks c..p haha.... need more practice. great tutorial though, thanks
Sorry! Keep on chucking paint around! :D
@@ExploreAcrylics 😄 I think that's the problem... I chucked too much on!
O My God, sir you are incredibly amazing. Thanks so much for being so generous to teach us the art.
Thank you so much 😀
Love your work! Sorry if I missed it but what colors are the base?
Hi Pam I think you'll find that info about 1:30 into the tutorial :)
Brilliant! Pun intended. So glad to see you back. Hope you are well now,👌.
Yes, all good :) Thanks for the kind comments!
Argh! How many times did you do this before you could do this?
:D :D :D GREAT question. Lots of hours on the brushes.
You're an absolute master painter!!!!
Thank you so much!
muito lindo....
muito obrigado :)
Hi from Denmark🤗
How long time have you been painting?🤗
I have one more question.
When You’re painting, do you paint after your fantasi or do you paint what you remember when you Saw it in real life or do you look at a photo you took with your phone and then painting?🎨 or what do you do?🌊
Hi Luni! I've been painting for a long time, probably 40+ years. Professionally for about 30 years or so. Regarding your second question, it depends :) This painting I did from a reference photo I took on my phone. Usually it's a bit of both :D
ExploreAcrylics Ok thanks for answer, I’ve been painting for 4 month or so, and I’m in love with it every time I paint I get so relaxed and I’m the Best version of myself🎨
This is THE Tutorial I've always been searching for! Thank You!
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful as always, I will keep trying at painting the ocean. Thank you for teaching.
My pleasure 😊
Beautifully done.... I'm not too found of acrylics.... Versus watercolour, I mean,. But this was stupendous... I'm open to trying acrylics again.... Thanks
Go for it!
Wow lovely, I’m going to practice 😁💫
Wonderful!
Your paintings reflect your love of the ocean. As always, great watching you paint. Thank you Mark for sharing!
My pleasure 😊
Amazing 😍 the painting showed up after a few strokes from your brush 🎨
We can't use the same techniques with gouache colors, right?!
You could give it a go - gouache doesn't blend as well I don't think. But certainly try it out :)
@@ExploreAcrylics Thank you so much, I will try 🌸🎨
Amazing. I love the painting and the video.
Thank you! Cheers!
Set your time out screen as long as it will go on your phone.
hahaha great advice, thank you! Will try and remember that for next time :)
is it just me or does ur canvas sound like i only know rhe afrikaans word fomalite. Ugh idk the word but it doesnt sound like a canvas.
I don't know that word :) It's my little finger rubbing on the canvas which is causing that sawing kind of noise :D
@@ExploreAcrylics the word is that white stuff that if it break has little white balls. It is used to package thing. It ia almost like the stuff bodyboards r made out of.
@@ExploreAcrylics styrephom i prob spelled it wrong but that is what it sounds like.
That was awesome man I have to try this. I'm gunna have to buy paint n brushes tho
Love it :D
First time watching a tutorial and feeling like yeah, I can’t do that 😅
You can do it! :D :D :D
@@ExploreAcrylics appreciate your faith in me. I tried. Looked nothing like yours. I’ve painted it over. Will try again. Thank you!
I just found you on youtube and watched most of your episodes. Found the one with your lovely family and your spunky wife!! I hope you see enough of your art to live on. Your talent is far beyond the others I have watched (and believe ive watched a lot). I am sorry for your health problems but happy your talent is intact and that you are thriving. I just picked up painting during the pandemic to ward of dementia lol. I am short of novice!! But enjoy the process and learning. Thank you for sharing your time and I hope it pays off for you. I absolutely love how you teach and paint. OCD aside, you seem like a pretty ok fellow!!!
Thanks for your kind comments Susan. Healthwise I'm all good - clear of cancer and loving life. Hope you're enjoying life too! Cheers Mark W.
Thank you for sharing these techniques with all of us! Very inspiring! But yes, I know it's not as easy as it looks. I started painting a couple of years ago and it seems I cannot leave the realm of tropical/island scenes. There's so much color and beauty and possibilities in God's big Salt Life. I see you sell DVDs. Do they really get even more detailed than these UA-cam videos get? I would be interested in purchasing if they do. I'm so interesteded to learn more techniques, God willing! Thank you!
Hi, we have lots of different tutorials to suit different learning styles. My "how to paint" DVD range deals with understanding fundamental concepts in painting, rather than "start-to-finish" tutorials. I also have downloadable tutorials which are start to finish. You can find out more information on my website shop here: www.explore-acrylic-painting.com/shop.html Cheers :D
I have followed your work and have earned from your tutorials for several years now. This tutorial is the missing link! I have not been able to realistically paint shallow water and foam until now. Thanks so very, very much for all your teachings.
Thanks so very very much for your kind comments! Cheers, Mark W.
Can you provide the website to order your materials such as the DVD or the color recipe book. Apparently, I can't find one in the US. Thanks.
Hi, link is in the description :) Thank you!
Thanks a lot!!!! Amazing work!!!! Especially your water and plant Works are so Impressive!!!! Have a good day
Thank you! You too!
